  • Download images to local machine (Urgent!)

I would like to download over 600+ images(BLOB format) from a table in my application that is built in Application Express to my local PC. After revising the images, I need to upload all the images back to the table. I am not sure if I can run some PL/SQL code to do the download and upload task. If it is doable, how can I do it? Thanks.

    Charleen,
I can think of a way to quickly get them out:
Use something like this application from the APEX Studio: http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=18326:7:::::P7_ID:2242
You will have to change the code so that it uses the table where your images are stored. You'll also want to change the Max number of rows to something > 600 to get all of your images on a single page.
Use a tool such as Nici (http://www.nicisoft.com/index.html) to save all of the images from the web page - essentially, you will get all 600+ of your images as well as any template-based images.
Make your changes to each image, and then... well, unfortunately, I can't think of a good, automated way to bulk upload them now. If I come across one, I'll be sure to update this thread.
Hope this gets you half way there!

  • Allow a document to be viewed in the browser but not downloaded to the local machine

I have SharePoint 2013 deployed and RMS integration enabled. and am willing to install Office Web Apps. I want to enable users to view documents in the browser only but not be able to download them to their desktops. This would mean there is no "save
as" button in the browser-based viewer and no ability to download the documents to the desktop to be used with the desktop Office apps (word, Excel, etc.).
I understand that I need RMS and Office Web Apps to do this. Could someone please confirm if I'm able to accomplish the goal above and, if so, how I do it?
Thanks very much in advance for your help.

When you enable OWA. you can read the file online and edit it
The only way to allow users to read but not edit or print a file would be to implement Windows Rights Management.  You can read about that here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms458245.aspx
It won't be doable with SharePoint permissions only as, even with read only, the documents is still downloaded to the client cache to read and as such can still be retrieved from there.
You need to follow below steps for IRM

    Hi,
You need to call the procedure owa.init_cgi_env before you can use owa_util.mime_header from SQL*Plus.
    See [url http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:500221786045]here for details.

  • Sharepoint 2010 is automatically downloading Office2010 files to local machine's Recent Documents, instead of opening from library, off an emailed link.

    Hi-
Please forgive me if this exact question has been asked already (if so I'm not finding it via Google or these forums), but one of my users can't seem to edit documents IN libraries, via links emailed to him.  He clicks on the link and the
file auto-downloads with no Read-only/Edit option pop-up, and he can edit it (without getting the annoying yellow "this is read only from the server, click to edit document" bar up top either), but naturally his changes to these documents
are only being saved on his local machine and not making it back to the library....  Our IT dept gave him a Save As workaround (that, it appears, would make a SECOND file in the library, which is not going to work for our processes), but nobody
else is having this issue....  I'm thinking this is a simple settings change someplace in Sharepoint 2010 or Word 2010 (we have Windows 7), or maybe IE, or it's possible his User profile in our network needs some kind of adjustment...  anyway,
    any/all help appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi,
    1. For automatically download the files, please check the office software settings. for word file, please open local word > file > options > save > save checked-out files to: > select "the office document cache"
    2. site actions > site settings > site administration > search and offline availablity to change the settings.
    3. Please compare the add-ons from this user's IE setting and the working fine IE setting.

  • HELP! How to save resultset (NOT file) from server databse on local machine

Our JSP web system allows our clients to be able to search data from the server-side database and then after get the resultset, they also should be able to save these data as a text file on their local machine by just a click. Of course, before they click the OK button, they should navigate the files system on their local machines and choose under which directory they want to put the file, and then provide a file name. I could NOT find a way to be able to navigate the local machine's drives.
I know there is a standard Save As dialogue automatically launched by the browser. But my problem is: I don't need such a pumped-up Save As... dialogue which most brower will provide, because our system will have an interface which will provide the same function as the Save As guy. And this is the part that I am currently working on. Our interface will permit the client to browse their file system and then provide a filename, and then click OK to save the file. PLEASE, anybody who can help me. I know there are guys there have answers for my questions:
    1. In my JSP program, I save the resultset I get from the database as a string, and then this string should be sent through inputstream and outputstream and be saved as a text file onto the client's local machine. I know there's a lot file download topics but I am dealing with a string instead of a file, is there an inputstream accepting a string(which contains dataresultset) and output it to a file?
    2. As I already said, how to make my own Save As... dialogue?
I really need help! I have been bothered by them for a long time. Thanks in advance!

Well, it's hard to interpret exactly what you want to do but I'll take a stab.
I would put the data into comma separated value (CSV) format and then stream it back to the browser using the "application/csv" content format.
By doing this, they can either save it to their hard drive into the directory of their choice, or open it using whatever mapping they have for the CSV mime type. For most Windows machines, this is Excel (if it's loaded).

  • Drag and Drop file from a jsp to local machine

    Hello All,
We have got a user requirement where, currently we have an attachment section in our JSP, where users are provided with the file download links,
as the user clicks those links the file download pop appears.
But now they ask for a drag and drop functionality, so that the link icon which they see on the JSP, if they drag it to there local machine, the file is downloaded
to the machine. Am not sure if it can be done from a web page. Any ideas if at all this is feasible. Or any direction where i can look through.
    Thanks,

But the other way around of dragging file which is on server, to the local machine...even if i have applet.. not sure how will that work.Neither am I. Just check the documentation / forums associated with the UI framework in question. This forum is for JSP/JSTL only. I can only tell how to embed an applet or webstart app in JSP, but nothing more than that.
Any ideas around Activex stuff if any ?Terribly bad idea. It's a MS proprietary technology and it would work in only one certain webbrowser developed by the same company, so you would exclude about 40% of the world wide web population from using the functionality. Just use the standard technologies.

serial.serialize(document.getDocumentElement());when I xcute my code I am getting download dialog box, with save option.
But after downloading no data is available.
Can u guys help me to fix this problem
    regards,

I don't know what you mean by "location of local machine". The response is being sent to a client machine (maybe that's your "local" machine). You have a lot of strange code that looks like it's serializing the XML to various places, but it should be serializing it to the response's output stream if you want it to go to the client.
There is no way for you, on the server, to control where on the client machine the response data will be stored. That is entirely up to the user on the client. And you certainly can't write it to the client without the knowledge and consent of the client. That's just basic network security.

I installed the Oracle provider from OraWin9204.exe which i was downloaded from the Oracle's site. But I am getting the above mentioned problem "The OraOledb.Oracle is not registered on the local machine", while i m executing the open method of the Connection object of ADO.NET. I also checked the permission on ora92 (ORACLE HOME DIRECTORY) folder and gave full control to my username. But the problem remains same.
Can anybody have any idea? Please help me on [email protected]
    Thanx

  • 11.5.10 Step by Step - Run istore from local machine for customization

    Hello,
Does anyone have step by step instructions on using JDeveloper to run iStore JSPs on local machine with the end goal to customize JSPs? We have 11.5.10. I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3.5. Have tried following steps per lot of metalink notes but none seem to be working. Need to know exactly:
    - what Jdeveloper version to use for 11.5.10?
    - Where to download this version from?
    - Is it even possible to run iStore from local Windows machine using JDeveloper?
    - What is the main iStore page that should be run the 1st time?
    - Any expert available in USA for a 2 week paid assignment to help our team setup Jdeveloper for customization? And give intro lessons?
    Much Help...
    Thanks

    1. The Jdeveloper you use with 11.5.10 will depend on which ATG patch level you are at (see metalink note 416708.1)
    2. It will be in a metalink patch (see metalink note 4167708.1)
    3. I don't believe you can run it locally on a windows machine.
    4. Can't remember it off the top of my head but I will look back in my notes, I'm no longer working at the client site who has iStore.
    5. I know of 3 or 4 experts that I have worked with in Canada on JDeveloper/iStore/Configurator, I don't know anyone in the US but there has got to be a bunch out there looking for work.

  • Applet in local machine

What is the process in the browser when executing the applet over the internet? When it's downloaded from the internet, is it saved to the local machine like in temp directory?
When I use the same applet, I realized that it downloads the applet only if the applet's updated. If it's not updated, my browser does not download it again. But I can't find the applet on my local machine.
    Any idea?

It's buried somewhere on your hard drive - probably under your browser's root directory. Your browser may well have renamed it, though.... ain't no tellin'!

    Tom
