Download to Excel Error ORA-20001on APEX 4.1

Recently i deploy my app production server using APEX 4.1
Oracle Application Express Release 4.1.0.00.32 (OHS) with SSL
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher Release 10.1.3.4 with OC4J Standalone with SSL
print to pdf no problem
but when download to excel : excel file with no data value, with error text
"<pre>report error:ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.</pre>"
my app development server APEX 4.0.1 no problem no such error

ALV grid toolbar - standard download to excel error

Hi Experts,
In my ALV grid report, when i click on the standard ALV toolbar to download the output to excel file, the data gets downloaded fine execpt for one field called serial number. It is of size 18 chars.
The last number on this field is getting truncated when it is downloaded to excel. Only 17 characters is being shown. There is no output lenght specification in the field catalog. The column width optimize property is also not set. Any ideas on what might be the problem?

Hi, I have an application where I try to implement download of the attachments.
I am trying to use Denes Kubicek approach

Does anybody have any idea why it breaks?

APEX Error - ORA-06502

Hello:
I'm in Object Browser in APEX. For all my tables when I try to view the table structure, the following error message appears:

Yet, when I click on the Data tab; the data appears.

Loin apex got error ora-01403?

Hi guys:
I installed apex 3.1.2 in oracle 9.2.0.3 ,but when i tred to login in apex/apex_admin,I got a error
ORA-01403: no data found
Unable to get workspace name.
Return to application.
I tried using other username ,all it returned the same error?
I had searched the reason all the internet ,but hadnt got an answer,could you help me settle it? thanks.

I test for a long time to try finding where the error is.privately I think ,the Apex did not connect to database,Some times when I press 'enter' some times.

by the way ,1525 is the port of listener. the database just a database for test ,having no other uses.

Standard Function code for Download to Excel Icon used '&VEXCEL'(Microsoft Excel) instead of '&XXL'(Spreadsheet...) it solved my problem.

IR Export To Excel error

We have an IR in Apex 4.1 which contains 99 report columns, and 1000+ rows.
The IR displays correctly on the screen, and when we try and Download to CSV it works ok (we get all columns and rows).
But when we try and Download to Excel we get;
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
If i reduce the number of columns to 40 or less the Download works ok. It appears there is limit in either number of columns or row size but i can't find a definitive answer anywhere.
Anyone shed any light on this?

You have created icons alright but from the code i see that you haven't called any function to execute the action.. I am not sure whether WAD 3.5 has these preconfigured icons where you can just drag and drop these functionalities... I guess you have to call these functions..
Generally when a 'Submit' button is clicked in a web page it calls a program (Ex submit.asp or submit.aspx) in the background where the given details is submitted to a database...

Through my PL/SQL code for Download To Excel functionality, If fetch record count is more than 2k then sometime I get below mentioned error:
ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed
No such file or directory ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 805
ORA-06512: at "NCPCORE.NCP_BRANCH_CAMPUS_REC_PKG", line 1799
What could be the reason for the same?

Error ORA-20001 when Creating an Application Express Workspcce

I have a 11.1.0.6.0 Enterprise Edition database running on a Fedora 10 box that was created using dbca. At the time, I did not select Oracle Application Express for installation. However, I can configure APEX and start it with URL http://<host>:8080/apex/apex_admin and log in as ADMIN. Looks like I'm ready to go... Database accounts APEX_PUBLIC_USER, FLOWS_030000 and FLOWS_FILES existed at the time I configured APEX.
Following the 2 Day + Application Express Developer's Guide, I get error "ORA-20001: Unable to create user. ORA-01935: missing user or role name" when I attempt to create a workspace for the demo application. In an attempt to resolve this, I've run dbca again to install Application Express in the database, and I then get "ORA-04063: package body "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOWS" has errors: ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "FLOWS_03000.WWV_FLOW" ORA-06512: at line 2". DBA_OBJECTS reports table WWV_FLOWS owned by this user, but no package body of the same name.
Can anyone advise what I need to do to resolve the ORA-20001 error when I attempt to create a APEX workspace, or resolve the ORA-04063 error when I attempt to use dbca to install APEX in the database?

The oracle application express environment is created by installing the HTTP Server on the windows server and the application express 3.2.1 components on the 11.1.0.7 oracle database on UNIX. The installation is successfully and have not seen any issues during the installation. After completing all the steps, when tried to login and click the application builder or workspace components, I see the error message
report error:ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number.
This error message is seen on most of the pages when trying to accessed and not able to understand the reasons behind it. Its a brand new environment setup and not even presented to developers to test it.
Below error message is always seen when trying to access most of the components like application builder, schema comparison and some other tabs. Please advice

I think its better you use APEX 4.x version ratherthan using old version.
You will get more features and some bug fixes and also it's easy for you to get some help when you need.

We face the above error in HTMLDB (APEX) application Ver 3.1.0. This occurs when we try to display more number of rows/records in drop-down list (LOV in tabular forms). We are able to display 200 records in LOV. When the list of records exceeds 230, we face the below error

the values listed in LOV are from tables (one of the columns in table)

As you are using a tabular form, you could actually do the following:
1 - In the tabular form column's attributes, set the following:
Display as: Select List (query based on LOV)
Display extra values: Yes
List of values definition: SELECT null d, null r FROM DUAL
2 - Add a new page item and set it to generate your select list
3 - Create an HTML region with no template and use the following for its source:

(Change "f05" and "P1_MGR" as appropriate to your column and your new page item respectively)
Now, when you load the page, the select list contains a null entry plus the entry already on the database. The javascript kicks in automatically, loops through every entry in the "f05" column, copies the existing value, replaces the select list with the new page item version and sets its value to the copied value.
Your new page item could be in a DIV tag that has a style of "display:none" to hide it from view.

I have two Distinct Databases on two distinct servers. (Oracle Ent. Release 10.2.0.3.0 on AIX 5.3). After I install the latest patch last week, One of the APEX installation has some problems on Home>Application Builder Page. The error message is very random and
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value.
When i change the view (details to icons), everything goes to normal. This error message is reflected some of the pages (report region) of some of my applications randomly. When it appears in a report region, i deselect the order method of the region, the result is normal.
But the other APEX application on the other instance has no problem. It is a bug? or Should i re-install the APEX instance?

PL/SQL function body returning SQL - report error:ORA-01403: no data found

I am working on Application Express 4.0.2.00.06, and 11G database.
I have a problem with classic report area of type - PL/SQL function body returning SQL query. Query works if I define region area as - Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only), and does not when I define it - Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query.
I am getting error:

IR Report Search - ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00936: missing expression

Hi All,
I had created a IR report based on a table and it was working with no issues. But after few days, when I try searching using the IR search bar it shows "ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00936: missing expression" error message. I don't see any debug messages or errors in the debug window. The Finder drop down is empty too, there are no columns displayed to filter.
When I recreate the IR report(new page) based on the same table, It works fine and there are no issues with the search. But the old IR report search doesnt work. I have not modified the any thing in the old report after initial creation. Report uses Primary key based on a sequence.
What might have caused this issue?
Is there a way to intercept the search query from IR report?
Apex version - 4.2.3.00.08.
