Download Webdynpro ABAP application(component) on desktop

Hi All,
How do I download Webdynpro ABAP application(component) on desktop(hard drive) from SAP system? I couldn't find a feature in SAP that I could use to achieve this functionality. Also after downloading the Webdynpro ABAP application(component), I would like to upload it back into the SAP system. Any ideas?

I have created a Webdynpro ABAP application from SE80.
now I want to move this same application to another SAP system.
Is it possible via downloading to flat file and uploading from flat file to destination system or something like that?
can anyone suggest some solution to this please?

Calling Portal iView from a WebdynPro ABAP application

Hi ,
I have a requirement where I need to call an iView in my portal from the Webdynpro application also existing in the portal.
Can anyone provide me the method with source code( if possible ) to call an iView existing in the portal from the WebDynPro ABAP application.

Well, I think you can go for Portal Navigation concept.
Please check the required source code in WDR_TEST_PORTAL_NAV Web Dynpro component. That will illustrate both Page based Navigation and Object based Navigation.

Error in webdynpro(ABAP) application development

Hi,
I am very new in webdynpro (ABAP) application development. I want to create some application based on webdynpro ABAP for few Z- Report. What is the prerequisite to develop a application based on webdynpro( ABAP ) .Because when I am trying to create application in se80 and giving the related functional model name in wedynpro component field , I am getting the error like Web Dynpro Comp./Intf. ZOS_xxx_FM does not exist. How to proceed further?

Popup for transport request in WebDynpro ABAP application

Hi there,
which function module can I use to prompt the user for the transport request in an WebDynpro ABAP application.
In SAPGUI I found 'TR_ORDER_CHOICE_CORRECTION' to do this but I get a short dump when I call this one from a WebDynpro ABAP application ...

The reason I get the short dump is the function modules I found call a dynpro screen inside for prompting for the request. I am not surprised this does not work for WebDynpro applications ....
So I thought there is a generic function module for WebDynpro applications available or a WebDynpro component I can use for this ... Sure I could build it by myself but this does not seem to be the right way for me since this requirement seems to be of a generic nature.
@Gaurav: I am interested to bring up a generic popup for prompting for the request. So I cannot use the flags to suppress the screen ...

Modification in standard webdynpro abap application

In my portal for some of my ESS applications are used in webdynpro abap for example travel expense and travel request now i have a requirement like i have to make the create travel expense button disable based on the condition llike i only he has to click create travel expense after creating travel request .So can anybody let us know how to do modofications in the standard webdynpro abap application.

For making changes in the standard web dynpro compoenent, you need to create and implement enhancement.
For this you can find many links in SDN on how to create enhancement.
Now coming to your specific requirement.
Here what you can do is open the standard component.
1. press ctrl +F4, It will open a popup there give some name to your enhancement.and desicrption . then press Enter.
Assign it to teh package you want.
2. Go to the view where you want to disable the button, There go to the layout and find the ID of the button. say it is 'BTN'.
3. Now go to methods tab, scroll right and selct post exit method of wddomodifyview emthod.
4. there write the code with the condition you want.
if flag eq 'yes'.
data lv_btn type ref to cl_wd_button.
lv_btn ?= view->get_element( 'BTN' ).
lv_btn->set_enabled( abap_false ).
endif.
5. one last thing is you can create a attribute named flag of type string and set its value to 'yes' when you want the button to enable.

Webdynpro abap application attached to SWFVISU is tested from se80

when webdynpro ABAP application is attached to workitem in SWFVISU the the workitem id is passed via url when calling the application. (though the url seen in the application in se80 in the webdynrpo abap component does not have workitem id paramter)

I am running this application from se80 - application - right click - test. (this is required to troubleshoot one of the issues.)
at this time it does not ask for workitem id and directly runs the application . It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id. the status of this workitem is complete in the system.

It is required to have a parameter WI_ID (as an Application parameter) in your WDA. And via this Application parameter WDA will receive the workitem id, when the task is exceuted from UWL (provided configuration is done in swfvisu)
Could you confirm, there is no Application parameter (WI_ID) in your WDA?
It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id
If you defined WI_ID in Application parameter and there is an option to provide value and it seems, you have defined some value over there or other way might be in your method (inbound plug), you may gave default value to WI_ID in the parameter
If your application is working properly from UWL and for testing purpose, you could put a breakpoint and change the workitem id, when executing from se80

Attach Interactive Forum to Workflow from a Webdynpro ABAP application

I have a webdynpro ABAP application which has an Interactive form. After the user enters the form and clicks on 'Submit', I trigger a workflow for Approval. My requirement is to add this same form as an attachment to the workflow. I know I can do this by adding the Fileupload UI element and letting the user browse to the file after saving it. But I want to attach it directly without the user having to save the form to Desktop first.
I tried passing the pdf_source(XSTRING) to the container and it does attaches a pdf to the workflow but when I open it, the form is blank and user entered values are missing.
Please respond only if you know the solution and don't send me links to other forums on SDN, I have read them all.

Apply custom themes to WebDynpro ABAP application in Portal

Hi,
We have just upgraded the E-Recruitment to EHP4. We have two instances of ECC in which one acts as HR instance and the other one for E-Recruitmet. We have created custom themes for portal and need to apply the same for the WebDynpro ABAP applications for E-REcruitment. I have downloaded the theme and from portal and uploaded the same in MIME folder using SE80 transaction. I have also added the parameter sap-cssurl=/sap/public/themes/<my custom theme folder name>.
Also tried giving the url in application parameter as
SAP-EP-THEMEROOT=http://<hostname>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.portaldesigndata/themes/portal/customer/<custom theme>
Is there any other way to apply themes for WD ABAP applications. I dont want to customize the standard applications and just want to apply the themes.
Any suggession on this is highly appreciated.

to create theme for webdynpro abap application, use Eclipse Plugin. Please remeber to check the version of theme file before using theme.

As i explained LIMU are subobjects like views as they dont have the seperate identity in repository so they have to be linked thru there parent component.
So when you transport whole component u can see there would be some entries in your transport list as LIMU types ( for views , windows).
OTR are text elements which u create for the elements of your view so u dont require to hardcode the text to be displayed as they need to be displayed in different languages so what you do is you create say button and for text to be displayed you create on OTR element under some package. now you give this package to your translation team to do all needed translations.
Yes DDIC types are from dictionary only but when you transport them so all newly created DDIC should also be transported.

Putting Webdynpro ABAP application on portal

Hi all,
We have SAP ECC 6.0 as the ABAP system and EP 7.0 SP 6 is the portal. I want to show a Webdynpro ABAP application on the portal which I have created in the ECC system.
I have an created an application in the back end with the following parameters :-
Webdynpro Component name :- ZTESTWEBDYNPRO
Webdynpro Application name :- ztestwebdynpro
I then created a Webdynpro ABAP iview with following parameters :-
Application name :- ztestwebdynpro
Namespace :- sap
System :- SAP_ECC_SERP (this has been tested and is working).
We also have SSO configured with logon ticket to the ECC system.
But I am getting a "Page cannot be displayed" error when I execute the application.
Any idea why this can occur?

Hi Hari,
So assuming you have tested the connection to the system,
perhaps another service, BSP, ITS , whatever
and that it is creating WEB DYNP ABAP iviews that is the drama.
Under EP 7.0, be sure to choose Iview type WEB Dynp ABAP.
the properties page with application parameters is:
SYSTEM -> As created to access system, available in dropdown
Namespace - > sap
Application name ->     <your WDA>    case as created in SE80
So it looks like you have entered correctly to me.
Perhaps the portal Forum has more info if you have continued issues.

User Roles & Authorization to run 'WebDynpro ABAP Application scenarios'

I am developer and my user ID is having developer roles, so when i am testing
'WebDynpro ABAP Application scenarios' it is working fine.
Problem is when I am executing with enduser portal WWID's (i.e. WWID's are also defined as sap
user), 'WebDynpro ABAP Application scenarios' giving me dump in screen & in ST22.
Pls guide me what roles or authorization we need to assign to user ID's
who can use 'WebDynpro ABAP Application scenarios'.

FPM Navigation - asking for Log on when calling WebDynpro ABAP Application

Hi Experts,
I want to call a Non FPM based WebDynpro ABAP Application from a FPM Component.
I have followed the method showed in the following thread by Rajkumar to call WebDynpro Application using URL.

I could successfully call my WebDynpro ABAP application using this approach,
However when the application opens in new Browser , it asks for log on again.
Can anyone help me to avoid this log in screen.

First create a WD abap component and then you have to integrate in the portal.
