Downloaded I tune to my new Computer and my downloads came up but they will not play. It says I must authorize them. What is that?
I downloaded I tunes to a new computer I bought. I signed in and my music came up. The songs will not play. It says I have to authorize them What is that? How do I get them to play?
There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Try deleting the entries from the Movies part of your library (i.e. where you are trying to play them) and see if you get the cloud symbol next to them for re-downloading in the Purchased link

The iTunes Store will direct you to the same article. As Hackintosh said, first delete the track from iTunes, allowing it to move the track file to the trash. Then in iTunes on your Mac, sign into your iTunes Store account and go here:
In the window you'll be taken to, make sure that the Music tab and "not on this computer" are selected, then locate the defective track in the list and click this button next to the track name:

I use my camera for video and photos. When I download my videos to my ipad1 using the camera connection kit, they will not play.

I haven't tried videos on my camera yet. Do you use the Videos App to play them? I don't think they will play in the Photos App.
If yours are in a format that is not in Vazandrew's list, you may need to sync them to your computer and convert them to M4V or MP4 format. You can use a program like HandBrake to do the conversion. <HandBrake> Once converted, you can sync them back to the iPad and they should play.
This may not meet your needs, but the alternative appears to be getting a different camera. I don't know of another Video App that might work.

Actually this happened to me today and although it would not let me play the file it allowed me to use that same file i had exported from iphotos but could not play and then it allowed me to open it in imovie (you can go to import and then get it from the desktop or wherever) although I made a couple of changes to it the main thing is once you drag it into the space to begin a new project you can then right click and select open in finder and that file actually plays......if its cause i made some changes to it i.e trimmed it slightly then its worth doing so.

I bought two audio books on iTunes but they will not play. My old books play without issue but the new ones do not.
Did you copy your actual iTunes content from your computer before reinstalling iTunes, or did you just copy your iTunes library which only contains the pointers to your songs / books locations ?
You might, depending upon your country and if they are still in your country's store, be able to redownload your music purchases and your ibooks via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage - you will need to delete the entries from your library (where you are getting the 'unable to locate' messages) before they will potentially show with the cloud icon against them in Purchased for redownloading.
Or copy them from your backup of your downloads/library and add them to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library -
my music is not on my ipod touch anymore but one of my other software called copytrans has my music backup so i got all of my music and videos back but they will not play in copytrans itunes or just my ipod touch itself please please help there???????????
there has to be a completley FREE software out on the whole internet downloads to fix my ipod touch musics completely free no money involved
please help me to fix this i jave all of my 6 thousand plus music with some videos back onto my ipod touch this happened to me this year well a week ago or two last year and also the years before to with or without any backups but i have my other software for that saved all of my stuff thank gosh but now nothings playing so i love itunes its the best but when it doesn't play or find my lots of songs makes me mad sometimes but anyways thanks for any or all the help you can to fix this problem

IDVD burns disc but they will not play back on same computer
Prior to this latest update of iDVD, I had ZERO problems with burned iDVDs. Now I can create and burn a disc in iDVD 6.0.3 but my computer refuses to recognize it as a playable disc. I put it in the drive and it spins and spins and after around 10 mins a screen pops up and says that it is a blank. But when I play it on a standard DVD player, it works fine. I recently updated Quicktime to the latest version. Something is wrong. Ah, for the days when you could call Apple about anything and they had the highest rated tech support in the world, now it can be really tough to get an answer. Can anyone give me some thoughts? I have the same problem. iDVD disks that I burn on my G5 will play on G4's, my PC, and all consumer DVD players that I have tried them in. But they will not play on my G5 that created them, and they never have. The disk just spins for a few seconds and then ejects. It never gets recognized and never mounts. There is no error message. I regularly distribute my DVD's to 20+ people, and the disks play on all of their players, though I don't know if anyone tried to play one of my DVD's in a G5.
I use DVD-R disks, and have tried burning at slower speeds (4x)from a disk image using Disk Utility, but the disk still won't play on my G5. On the other hand, my G5 will play iDVD disks that I have burned on a G4, and it will play commercial DVD disks.
I have seen posts from other users who have complained about this problem. I have never seen a fix or a suggested solution that worked. It would be great if you have seen something on this, or have some suggestions, that might lead to a resolution. Otherwise, I can live with it. -

I have downloaded some tunes form I Tunes and they are on my I Pad,but when i plug my Pad into my car system it does not show the albums i have downlaoded .
This means iTunes can no longer locate the file in the location its specified in under the Location section of the Summary tab of the track's Get Info window in iTunes. See here for more information.

I've made several videos with my iPhone 4S. I transfered all to iTunes and then to my iPad 2. They appear on the "Videos" app on the iPad, but not on iMovie. What can I do to change this? I would like to use iMovie on the iPad to edit these videos.
I have found that a good way to get them to the pad camera roll is thru an app called photosync Transfers the videos Wireleesly to the pad. If you already have them in the camera roll, just fire up I movie, create a new project, and the will show up in the selection of clips in the upper left. Drag them into the movie pane and do your thing. You really don't need to visit I tunes unless you need to get them onto the pad via the way Fred has described.

The songs show up on my itunes on my iphone4S but when I go to play them they just skip over to the next song.
I had to restore my phone and the last backup I did was corrupted and I had to use a back up from June, the songs that are being skipped over were purchased after then. But they are showing up on my itune on my laptop....

I have iPhone4. It has been working fine. I have not rebooted my phone lately, so I just deleted a few apps and thought I would do a soft reboot. I held down sleep button and home button. attempted to transfer itunes music from pc to new imac. didn't work. apple suggest using sharing method. main library of music is on pc. did those steps and shared library shows up on mac but when you click on the song to play it doesn't play or maybe ther is no content? any suggestions?
