You need to restore.
Everything should be on your computer, so you can just sync it back.

A reset has nothing to do with Internet access or data access.
A reset is simply pressing and holding the home and power buttons until the white Apple logo appears.

Me again. I cleaned out the headphone jack with a q-tip soaked with rubbing alcohol. Most of the q-tip fibre was removed to be able to insert it into the jack. After pushing and turning fairly vigorously for a half minute, I pulled it out and a large piece of pocket lint came out with it as well. The Ipod now sounds excellent.

However, I reviewed the two help articles and there appear to be more files than just the delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder. I am confused. Then I have to find the folders. I think help articles mentioned how to find the profile containing the files, but not sure.

If not then there is nothing you can do except restore the iPod and thus erase the iPod.

The original images are in your Library section - (events and photos). In order to delete them permanently, you need to select the image, and drag it to the trash in the left hand column of iPhoto, or go to "photos / move to trash".
This puts them in the iPhoto trash, and they are still not gone. To delete them completely, you must select trash in the left, then select to empty iPhoto trash.
All images you see in albums, or slideshow, are just short cuts back to the originals, in the events and photos sections. If you delete them from albums, they are still in the library section.
