Downloaded Mavericks from App Store and am receiving corrupt file message?

I downloaded OS X Mavericks a few times tonight, each time it starts to install and then I recieve a message telling me that it is corrupt and for me to remove and re-install again from the App Store, which I already did a few times already, why?

There is quite a rush to get new software on the day it releases.  Messages like yours happen on launch day almost every time.  You may need to give it a day or two.

  • Cannot download Mavericks from App Store

    Hello to all,
I just want to download OS X Mavericks from App Store and I get a simple error message:
"We could not complete your purchase.
OS X Mavericks cannot be installed on this computer."
And the "Learn More" button points me to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
I am doing this from my brand new Mac Book Pro 13'' Retina (Late 2013), running Mavericks 10.9.1.
My objective is to install Mavericks on my Mac Mini (a system bought at the beginning of 2013), whose original harddrive was replaced with an SSD. That is the reason I just want to do a fresh install on it.
    Waiting for feedback.
    Thank you.
    Marius

    Hi Thomas,
I should boot a Linux distro from USB just to erase the disk, although I would expect that as an option to be provided during the setup of the Mac OS X installation process.
Anyway, meanwhile I am following this guide here: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/apple-in-the-enterprise/how-to-create-a-bootabl e-usb-to-install-os-x-mavericks/.
While writing this response, I manage to follow the whole article and the result is successful for now: right now I am in the process of installing the Mavericks. Interesting is that after booting from the USB I also got "Your computer restarted..." error, but after that the reboot started the installation process. Then I manage to erase the SSD drive using Disk Utility provided during installation.
    Well... 5 minutes left. :-)
Again, thanks a lot for the quick answers!

  • In my macbook pro retina 15 inch there is installed mavericks but ı want to create recovery disk and ı need to download mavericks from App Store but it doesn't download??

Hey guys ı really need your help. I bought macbook pro retina 15 inch 2 weeks ago and it came with installed mavericks of course but ı want to create a recovery disk and to do that ı need to download mavericks installer from app store but when i click to download mavericks from appstore purchased part ı get a message says " Your purchasing process couldnt complete. OS X Mavericks cant be installed to this computer." How can ı solve this problem!??

One way around tis is to borrow a Mac that can run Mavericks and then the download will work.  You can use these instructions:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1167857/how_to_make_a_bootable_mountain_lion_ins tall_drive.html
Though they are for Mt. Lion, the same steps will work.
    Ciao.

  • Cannot download Mavericks from App Store - error 1004, then error 13.

I have previously downloaded Mavericks 10.9.5, but now I cannot a second time.  When I attempt to download, I get an error code 1004..hitting cancel gives me error 13. Yosemite will download, but I don't want it until the "bugs" are worked out - maybe version 10.10.2.
Have contacted technical support by phone and cannot talk to a real person, only the menu system..want a serial number for a Mac. Since my MacBook Pro is over 3 years old, says I must pay for a technical support session - $29 fee.
This is how to treat a loyal customer?  Pay for support for an App Store failure to download a free upgrade?

This advise (in theory) should work. However, there are no "hidden items", but there is a "manage" link
Clicking on that link shows me nothing other than 2 previously downloaded, and since removed, free items (free apps I tried but later removed).
There is no "hidden" Mavericks download, or for that matter, previously downloaded Mountain Lion.
(Which I also cannot download from the "purchases" page.)
There is a button labeled "Reset" which links to "Reset all warnings for buying and downloading" which I have tried multiple times with no positive result.
    No joy.

  • Downloaded iPhoto from app store and crashes as soon as I try to open

    Please someone help!!
I purchased iPhoto and downloaded it from the app store.  Haven't been able to use it.  It crashes and I get the crash report below.  I've looked on all the forums and I deleted the plist or whatever from the library.  I tried removing iPhoto and reinstalling.  I'm a new Macbook Pro user.  Have the 15" Macbook Pro running Lion.  My wife and I each have iPhone 4s with 5.1 OS and want to take advantage of the photo features.  Again, Thanks for your help

  • Can't download Mavericks from App Store "you have updates available" error

I am running Lion which came with my iMac and it's up to date. I wanted to finally upgrade to Mavericks so I started downloading it a few days ago, but cancelled the download because it was taking so long. So today, I went to start it again and now I'm getting the error: "You have updates available for other accounts Sign in to (my account) to update applications for that account." I have no other Apple accounts. I have searched for this error here an all over the web and performed all of the suggestions: repair permissions, Spotlight, you name it, I've tried it. I even had an older Mavericks install file on an external and it just bounced and wouldn't install.
    Any new suggestions?

OK, I'm answering my own question here in case it will help others.
I suppose you could call it user stupidity, but I'll say it's bad user experience on the part of the App Store.
I went ahead and clicked the "Install App" button, hoping I would then have the option to just download but not (reinstall) Mavericks. That is exactly what happens.
The App Store displays a warning to the effect of:
You already have Mavericks installed on this machine. Do you want to continue and just download the installer?
You click the 'Continue' button and you're good to go.

  • Can't download Maverick from app store

I am having troubles downlaoding Maverick for the App Store. I click "Free Upgrade" then "Install App" and up by the forward and back buttions the spinning wheel moves, but nothing happens after that. I am running 10.7.5 on a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.

    I'd try:
Restart and delete any partially downloaded bits of the installer that are in your applications folder. Then try the download again.
If that doesn't work, I'd restart in safe mode (restart and hold down shift until you see the Apple symbol), and try again.

    - Sign out of the App Store (in the Store menu)

    - In Finder - Go>Go to folder...  (or Apple-shift-G)
    - Paste in the following "~/Library/Caches/ "

  • I just bought aperture and downloaded it from app store. when I try to open the app I get a warning message that says: There was an error opening the database for the library "~/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary". The only option the is to quit. What is

I just bought aperture and downloaded it from app store. when I try to open the app I get a warning message that says: There was an error opening the database for the library “~/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary”. The only option the is to quit. What is wrong?

    Hi,
not sure what the problem might be, but you can try the following:
While pressing ALT+CMD on the keyboard, click on the Aperture icon in the dock: Aperture then opens in a special "recovery mode", and you're prompted to choose what kind of repair you need: Repair Permissions / Repair Database / Rebuild Database
Considering the situation, I'd recommend you to try "the "Repair Permissions" option first.
If that isn't enough (and it may well be the case), then go straight for the "Rebuild Database" option; it's a non-destructive opration anyway, but since you've just installed Aperture you shouldn't have anything valuable in the default library...
NOTE: if you do have some pictures in the library, instead, do a backup first! Time Machine is your friend
Another option would be to launch Aperture while keeping only the ALT (option) key pressed: Aperture will ask you what library you want to open, or you can choose to create a new one from scratch.
    Good luck!
    Corrado

puchased mountain lion from app store and tried downloading via store 4 times, always rcvg an alert stating "error downloading"
Is there any other mean to get the mountain lion.
    I ve a 512kbps connection.

I believe you have correctly identified your 512kbps connection as the source of the problem.
The Mountain Lion download is more than 4 gigabytes.  You should try hard to find a much better, faster, more robust connection.

The MBA may be used for light game playing. It's not designed for heavy games that demand lots of CPU and GPU power. So you need to determine if the demands of the games meet what the MBA can deliver. It's also possible you are trying to play a game version that is not wholly compatible with the version of OS X in use. This can cause issues with compatibility. It's important that your MBA possesses the minimum hardware needed for a game. Note that having the minimum hardware does not mean that the MBA is suitable hardware.
