Downloading a report

I have a requirement like a report is generated and stored in a directory.
What I need is while a user is through a browser, he has to be notified of the report generated for him and it should be possible for him to download that file?
Is it possible in marvel?

well, this isn't native functionality in marvel, but what you're asking is doable in a marvel application. i've seen at one customer's site a pretty straight forward implementation where they made pl/sql calls an oracle reports server from their marvel pages and then later showed a report region with html links to the resulting PDF files that were generated on the file system. again, though, this isn't native marvel functionality, so you'd have to code the calls to the report server of your choice on your own. as you know, we do have the built-in csv output functionality for report regions. you might want to consider using that feature to deliver report content as files to users' desktops.

Now my issue is I don't want to download the first column (which is the link column) i.e., the downloaded csv should have only column1 and column2. Can anybody help me with this.

hi experts,
i Have to display multiple tables in the word document . i am displaying the first table but when i try to display the second table it is getting displayed inside the first table. When i debugged , i found that that the cursor is still in the first row of the first table even after the first table is displayed and the second table is displayed from that cursor position. How to get the cursor position after the end of the table ie outside the table to the main document.could some one help me on this. Below is the code i have used.

Help me to download my report in excel format.

Here is my code below. On selection screen I am giving three inputs.
And There are two radio buttons present on my selection screen.
first one is for display the report.
second button name is generate(to export the report).
Clicking on the generate radio button will show the report.
There should be a standard button on the toolbar called GENERATE.
Clicking on that button will show a popup window asking to download the report either in .xls format or in .csv format.

My report is being displayed perfectly.But not getting how to downlaod the report in excel and csv format. Would u plz guide me what should I write within the export_report function of my program so that I can download the report. Kindly guide.

Download alv report in excel format in Linux

Hi All,
I am working on SAP GUI for Java in Linux PC. I have installed
Open Office.
After executing an alv report there is no spreadsheet option
to download the report in excel format .
Also, when doing Save as Local File -> Spreadsheet ,
the report is not downloaded in proper format.
So, how to download the alv reports in excel format ?

Save as Local File -> Spreadsheet
It will ask for Directory and file name with .xls format . Give proper name e.g. test.xls and save, and after saving file right click on the file and click on Open with "OpenOffice.org calc".
It will definetly work.

IR Saved Report - Download to CSV downloads Primary Report

Hi there
I'm using Apex 4.1, I login to my Apex application NOT using the developer interface (the developer buttons are not visable at the base of the page) as an end user would see.
If I run an IR report and then create a filter on the Primary report the report runs OK. I then click Actions -> Download and then Download the report output to a CSV file (correctly filtered) to a Excel spreadsheet. I then Save this report giving the report a Name and Description. I then logoff from the Apex application. So far so good.
I then login back on to my Apex Application. When I choose and run the Saved Report (described above - not the Primary report) the saved report runs correctly (applying the correct filter condition), HOWEVER when I then click on Actions - Download I seem to get the Primary report downloaded as a CSV file into my Excel spreadsheet - the filter condition that is applied to the saved rerport is ignored for the Downloaded CSV file. The File Downloaded is a new CSV file generated in Apex as reported in my Firefox 'Downloads' list.
Does anyone know if this is a Bug or have I not set up the IR correctly.

But it is useing one of the standard themes that was also updated.
Did you set the compatibility mode of your application to 4.1?

Download ALV report to PDF with Lights

Hi,
I have a requirement wherein, when i download ALV report to PDF which has Lights in the first column. My problem is these lights are not displayed instead i get the following in the PDF

OOX GREEN SIGNAL
Please let me know how to get the lights in the PDF o/p

U can convert any type of display(SF,ALV) to PDF.....
User Program rstxpdft4 to convert it first the O/P need to be converted into spool.

Data is not converting in XML format in output while download in report

Hi All, While downloading the report in XML format value '&' is not changing its XML format '&amp', but showing in debug mode and sam thing while download its not showing in output. showing in debug like; MS NA - DCS Tooling & Automation but in output showing the data like: MS NA - DCS Tooling & Automation because of this getting issue. In that case, it is correct.
Try replacing & with & before downloading xml in case you want & to appear as & in web browser view.

Error message downloading OBIEE Report to Excel "is in a different format"

Dear experts:
We just upgraded to 10.1.3.4.1 in our Dev environment and are seeing a pecuiliar behavior when we try to download a report to either "Excel" or "Excel 2000".
After selecting Excel (or Excel 200) from the Download Link, we get the following message that pops up:
The file you are trying to open 'Period Summary.xls' is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify the file is not corrupted and is from trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?
We are then given the choice of Yes, No, or Help
When I click Yes, the File does open, but why this message? I can see the users complaining about this message.

I found the link to MSDN site which states that this is a "known problem" and MS will provide a fix at a future date.

IE8 error while downloading a report

Hi,
When I download a report to excel or any other format while working on internet explorer 8, following error referring to common.js comes though the report gets downloaded.

If the version of OBIEE that you are using to download the report is 10g, then it does not support IE 8.

I am facing a problem when I try to download a report to Powerpoint. I used Pivot table and graphs.

Is there any way to download a report by web services or know its content?

Hi everyone,
I need to know, maybe, using web services or anyway I can if a report will show some result when someone executes it, or if it just will show no results.
I hope that there is any way to know the number of lines that will be returned from the report, or maybe download the report to a csv son I can open the file and know its content.

i clicked the download all button at the end of the list of my library iTunes which i believe is in the iCloud, i have iTunes match also, many downloads were reported as occurring over several hours and then received the warning startup disc is full (activity monitor shows 3.99 of 4 GB used) and then another stating the download had not occurred due to the disc being full. most of the tunes still appear to be in the cloud but the disc is said to be full, spent a good period of time trying to investigate what has happened but failed...I'm not well up on all of this as an old chap so any help would be wonderful.....

If you read the link I provided you'll get an idea of one way to maintain a backup of your music files, use Time Machine, and not take up as much room on the internal HDD/SSD.

You're asking about the computer's RAM. Increasing that will not increase the size of the internal storage available to the computer. You'd need to replace the HDD/SSD of the Mac, which, depending on what model you have may or may not be possible (with new models of Macs).

Dump in prodcution server while downloading ALV report to excel sheet

ALV report is working fine in bother DEV and PROD servers....but in production while downloading report to excel sheet it is going to dump.

But in development this problem is not there, iam able to download ALV report to EXCEL sheet.

Run a consistency check for your ALV and you will find out. See if you havent passed any unnecessary parameter to FM.

Downloading ALV report in excel and csv format

1.I have generated a report in ALV.
Now, I want a button 'generate' on my alv tooldbar.
How to do that?
2.Now clicking on that generate button will show a popup window containing the title 'Save list in file..'
And the window will contain two radio buttons to download the report in either in excel or in csv file format.
i. Spreadsheet(.xls)
ii.Spreadsheet(.csv)
How to get the popup window containing two radio buttons and having the options for downloading the alv report in the above file formats.

Thanks for your response. I'll try with the export button but also willing to know how to create button on toolbar.And by clicking on that button a popup box will come having two radio buttons asking to download the report either in .xls or in .csv format. I am looking for the subroutines for that.

If it is an ALV report you don't have to do any coding. You don't say which report it is.
If it is a report that uses write statements you can also export to a spreadsheet, but of course the cell matching is not quite as for ALV reports since the report creator decides the alignment. Use the menu item "System" => "List" => "Save" (the menu item names may be a little different since I have translated them from Norwegian).
