Your A20p will take on a significantly larger hard drive, I've had a 60Gb in one of my past ones and it worked fine. Theoretically, you should be able to install the largest available PATA drive (currently 250Gb), but I remember reading somewhere that there might be a BIOS limit at 137Gb.
Anyway, an 80, 100 or 120Gb HDD should work just fine even with the aforementioned (unverified by myself) limit.

Hard Disk Replacement for Toshiba Portege R500-S5006X

I have a Toshiba Portege R500-S5006X which is out of warranty. I would like to replace the hard disk. What hard disk should I purchase? What is the maximum capacity (size in GB), maximum RPM speed and size in inches I can use in this laptop? Will a SATA-2 hard disk work in this laptop? Any other information I need to know about the hard disk replacment? I would be happy to get an answer from an official Toshiba technician.

I don't know if the Toshiba people who post here are technicians, I suspect not, so you might be waiting for a while if that's the only person you would accept information from...
At any rate, the standard drive in that computer looks like it is a SATA 2.5" 9.5mm thick.
The following is a spec page for one of the stock drive options (they used a couple different drives, but pretty much equivalent)

As far as something of a larger capacity working, it should be fine, just keep in mind that a physically larger drive might not fit, so keep the height to 9.5mm

Hard disk driver for touchsmart tm2 1020

Hello:
I am unable to boot from my touchsmart tm2 1020 it seems bootmgr is missing. When I try to boot from recovery disks I made myself all options fail. I am trying to boot from a windows 7 x32 recovery disk I downloaded and it seems hard disk is not detected and that I have to load driver manually. Can anyone tell me which driver should I load?
If this also fails i suppose I should reinstall windows 7 from scratch.Notebook is more than two years old and microsoft tag in the down-side is not readable, I suppose HP support could tell me it if I phone them and provide the serial number of the pc, right?

Which hard drive is better for pro tools / final cut? ive read that solid state drives are faster with reads, but only 80% as fast with writes..

i got a SATA1 hard disk from toshiba model mk2555gsx and when i try to install any operating system it says it cant find any disk installed, my laptop is gateway model m-6804, i´ve donwloaded SATA drivers for my laptop ad it doest work, and i dont find hard disk driver from toshiba, please a dont know what else to do. thak you

First go into the bios and verify that the hard drive is recognized by the bios. If it isn't, then you either have a defective hard drive or a defective motherboard controller. According to the specs on that Gateway model it uses the same chipset that a lot of Toshiba Laptops use so it should support that hard drive. Please note that while Vista and Windows 7 have built in support for SATA hard drives, XP and Windows 2000 do not and will require integrating the SATA drivers into the XP install disk. ME, 98, and all previous versions of Windows do NOT have ANY support for SATA and will NOT work with SATA period.

The file name only has 6 characters and I'm not sure what the .mod format is. So that's why they are not seen by the iPad.
Another way to transfer. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

How can I get the information about my Toshiba hard disk drive.

I went to genius bar yesterday because some problems with the privies hard disk drive.
They gave me the toshiba as a replacement.
I wasn't required to sign any paper after that. Before when I got a replacement iphone or macbook charger, they both asked me to sign a paper. I don't know why this time is different.
Also I heard that Toshiba hard drive is worse than Samsung's.
By the way, I didn't erase my documents in previous hard drive, will anyone be able use or read them? Well, I saved many account passwords in that hard drive.

I think that Apple's using a lot of Toshiba drives these days - that was what was in my MacBook Pro (late 2011) when I bought it (and, one of these days, I'm going to get an enclosure for it and use it).
I wouldn't worry - Toshiba has a pretty good reputation.

Why is it looking for other computers at all, when I told it not to?

Wow, the wording in Migration Assistant is misleading. I've never used it before, so I thought I would try to copy my files from the external drive ... my old iMac died, but I managed to get everything I need off it, using the 'cp' command in single-user mode. So I guess I'll just have to manually copy the files from the external drive to the new machine. I was hoping that Migration Assistant might help somehow, but obviously not.
