Downloading "lost" episode error message

Hi I'm trying to download a "Lost" episode called "What Kate Did" and it downloads fine until the end when it gives me this error message:
There was an error downloading your purchased music. An unknown error occurred (0xFFFE7958).
Us the Check for Purchases command in the Advanced menu to try again later
Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried to download on different computers and the same thing happens. I managed to download every other episode except this one. Thanks
powerbook 12 inch   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

How do the computers connect to the Internet? Are they wireless, by chance, and/or all going through the same router? I've seen unconfirmed reports that a setting (being too restrictive) in a wireless router can cause download problems with the iTMS.
Also, look in your iTunes Music folder and see if there's a folder called "Downloads". If there is, and there's anything in it, delete the contents and try your download again.
If that doesn't seem to point to anything useful (particularly if the systems you've tried on are going through different Internet connections), contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them. I know that they're trying to pin down the cause of this problem (which has been reported by others).

Hi, I've setup my new mini ipad today, restored a backup from icloud and all is fine.  However, when I try to download my music, they almost completely download then an error message pops up saying "unable to download songs" - can anyone help please?

So it appears iCloud/iTunes Match isn't the issue - the error message would seem to be complaining about where the music is being downloaded to. So with this in mind:
In iTunes select Preferences and select Advanced. The iTunes media folder should be set to /Users/<your account>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music. <your account> would be whatever your user account is. If you see something else there I'd guessing it is a folder you don't have permission to write to.

i downloaded ios5 an error message 3002 came up now my iphone stuck on loading screen and itunes doesnt recognize my iphone.

A REPEATING CYCLE now i have No PHONE!!!! Help ME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    Try it...
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
i´ve done it and worked 100%

  • Cannot download pictures get error message

when trying to download pictures I get an error message. The Ipod "bill's ipod" cannot be updated. The disk could not be read from or written to. Am i doing something wrong or is there somethig wrong with my ipod?

It sounds like your iPhoto Advanced preferences are set to not copy photos during import, i.e. a Referenced library:
Check your Advanced preferences to see if that's the case. If it is the best solution would be to select the checkbox to copy the photos and reimport the photos from the flash drive.  Then check the new import. It it was OK you can delete the previous event with the "missing" photos.

  • Automatic Downloads and Strange Error Message: "You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days"

    Hi gang-
Yesterday I noticed that iTunes on my iMac had not auto-downloaded several new songs that I had recently purchased on my iPhone.    In iTunes Preferences, under Store -> Automatic Downloads, I always have Music selected so all songs purchased from any device using my Apple ID normally download automatically.
To troubleshoot this, I double-checked my Preferences and sure enough, Music was de-selected under Automatic Downloads.   I then Selected it and clicked OK.   Here's where it gets weird and I get this error message:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.  You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 84 days.
I read and re-read this message and none of it seems to apply to me.   I have only one Apple ID.   I am currently logged in with iTunes to that one Apple ID.   All my iTunes Music ever has been purchased with that one Apple ID.   I am not trying to associate this computer or any other with a different Apple ID.
I logged iTunes out and then back in again and tried all the above- but same error message.
So, as it is now, I am unable to turn on Automatic Downloads in iTunes.
Anyone know what the heck is going on?
    Thanks!
    Dave

    Hey gang-
Okay, this gets more and more bizarre.   I sent a support email to Apple and basically they said  "...it seems that someone else associated your Mac with their Apple ID. That's the reason your purchases won't download."
Yikes!   My wife and I live alone- and we have exactly one and only one Apple ID.    Would somebody have needed physical access to my iMac to do that?
Support then said "You can view which devices or computers are currently associated, remove unused devices or computers, and see how long before they can be associated with a different Apple ID from the Account Information page in iTunes on your computer."
Okay- so I logged into My Account in iTunes.   On the list of associated devices, my own iMac is NOT on that list.   But I am logged in under the same Apple ID I've had for years on that iMac.
So my big question right now is...if my iMac (that I've owned for 5 years) has somehow been dis-associated from my Apple ID, how do I find out what Apple ID it is associated with?
Thanks gang for trying to help me unravel a mystery.

PS- Here's an Apple Tech article on iTunes associations, but it doesn't really go beyond what we've discussed above:

  • Unable to download "source code" error message (on a Mac, this is not happening in safari so it seems to be a firefox problem)

Just in the last 24 hours I'm not able to download using Firefox for Yahoo mail. Tried it on Safari and it worked, but prefer Firefox as browser. I'm on a MacBook Pro. The message I get is:
"....part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
Try again later, or contact the server administrator."

I've had this problem for 3 years. And I can see that questions were posted by others in 2006. The only answer that works for me is to ignore the Firefox error message. Save the document from downloads onto my desktop. Change the .ashx ending to .pdf and confirm that. Then it opens in Preview.
Neither the Shockwave nor the Adobe tricks work on my mac.
How come Firefox can has not dealt with this error 4 years on and more "modernising" websites use this format? Please?

  • I have the lastest (10.7) I tunes software running on a 64 bit windows 7 system. Today it stopped running all of the tv shows I have downloaded. The error message says that a "problem has stopped i tunes from working and windows is shutting it down" ?

i have the latest (10.7) itunes installed on a 64 bit Windows 7 based system. Up unitil today I had NO  problem running the TV shows that I have downloaded from I Tunes.
Today it stopped running all videos. It loads the information in the top box about length & name. An error message pops saying "an error has caused I tunes to stop working". "Windows will check for a solution and notify if therer is a solution."
Music plays fine so i know that something works on itunes.
    Any ideas?

  • HT1926 won't download itunes, get error message concerning C runtime library

tried to update itunes, now it doesn't want to install itunes, keep getting an error message that C runtime library is not installed correctly

Follow the below procedure if you are using a Windows based PC.   I did not develop it, another forum user did, but I did insert 1 additional step in case you use a 3rd party software package to give your apple devices "Airprint" capability for your non Air Print capable printers (Such as Fingerprint).
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
Remove any 3rd party software which uses Airprint features (such as Fingerprint by Collobos)
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selectingRun as Administrator.

  • Cannot download updates without error message

Whenever I try to download my computer's updates, an error message pops up saying that I do not have sufficient admin privileges to download them. This is troubling because my account is the only account on my computer, and is clearly registered as an "admin". How can I fix this so that I can download my software updates?

Try repairing your permissions. If that does not work, try booting from your install disc and reset the admin password.

  • HT1725 In a download of an entire album, one song download was interrupted.  I have followed the instructions for resuming the download, but each time I attempt to resume the download the same error message appears saying the download was interrupted. Ans

While downloading an album in from the Store, one song was interrupted.  I have followed the instructions from apple about resuming the download, but every time I do so the same error message appears saying the download was interrupted.  I am having no connection problems, have rebooted my computer, downloaded the lates version of iTunes, etc., yet nothing changes.  Has anyone else experienced this, and are there any workarounds.  Sadly the problem hit on one of the best songs of the album.

I had the same problem so (assuming under the Purchased items in the Store you have a song stuck at 'Downloading'):
I went to Music, then Artists.
From there I chose the album.
The song that failed to download had the cloud symbol next to it.
I clicked the cloud symbol and the song completed the download for me.
(Please note this was in iTunes for Windows - I expect it to be similar in iTunes for Apple)
