Downloading URL on Mac

Question

Hi,
I have written a program which accepts a url of file to be downloaded from network. This program is working on Windows and Linux but not on Mac.
The code is
public static File getRemoteFile(String url,String outputfile) throws Exception{       
        File file=null;
        file=new File(outputfile);       
        URL url = new URL(url);
        URLConnection ex = url.openConnection();
        BufferedInputStream in=new BufferedInputStream( ex.getInputStream() );
        byte value[]=new byte[in.available()];
        in.read(value);
        FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream( file );
        out.write( value);
        out.close();
        in.close();
        return file;
