DPM2012 R2 Update Rollup 3 Install Problem

Hi,
the update came through WSUS and wouldn't install successfully. I also tried to install manually,
but it doesn't go through.
Anyone else having issuse with this update?
What I also noticed is, that VSS on the DPM Server itself was broken afterwards, and I found a VSS Null Provider and also a VSS Null Service that was running. Deleting those registry keys and stopping this service solved the VSS problem. Google didn't tell
anything about this service or VSS Provider, only a dll that was packed within UR3.
I believe it also had to do with the failed UR3 Update that was rolled back.
So happy to hear if anyone could successfully install it. The log didn't tell me a lot or I didn't know what to look after.
Thanks
Patrick

Thanks for your answer. When I downloaded through the catalog, the download worked fine, 4 files, all .exes though. Might be I have to dig deeper into it.
the last portion of the install.log shows following:

Not sure if the transforming table error mean a lot as those messages happen after UR3 update.
Only thing I am not sure, as I am getting the same error code as Ihab, if it could have to do with protection agent. But on the DPM itself, there is no separat installation of a protection agent, that could be uninstalled.
But seems quite some people have this problem as the comments of this blogpost...

The install pauses saying that Windows SBS Manager is using a file and needs to be stopped. Options are: Stop the service or Don't stop the service (a reboot may be required). Either option leads to a failure. The Event Viewer message is attached.
I finally disabled the service before running the install. The result was the same.

  • ITunes update 10.4 install problems.

Reading through all the communities topics on the new update 10.4 for iTunes, I though I would put my experience among them just in-case it helps somebody out.
First off, installing 10.4 iTunes and iOS 4.3.5 to my iOS devices was the worst thing I have ever done in my Apple life.  Both have created more problems that I can list, I was really looking forward to IOS 5 when it comes out but now seeing how Apple updates just seam to go from bad to dreadful I am now not looking forward to it.  Anyhow, this is about what happened when I installed iTunes 10.4
When I got the pop up that there was a new version of iTunes to down load and install, this in the past has always been a very good and easy install, from the press of a few buttons and 5 minutes later it was all updated OK, BUT this time it was not see easy and very long winded.  Again, I got the pop-up window saying a new version was ready to download and install, I clicked on it to do so but once it had downloaded and then stopped and I was shown a message saying that 'errors had occured but it did not say what these were.  This happened a few times so I gave up and contacted Apple Care, I was advised by them to remove iTunes fully from my computer and download a new fresh version and it would be OK, my worry was that if it was a problem with my computer then maybe the new version would all so not install so instead, I read lots of online stuff and looked at lots of different topics hear and found one option that looked to work for me, this was as follows....
I downloaded only the new update 10.4 and then found that on my computer, right clicked on it and selected to install manually, this all went through OK but looking what was going on on screen it was not the new 10.4 that was being installed but the software by Apple to carry out the install was being updated.  This took a few minuets and then it looked to all be down, I went back to iTunes and tried again to download and install then new 10.4 update and this time it worked OK, well OK to a point.  I have found several bugs in the new 10.4 as well as the new iOS 4.3.5.  I have listed two of them as chat topics.  There does seam to be lots of problem with these new updates and I really really hope that Apple puts a fix out soon.
All I can say is, if you do find any problems, please make sure you do a feedback form and let Apple know of it, the more they know the quicker we all get a fix.  You can leave update hear: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    I use Windows XP SP3
    iTunes 10.4
    iOS 4.3.5

This seems to broken for everyone.

  • Ditto 9.3.3 update "won't install" problem

I'm having the same issue that many seem to be having, I'm running AP 9.3.2 and when I try the update to .3, either from a fresh download from Adobe's site or through Updater, I get the dreaded "can't install" messages everyone else is seeing.  I've not changed a thing with my Acrobat Pro, just done the original install and updates as per Adobe's notification.  No plug-ins have been added, deleted or disabled.  This app is not part of the CS4 suite, but a standalone CS4 upgrade from my original CS Acrobat Pro.  Previous updates have gone through just fine.  I'm on a Quad G5, Leopard 10.5.8, all apps and system are running just fine.
Before I spend my afternoon like others have doing software voodoo to find a solution I was hoping somebody would have found an answer for this glitch.  Like maybe Adobe, since its their product.

Yep, with ya on the Powerbook G4, too.  I have the 1.5ghz 17", which I don't use much except to preview photos when shooting a commercial job, or just doing minor stuff.  At least Adobe left Lightroom 2 usable on G4.  This "keeping up with the hardware/software" game works well when the economy is well, but as we know it isn't and finding the cash to buy a Mac Pro and Macbook Pro just ain't in the cards for the time being, or forever?  Who knows.
For Leopard 10.5 I'd check eBay and other auction sites for the package.  I nabbed a new retail copy just before it Snowed for $50 from some seller on eBay, you should be able to find a similar deal somewhere.

  • How to Repair Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 once the update rollup or service pack is installed?

    Hello,
I am going through the following Technet article:
Repair Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 (
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh699749(v=crm.6).aspx )
The repair option asks for the original CRM DVD media location. The problem is that how the repair procedure knows about the service packs or update rollup files location?
My concern is that the repair procedure replaced the update DLLs (or other files installed by CRM service pack installer) by the RTM files in the original setup DVD.
Is there any special consideration for repairing Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 once the Service Pack or Update Rollup is installed?

  • Exchange 2007 SP3 latest update rollup

I would like to install the latest update rollup for Exchange 2007 SP3.  I was reading and found Update Rollup 12, is this the latest version?  No other update rollups are installed.
I did the SP3 update by installing on the hub transport first, then the 2 mailbox stores.

    Hi,
Update Rollup 13 for Exchange 2007 SP3 has been released on 25th February 2014.
Rollup 13 for Microsoft Exchange 2007 SP3 can be downloaded here:
Update Rollup 13 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 (KB2917522)
Informations about changes you can find here:
Description of Update Rollup 13 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3
One thing we need to take into consideration is the order to apply update on our Exchange servers, it should be the following:
    1. CAS  (if you have multiple sites, internet facing sites first)
    2. Hub
    3. MBX
    Hope this helps.

  • A list of files changed for Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3

    Hi.
Is there a list of files changed for Rollup 4?
After our RollUp installation, some files in the BIN directory still has the date of 2/5/2013 (SP3, no RollUp4), some has the date of 6/13/2013 (RollUp4)
Despite RollUp4 looks like to have been installed, Exchange Server still reports it's running "Version 14.3 (Build 123.4)"
    Thanks...

    Hi,
After you install an update rollup for Exchange 2010, the version of Exchange Server isn't updated to show that the update rollup is installed. This issue occurs because the version number that is displayed by the Exchange Management Console or by other
administrative mechanisms is obtained from the Exchange Server Object in Active Directory.
If you want to get the latest version of Exchange server, the article Andy provided is a good way.

  • Install or not install - exchange 2010 update rollup 4 sp3

    Hi guys!
We have Exchange2010 SP3 with update rollup 2.
Users with IE11 are having problems with OWA opening only in light mode. I have read on the internet that CU 4 solves this problem but on the other hand this CU makes additional problems with outlook 2007 clients.
Some of the comments of this issues from other companies are: In Outlook 2007 if you choose to change the current view with Arrange By 'Categories' the following is noticed: - Items that you set unread or read are not changed until you refresh the view
    - If you open an unread email by doubleclicking, it's status stays unread until you refresh the view. - New mail items are not automatically seen until refresh. This is a very annoying issue, and our servicedesk already received a lot of calls for this issue
Is there any workaround to fix IE11 OWA light mode and not corrupt Outlook 2007 user clients?
    bostjanc

It happens as MSIE token is removed from the user-agent string in IE11.  This made the Exchange team provide an update on the Exchange side to fix this issue. The workaround is to use Compatibility Mode in IE11 for OWA. As for the fixes:
2003: Use workaround, no fix will be released
2007: Use workaround until a fix is released, currently a fix is tentatively planned for release in E2007 SP3 RU12
    2010: Install
    E2010 SP3 RU3 or use workaround
    2013: Install
    E2013 CU3 or use workaround
O365: Issue is already fixed, no action is required

  • Installing Update Rollup 4 for R2. Question of post installation task

I will be installing Update Rollup 4 for Service Manager 2012 R2 on our Orchestrator, Data Warehouse, Service Manager and Portal Server as well as updating the client Consoles.
    Following MS article
    http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2989601/en-us?sd=rss#install.
A bit confused about the Post installation tasks. Particularly the following:
Resynchronize System Center Operations Manager mount point data
To resynchronize Operations Manager mount point data after you apply this update, follow these steps:
Disable all the Operations Manager configuration item (CI) connectors in the Service Manager console.
In Windows PowerShell, check the current execution policy by running the following cmdlet:
    Get-ExecutionPolicy
If the current execution policy is Restricted, set it to
Remotesigned by running the following command:
    Set-ExecutionPolicy –force RemoteSigned
Find the following PowerShell script in your System Center 2012 R2 installation directory:
    OMCIConnector_SyncMetadata_UpdateTimestamp.ps1
By default, you should find this file in the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Service Manager\PowerShell
Run the following command from the Primary Management server:
    PowerShell .\OMCIConnector_SyncMetadata_UpdateTimestamp.ps1
Revert the execution policy to the original value that it had in step 2.
Enable and synchronize the relevant Operations Manager CI connectors.
Make sure that all the mount point data is populated in Service Manager.
I am guessing they are talking about the System Center Configuration Manager Connector but not sure. We don't have a Connector for SCOM. If by OMCIConnector they mean SCOM, then I don't need to worry about this.  If would be nice if they would tell
you why you are doing this. I don't even know what "Mount Point Data" is.
Does anyone know if it would cause any problems if I skipped this step? I hate doing stuff when I don't know why I am doing it. For example, step 8 "Make sure that all the mount point data is populated in Service Manager."
    What does that even mean?
Also, I cannot even find the PowerShell script they are talking about in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\Service Manager\Powershell folder so are they talking about SCOM or SCCM?

All of the steps listed refer to the Operations Manager connections. none of these steps relate to the Config Manager connector.  If you are not using SCOM, or don't have a SCOM connector, then you can safely ignore these steps.

  • Sent Items Folder Showing Blank Messages After Installing Exchange Update Rollup

    Hi all,
Over the weekend I installed Update Rollup 8 on my Exchange 2010 SP2 servers.  Some users today have reported that their "Sent Items" folders in Outlook 2007 are either showing up as empty or populated with "Blank" items (depending
on how the fields are sorted).
If they login to OWA their items are all there.
The only commonality I can find between the people experiencing this issue thus-far is that they aren't using "Offline Mode" (which they should be, so I have been the support desk enabling it for the people calling in), but I am kind of curious
as to why this may have happened.  Does anyone have any insight they can share here?
Additionally, I have found the "outlook.exe /cleanviews" command which may help as well (have yet to try it on anyone's system where the problem exists), but it would be nice to know what the culprit may be.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Niko,
    Thanks for your reply.
As I mentioned in my original thread, I have not used the /cleanviews switch yet, as each person who has experienced the issue has had it resolved by enabling Offline Mode (weren't in Offline Mode to begin with).
Additionally, I have found that this issue has been around since UR 6 (see the comments section):
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/02/12/released-update-rollup-6-for-exchange-server-2010-sp2-and-exchange-2007-sp3-ru10.aspx
There are also some other threads on here where people have had similar issues that were either resolved by going Offline mode, running the /cleanviews switch, or completely removing UR 6 (like this one:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/211b662f-c5e6-4233-86b3-aaf7dd9408c5/outlook-sent-folder-all-email-items-missing?forum=outlook).
Unfortunately, as is my understanding, Microsoft isn't doing any new updates (other than security fixes) for SP2, which I'm stuck on at the moment until I remove an old archive program from my network.
So now I'm just curious as to if there may be a QFE or fix for this issue. I'll place a call to support if necessary, but I will need to grab some screenshots of users' Outlook that may still be experiencing this first.
