Drag and Drop in JSP

Hi all,
I want to add drag and drop facilities in my JSP pages such as i have two frames in a page and i want to drag a text or ms word file to the other frame. How can i do that.
Also, i have 5 different versions of of an MS word document in database. I want to use '+' or '-' sign to show all the versions of the document. For example, when a person first visit the page it will show the latest version of the document with a '+' sign on the left of the document so if i click that it will expand like it does in windows so i can see other versions. I know it is critical but can anyone please have any idea.
Thanks very much

Is this a search engine for lazy people ?

  • Drag and Drop file from a jsp to local machine

    Hello All,
    We have got a user requirement where, currently we have an attachment section in our JSP, where users are provided with the file download links,
    as the user clicks those links the file download pop appears.
    But now they ask for a drag and drop functionality, so that the link icon which they see on the JSP, if they drag it to there local machine, the file is downloaded
    to the machine. Am not sure if it can be done from a web page. Any ideas if at all this is feasible. Or any direction where i can look through.
    Thanks,

    But the other way around of dragging file which is on server, to the local machine...even if i have applet.. not sure how will that work.Neither am I. Just check the documentation / forums associated with the UI framework in question. This forum is for JSP/JSTL only. I can only tell how to embed an applet or webstart app in JSP, but nothing more than that.
    Any ideas around Activex stuff if any ?Terribly bad idea. It's a MS proprietary technology and it would work in only one certain webbrowser developed by the same company, so you would exclude about 40% of the world wide web population from using the functionality. Just use the standard technologies.

  • What's up when you drag and drop a table into a jsp page?

    Hi All,
    I was wondering what's happen in dragging and drop a table into a jsp page. This question because untill yesterday i had an application up and running, with a table displaying a number of rows of the database, and an action associated with an update into a database.
    The action is managed trough JNDI, defined from Preference-Embedded.......
    It was working.
    Then the machine hosting the db changed IP addres. I went into Webcenter Administration console, I've changed the connection string into the jdbc parameters, by updating the new IP address... but it's not working anymore! The log comes out with a big error, but basically it can't connect at the db!
    So, I think there is somewhere some reference to the old db.....where???
    Thanks
    Claudio

    Yes Shay,
    I got this error:
    JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.JboException, msg=JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.JboException, msg=JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.DMLException, msg=JBO-26061: Error while opening JDBC connection.
    in few hours I'll be able to give you the full stack.
    Thanks

    Hi Shay,
    Thanks a lot..you were right.
    I've located the ba4j on the webcenter server...and I've noticed that it was with the old address.
    I think it's a bug, cause on the local machine (before to deploy) this file comes with the right address.
    So next time, before to redeploy a new application, I think I'm going to fiscally delete the folder from j2ee folder.
    Thanks again for the help!

  • Drag and Drop rows between tables in JSP

    I have to convert a swing application into a web project. One of the screens in my swing application uses drag and drop of records between two tables. The key is that when one of the rows is picked and dropped in the other table values get allocated to each column accordingly. I need to bring this functionality into a JSP. There is no constraint on using Javascripts. Please help me asap.
    Regards,
    KK

    Yes it is possible, but not so easy. If you'll be at OOW this year, you can come to my session (S301752, Monday 13:00-14:00) - I will show something similar there. If you're not so lucky, you can read the excellent blogpost of my colleague at [http://rutgerderuiter.blogspot.com/2008/07/drag-planboard.html]

  • Running application from installer in vista prevents drag and drop

    Running a desktop application from Vista and Windows 7 through a wizzard, prevents doing a drag and drop from the desktop or another windows explorer to our java application.
    We are using a windows wizard to install the application once it finishes it launches the application within the application the drag and drop work perfectly, but I can not drag from desktop or external windows explorer into my application, dragging from the application to the desktop or to another windows explorer is working fine.
    If we run the application by clicking directly on the exe file (generated by the installer app), the application launches and do not present the anomaly (Drag and drop into a out side the applications work fine).
    So the issue might be related to the way the installer executes the application, that maybe have a different configuration or windows permissions are not set correctly when started by the installer.
    Both ways of launching the application have the same working directory the only difference i found was in the system environment (System.getenv()) the one that works has a SESSIONNAME key with a CONSOLE value in it, could this be the problem?
    Any idea on how to workaround this issue or some idea to look at the installer will be kindly appreciated.

    One idea is to use [Java Webstart|http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/javawebstart/index.jsp] *(<- link)* as your installer. It might not fix the D'n'D problem, but at least if you get to the point of telling Sun about it, they will care (at least) one iota about fixing it.

  • Image drag and drop

    Hi all,
    I am writing a program, with 2 JPanels, the first one is with 4 images (JLabel), I need to drag the images and drop on second JPanel. When the image is dropped, it should also allow dragging to desired position in that JPanel(through MouseMotionListener).
    I read a lot of examples about DnD, TransferHandler, I knew how to implement drag and drop between JPanels, but still have no idea how to implement both. Can anyone advise a brief idea how can I do.
    Thank you so much....

    Read this: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=57&thread=516990
    It shouldn't be a big streach to convert the panel to an image.
    If you have problems after trying this out, repost.

  • Drag-and-drop from bookmarklet not working in Firefox 13

    Here is our bookmarklet code snippet:<br />
    <br />
    <pre><nowiki>javascript:var%20r=Math.random()*100;var%20protocol='http://www.vflyer.com/main';if%20%20((location.href).indexOf('https')!=-1){protocol='https://www.vflyer.com/main'};(function(){var%20d=document;var%20s;try{s=d.standardCreateElement('script');}catch(e){}if(typeof(s)!='object')s=d.createElement('script');s.type='text/javascript';s.src=protocol+'/bookmark.jsp?r='+r;d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(s);})();</nowiki></pre>
    It seems that in Firefox 13, users can no longer drag and drop content from the bookmarklet into the browser. I tried disabling all add-ons but that didn't work. I also saw a thread about the Torbutton extension inhibiting drag-and-drop, but I don't have that extension. Any ideas?

    Do you mean dragging content from the pop-up iframe that the bookmarklet creates?
    Does it work if you use copy and paste instead of dragging?

  • Drag and drop in JTree's

    Hello,
    How/can do you do drag and drop of elements within or between JTree's.
    I am working on a bookmark editor program and need a tree control for sorting bookmarks in a heirachy.
    I would like some sort of insert line to appear between elements as an element is dragged, showing where it would go when droped.
    Also I want to be able to mark multiple elements for dragging.
    And also to be able to drag elements between trees.
    Is this in Swing an if so how do you program it ? And if not, how/can you go about adding this facitity.
    I am not asking for too much :) An I?
    Are there any open source programs that exhibit any of these behavious that I can use as a guide ?
    Hope you can help. Many thanks,

  • Drag and Drop on Page Component

    Hi,
    I have an edit configuration which looks like this:
        <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
        <jcr:root xmlns:cq="http://www.day.com/jcr/cq/1.0" xmlns:jcr="http://www.jcp.org/jcr/1.0" xmlns:nt="http://www.jcp.org/jcr/nt/1.0"
            jcr:primaryType="cq:EditConfig">
            <cq:dropTargets jcr:primaryType="nt:unstructured">
                <title-data-reference
                    jcr:primaryType="cq:DropTargetConfig"
                    accept="[.*]"
                    groups="[title]"
                    propertyName="./title" />
            </cq:dropTargets>
            <cq:listeners
                jcr:primaryType="cq:EditListenersConfig"
                afteredit="REFRESH_PAGE" />
        </jcr:root>
    The drop taget in the JSP is defined like this:
        <div class="<%=DropTarget.CSS_CLASS_PREFIX%>title-data-reference">
            <b>Drop it here</b>
        </div>
    When I use this in a "normal" component drag and drop from the content finder works fine. When I *** the same edit configuration and the same drop target code to my page component, which has sling:resourceSuperType="foundation/components/page" specified, the drop area is not recognisable as a drop area.
    Both component and the page component dialog have a pathfield widget defined:
        <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
        <jcr:root xmlns:cq="http://www.day.com/jcr/cq/1.0" xmlns:jcr="http://www.jcp.org/jcr/1.0" xmlns:nt="http://www.jcp.org/jcr/nt/1.0"
            jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget"
            fieldLabel="Titel"
            name="./title"
            rootTitle="Titel"
            xtype="pathfield"
            rootPath="/etc/xxx/titles">
        </jcr:root>
    Is a page component different from a "normal" component so that it does not accept a drop? Am I missing something else?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ronald

    Hi Jörg,
    good to hear from you.
    This would not really do what I want. I want to be able to associate a title (in my case a book title) with a page by dropping it on it. Then I have multiple parsyses (e.g. center, east) on my page and can drop components onto these which will display content from the title associated with the page.
    Currently I can only drag titles onto each individual component. If I followed your advise I would still have to drag the title onto multiple parsyses. Therefore it would really be helpful if CQ allowed you to drop stuff onto a page.
    In my opinion this would also be helpful for the geometrix outdoors example where one drops products onto a product-component. As soon as you want add another component to the page displaying different data from or based the same product you would need to drag the same product onto that new component.
    Best,
    Ronald

  • Drag and drop a bounded task flow in a jspx page

    Hi!!
    I am using jdeveloper 11.1.2.1 I had created a Bounded task flow which contains a jsff
    page.While i am trying to drag and drop this Bounded task flow as a region in jspx page
    am getting the error as
    Cannot create a region from a taskflow containing facelets fragements in a
    jspx page.

    see the difference between JSP XML documents and Facelets-
    http://oracleadf-java.blogspot.in/2013/05/beauty-of-adf-taskflow-difference-bw.html
    both are different view technology.
    Always Remember if
    fragment is .jsff (JspXML type)-- main page must be of JSP XML type (.jspx )
    fragment is .jsff (Facelets typee)-- main page must be of Facelets type (.JSF)

  • BUG - Drag and drop an image, only working at the 2nd try

    I use the last version of JDeveloper : 11g R1 : 11.1.1.2.0
    I try to drag and drop an image in a facet of a panelsplitter.
    Once the page is loaded, the first time I try to drag the image, it does not work : the image does not follow the mouse.
    When I try to drag the image again, then it works : the image follow the mouse
    So I don't think it's related to the destination/target.
    I feel it's so simple, since it just requires to add <af:componentDragSource/> inside <af:image/>
    that if it does not work, it can only be a bug in the functionality offered by ADF ...
    Or maybe there is something wrong with the generation of the page ?
    I get this message in blue in the "running log of WebLogic" :
    <FormRenderer><setupEncodingContext> Multiple forms detected on viewId: /myPage.jspx. Rich client currently has some limitations in dealing with multiple forms.
    Please note that I use jsp:include inside f:subview to include fragments (.jsff) so that the source and the destination are not in the same file, the source in a .jsff while the destination is on the main .jspx
    The code related to the drag and drop :
    <af:form id="form">
    <af:panelSplitter orientation="vertical" splitterPosition="70" id="psHeader" clientComponent="true">
    <af:panelAccordion id="paPref" discloseNone="true" styleClass="fullSize">

    <af:dropTarget dropListener="#{dropHandler.handleComponentMove}" actions="MOVE">
    <af:dataFlavor flavorClass="javax.faces.component.UIComponent"/>
    </af:dropTarget>
    Any idea ?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    no bug that I can detect here as it works for me with the same setup. How likely is it that the image is too small so that you don't grab it probably the first time?

  • Drag and dropping database objects in Jdev

    I evaluated Visual Cafe and deciding wheather to go with VC or JDev. One of the cool things I noticed in VC is that one can drag and drop database objects in the form using DBNavigator. I haven't seen anything similar in JDev 3.1. Does this or something similar exist in JDev?
    Regards,
    Mark

    Mark,
    Yes, the DB Navigator in Visual Cafe may provide a nice simple look at the database Tables - but so does JDeveloper's Database Navigator - VC may excel in the Drag and Drop functionality - but this is not the real objective. Let me explain...
    When creating a real enterprise level application in Visual Cafe, you begin to discover that DB Navigator along with it's nifty Drag & Drop is no match for JDeveloper's unprecedented level of database integration. JDeveloper's Database related integration includes (but not limited to):
    - JDevelopers Database Navigator
    - Integrated SQLJ environment
    - Tight Business Components for Java (BC4J) integration
    - Wizard driven Form generation (thin & thick)
    - DAC Controls / InfoSwing components
    - Named Connections / Connection Manager
    - WebBeans / JSP Element Wizard
    The closest thing in JDeveloper to what you are referring to in VC is JDeveloper's support for the Design mode which allows you to design both graphical and non-graphical elements. In particular, JDeveloper allows you to design your InfoSwing and InfoProducer components using the Designer - by selecting the component (JavaBean) from the Component Palette and then [Dragging Optional] Dropping it on either the Design Canvas or the Structure pane (lower pane of Navigator window).
    For non-visual elements (such as InfoProducer elements), the Structure pane allows for Creation via Drag & Drop and allows for property setting by using the Property Inspector (Since it is a JavaBean...).
    There are many reasons why JDeveloper provides a much richer and more productive development environment than Visual Cafe. Most have to do with seeking a complete enterprise level solution. JDeveloper adresses the enterprise level application developers needs directly with integration of elements from Tools & Wizards to the integration of a complete application development framework - Oracle Business Components for Java - No other tool can provide you with such a rich and productive development environment.
