Drag and Drop to matching area

I have am image that has been sliced and each slice has been
made into a movie clip and put into an selectImage: array. I have
matching movie clips also put into a (parell) matchImage:array. I
am trying to drag each movieclip onto it's matching movieclip. If
there is no match then the movieclip goes back to it's orignal x,y.
Can someone point me in the right direction.

You don't have to use arrays at all if your naming convention
for your movie clips is what you have listed and they are all
instances placed on the stage. Actually your code is quite close to
working, you just need to use the proper syntax. Note that your
code doesn't allow for the dragged movie clip to have a z-depth
that's on top of all other clips. For now you can fudge that by
manually arranging the matching movie clips in your movie so that
they're all farther back than the draggable movie clips on the
stage.

Files and images that are already on my desktop will not respond when I try to 'drag and drop' them, for example into the trash or iPhoto.

Drag and Drop error - icons are stuck to the cursor

For the last few days when I try to use drag and drop, the items stick to the cursor and cannot be dislodged without a force quit or a reboot. That is they drag, but they do not drop. This is really sub-optimal.
Has this happened to anyone else? How do I fix it?

Idiot question - How do I re-install Leopard? No matter what I do, it kicks the disk out on restart. I have tried using the 'install' command on the disk, nothing. It kicks the disk out and boots from the hard drive. I have tried rebooting holding down the 'c' key to force it to read from the drive, it still kicks the disk out and boots from the hard drive. What else should I do?

Someone suggested a solution involving permissions. I fixed my permissions. Drag and drop is still not working.
There was also a set of commands to type into terminal that would supposedly fix the issue, or perhaps it was a Spotlight issue that the thread had morphed into. I did that. Drag and drop is still not working.
Am I just totally hosed? Help!

Icons wont drag and drop onto particular area

Ok on my desktop there is a section of my desktop on the left side (basically the area underneath where my dock comes out) where i cant put any icons or documents of any description. The rest of my desktop is active and can be used but this one little vertical bar of space is dead. Is there any way to fix it?

If you're talking about this area, it's the divider bar. You can't put anything in this space.
Programs on one side, folders on the other.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Ms word drag and drop files

I have switched from a PC, but always used Word. I have always organized my documents in folders, often just drag and drop. Can you tell me how to move Word Files into Word Folders by dragging and dropping?

Where are you trying to drag from and to? Post some screen shots if that helps you clarify. Press command-shift-4 and drag a rectangle around the area on the screen that you want to capture. Then click the camera icon in a reply here and select the screen shot file on your desktop to insert in your message.

Drag and drop or place multiple images

Hi,
I'm working with Photoshop Elements 12 and would like to place multiple images (on different layers) in my project but am only able to place one image with the option "place" at a time. Is there a way to place multiple images at once?
Other option that works in Photoshop is drag and drop mutliple files from my finder window (I'm a MAC user) into the open project. This would create multiple new layers with the imported files. This doesn't work for me with Photoshop Elements 12. When I drag and drop, new projects are created with the imported files.

Thanks LarryHN thats helpful. I've just tried that and the export 'current' option does indeed re-create the edited photo file with exactly the same file size at that shown in iPhoto. I did consider the 'current' option but was put off by the loss of the metadata with this option. But maybe the old drag and drop approach was the same?
It's curious that the resulting file size from 'export, current' is different (larger in the example I just tried) in comparison to that resulting from 'export, jpeg' (with either the medium or high option selected).
OK there seems to be a couple of reasonable options available although neither is as nice as the simple 'drag and drop' which used to be available!!! Why would they remove that option?? (and yet not for single files?).

Moving answers in a quiz once they have been matched to a target in using drag and drop

I am having a problem with some of my drag and drop quizzes that I'm wondering if anyone you might be able to help me with?
In some drag and drop quizzes I have created, using the Infosemantics drag and drop light widget in Captivate 5.5, I can move the answer after having matched it to a target but before submittting. Whereas in some quizzes I have created, the answers get stuck and do not let me move the answers after I have matched them to a target, even though I haven't submitted. This leaves me no choice but to clear all my answers and start again if I have made a mistake.
Please can you tell me how to enable the answers to move even after they have been placed on a target?

Pay particular attention to the section entitled: "My drag and drop question works correctly sometimes, but not other times. "
From the appearance of your slide, it looks like you may have removed some of the components from the quiz slide that are necessary for it to function correctly. Try the test that this section of the troubleshooting suggests so that you can see if this is the case. If it turns out that you have deleted some items, you'll need to recreate your quiz slide to get them back again.

HTML5 matching quiz drag and drop reveals TOC menu

Not sure if this has been reported as a problem converting Captivate 7 lessons to HTML5.
In several lessons there are Matching quizzes which allow drag and drop of the answer to a blank in the text or selection from the drop down menu by matching numbers in the text.
Here is a link to an example lesson containing a Matching quiz. The quiz is on slide 5. The easiest way to get there directly is to use the TOC Menu to navigate to "Test What You've Learned".

If the user trys to drag the answer on an iPad 2 the TOC menu also appears from the left of the screen. This seems to be a problem related to gestures.
Does anyone know of a way to solve the problem or is this something that Adobe has to fix?

I would imagine they are not. I would be extremely difficult for someone the is vision impaired to accomplish a drag and drop.
You need to put a link on the page that will redirect the user to a multiple choice or series of multiple choice questions for an equivalent experience.

If you have Pages you can create customs pages for your book as TD suggested. If you have Pages from iWork 09 or 11 this app will add 80 or so additional frames to those offered: Frames and Strokes Installer. Don't use it on the latest Pages version, however.
This tutorial shows how to create a custom page with the theme's background: iP11 - Creating a Custom Page, with the Theme's Background for an iPhoto Book. Once the page is complete to get it into iPhoto as a jpeg file follow these steps:
Here's how to get any file into iPhoto as a jpeg file:
1 - open the file in any application that will open it.
2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
3 - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
NOTE: If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 300 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
4 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto. For books to be printed choose 300 dpi.

I bought a 5th Gen Touch. I use iTunes 12 on two computers. One computer allows me to drag and drop. The other does not.The one that allows it has problems. Any idea as to why I can drag and drop on one and not the other. Both are authorized.

I first connected the Touch to my desktop and it allows me to drag and drop mp3 files from my old Classic, which is backed up to a directory. Unfortunately, that computer has gone down before I got a chance to fill the Touch. I have the files on another computer but when I connect the Touch to it, it doesn't allow me to drag and drop the files. I have iCloud set on both systems and I have manual management check marked. I'm not understanding why it allows drag and drop on one PC and not the other when they are both set the same way. My question? What do I need to do to be able to drag and drop in iTunes 12? I didn't do anything special on the computer that allows it so I am at a loss.

Safari for Mac, webpage with Java applet, drag and drop area not working.

At my company, we have a web page that our users access to submit media files, (QuickTime, Audio, images...), for transcoding for delivery. The web page consists of a java applet, with an area that our users drag and drop media file into.
After updating to Safari 5.1.2, the applet will not work anymore. Instead, the browser will "open" the quicktime and play it, instead of allowing the Java Applet to do it's job.
CAN I TURN THIS FUNCTIONALITY OFF??
I read that Safari 5.1.2, (when it was initially released), broke something with the THEN current version of Java, and everyone was awaiting the latest update (build 1.6.0_29) to fix it. Unfortunately, this update did not fix my issue with the functionality of dragging and dropping media files into the web page.
It seems to me, as if, there is an over-arching functionality setting (or something) that needs to be either turned off, or in some other way DE-prioritized.
Anyone have any ideas?
