Drag & drop stops working when I drag outside the top-level window

I have implemented drag & drop in my application, using the pre-JDK 1.4 approach. It works fine until I drag outside the top-level window, then back in again. My drop target receives a dragExit, but doesn't get a dragEnter when I drag back in. It then gets frequent calls to dragOver - but the DropTargetDragEvent says there are no DataFlavors available.
Is this a known problem with d&d? Is there a known workaround?

I could really understand that it annoys you. I tried it on my machine and the "save as" dialog box is placed correctly. I couldn't pull the box out of the monitor because the menue bar keeps me under it.
Do you have the application frame activated? Try turning it off. "window > application frame"
The problem might be here: The behaviors of the menu bar and dock are adjustable. Go to the system prefs and try playing around with the Mission Control settings. At work I have menu bar and dock on both monitors. At home I set the prefs so that only the main screen has menu bar and dock.
I'm just guessing. Don't beat me if this doesn't help.

    Hi，
    So switch a LAN card fix this issue...seems a compatibility issue or maybe some packs or programs you installed recently cause this issue.
    Have you manually check the network adapter driver from the PC's manufacture website? sometimes, it will be a time delay before Microsoft push out the driver update.
    Check if issue exists in safemode with network, this mode will launch Windows with limited sets of files and drivers. 
    if you have a restore point, restore the pc to a previous point at which the pc is functioning fine.

    The + sign button that opens a new tab (called Untitled) stopped working. When I go to File, and click on New Tab, that does not work either. I checked the Options and made sure the "Open new window in new tab instead was checked. I tried System Restore, and I downloaded and installed Firefox 5.0. The + sign still does not work.     Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

    Whenever I click the grey menu bar (artists, genre, videos, playlists, match, etc) iTunes stops working and Windows has a pop up that says it's closing.   • 'iTunes has stopped working' when attempting to access the store

    This is driving me nuts, had this problem for almost two months now.
    On my Windows 7 laptop iTunes is opening fine (able to play music etc) however trying to access the store leaves me with a 'iTunes has stopped working' error message, followed by iTunes closing.
    I have NO IDEA what is causing this. I've tried numerous fixes from other threads e.g. copying Qwin files (whatever it is) to it's appropriate folder, redownloading, trying on different user accounts but no luck. I have a feeling this is to do with my account/iTunes match but cannot be certain.
    On my mac iTunes works fine - I can access the store, play matched music etc.
    Desperate for a fix to this! Anyone got any suggestions?

  • Why does Creative Cloud Setup stop working when I re-install the program?

    I have Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC trough Creative Cloud. But then Creative Cloud stopped working -and now I need help to get CC  running again.
    I have read the troubleshootingpages and this is what I have done so far:

    Restarted the PC
    Downloaded and run CreativeCloudSet-Up.exe
    After about 5 minutes of downoading and installing:

    whenever i go into the store it will say that itunes has stopped working it loads about half way but then stops what is going on? how do i fix it?

    I have been having the same issue the last two days. I'm using my computer, Windows 7, 64 bit, completely updated computer. Ran diagnostics which found nothing, no firewall issue, etc. Wish I could help you but I haven't found any way to fix it yet either, still running tests.

    I have a problem with iTunes where it crashes, only when the wifi is on and connected to a network.
    Usually it occurs when I click onto another application outside of iTunes.
    I've tried reinstalling both iTunes and the Apple Application Support but the problem still occurs.
    I'm also on Vista if anyone has any ideas that would help?

    Along with the audio control surface, this would be a VERY welcome feature in my opinion.
    For those concerned about CPU drain, it should be possible to turn this feature on or off.
    When I'm editing fluidly in FCP I do in fact leave the timeline playing whilst I go to other windows to select an effect, tweak a bit of audio or even move to a different app - there's nothing unusual about this at all.
    Ultimately we all have our own ways of editing, but trust me, when you've been used to (and seen the benefit of) an NLE 'feature' you really miss it when the manufacturer chooses not to include it.

  • 3G SERVICE STOPPED WORKING WHEN I UPDATED TO THE iOS 4!!

    FIRST OF ALL, I HAD NO PROBLEM UPDATING MY PHONE, THE ONLY THING WAS THAT THE NEW UPGRADE TOOK 3 HRS TO DOWNLOAD. WELL WHEN I PUT THE NEW OS ON MY IPHONE 3GS MY 3G SERVICE WOULD NOT. MY WIFI WAS FINE AND I COULD CONNECT TO ANY HOTSPOT, IT'S JUST THE SERVICE. IF I GOT IN THE CAR I COULDN'T USE MAPS OR ANYTHING.. I CALLED TECH SUPPORT AND THEY TOOK ME THROUGH COUNTLESS TROUBLESHOOTING TECHNIQUES. MAJORITY OF THEM DIDN'T WORK. I REBOOTED MY PHONE AND EVERYTHING. FINALLY I HAD TO RESTORE MY PHONE, WHEN RESTORING IT FROM A BACKUP OF MY PHONE THE 3G STILL DIDN'T WORK.. THEY "BUGS WERE IN MY FILES". I HAD TO RESTORE IT AS NEW AND SYNC EVERYTHING BACK TO MY PHONE INDIVIDUALLY...MY 3G IS WORKING NOW, BUT ONE THING FOR SURE IS THAT THE iOS 4 REALLY WASN'T READY FOR THE MARKET.

    It appears that your upgrade to IOS4 also has made your computer's caps lock key stick.

    Hi I am using Itunes 12.01.26 on a Windows 7 PC
    My library is saved on a nas server and the network drive is mapped.
    I have an ipod 5 and Iphone 5s
    Up until october this configuration has works a treat however since about October I have had difficulting in Syncing.
    I cannot sync my music  - everything i try fails so as a last resort i have tried to restore my devices.
    Itunes stops working when it gets to the stage of copying the apps.
    I have read a suggested solution to move the library to the local C drive but this does not seem to be reasonable solution particularly as my library is large.

    Same problem here with Win 7 64 bit & iphone 4.  It all started a few weeks ago with itunes upgrade 10.4.8.   After about 20 hours wasted time, uninstalling and re-insstalling all Apple products in the suggested order as suggested on another forum.  Still had the same problem.  Will sync fine until I check the "videos" tic box.  Itunes stops working in the step of "optimizing photos" (????).  If I go back and uncheck "videos" tic box, iphone4 will sync just fine.  BUT now all my videos previously on my iphone are on the PC.  I would like them back on my phone! 
    I gave up and went to the Apple Store to visit with a Genius.  Took my PC and everything with me.  It was not from lack of trying, she did all the same stuff I did and checked everything over.  Could not fix it.  She said it appeared everything on my PC was set corrrectly and the problem was probably with itunes.  Said she always waits a little while when updates come out to make sure there are not bugs before putting them on her stuff.  Lesson learned.
    I hope with Steve Jobs gone, this is not the future of Apple
