Drag'n'Drop on Web Parts In Edit Mode Not Working When X-US-Compatible Is IE=11

Hello,
when the compatibility settings are above IE=10 the web parts cannot be moved between/within the web part zones.
Steps I have done to reproduce this on clean environment:
Created a new sharepoint publishing portal
Tested on the default page that web parts can be moved in IE 11
Downloaded the master page seattle from gallery
Replaced the following line:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=10"/>
with:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=11"/>
Uploaded the master page to the gallery.
Published major version.
Entered edit mode on the default page.
The web parts cannot be drag'n'dropped.
Do you have any idea about a fix for this?

Every application can't come automatically configured to work with every other application, even if they're both from MS. Tweaks here and there are going to be required. If you go in and make a settings change and then everything works fine, I would call
that "fully supported."
Also, you WANT a solution that doesn't require IE changes, fine. But did you at least try and see if these changes affect anything? We need to at least do our due diligence in troubleshooting and root causing before we can ask for particular solutions my
friend.

I've made a drag & drop interactivity, I am adding a button where the user can get the correct answers for that interactivity.
using advance actions / Standard action / and apply custom effect (right to left ease) in captivate 7.

Drag and Drop from Photos app to Safari does not work (Regression to iPhoto)

Drag And Drop from the new Photos app to Safari does not work. This worked perfectly with iPhoto before.
I use this a lot to upload photos to a Wordpress blog. Is there a way to make this work again? Its a major regression to the old iPhoto behaviour -- at least for my workflow.

Adding a MeshView as part of another class not working when returned?

I have a class that extends box, to get the properties to display it as a box, or else have the option to display it as a 3D image/Mesh.
I have this code

Granted there are many more methods and variables I just wanted to show what I needed. Basically I have a 3D importer class, which I'll post in a second, which imports the data for the mesh. From there I return the TriangleMesh and then set it to a MeshViewer that is setup currently as a constructor call in the Face class, and then I set it to a group using the getter method.

Well basically I wanted to have a class that was originally a box, but then would have a 3D image. The converter that came out a week or so ago imports it as a Mesh, so I wanted to be able to have it return a mesh if it's a 3D object.
I was just confused how it would all work. To make a box, I assumed I had to extend the box, and great it based on that, or shape. Maybe it would just be easier to save the TriangleMesh, then load it into a MeshViewer in another class. I figured I could just make a viewer in the class and just add that viewer, but maybe that's not a good idea.
Now I realize that I can just make everything a 3D mesh, box included, so I can just make it a viewer with additional properties like my box was supposed to be, or maybe just the mesh itself, then add it to a viewer later, thoughts?
I'd appreciate any insight on the class structure that I'm confused about, thanks!~!!

That would be very surprising but a change was made to Firefox 4 to always have the choice of going to History ("Alt+S") and choose "Restore previous session".
With Firefox 5 coming out in a few days (June 21-22) you might try again then, if the solution the developers built in does not work for you. Do you know about pinning tabs ('''app-tabs''') they persist across sessions as a convenience -- if I really want to keep something permanently then I would bookmark such things as a group. Because they can be closed easily.

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and with it I got the latest Firefox. There is nothing like learning 2 things at one time. On my old XP and 3.? all I have to do was drag and drop a web address into a link toolbar. Saving all my frequent visited or just sights I want quick access to, to a toolbar quick button. I have been playing with this for days and decided to try this Forum. I did find the Bookmark toolbar, but cant seem to figure out what is if for or if you can drop into it. When I right click it and Customize, it shows me add on buttons, but nothing to do with web addresses or alike...
Bottom line; I want to be able to drag and drop a web address into a toolbar for recall latter and be able to edit the address with a right click at a latter date in necessary...

You can drag and drop the favicon also known as the [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Site+Identity+Button site identity button], at the left hand edge of the location bar onto a toolbar to bookmark the site.

Issue with web part connections : won't display data when the lookup field is a calculated field

I have a list A with a calculated field named A.A. I have a list B that has a lookup field to list A, to field A.A, named B.A. I add the two lists in a wiki page and I try to connect them - I.E., select a row from A and the rows from B would be automatically
filtered.
The B\Connections\get filtered values from A and select Provider:A.A, Consumer B.A doesn't bring any results. If I do the exact opposite: A\Connections\get filtered values from B and select Provider:B.A, Consumer A.A works fine. But, this is not what
I want.
If the A.A isn't calculated field, everything works fine. So, it looks like there's an issue with calculated fields acting as consumers.
Is this a known issue and are there any know workarounds? A workaround is to abandon calculated field and use sharepoint designer workflow.

According to your post, my understanding is that you had issues about connecting web parts.
I try to reproduce the issue, however, everything works well.
Create a custom list named List A, add a caculated column named A.A(Formula: =Title).
Create a custom list named List B, add a lookup column named B.A(List A: A.A).
Create a page and then insert the two list view web parts.
Edit page, select List B->Connections->Get Filtered Values From List A.
Then I can filter the List B.
I recommend to create another caculated column and get filter value form it to check whether it works.

2013 Custom Web Parts in Page Layouts not showing for users

Custom Web Parts in Page Layouts not showing for users
I have created a master page in the root site collection for a subsite I am developing. I created content types and custom page layouts for the pages within the subsite.
I used the snippet tool in the design manager to create web parts and page field markup which I copied into the custom layout HTML pages in the root site collection. For instance I have an image viewer web part that I place there to serve as a section title.
The problem is that I can see all these customer layout page parts no problem but my users cannot. This leads me to believe its permissions, I am site owner of both the subsite and root site collection.
The users that cannot see the web parts are site members of the site and restricted read users on the root site collection (where the layouts are stored).
What gives I'm finding it hard to understand why a snipet generated web part wouldn't show in all pages created from that layout page.
Any help would be appreciated, Havent found anything on this issue online. weird.

It is a permission issue indeed. Fix is simple, make sure you check out the page layout page, then check it back in as published version.

We have a search center site with custom web parts and custom master pages. When the session is inactive for long time all the custom web parts in the page doesn't work, unless we close the browser and open it. Where as this is not the case with the
OOB web parts. We are not able to identify the root cause as it works with OOB web parts and not the custom web parts.We were able to find that by increasing the session timeout of the web application we can avoid this issue.We do not want to increase the
session timeout as the OOB web part works perfectly even when the user session is idle for long time.Is there any other alternative where we can acheive the same for custom web parts when the session is idle for long time?

Hi Saranya,
According to your descirption, my understanding is that when the session is long time idle ,then custom web part will not work.
I suggest you check if you have enable the session in the Page Level in the web.config. By default SharePoint disable the session state.
In the web.config, you will see <page enableSessionState> tag. You can modify like below and test if it works.
<pages enableSessionState=”true” ….. />

It could be an indication or a damaged or dying hard drive. I would recommend doing a disk diagnostic on the iPod's HD using the instructions given by turingtest2 in this older thread. He also covers what the resulting numbers indicate.

Web address with hyphen will not work in PDF

In ID, I create web links by selecting a url and then selecting New Hyperlink From URL. The new link is a Shared Destination by default with the web address as was selected. These links work fine when exported to PDF.
When I use the same process on a url with a hyphen (part of the address and not a line break), the resulting Shared link will not work when exported to PDF. The newly created link in this case always begins with file:///Users/.
What is it about the hypen that messes up the process? I work in a bilingual government so we have a lot of urls with hyphens in them. For example: www.cga-nb.org.

This is true. If you use Fiddler to watch the requests from the list view quick edit you can see CSOM calls. For example when changing a value in a cell, when you tab out you will see the SetFieldValue and Update method calls on the list item.
