Draw arc with three point( start, middle, end)

hi all,
i want to draw an arc with start point, middle point and end point, how can i do this?

Not clear what you want, but will try
How to calculate - the unit is the pixel it takes practice thats all & a bit of trial and error.
       | intB (pixels from the top)

If you only want an arc then you can paint over it again with eg
g.setColor(Color.white);
g.fillRect(0, 0, width, height);
g.setColor(Color.blue);
g.fillArc(intA, intB, intC, intD, intStartArc, intEndArc);
g.setColor(Color.white);
g.fillArc(intA, intB, intC-1, intD-1, intStartArc, intEndArc);
or something similar

    Hi all, i try to draw an arc A-B-C but i only has these three point, can anybody tell me how to do this and if these three point is almost colinear can i do this,
    thanks!

    I would think the Parabolic version would be able to
    make a Circular arc as well as a Parabolic one.By a parabolic arc in this case I meant the arc of a parabola whose axis is the line bisector of AC and that passes through the points A, B, and C. You will get infinitely many parabolic arcs by choosing the axis differently. Generally a circular arc and a parabolic arc through three points are different.
    But even though there are infinitely many arcs that pass through three points, it seems quite probable that the OP wants a circular one....

  • How, in Illustrator CS5, can I select all objects with three points (or nodes)?

    I am quite new to Illustrator, but it seems this should be simple.  (It is trivial in CorelDraw X4:  After selecting an object with three nodes, I go to Edit > Find and Replace > Find Objects > Find objects that match the currently selected object, and navigate through the remaining menus.)
    In Illustrator CS5, the options under Select > Same do not seem to include selecting all objects with the same number of nodes as the currently selected object.
    Double-clicking on the Magic Wand Tool also fails to provide such an option.
    Thank you for any help.
    P.S.  Also useful would be knowing how to add other criteria to this search, e.g. how to select all objects with three points *and* the current fill color.

    There is a script that can select "less than x points"

    I'm looking to find or make a custom control (or simple subVI) that will appear as a 100x100 unit grid and allow me to draw a line from one point to another on that grid. It will then output the (x,y) of the starting and end point of that line on the grid.  Any help or ideas?

    What you basically want is a loop with an event structure where you process Mouse Down, Move and Up events for your controls. There are any number of ways of implementing something like this, but this one will probably be the simplest:
    Use a multicolumn listbox or a table for your grid. Hide the scrollbars and headers.
    You can use the ActiveCell property with -2,-2 to select all cells. You can then use the cell size property to set the exact size of the cell.
    Next, you put a picture control on top of the table and color its background transparent so that the table shows through. You use property node to make sure the two are aligned to exactly the same spot and size.
    You use the mouse events on the picture control to detect the clicks and moves.
    You use the table's Point to Row Column method to translate the event's position data to a cell.
    You use the picture control VIs to draw the line on the picture based on that data.
    You can even color the selected cells in the table using the table properties.
    If you want to simplify things somewhat, you can also use the timeout event instead of the Mouse Move event to draw the line, but then you'll need to keep the timeout value in a shift register and reset it to -1 (no timeout) when the Mouse Up event happens.
    I would also suggest processing Mouse Enter and Leave events to change the cursor and cancel if the user leaves in the middle of dragging.

    Hi all,
    If you want to draw a arc in LabVIEW, You need star angle and angle, angle can - or +, that means your need know the direction,
    if CW angle is +;
    if CCW angle is -;
    We can use cross product to get Z to get direction:

  • Drawing small, short curves in Photoshop draws straight line between start and end points

    I recently installed Windows 8 Professional, Photoshop and the latest Wacom Bamboo tablet drivers and have been experiencing this issue. I've turned off windows flicks and ink. This only happens in Photoshop with the brush tool and I can't seem to find a setting that this corresponds to.
    Basically, when I draw small, short curves (particularly letters like 'c' and 'h'), when I lift up my pen, Photoshop automatically connects the end and start points together with a straight line ('c' almost becomes 'o' or 'a'). I'm not holding the shift or any modifier keys. I've tried googling this issue, but I have no idea how to phrase it properly to get any results.
    Here's an image of what I'm talking about (the top was drawn with the pencil tool, the bottom with the brush tool which demonstrates the issue. I've highlighted the start and end points with red dots):

  • Custom text component with different start and end points for each line

    I'm trying to create a custom component extending textArea in which each individual line in the textArea would have different start and end points.  For example, the start/end points for line 1 might be 20 pixels in the front and 35 pixels at the end but start/end points for line 2 might be 25 pixels in front and 20 pixels at the end, etc.  These boundary values would be passed in.  The width of the entire textArea component would be a fixed size.  The result would be something like this:
         Jack and Jill
              ran up the hill
      to fetch a pail of water
    depending on the boundary values of each individual line of course.  The custom component would take a string and render it in the text component with the appropriate individual line start and end points.  I'm trying to do this by adding the text component to the display with the passed in string and then adding in spaces in the beginning of each line and adding a "/n" at the end of the line wherever appropriate based on the start and end values for that line.
    Just wondering if I'm on the right track and if anyone has any advice on this.

    > Applying the marker places the same icon on all lines of the graph and I need a different one for each
    What do you have selected when you assign the marker? It
    shouldn't apply to all the markers on the whole graph unless you have all the existing markers selected when you apply the new one.
    Assigning marker designs is exactly analogous to assigning bar graph designs.
    If you have a single marker selected when you assign the new design, it will apply to only that graph data point.
    If you use the group select tool (or option-click with the direct select tool) to reclick on an already-selected marker until all the markers for the same line are selected, and then assign a design, the new design will apply only to the selected line. (You can extend the graph by adding more rows, and the new data points will inherit the marker for the line they are on.)
    The thread linked to below demonstrates in more detail how the marker designs are scaled:

  • How to draw an arc with width more than 1

    Hi!
    I got the following problem:
    I need to draw an arc under JDK1.1.
    It works fine, but I need to be able to adjust the
    thickness. I didn't find anything in the graphics-
    class.
    Who knows?
    Valentin

    I think you're just gunna have to draw multiple arcs with start/end points that are pixel increments away from each other. In Java2 you could use set the "stroke" with Java 2D, but that's not availale in 1.1.

  • Line Graph repeats the starting data point at the end also

    Hi,
    We have a Line Graph as below. This graph is used to show the Salary changes of a person, over time.
    But this graph shows an additional non existing data point. Basically it shows the starting data point once again at the end of the other data points.
    The model VO for this graph, does not contain this additional data point record. But the graph repeats the starting data point at the end also.
    In the screen-shot you can see that, the graph has three data points. But the table has only two. The first data point in the graph is repeated as the last data point.
    Is this a Bug..?
    Or an issue with the usage of the DVT tags?

    If I understand your question, this from the Pages online help may give the answer:
    To mark line, area, and scatter charts with data point symbols:
    Select the entire chart. You can also select the chart series (the line or area shape) that you want to mark with data point symbols.
    Click Inspector in the toolbar, and then click the Chart Inspector button.
    Click Series (except for scatter charts).
    Choose a symbol from the Data Point Symbol pop-up menu.
    Choose one of the following options from the Symbol Fill pop-up menu:
    To fill the symbol with the same color as its outline, choose Use Stroke Color.
    To fill the symbol with a solid color, choose Color Fill, click the Fill color well, and pick a color.
    To fill the symbol with a gradient, choose Gradient Fill and use the gradient controls to set the colors and change the angle of the gradient.
    To fill the symbol with an image, choose Image Fill and select the image you want. You can also resize the image by choosing an option from the pop-up menu above the Choose button.
    To fill the symbol with a tinted image, choose Tinted Image Fill and select the image you want. Click the color well to the right of the Choose button to change the tint color. You can also resize the image by choosing an option from the pop-up menu above the Choose button.

  • Can both Locator & spatial store three point curves or arcs?

    1) can both Oracle Locator and Oracle Spatial store three pint curves or arcs?
    2) Can both Oracle Locator and Oracle Spatial receive input of bearing / distance to creat a line segment?

    hmmm, i got this exact question in mail today. someone is double-dipping!
    Both Locator and Spatial allow storage of three point circular arcs. Circular arcs are only supported in non-geodetic coordinate systems.
    In Oracle 10g Release 2 both Locator and Spatial include a function called sdo_util.point_at_bearing. If you enter a point, a distance, and a bearing (in radians) we return the end point. With the end point and the original input point a line segment can be contructed very easily.

  • How to find a line/edge that starts at the same point as the end of another

    I have an edges table of Lat/Lon data and for a specific edge I want to find any other edges that have the same start point as the end point of the given edge.
    I tried the following query:
    select geo_street_id from geo_street s2
    where SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_START_PT(s2.geom) =
    (select SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_END_PT(s.geom) as geom from geo_street s
    where geo_street_id = 122978214)
    but it gets the following error:
    ORA-22901: cannot compare nested table or VARRAY or LOB attributes of an object type
    Any Ideas?

    1. to compare geometry to be equal you should use appropriate function (SDO_GEOM.RELATE http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B14255_01/sdo_objgeom.htm#sthref1561) or operators (sdo_relate http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B14255_01/sdo_operat.htm#i78531) with specific mask EQUAL.
    2. to filter down the resultset in first place you can use the operator SDO_RELATE with mask TOUCH as this will return already the set of lines sharing endpoints, but will also include lines touching eachother not at endpoints (endpoint intersecting the otherone's interior)
    something like
    select geo_street_id from geo_street s2, geo_street s
    where
    s.geo_street_id = 122978214
    AND
    sdo_relate(s2.geom, s.geom,'mask=touch') = 'TRUE'
    AND
    sdo_geom.relate(SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_START_PT(s2.geom),
    'EQUAL',
    SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_END_PT(s.geom),0.005)='EQUAL'
    3. if you would do this for the full table, an SDO_JOIN (http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B14255_01/sdo_operat.htm#BGEDJIBF) might be more appropriate.
    4. you might also consider 4 cases:
    start = start
    start = end
    end = start
    end = end
    5. alternative would be to take only the endpoints of your selected geometry and perform a touch with the edges. using the sdo_util.APPEND on the startpoint en endpoint of your geometry will return a multipoint. although there might some specific cases that this would not return respected result I think
    something like:
    select geo_street_id from geo_street s2, geo_street s
    where
    s.geo_street_id = 122978214
    AND
    sdo_relate(s2.geom,
    SDO_UTIL.APPEND(
    SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_START_PT(s.geom),
    SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_END_PT(s.geom)
    ,'mask=touch') = 'TRUE'
    Let us know how it works.

  • XML Parsing with Java - Only some attributes have start and end tags

    Hello,
    I am trying to interpret the XML response from a server after a HTTP request is sent to it. I have modified an example off Wikipedia below to give an example of what it looks like.
    Example XML:
    <Asset name="bread" prep_time="5 mins" cook_time="3 hours">
    <Attribute name="Ingredient: ">Flour</Attribute>
    <Attribute name="Ingredient: ">Water</Attribute>
    <Attribute name="Used in Recipes:" />
    </recipe>
    I have been trying to display the above XML in a format such as:
    name: bread prep_time: 5 mins cook_time: 3 hours
    Ingredient: Flour
    Ingredient: Water
    Used in Recipes:
    Right now I have been trying to do it manually using indexOf and substring of the XML text, but I would like to find a better way of doing this. I have found some examples online that show had to deal with cases such as
    <person>
    <first>Kiran</first>
    <last>Pai</last>
    <age>22</age>
    </person>
    but I do not know what to do when I encounter something like the last item, when there are no "Used in Recipe" items, and it ends with a />, instead of an ending tag </Attribute>.
    Are there any suggestions as to how to handle the example XML code that I have posted?
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was making some assumptions, since (as usual) we don't really know the requirements beyond a base technical one (ie "I have this, and I need it to look like this"). In general, though, if you have XML data and you need it formatted differently then I'd say your first port of call ought to be transformation.
    As for maintenance, I'd say it's easier to maintain a stylesheet than to modify Java, which is why I say it ought to be the start point.
    Of course, YMMV.
