Drawing editable charts

Hi,
I have been working on a project management tool and I need to draw some charts like gantt and pert. I want them to be editable like when the users drags a task it should extend its end date and etc. What's the best approach I can take? Do you know of some good libs that I can employ?
A second question is what new features would you want in a project management tool? Our design has both web and swing parts and we are planning to use RMI and struts.

nobody knows? :((

  • Edit Chart of Account

    Hi Experts,
I want to shift one GL account from assets to liabilities.
The account which I want to transfer is a control accunt & also used in GL account determination, during implementation this account was wrongly placed in liabilities however this has to be placed in asstes drawer.
when I try to relocate the account there is a message as follows
Cannot transfer reconc. account to another group  [Message 750-21]
So, need your help how to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Waqas

    Hai!
This is the solution proposed by SAP Support...
The issue is reproducible in a India demo DB for both versions 2005B PL45 and 2007B PL11.
Currently this is the current system behaviour for both versions as the account Goods Received not invoice clearing (GRNI) has been defined under GL Account determination-stock tab and also WH account ing tab .
Nevertheless after further investigation we managed to move the account to the expenditure drawer. Find below a workaround which allow the system move the account to the expediture drawer.
1.Remove the account 208040 from GL account determination - stock tab and also from any Warehouse definition
2.Go to Edit Chart of account and select Liabilities and Expenditure drawer.
3.Set the account 208040 as Level 2 and update
4.Move the account to expediture account
Please be aware that this change will have accounting consequences (e.g P&L report...) therefore makes sure customer accountant agree about this change. Please check the attach note 812315.

  • How to draw flow chart?

I know there are libraries out there for editing Word and Excell documents in java, but I'm not sure about Visio. Have you tried google?

  • Export SQL Server report chart to excel as editable chart

    Hi,
When I export the report in excel format the chart is displayed as picture. I want it to be displayed as editable chart.
Does Office Writer work in this situation and did anyone use Office Writer to accomplish same type of problem.
Is there any other method or product we can use instead of the office writer.
    Thanks.

    Hi Brad_user,
Just as you said, the chart displays as a static image after exporting to excel, and it cannot be edit. The feature that a chart can be editable after exporting to Excel is not supported in current release of Reporting Services. One workaround for you is
create a chart base on the same data in the excel level. Notice that there are many features supported on one side but not the other.
Alternatively, if you have any concern about this, please submit a feedback at

  • Edit Chart error in web application designer

    Hello,
Whenever I try to edit a chart in de WAD the edit popup window is empty (no edit fields). Does anyone know how to solve this error. BW is running on WAS 6.20 and I am running SAP GUI 6.40 patch 22.
    Kind regards,
    Raymond Does

    Problem solved!
My graphics adapter was set to 128% DPI. This caused 2 errors:
    1. The tabs below the template window where "overwritten" by the template window.
    2. The "edit chart" popup window remained blank.
After setting my graphics adaper to 96 dpi (default) everything worked fine.

  • I wanna draw line chart

hi, i wanna draw line chart for some analysis of an image.
how can i do that?? plz help me in that, code would be more
    better.thank u.

Yes, you can use the code for free and you can include it in your application for free. JFreeChart is and will always be free software.
What's not free is the JFreeChart Developer Guide (a 300 page Acrobat PDF document) and access to the JFreeChart Priority Support Forum. You have to pay for these, if you want them, the idea being that a well-funded project will progress faster than one that relies solely on volunteers.
I get some criticism for taking this "commercial" approach, but I am 100% certain that it has made JFreeChart a better product, so I don't care...

  • Openoffice spreadsheet draw combination charts  programatically

    hi all,
we need to develop a project that is an extension in OO so that it could display a mutitype chart we have drawn in Excel.
Essentially, we have a combination chart consists of a candle stick chart and a line chart appearing together. OO could not display it!
    (see http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=27363).
We have research the problem for a while and figure that the easiest way is to develop an extension in Java using the Netbean Integration tool. Probably, adding a new chart type so that it is matched to the excel version. In chart2, it appears that they have changed the structure to a MVC model and under the diagram service, a coordinate system could have a list of charttype. So it appears that it is possible to draw a chart with different charttype on it even without the extension. However, we have not tried the chart2 API as we can't find a working example and SUN is not very helpful either and they discourage us to use chart2.
    (see http://graphics.openoffice.org/chart/chart2codestructure.html)
can you give us advise how to approach this problem ?
documentation resources , code snippets to call chart2 api from java code and any other helpful suggestion will be very welcomed.
    thanks.

ok let me put it simply :
com:sun:star:chart2 is not written in java, it is all written in C++ with those horrible IDL files which I dont want to know about.
However, i do think UNO make it possible to be used in a java environment.
i searched the OOo website and also the web for an example snippet of a java program that calls com:sun:star:chart2 ; but i didn't found anything.
it would be great if SUN engineers in this forum show me an example of how to use the OOo chart2 API in a java program.
    thanks.

  • Adding editable charts in adobe 9 pro

How do you insert an editable chart in Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional? I create bank forms and we are still behind the times. . .Just wondering if anybody has solutions out there. I'm going to attempt to insert an editable chart that has to do with Credit Scores

There isn't anything like a built-in charting component that's available. There are tricks you can do with JavaScript, but there aren't a lot of resources available that can help you learn about this specifically.

  • Editing Chart from Libary

    Dear Guru's,
I am using a Chart from my Library in around 50 Template'S.
Now i want to change the Text which displays From this Chart. But When i try to Edit it, i get Following Message.
IF You want to change the Chart Setting, Not just for this Template but for all those who use the library item, edit the associated library item.
So then i went into Libary and Found my Chart, But when i say edit Chart. I don't see the text which display when Template Executes.
    Kindly suggest some solution...
    Thanks in Advance, Dev

    Hello
As far as I know, you must do the task with the chart sitting in the same sheet than the tables.
When done, you may move it to an other sheet but, to be honest, I don't understand the interest of such a move.
An alternate workaround would be to insert an auxiliary table in the sheet where you put the chart.
This table will peek the values in the main sheet.

  • BI Publisher Template Builder - Can't add/edit chart

    Hi all,
I am trying to edit a BIP template using the template builder.
I can log on successfully using the Oracle BI Publisher / Log In option in the menu bar and I am able to choose the template I want to edit.
Once I open the template, I try to edit one existent chart (right click on the chart / BI Publisher chart) and a chart window appears.
The problem that I am facing is that I can't apply the new layout properties to the chart cause both the OK and PREVIEW buttons are disabled.
I know I am probably missing some step but I don't really know which cause I am enew with BIP.
The strange thing is that I can modify successfully the existent tables or even create new ones, but I can't add/edit new charts.
I am using MS Word 2007 (I have tried with 2000 also in another laptop) with the template builder 10.1.3.4.1 version.
    Thanks in advance for help.
    Giovanni

    Hi Giovanni,
I had the same issue and struggled with it a few hours, but the solution is very simple. Here are some directions for fixing this issue.
    1. In the Layout section there are three options to configure: Values, Aggregation and Labels.
    2. Make sure you add the fields to the Values option, select aggregation if it applies for your chart.
    3. Add the field to the Labels section, then you will enable the preview and OK buttons.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't seem to draw a chart (line chart) using dates rather than numbers

I'm trying to draw a Line Chart but rather using numbers i want to use dates for example: Switzerland 23/06/2008 - 23/08/2008. Can't seem to get it to work? it seems to all go wrong when I change the cell format to 'date'
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
PS. I can do it easily in Excel

    Hello
From my point of view, it's not surprising.
In XL, a date is a number to which a date format is applied. So, it may be charted.
Same thing with the good old AppleWorks.
With Numbers, a date is NOT a number, it IS a specific class of data.
The consequence is that it can't be charted directly.
Happily, we may easily convert a date into a number.
In column B the formula is
    =A-$A$1
which calculates the numeric difference between stored dates and the date stored in A1.
So, we may chart the results.
I know that it's far from perfect but we have to live with the choices made by Numbers's designers.

  • Editing chart Axis label

Hi. I have a report where one chart repeats one time, and in Preview, I am able to click on the Axis label and find an option to Edit the label, where I define 1 - 12 as Jan - Dec. However, another chart repeats for 80 or so pages, thus I can't use Preview to edit the label as it effects one chart at a time. Is there a place to edit axis labels in Design?
    Thanks!
    Robin

Thanks so much for following up on this. To clarify, converting month numbers to names is nice, and I did that using the specified order suggestion, but it doesn't effect the order of say, May, when Jan thru Apr are missing, and in fact created other issues of data misintrepatation I didn't bother resolving at the time.
I suppose the best solution would be something that supplies a placeholder for blank months, so that the Jan-Dec order remains constast and the data graph bars appear in appropriate months, Jan-Apr no bars, May-Dec with data generated bars.
    Does this help?
