Dreamweaver 8 bug - strobing/blinking when rollover tables

Does anyone else have this issue with Dreamweaver 8 in table
view - when you rollover any graphic or table border the whole
screen strobes and blinks enough to give you a seizure?
I have mx and 8 installed on my computer, but I dont want to
give up mx until I can be sure 8 will stop giving me eyecrossing
headaches with all of its blinking.
I cant find any documentation on this issue, but maybe
because there is a more technical term to describe "blinky" and
"strobey" that I cant think of while searching. Anyone have any
suggestions? I'm about to dive into my first Ektron project and
must use version 8.
thanks

Following the avalanche of hints and tips I am pleased to
report that there is a problem with Dreamweaver MX and MX2004 when
connecting to Access databases running on Windows Server 2003 SP1.
Whilst it is covered in the knowledge base I note that others in
the forum are having similar difficulties with Sequel connections
and unable to retrieve failures.
There is a "fix" - SP2DBFix1.0.2.mxp - for my problem and I
cannot be alone in experiencing this.
And just in case anyone from Adobe is reading this, you
should have written to all your registered and paid up members
informing us of this problem when WS2003 SP1 was released!

  • Dreamweaver CS6 crashes when editing tables

When I'm editing a table in the design view of Dreamweaver CS6, it stops responding and crashes. I have tried restarting my computer, restarting Dreamweaver (obviously) and repeating the same process, but it crashes in the exact same place. CS5.5 never did anything like this, in fact I have only ever experienced one crash and that was with InDesign CS5 a long time ago. It can't be my computer, it's well above required spec for CS6. What do you reckon is causing this? -_-
I will carry on editing bits of the table in the code view for now, but it's just that annoying feeling about compensating for something new that doesn't work properly. Any tips would be appreciated.

I've been working with data tables in CS6 recently, and have not encountered any problems, so this is not a known bug.
Often when things go wrong with Dreamweaver, it can be related to a corrupt cache file. Try the instructions for deleting a corrupt cache.
If that doesn't help, file a bug report through the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. Try to describe the situation in detail, giving steps to reproduce the problem.

  • Bug when viewing tables?

There seems to be a bug when viewing tables with identical names in different schemas in SQL Developer. When I view table information in one schema and then go to a table with identical name in another schema the view isn't updated, it still shows the information for the table from the first schema. I have to select another table in the second schema before I select the table I want to look at to get the information correct.
I have the same problem with views, so this is probably the case for all kinds of objects.
    Regards,
    Sveinung

I have found that the problem is even more specific. It occurs only when I view schemas in different databases.
I am not sure that I understand what you mean about abstracted script. I have tried to create a simple test case with two scripts, one for each database, that creates a table, inserts some data and creates a view on the table.
I have not found a way to upload files, so I have pasted the contents into this thread along with a description of the steps in the GUI. I have run the scripts on Oracle 10g (10.2.0.3.0) databases.
    -- SCRIPT 1
    CREATE TABLE test_table
    col_1 NUMBER,
    col_2 VARCHAR2(6)
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (1, 'ROW 1')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (2, 'ROW 2')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (3, 'ROW 3')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (4, 'ROW 4')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (5, 'ROW 5')
    COMMIT
CREATE VIEW test_view AS SELECT * FROM test_table
    -- END SCRIPT 1
Run script 1 in some schema in a database.
    -- SCRIPT 2
    CREATE TABLE test_table
    col_1 NUMBER,
    col_2 VARCHAR2(6),
    col_3 VARCHAR2(12)
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (1, 'ROW 1', 'COL 3 ROW 1')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (2, 'ROW 2', 'COL 3 ROW 2')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (3, 'ROW 3', 'COL 3 ROW 3')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (4, 'ROW 4', 'COL 3 ROW 4')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (5, 'ROW 5', 'COL 3 ROW 5')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (6, 'ROW 6', 'COL 3 ROW 6')
    INSERT INTO test_table VALUES (7, 'ROW 7', 'COL 3 ROW 7')
    COMMIT
CREATE VIEW test_view AS SELECT * FROM test_table
    -- END SCRIPT 2
Run script 2 in some schema in another database.
Connect to the two databases in SQL Developer.
Select the table in the first database, then select Data.
Then select the table in the other database. In my system the data are not refreshed. This is also the case when I look at the views.
Hope this description is good enough.

I wrote this long time ago, have a read and see whether it can be soloved
If a sad iPod icon or an exclamation point and folder icon appears on your iPod’s screen, or with sounds of clicking or HD whirring, it is usually the sign of a hard drive problem and you have the power to do something about it now. Your silver bullet of resolving your iPod issue – is to restore your iPod to factory settings.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
If you're having trouble, try these steps at different levels one at a time until the issue is resolved. These steps will often whip your iPod back into shape.
Make sure you do all the following “TRYs”
    A. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
    B. Try another FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
    C. Try another FireWire or USB port on your computer .
    D. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
    E. Try to download and install the latest version of iPod software and iTunes
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
For old and other versions of iPod updater for window you can get here
    http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=7369
    F. Try these five steps (known as the five Rs) and it would conquer most iPod issues.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
    G. Try to put the iPod into Disk Mode if it fails to appear on the desktop
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
If none of these steps address the issue, you may need to go to Intermediate level listed below in logical order. Check from the top of the lists to see if that is what keeping iPod from appearing on your computer in order for doing the Restore.
    Intermediate Level
    A. Try to connect your iPod with another computer with the iPod updater pre-installed.
    B. Still can’t see your iPod, put it in Disk Mode and connect with a computer, instead of doing a Restore on iPod Updater. Go and format the iPod instead.
    For Mac computer
    1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
    2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
    3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
    4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
    5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
    For Window computer
    Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
    Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool”.

    C. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    Tips
    a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
    b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
    c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

    Advance Level
    A. Diagnostic mode solution
If you have tried trouble shooting your iPod to no avail after all the steps above, chances are your iPod has a hardware problem. The iPod's built-in Diagnostic Mode is a quick and easy way to determine if you have a "bad" iPod.
You need to restart your iPod before putting it into Diagnostic Mode. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. Toggle it on and off to be safe.
Press and hold the following combination of buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.
    iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select"
The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Press and hold the following sequence of buttons:
iPod 1G to 3G: "REW", "FFW" and "Select"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Back" and "Select"
You will hear an audible chirp sound (3G models and higher) and the Apple logo should appear backwards. You are now in Diagnostic Mode. Navigate the list of tests using "REW" and "FFW". The scroll wheel will not function while in diagnostic mode. For further details on Diagnostic mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/
Try to do the 5in1, HDD R/W and HDD scan tests. Some successful cases have been reported after the running the few tests under the Diagnostic mode. In case it does not work in your case, and the scan tests reports show some errors then it proves your iPod has a hardware problem and it needs a repairing service.
    B. Format your iPod with a start disk
I have not tried this solution myself, I heard that there were few successful cases that the users managed to get their iPod (you must put your iPod in disk mode before connecting with a computer) mounted by the computer, which was booted by a system startup disk. For Mac, you can use the Disk Utility (on the Tiger OS system disk), for PC user, you can use the window OS system disk. Try to find a way to reformat your iPod, again it does not matter which format (FAT32, NTFS or HFS+) you choose, the key is to erase the corrupted system files on the iPod. Then eject your iPod and do a Reset to switch out from Disk Mode. Reboot your computer at the normal way, connect your iPod back with it, open the iPod updater, and hopefully your iPod will appear there for the Restore.
If none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired.
Consider setting up a mail-in repair for your iPod http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
Or visit your local Apple Retail Store http://www.apple.com/retail/
In case your iPod is no longer covered by the warranty and you want to find a second repairing company, you can try iPodResQ or ifixit at your own risk
    http://www.ipodresq.com/index.php
    http://www.ifixit.com/
Just in case that you are at the following situation
    Your iPod warranty is expired
You don’t want to pay any service charges
You are prepared to buy a new one
You can’t accept the re-sell value of your broken iPod
Rather than leave your iPod as paper-weight or throw it away.
You can try the following, but again, only do it as your last resort and at your own risk.
Warning !!!! – It may or may not manage to solve your problem, and with a risk that you may further damage your iPod, which end up as an expensive paper weight or you need to pay more higher repairing cost. Therefore, please re-consider again whether you want to try the next level
    Last Resort Level
    1. . Disconnecting the Hard Drive and battery inside the iPod – Warning !! Your iPod warranty will be waived once you open the iPod.
In Hong Kong there are some electronic shops offering an iPod service for Sad iPod, the first thing they do is to open up the iPod’s case and disconnecting the battery and the Hard Drive from the main board of the iPod. Wait for 5-10 minutes and reconnecting them back. The reason behind which I can think of is to do a fully reset of a processor of the iPod. In case you want do it itself and you believe that you are good on fixing the electronics devices and have experience to deal with small bits of electronic parts, then you can read the following of how to open the iPod case for battery and HDD replacement (with Quicktimes)

2.Press the reset button on the Hard Drive inside the iPod – Suggestion from Kill8joy
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2438774#2438774
Have I tried these myself? No, I am afraid to do it myself as I am squeamish about tinkering inside electronic devices, I have few experiences that either I broke the parts (which are normally tiny or fragile) or failed to put the parts back to the main case. Therefore, I agree with suggestion to have it fixed by a Pro.

I am not suggesting that you should follow as well, but just read them as your reference. You are the person to make the call.
Finally, I read a fair comments from dwb, regarding of slapping the back of the iPod multiple times
Quote “This has been discussed numerous times as a 'fix'. It does work, at least for a while. In fact I remember using the same basic trick to revive Seagate and Quantam drives back in the mid to late 1980's. Why these tiny hard drives go bad I don't know - could be the actuator gets stuck in place or misaligned. Could be the platter gets stuck or the motor gets stuck. 'Stiction' was a problem for drives back in the 80's. Unfortunately the fix can cause damage to the platter so we temporarily fix one problem by creating another. But I know of two instances where a little slap onto the table revived the iPods and they are still worked a year or more later.”UnQuote

  • 2.1 EA1: Deadlock when closing table

    Hi,
I just closed a table's tab, and got a "Connecting to..." dialog which just kept on moving without apparent reason (there was still another open table on it's left side). When I tried to cancel it, the UI became unresponsive, so I asked for a dump:

  • Page blinks when uploaded........?

Hi, i have only started learning anything about webdesign
    (dreamweaver)
for three months now. Now i have come across a problem with
my site and i hav no clue.
One of the pages 'blinks' when uploaded>>
    http://www.stuntworldactioncamp.com/groupevents.html
Also at first the search-engines found it easily and the page
    came up like
6 x on the first Google page, but now nothing
    anymore......what happend??
Could someone have a look at it pls?
    Karin

    Blinks?
The page is built with antique methods not well suited to
    today's search
    engine requirements. For example -
<!-- META Tags Created With: STW META Tag Builder
    http://www.scrubtheweb.com/abs/
    -->
It's not likely that this will add any SEO value to your
    page, since meta
keywords are ignored by the major search engines. Further,
    there is no
semantic markup on your page (<h#> tags, particularly)
    to give extra
significance to paragraph content. Finally, the titles of the
    individual
pages are not built with search engine keywords or phrases in
    mind. Perhaps
a read of these will help -

  • How to add the rows formatted as table headings, Tables headings are repeated when a table spans more than one page.

    Hi all,
i am facing problem while generating Test Result word document after successful execution of TestStand.
    The Problem is :
i want to add rows Formatted as table headings, table headings are repeated when a table spans more than one page(marked as Red).
    Example:
    Page  No. 1
    |     Test case Number  |  Test Step number      |
    |      100                         |            100                   |
    Page  No. 2
    |     Test case Number  |  Test Step number      |
    |      200                         |            300                   |
Test Result word document should generate with Table headings(marked as Red) in every pages of the document, but i am not getting as per above example.
    Please through light on this.
    Regards,
    Susa.

    Hi Santiago,
Thank you very much for your valuable reply.
i want to generate MS-word report for TestStand after successful testing using MS-word2000.
Test report contains Actual values, Expected values and Pass/Fail status.
In my program i have customized all  fields i can able to generate test report which contains Verification engineer name , test mode, test date, start time, end time Actual values, Expected values and Pass/Fail status.etc....
To put all values of test case number, Test step number, Actual values, Expected values and Pass/Fail status in to table for each time, i will
insert a row into table every time values arrives, once the table exceedes its page size it moves to the next page, next page should start with table row header  but it start with  values of above said parameters.
so i'm not able to repeat table row header for each page.
Please find the attached file for your reference.
Attched file expected.doc  :   This file contains what i wanted to generate MS-word report. Here table row header "Test Case Number and Test Step Number " is repeated in second page.
Attached file Actual output from source code.doc   :  This report generated from the source code. Here table row header "Test Case Number and Test Step Number" is not repeated in second page.
Do you know any property to set "repeat as header row at the top of each page" using MS-word ActiveX in CVI/Labwindows.
i think this information is sufficient for you,
Still if you need some information please ask me.
    Thanks
    Susa.

  • BUG: Playback Fails When Loading A Random Video - Firmware 1.2

I've been looking all over on where to post a bug, and for a fix for this bug I found. Not many seem to be having this problem (I assume not many are trying to randomly play a video from a video playlist)
BUG: Playback Fails When Loading A Random Video
    iPod FIRMWARE: 1.2
PROBLEM (1): When pressing "Play" on a video playlist or on 'Music Videos' while the iPod is set to Random->Song, the iPod displays a white playback screen, displays song 0 of 0, empty duration bar and a duration time of 0:00/-0:00.
PROBLEM (2): After successful playing a seleted video within a video playlist or music video list, the iPod attempts to play a randomly choosen video (HDD clicks abnormally) but times-out and returns the user to the Playlist selection screen.
iPod MODEL: 60GB Video - Black [Bought in NOV 05]
If anyone knows how to report a bug, or anyone else having this problem (Try it on you iPod, post your results!) let me know!

I've been looking all over on where to post a bug...If anyone knows how to report a bug let me know!
If you want to post a bug report for Apple to see, then this wouldn't be the place to post it (Apple employees rarely look on these forums; all other regular posters on here are just users that like to help others).
To tell Apple about this, select "Bug Report" under "Feedback Type" on their Feedback form for iPods here -> iPod Feedback
    I hope this helps you,

If all user-installed apps are not launching, it could be an Apple ID authorization issue. Download and install a free app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information.

    Revision: 949

    Log Message:
Bug: BLZ-96 - When sending a HttpService request from ActionScript with multiple headers with the same name, it causes a ClassCastException in the server
QA: Yes - try again with legacy-collection true and false.
    Doc: No
    Checkintests: Pass
Details: Another try in fixing this bug. When legacy-collection is false, Actionscript Array on the client becomes Java Array on the server and my fix yesterday assumed this case. However, when legacy-collection is true, Actionscript Array becomes Java ArrayList on the server. So added code to handle this case.

    blazeds/branches/3.0.x/modules/proxy/src/java/flex/messaging/services/http/proxy/RequestF ilter.java

    Hi all!
Just to post the solution to this if anyone ever runs accross this thread...
For some reason i had it bad the first time, don't have time right now to see why but here is what worked for me:
    HashMap primaryFile = new HashMap();
    primaryFile.put("fileContent", bFile);
    primaryFile.put("fileName", uploadedFile.getFilename());
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("primaryFile", primaryFile);
    HashMap customDocMetadata = new HashMap();
    HashMap [] properties = new HashMap[1];
    HashMap customMetadataPropertyRoom = new HashMap();
    customMetadataPropertyRoom.put("name", "xRoom");
    customMetadataPropertyRoom.put("value", "SOME ROOM");
    properties[0] = customMetadataPropertyRoom;
    customDocMetadata.put("property", properties);
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("CustomDocMetaData", customDocMetadata);
Basically an unbounded wsdl type is an array of objects (HashMaps), makes sense, i thought i had it like this before, must have messed up somewhere...
    Good luck all!

Hello toekneesee, try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
[[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
[[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.
