Dreamweaver cs3 doesn't support php5 ?

I open a new file with PHP selected. Check in the code, there
was no php tag already.
And When I code php, there is nothing call autocomplete. i
had to type every sing word.
So dreamweaver nuts with php or what ?

That's because PHP is normally used embedded in HTML.
Dreamweaver
doesn't know where you want your PHP tags. However, the
Insert bar will
insert them for you.

Press Ctrl+Space in a PHP code block to get code hints for
more than
2,000 PHP functions.

Dreamweaver supports a lot of PHP. It also has a basic suite
of server
behaviors that automate such things as user authentication,
insert,
update, delete, and select records.

  • Premiere CS3 doesn't support Camcorder capturing and MPEG-2 on purpose? [very frustrated. Please Hel

My boss gave me a Tape camcorder to extract the videos and post them on Youtube. I've tried Video Edit Magic 4.4, Premiere CS3, and Pinnacle Studio to capture the video, Premiere CS3 is the only software that does not recognize the camcorder. So I'm forced to use Pinnacle Studio Quick Start (The software that came w/ the Camcorder) to exact the video and made them into MPEG-2. Once the MPEG-2 is on my PC, I tried to open it with Premiere CS3 for editing. Once again, Premiere doesn't support the .mpg exported by Pinnacle. I've been tinkering with this for 10 hours, but still not luck . Someone please help me!
PS. I wanted Pinnacle to Export AVI instead of MPEG-2, but the software is so crappy that the exported files would always be distorted.

    Alexander,
You basically have two options: edit in Pinnacle, or Export from Pinnacle as DV-AVI (remember, your material has already been heavily compressed to MPG-2), and edit in CS3, to Export to whatever you wish to upload to YouTube. Most people seem to use FLV, but they'll have to give you the exact specs., that they use.
That is the way it is, with cameras, that create MPG files. Maybe subtly hint that the boss needs a miniDV tape camera, as the files from his/her camera are really meant to be viewed, not edited.

  • Crash! Dreamweaver CS3 doesn't love me anymore.

    Here's how it first happened.
    1. Using the file menu I copied and renamed an HTML file.
    2. Dreamweaver asked if I wanted to check the links. Knowing
that this was a new file I said no.
    3. I then double clicked on the file to open the HTML file.
Dreamweaver completely disappeared from my screen. I tried to
open Dreamweaver again. It started to load, I could tell from the
dialog box that it was trying to build the site cache and look at
the links. Then it just crashed again. At this point I was unable
to do anything, Dreamweaver would try to load that site profile and
    just crash.
I've seen this before on older version of Dreamweaver (e.g.
MX 2004). So I went into the application data for my Windows
profile and deleted the Dreamweaver 9 folder (I had show hidden
files turned on). I then tried to start up Dreamweaver again. No
good. It tried to load the site cache and then crashed.
So I went to the forums and found an explanation of how to
remove the reference from Windows registry. I went under RUN typed
"regedit" went under the tree for the current user, backed up the
tree for Dreamweaver 9 and then deleted that tree. With the
application data also removed I tried to load Dreamweaver again.
This time Dreamweaver asked me to specify my preferences for file
types etc. It then tried to load the site that I was working on
choked on the freaking cache and died.
I spent the next hour trying various combinations restarting
my machine. At one point I moved the local location of the Web site
that I was working on. This gave me an opportunity to work on other
sites, as Dreamweaver was no longer choking on the site cache
(because it was unable to find the site). But the moment that I go
back to the other site and try to open up an HTML file it
    Dreamweaver dies.
So I decided to reinstall CS3. It took a while but I finally
got it removed and reinstalled. No change.
So this is what I've tried thus far:
    - Removed application data
    - Removed registry data
    - Removed "_notes" folder from the Web project
    - Reinstalled Dreamweaver and CS3
Since I'm able to work on other Web sites I have to think
that maybe the problem is in my code. I think there's something in
either my HTML, CSS or includes that's killing Dreamweaver. But
I've used the same techniques for many other Web sites with no
problem. I am using some CSS hacks, Jquery, and I'm also using
virtual includes for HTML. But I can't see why this would crash
Dreamweaver. Here's a URL with an example of the page that I was
    working on:
    Example
    1,
    Example
    2
I'm at the point where I'm ready to go back to Dreamweaver MX
2004, which really rubs me wrong because it's not like CS3 is
cheap. Anyone have some thoughts on what I could be doing
    differently?

I recommend you contact Adobe directly and use one of your
    one-on-one
    support incidents.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Backwards Compatability will CS5?

If I export my site onto a memory stick on CS5.5 will I be able to import it and use it on my laptop which only has CS3 installed?
I did a bit of searching but couldn't find what I was looking for,
    Many Thank,
    Alfie

Ideally when you work in the Dreamweaver and craete the website then you save the website in a generic web format like HTML or etc which can be opened by and web design tool and any veriosn of the Dreamweaver.
It is similar to JPEG from photoshop , it is a generic format hence I can open the same jpeg file in Photoshop's older veriosn, Illustrator all verion and any other tool that support jpeg file format.
Same goes with the HTML you can open the website created through Wordpress in dreamweaver because HTML is a generic format.
However you may have issue with teh objects on which the new feature of cs5.5 would have been used as cs3 doesn't support , similar wordpress file may not open exazctly the same as I have drafted it

  • CF8 + Dreamweaver CS3 - Unable to access Coldfusion Enhancements

So here's the deal. I recently upgraded to both CF8 and
Creative Suite CS3 (woo!) and wanted to use the CF Login Wizard
included as part of the Coldfusion enhancements. Despite having set
up my sites using CF as the testing server, the enhancements
    weren't unlocked.
I checked the Dreamweaver / livedocs help for more on the
    subject and
    found
this article saying that the enhancements can only be unlocked if
you have CF set as your testing server.. Ok . . . and what if
you did that (and have always done that) and it still doesn't work?
All of my software is fully patched, too.
Is the problem that Dreamweaver CS3 doesn't recognize CF8 and
is therefore not unlocking the enhancements? Are there any
work-arounds? I've spent over an hour checking forums and different
websites without any success. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    in advance.

Your question is a little vague. In order to assist you, one
must know what environment you are in. Assuming that you are using
a local computer, using windows (non NT), and setting up cf8
developer edition in order to have a coldfusion virtual server to
    test webs on:
You must make sure IIS is turned OFF. Clear the internet
information services box from the windows add/remove programs >
    add/remove windows components screen.
When you install Coldfusion, make sure you use the default
settings when clicking through the setup and remember your
coldfusion password. The default setting for localhost port is 8500
Add coldfusion options to dreamweaver using adobe exchange.
Most important parts: Move any website you are trying to
    access into the c:\coldfusion8\wwwroot\ folder.
Edit your site in dreamweaver throught the site > manage
sites > edit > advanced tab
on the Local Info Tab type in:
    Local Root Folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname
    Image Folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\images
    http://localhost:8500/yoursitesname/
    on the Remote Host tab:
    check the tab Local/Network
    type C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\
    on the Testing Site tab:
    choose Coldfusion > Local/Network
    Testing Server folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\
    URL Prefix =
    http://localhost:8500/yoursitesname/
You can't just point to http://localhost/ as you would using,
    say, wamp5.
Once I did this I was able to use everything fine.

  • Does Dreamweaver CS3 generate RSS feed?

Does Dreamweaver CS3, which I just got, generate RSS feed?
Right now I'm using FeedForAll, but I'd prefer to generate my
site's feed through Dreamweaver. (My site is SlowReads.com.) I've
just switched to a Mac and don't want to pay for a new FeedForAll
    license.
If Dreamweaver CS3 doesn't generate RSS feed, does anyone
know if DreamFeeder, an extension available through Adobe's web
site, is okay for Dreamweaver CS3? It says that it's made for MX
    & MX 2004.

    Burt,
You certainly can do this with Dreamweaver CS3 to create RSS
feed. You can take a look at Adobe Labs technologies for further
    details.
    Adobe Labs | Spry
framework for Ajax technologies Also, you can learn more about
Spry technologies within Dreamweaver Help using function key: "F1".
Please refer to Spry link. There are pretty good information on how
to work with Spry framework through links provided by Dreamweaver
Help itself. Be sure to keep your computer stay connected to the
Internet in order to make it work to connect to whatever web link
    source.
[On edit...] Futhermore, there is a link to Spry in
Dreamweaver Developer Center as well, just so you know.
    Adobe | Spry freamework
    for Ajax Developer Center
    [Other editing...]
    Adobe
LiveDoc Help | Spry 1.4 Developer Guide
    Hope that helps.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 with existing Server Behaviours

    Hi All,
Obviously i'm aware of the upcoming launch of Dreamweaver
CS3, which looks good, I'm currently using MX 2004 and considering
upgrading, however before i do so i have some queries.
We specialise in building ASP applications, which is why we
bought MX 2004 in the first place, as it included a number of
Server Behaviuors like login, go to detail page, recordset builders
etc, however as we found up, some of the key Server Behaviours,
like file upload and smartmail were not included.
Since then we've spent a lot of money buying extensions such
as WebAssist's SuperSuite and DMXZone's SmartMailor and
PureASPUpload to mention but a few.
Obviously keen to ensure before we purchase Dreamweaver CS3
that it is still aimed at developers and ccomes with Server
Behaviours but also that it still supports all of these extensions
and that we wouldn't therefore be losing the use of these very
    usefull tools.
    Thanks in advance

Dreamweaver CS3 most definitely supports server behaviors:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/features/allfeatures/
    "Open server and technology support
    "Support for leading technologies
"Take advantage of support for leading web development
    technologies,
including HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Ajax, PHP,
    Adobe®
    ColdFusion®, ASP, ASP.NET, and JSP."
AFAIK, all leading extension developers have been given the
    opportunity
to test their extensions with the new version. To find out
    whether the
particular commercial extensions you use are compatible with
    CS3,
    contact the developer directly.

  • Kolletion supported in Dreamweaver CS3?

Hello, is the latest version of Kolletion supported in
    Dreamweaver® CS3?
If not, will it soon or will it be called something else?
What’s up with updates, or new versions?
    Thanks

I just got this from the Kollection fourm:
    04-03-2007 16:23:18 GMT +2 Cristinel ANASTASOAIE [InterAKT
    Online]
    Hello Mark,
I just spoke to a guy called Martijn Koopmans at Adobe
Technical support (UK number) and he spoke to their Dreamweaver
"Expert" who confirmed that there WILL be a new version of
(Interakt) Kollection released for Dreamweaver CS.
We can confirm that there is a new version of Kollection
planned around the CS3 release. This version will address the
compatibility problems we have with Dreamweaver CS3 as well as
    browser and OS compatibility issues.
It will not be available at the launch of DW CS.
The new version will be available around the Dreamweaver CS3
    release.
So, got that - Martijn Koopmans, an employee of Adobe, has
catagorically stated that there will be a new version of the
Kollection extensions for Dreamweaver CS. So it must be true eh?
Yes. It is true. A new product version will be released under
a new name. It will be available on the online Adobe Store.
He also said that no features of Kollection have been built
    into Dreamweaver CS.
This is also true. No features have been built into
Dreamweaver CS3 because the InterAKT acquisition came in the middle
of Dreamweaver development cycle. Moreover, even if some features
will be included in future versions, it is highly unlikely that
they will be included as is.
    Sincerely,
    Cristinel

Changed battery in laptop and now when trying to open dreamweaver cs3, I get "licensing for this product has stopped working"... contact customer support (thats a laugh).  So what now?
it says:  You cannot use this product at this time.  You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT admin or Adobe customer support for help.
Well it seems I am only able to install this on a maximum of 3 computers so if I uninstall and reinstall I may have used up all three.  What caused this in the first place?

And most licenses extend to 2 machines; not 3.  Your computer's clock probably reset when you changed batteries. Is your computer's clock set to the correct date and time now?

  • Outraged that  KHTML is not supported in Dreamweaver cs3

I am outraged that KHTML is not supported in Dreamweaver CS3. If I had know this, I would not have purchased this software. In fact, I recommend that anyone using KHTML in earlier versions of Dreamweaver defintely not upgrade to CS3 until Adobe supports KHTML. To make matters worse, I have still not heard the reason that Adobe has decided to not support KHTML.
It is obvious that Adobe does not have the interest of their customers in mind.

    Hi David,
I absolutely disagree with you Gunther about KTML being "crap", and you are wrong about it being sold separately - it came integrated into MX Kollection.
As far I can recall, there were several options which changed in the course of time -- you could purchase a bundle, or you could purchase MX Kollection without any other secondary extension. As I said : "as far I recall"...
The primary advantage of KTML (other than its great wysiwyg capability and the convenience of it being a DW extension) is that it has a built-in file manager and image manager..
yes, that´s what I meant to indicate with my "2 well done features" summary
With a click of a button, you get wysiwyg editor, file manger, and image manager. And all of these work perfectly btw, and the image manager and file manager is better than Tiny's costly managers. For example with KTML the image resizer works better, you can change brightness and contrast and what's even better is that these functions can be done directly from the file manager w/out having to first open the image in the editor.
wanna know why exactly I decided to abandon KTML in favor of e.g. TinyMCE despite of the truly magnificent image and file management ? It´s because KTML simply didn´t provide any internal "hooks" to let me, say, allow user_id 1 to access all image editing functions, but user_id 2 just a subset or just the upload capability, but: No !
KTML´s "management" features would have been really great and really usable in a multi-user environamnt, if it would have provided this very feature -- but this would have meant to completely tie KTML to the rest of MX Kollection´s set of features
(ie handling external session variables, relate to permissions set in the login table), and that´s something what regretfully never happened, because the active development was
(as all you guys know) sort of stopped right at a point where it *could* have become really useful.
Another reason for me to not use the brilliant image management features :: does anyone recall KTML´s earlier versions which generated the image thumbnails "on the fly" ? If yes, you know what I´m talking about :: the latest KTML version *forced* me to accept having it create real thumbnail files in whatever obscure subdirectory, though I would never be really using them, and though KTML could certainly have done without them for generating an image preview
And the final problem with TinyMCE is the price: over $350 for the file manager (server license) and around $250 for image manager (server license). $600 to have it licensed on one server - They don't publish the price for unlimited license (probably very expensive). So just those two features costs almost twice as much as MX Kollection did that included those two features as only a small percentage of the overall package.
wow, that much ? incredible... Did never use these additional "managers", but in all other aspects I have to say that TinyMCE is indeed superior -- it´s all a matter of taste, but the sheer amount of configuration options is something I would have liked to see in KTML
The point is that there really is no true replacement for KTML right now and that is VERY unfortunate. I believe the reason we are discussing this is in the hopes that Adobe will see how much KTML is missed and bring it back or a suitable alternative
you *are* right, there is no good "extension" replacement, but I´m pretty sure that Adobe simply reviewed KMTL´s possible future in regards to the *very* strong and mature open source competition -- how much development resources (and money) would have been required to make KTML an editor which is on par with what´s already out there, and would this investment guarantee a stable market position ? noone really knows, but this would have been a risk, as KTML´s user-base was not *that* huge after all

    Hello,
My Dreamweaver CS3 crashes everytime I try to upload any PHP
file to the Web Server. It does upload the file but crashes and you
received a "Not Responding" error in the Windows title bar. I did
search alot on this issue until I found the ".

CS3 crashes after DST ends" problem. I deleted the cache file
as required but of NO HELP.
. It is very annoying to restart Dreamweaver
everytime you want to upload any PHP file to the Web Server after
editing it. It doesn't happen with any other types of files. Please
help me guys here or I will lose my mind.

    Bad news for you too.
First, you are not addressing Adobe here in the user forums.
Secondly, Adobe does not support CS3 any longer because it hasn't been sold for years.
Therefore, you're left to the good will of fellow users who volunteer their time here free of charge, if one of them has a solution to your issue.  No one is under any obligation to reply, so ask nicely.
One thing I can tell you is that you have not applied any of the versions available for Photoshop.  Unfortunately, the Adobe auto updater was an unmitigated piece of cr@p in any version prior to CS6.  Do not rely on it to assume you are up to date just because it doesn't show any updates available to you under Help > Updates.
You need to look for the downloads and apply them manually yourself.
I can't offer any more assistance because I don't do Windows.  Sorry.

  • ColdFusion Login Wizard: How do you access this in Dreamweaver CS3

    The 'ColdFusion MX 7 Extensions'

Any help will be very gratefully received!

    Hi Divya,
The below code is working for me. You can try with this: This is for  currently logged in User.
    String userName = "";
              IWDClientUser wdUser = null;
              try
                   wdUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
              catch (WDUMException e)
                   wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException(e.getLocalizedMessage(), false);
              IUser usernam = wdUser.getSAPUser();
              userName = usernam.getUniqueName();
    regards,
    Siva

  • Dreamweaver CS3 reforderss ColdFusion templates

Dreamweaver CS3 reorders ColdFusion template code without
    being asked
When opening a Dreamweaver 8 ColdFusion page, Dreamweaver CS3
    will reorder some ColdFusion tags.
    For example:
    1. <cfswitch expression="#response.errorcode#">
    2. <cfcase value = "10602">
    3. "..Some Code..."
    4. </cfcase>
    5. <cfdefaultcase>
    6. "...Some_Other_Code.."
    7. </cfdefaultcase>
    8. </cfswitch>
    9. <CFQUERY username="#request.dbuser#"
    password="#request.dbpass#" DATASOURCE="#attributes.DSN#">
    10. Blah blah
    11 .</cfquery>
Saved as a Dreamweaver 8 page and then subsequently opened in
Dreamweaver CS3, the code becomes jumbled as:
    1. <cfswitch expression="#response.errorcode#">
    2. <cfcase value = "10602">
    3. "...Some_Code.."
    4.
    5. </cfcase><cfdefaultcase>
    6. "...Some_Other_Code.."
    7. </cfswitch>
    8. </cfdefaultcase><CFQUERY
    username="#request.dbuser#" password="#request.dbpass#"
    DATASOURCE="#attributes.DSN#">
    9. ..blah..blah..
    10. </CFQUERY>
(Note the juxtaposition of the </cfdefaultcase> and
    </cfswitch> tags on lines 7 & 8)
The Command "Clean up XHTML" has no effect.
This behavior occurs on every Mac running DWCS3 in our
office, but doesn't occur on Macs running DW8.
If the CF page is opened in a Text Editor and saved as a Text
doc and then opened in DWCS3 as a Text doc, the code stays intact
    and is not scrambled.
However, as soon as the page is saved with the ".cfm"
extension, DWCS3 scrambles the </cfdefaultcase> and
    </cfswitch> tags.
Adobe Dreamweaver Support has duplicated the error but has no
fix as of yet, so Dreamweaver CS3 is completely useless to me as a
    CF editor.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
