Dreamweaver CS3 Image Viewer ImageLinkTarget Problem
I'm using the Dreamweaver CS3 Image Viewer component to make
a quick Flash slideshow.
I've set the ImageLinkTarget parameter to "_blank". However,
in the slideshow, mouse rollovers show
a hand cursor, but clicking opens the larger image in the
same browser window. Everything I have read says that
this setting should cause the link to open in a new window or
tab.
I have posted the code. If anyone has ever experienced this,
please let me know how to fix/work around it.
Thank you.

Dreamweaver CS3 Image Viewer Flash Element
Here at Cleveland State University, I offer basic training
classes for most Adobe products. We are in the middle of a complete
overhaul of the
http://www.csuohio.edu space. Our
goal to is to create an attractive, website with a consistent look
and feel that makes it easier for our faculty and staff to update
on a more frequent basis. In doing so, we have created a series of
pages that can be easily edited in Dreamweaver CS3. One item we
would like to fully support is the DW CS3 Image Viewer - Flash
Element. However, we have hit a small layout snag.
On the main pages of most college and departmental sites, a
specific space with a finite size is set on a web page for the
image viewer. A site editor then creates images in Photoshop that
are that exact size. The image viewer element is configured to be
that exact size as well. Furthermore, the picture "frame", title,
caption and controls are hidden in the Flesh Element panel.
However, when the page is previewed either in Dreamweaver or in a
browser, the images have been shrunk. There is always a border,
whether it is white or some other color. I assume the color is the
stage color of the Flash .swf file. This causes a misalignment of
the images and the other text.
Another issue is the links that automatically created. Some
of our editors have asked me why, even though they specifically
leave the imageLinks area blank, links seem to be created pointing
to the Adobe.com website.
My questions: is there no way to force the Flash element to
respect the size of the pictures so that no border is showing? Is
there no way to leave the Im
I've done a search on the Adobe.com support site and on the
web and noted that several people have posted questions concerning
this. Unfortunately, no one seems to know what to do about it.
I can send links if you would like to see an example. I'd
greatly appreciate any help you can give me.>I sent a message directly to Murray - one of the Adobe

Dreamweaver CS3 Design View Problem
I am trying to edit a Dreamweaver site using Dreamweaver CS3 on a Windows XP workstation at work. The site structure was developed by an outside vendor and has been designed using CSS for positioning -- no tables. It is my responsibility to finish the site using template pages provided. When viewing the site in several browsers -- both Mac and PC, everything is fine. When I open the site in Dreamweaver CS3 Windows, all of the positioning is off -- the menus that should be flush left of the text colum, instead, appear at the top of the text column. This issue is repeated throughout the site. Since I am using existing pages as templates for new ones, I'm forced to make edits in code view, upload and then view in my browser. My outside vendor, so far, does not have an answer to this.
This weekend at home, I've installed an old Dreamweaver 8 trial version on my Macintosh. I downloaded the site and everything looks fine in Design View. Any ideas? Is this a settings issue on my Windows version of Dreamweaver? I do have the Style Rendering setting set to Screen Media type.Hi,
I found this thread after searching and searching for an answer as to why my Design View in DW CS3 started disappearing (even in split view). It will show a partial view, but never the entire view all at once, even after restarting my PC. I have been using CS3 for a few years now and it just started having this issue. When this issue started, nothing had changed on my computer. There has to be a fix for this. Why did it work fine all these years and now, no design view???? -

KenI just googled and found lots of folks with the same problem. One fellow wrote this as a soluton:
"All you have to do is
remove the values from the imageLinks in the flash element. That
should fix it."
Does it?

Dreamweaver CS3 Remote View file display
Specs:
Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP Pro SP2.
Upgraded from DreamWeaver MX
1680 x 1050 60Hz resolution on vertical display LCD panel
with the monitor turned/displayed verticle so I can view more of
our site tree.
Problem:
When viewing files in split panel display (Remote Site on the
left, Local Files on the right) my Remote Site display will
collapse upward...hiding files from view, but they are actually
still there: I can click Refresh and the tree expands again: After
several seconds or sometimes immediately portions of the
folders/files will collapse/hide again.
It will do this to files I have selected. It will hide files
I have checked out. The worst of it is that sometimes files will
hide or collapse within sub-folders..giving the appearance that
files are stored in incorrect folders.
Thank you for your timeCan you explain the symptoms in more detail? Mixing the use
of DW8 with
DWCS3 would not make remote files appear and disappear.

Dreamweaver CS3 Split View Issue
Hello All,
I just got the new dreamweaver CS3 and when working in split
view nothing is refreshing correctly. What I mean is, if I click on
some text in the design portion of dreamweaver to try and change
the font, css assignment, or whatever I cannot. I have to click on
the text, hit refresh (f5) and then the correct information in the
properties panel shows up. I have the same problem when selecting
something in the code portion of the split; it does not select the
portion in the design section. What is the deal? Dreamweaver 8 did
this fine.
Anyone else have this problem?
AlexWhat OS? Does the problem happen with all files and all
sites, just some,
or just one?

Dw CS3 Image Viewer Is Not There!
Hi ya'll...I'm in Lesson 11 of Dw CS3 CIB and it told

Dreamweaver CS3 has encountered a problem...
I have searched the interent for hours trying to resolve this issue.
Everytime I open up DW, i get the error message:
"Adobe DW CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close."
When i click "send error report" or "Dont send," DW closes.
If I just leave that alone, i can work in DW.
The problem is its also doing it for Adobe Acrobat 8.0.
I am operating on XP.
I have tried to go in and unistall the entire Adobe Creative Suite. I click on "remove" and nothing happens.
I am really frustrated with this. Any help is appreciated.Does CuteFTP work on it's own when DW is closed?
I too, use CuteFTP in conjunction with DW and have for many years and have never had such a problem.
Are you doing anything specific in Cute FTP when DW crashes? -

go to the behaviours window and click on the plus to get the drop

due in really soon.
ThanksIt goes well beyond DW's Show/hide, however....

Dreamweaver CS3 Design view is gone
I did a full page layout and everything looked great. I uploaded the site and it looks fine but there are a few things I need to change. I went back to Dreamweaver and the design view image is gone. All that shows is a gray image witha small box in the upper left corner that shows a small box that looks like a missing image icon? Anyway, nothing else. The code is still there and when I go to preview in browser, it still shows the site. I do most of my work in both design view and code so would really like to find a resolve to this. Thanks!
Link: http://www.jfusekdesign.com/index2.htmlYou have a problem with the markup of your page.. viewing the page in FFox I could see a line of stray 'text' at the very top of the page...
You need to fix the syntax here:

See the line before: <div id="container">
rks/JFD_Web_FINAL_2009.png" tracingopacity="0"> <------this is the line that is not closed correctly and is seen in the browser. Looks like it belongs to another line and somehow, maybe deleting something or other and this has been left behind.
Once you fix that section of the code, then put the page through the validator and check to see if there are other problems:
HTML Validator - http://validator.w3.org
CSS Validator - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
You have a few errors in the lightbox stylesheet that need correcting
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profile=css21&warning=0&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww. jfusekdesign.com%2Findex2.html
Hopefully once all the errors are eliminated the page will show correctly in DW. It only takes an unclosed tag for example, for the page to fail to show up in design view :-) -
Dreamweaver CS3 + Safari for Windows problems
Hello
Well first off I would like to Thank Apple for making a Version of Safari that runs on Windows. As a web developer (using DW CS3 for Windows) I always had to upload a test webpage to a server, look at it on a Mac, and go back to Windows to make adjustments. Now I can do it all in Windows.
I am having a problem with previewing a page on my local machine. When I preview in Safari it just opens my Safari Homepage. I have to preview in Firefox, copy the URL, and paste it into Safari to view my page in Safari.
I don't know if this is a Dreamweaver issue or Safari issue. Any help at all would be great. Thank you. Thanks, Sarah.
My post went out before I was finished. Then tried editing it, during which you replied. My reply to you was then lost, because I'm not allowed to edit... Sorry.
I have been busy figuring out what Safari for Windows will and won't play back through tedious trial and error. It did leave me insecure as to the reliability of AE's output; hence my question. But with this news, I guess it makes more sense for me to just leave it, and hope Safari for Windows users will figure to get another browser, right? Or wait.. maybe I could put in a message that will show to those users...
Thanks again & all best,
Phil -

Include php files usually have this same problem.
The beginning of the code for my rush.php page is as follows

Would that have anything to do with it?

As for "viewing" your web page inside Dreamweaver, it is not
a good idea. Dreamweaver is a basically a HTML editing application.
Ideally speaking, best if you view your web page with any web
brower. Also check with your web page with many browsers, where you
will notice some beheavior or such difference in those two or many
browsers. It depends on how you code your HTML code per se.
Hope that helps.

The beginning of the code for my rush.php page is as follows

Would that have anything to do with it?
