Dreamweaver CS5.5 Crashes Opening 1 File
I'm having problems with Dreamweaver CS5.5 (v 11.5.1.5344) crashing when opening 1 .php file in a site. Other php files in the same site open fine, but when I open this one particular file Dreamweaver CS5.5 stops responding and I have to force quit. I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and have trashed the Preferences completely.
Other sites work as expected and I can open the problematic file in a text editor and make changes successfully.Any tips for what to do next as this is getting really frustrating.
I have lots of crash logs but tried to submit one to Adobe but it was too large to submit.
Thanks
Here's the crashlog if that helps as well:

Dreamweaver cs5.5 opening files after searching for text code
This just occured this afternoon. I was working on a page and when I went to search for text in the code (ie "/head") dreamweaver would open a previously opened page. In other words I was working on "walk.php" and when I did the search for "/head", dreamweaver opens "add_rsurvey_data.txt". I know what the 2nd file is but I haven't opened it in months. It's just a temp data file that my partner sent me.
I'm using cs5.5
Adobe will not help me.
Thanks

If this began yesterday, try deleting your Cache & restarting DW.

Zepto - Dreamweaver CS5 crashes
Hi,
if I try to open the zepto.js file (Zepto.js: the aerogel-weight jQuery-compatible JavaScript library) Dreamweaver CS5 crashes. Even if I just try to include the file in an HTML document with 'script src="zepto.js"' without opening the js file, Dreamweaver crashes also.
Anyone who has / had the same problem? I don't know how to work with Zepto when Dreamweaver crashes every time.In the past I have worked with Zepto (for Foundation) without a problem using DWCC.
I reverted back to using jQuery when I realised that I needed jQuery for some of my widgets because Zepto did not cope.
If you keep having problems with Zepto in DW, perhaps you should switch back. The loss of performance in doing so is negligible. -
**HELP** Dreamweaver won't open files!!!!
I am in a very bad spot right now in that Dreamweaver will not open files; neither .html or .php, neither those created by me, or by others.
I am taking a class in which we must use DW to complete Lynda exercises and my DW will simply not open any files. I have even created test files in DW, saved them, tried to re-open with DW and all that happens is the application frame blinks and no open document appears.
I have a fresh, completly brand-new install of DW as of 6 days ago; all other CS6 apps in my suite work perfectly with no problem or issue whatsoever.
I've never experienced an app doing this before; re-installing, trashing the prefs do not cure the problem.
Maybe sound silly but could my copy of the CS6 downloaded installer contain a "bad" installer of DW?
Please help, if you can; out of ideas here!
thank you in advance,
wwkjeiwoi wrote:
yes, TW opens no problem
OS X
I may have found a fix: changing the files' "Open With" to Dreamweaver.
never been a problem before, but DW appears to care very much about what this is set to.
thank you!
Actually your OS cares very much what this is set to.
I keep Firefox as my default app topen HTML files, JS, CSS, ASP, PHP all open with DW but my regular files open in the browser. I find it kkeps me from accidentally editing apage I only wanted to view if I limit my ability to open an HTML doc with DW to openingit from within DW (no double clicking an HTML file to open DW) -

Flash Pro CS5 crashes opening large-ish files
When I try to open any FLAs greater than 50Meg or so, I get "Could not open one or more scenes probably beacuse of low memory" dialog box. This dialog appears several times, then Flash crashes.The system has 4G total physical memory, and plenty (2 Gig+) of physical memory is free and available when the crash occurs.
The same files can be opened on a Mac running CS5. The files were originally CS4, but I tried using the Mac to save them in CS5 format, and the CS5 files also consistenyly fail to open.

Im running Windows 7 x64.
When I switch between open documents that are docked Dreamweaver CS5 keeps crashing on me :-(
In addition, after each crash when I open it back up again it looses my layout preferences ( I prefer the right nav

This is hindering my productivity quite a bit....

Dreamweaver can't open files form other mac
Hi,
i've got a problem with dreamweaver cs3 and opening a
html-file which is on an other (new) iMac. Dreamweaver sees the
file when browsing to it (after open...) but then says the file was
not found. When i double click the file dreamweaver crashes. I used
to work like this all the time, but the problem occured after we
changed the host-computer (from a g5 to an iMac). There is no
problem when i open and save documents on my own computer.
I also can't save to the other computer. Strangely enough it
will put a saved document on MY computer in a directory with the
same name (Documenten) as on the remote computer although i DO
navigate to the remote computer go into that directory and say
"save". But then the document ends up on my own computer... very
spooky :-))
anyone any thoughts??
hope so!
regards,
rob oostenrijkas a random guess- does the hard drive name or a folder in
the path to this
document on the other computer contain a "funky" character
like punctuation
or similar?

DreamWeaver CS5 Crashes In Code View
So, I've upgraded from CS4 to CS5, and everything was working fine for a month, but yesterday DW5 seems to be crashing evertime I click on a specific ASP page, in code view, and more specifically in the vbscript section of that page. I can be anywhere else on that page, but if I click in or cursor into the vbscript section, instacrash.
I can open other asp pages in the site, and some don't crash it, but this one particular page is a guaranteed full crash when I click anywhere in the vbscript section of the page.
Config is DW CS5, WIn 7 x64, 6GB RAM, everything fully patched and updated, both OS and CS5 apps.
I have four minidumps already from today. Productive work is impossible. Any solutions?Did you ever figure out the answer to this problem? I'm having a similar problem where if I try to edit ANY code in dreamweaver, it crashes.
Example of code
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
See what I mean by any code? Even a fresh bare bones HTML doc crashes when trying to edit in any way, letter, space, del, backspace, etc. -
Dreamweaver CS5 crashes in split screen and other cases
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!
It's affecting my productivity.
I'm running SP2 to Enterprise Vista
CS5 will open just fine. It will open a plain HTML file just fine. but then when I go to split screen and click on the design window I find that it hasn't completely painted the whole of the code into the design portion... in other words it has painted like half the page... and now that I've clicked on the design portion it will crash. The same will happen in reverse... if I'm already on the design window and click over to source it will crash.
I have checked my code thinking maybe there is something drastically wrong with the code that is confusing DW, but isn't that what DW is for?? to be able to edit code that doesn't work right as well as build pages and sites? I shouldn't have to go and check code in another editor. Regardless, the problem remained. (In the words of the great pessimist, Charlie Brown, "Good grief!")
Any ideas?! BTW, I had CS5 installed before and just had to recently re-image my HD. It worked fine before with the same information as above... the only difference being that my previous CS5 was an upgrade from CS4. My new install is a direct install into CS5.Jocke27 wrote:
What do you mean with corrupt?
Why did you suggest that I created a new profile?
There are cache files and other system files that are created every time a user account is created. Sometimes these are corrupted in the OS and it really has no bearing on the specific application but it can lead to erratic behavior. Creating a new user recreates all these system files and thus it's almost like starting fresh. It's one step shy of re-installation of an OS. So because changing the user fixed the issue, then we have eliminated the fact that the application is causing the error and we know the OS is causing the error.
I can't just go in to that profile when I want to use?
I wouldn't recommend it. This can lead to more problems with the OS down the road with other applications and depending on where the corruption lies it can lead to issues with OS upgrades or even installing new software. The files that are typically most critical to users are stored in the Applications folder or the Documents/Sites/Pictures folders. You can easily drag them over to a new user account. If you have email being backed up for a product like Thunderbird you can also bring over many of the Library items as well. -
Dreamweaver CS5 for Mac - Files within the whole panel minimize
I'm working in Dreamweaver CS5 for Mac. Dreamweaver is active and open with the Panel open with files, CSS styles etc tabs open. I want to add an image to the my Image folder within the Files tab. Well when I click the Finder icon, it takes focus off Dreamweaver and then the Panel disappears. This makes it difficult to add pictures to my current site I'm working on. Then when I click the Dreamweaver screen again this Panel reappears.
Is there a setting to keep this whole Panel from minimizing or disappearing when Dreamweaver is not on focus?
Thank you.
CCAssuming you have defined a LOCAL SITE within DW, use INSERT > IMAGE (browse to the image on your local HD or DW Local Site folder)
If image is not already in the DW Local Site Folder, you will get a prompt to copy the image there. Hit YES and tell DW where to put the image within your local site.
Or maybe I'm missing something....

Photoshop Cs5 not opening files
I'm not actually completely sure if this is an issue with Mavericks because the problem started about 2 1/2 weeks ago, but my Photoshop Cs5 won't open files anymore. As soon as the app launches, I can click on "open..." but as I'm selecting the file, the window will close and after that, every choice on all the drop-down menus is grayed out and can no longer be selected. I've already installed Java for OS X 2012-006 with no luck, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling PS Cs5 with no luck. Help pleaseeeeeee D:
Reset your Photoshop preferences: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776
Uninstalling and reinstalling WON'T do that unless you used the CS Cleaner from Adobe to uninstall.
Also, check your Performance preferences:
Toggle OpenGL drawing, quitting Photoshop between changes. -
Can Photoshop CS5.1 open files created/saved in CS6?
I work in a collaborative environment. I've upgraded to CS6, but those i work with are working in photoshop cs5.1. Will they have problems opening files i create or save in CS6?
I don't know that I can offer a better long answer, nor do I know of any published list of things you can save in a Photoshop CS6 document that won't open properly in an earlier version. I have tried a few things myself, like creating shapes, text, etc. and found that Photoshop CS5 sees them all just fine. But it's not hard to think of things that wouldn't work, such as putting a brand new filter as a smart filter in a document.
Just using the cool new features would not necessarily net you incompatibility. For example, doing a Content Aware Move or one of the new blurs just manipulate pixels, and at the end of the day the layer will just have pixels on it, which every version of Photoshop has known about all along.
Things like recording brush strokes in an action and trying to run the action on an earlier Photoshop would yield incompatibility, because older versions wouldn't know how to play such brush strokes back.
There is a "Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility" setting in the File Handling preferences, and the implication is that others will always be at the very least able to open a flattened version of the document, but I'm not sure that covers every case of individual incompatibility between recent versions of Photoshop. I've never had occasion to test it out thoroughly.
Maybe one of the Adobe people can speak to this in more detail.
Do you still have a copy of Photoshop CS5 installed? If so, and you're not sure about whether your PSD file is going to be compatible, you could of course try it yourself to be sure.

Dreamweaver CS5 not opening!
Hi
Don't know if this is the right forum, but has anyone else found that Dreamweaver CS5 won't open on latest OX, using a 64 bit machine (Mac Pro Dual Quad Core), and does anyone know any work arounds? I've spent 3 hours on the phone to Adobe technical support without a solution.
Thanks.Yeah, I checked the log by searching for Dreamweaver. Anyway, Adobe have released an update that fixed my problem.
Thanks
