Drilldown across columns with a structure

Hi,
In my Columns i had a structure with elements consisting of Selections/restrictions on Cal Year/Month -Current Cal Month and Offsets
In my Rows i have KF.
So the columns are Cal Year/Mon
When i Drilldown across rows on Cal Week/year,Under each month it is displaying all the list of weeks based on Cal Year/Month  insted of weeks for that month
Please update how to correct this

In your structure, select its properties and enable the Suppression on the structure.

  • Report on BEx query with 2 structures (one in rows and one in columns)

Hi, experts! I have to make Crystall report on BEx query with 2 structures, one in columns (with KF's), and one in rows. Is it possible to create such report? Because when I create such report, I cant see fields in structures, only characteristics fields.
Ok, I found samr problem in another thread. Sorry.
Edited by: Mikhail Sychev on Dec 5, 2009 9:53 PM

    Hey Flora,
Happy to hear that its working now.
Answering your question, again its upto the connection and report format you are using. Based on your question i hope you your report output should be like this.
You cannot map to two labels for the series, again this report format is possible only in cross tab through Webi. I would suggest you to concatenate the material and month in a dimension in webi like below.
I have done the concatenation in excel level, i would suggest you to do that in webi. Try to reduce the formula as much in excel.
    or
If you are using Query browser connection, then i would suggest you to create a separate report which will display the actual vs plan material wise, here you need to pass the material as a prompt.
Hope this helps in clear, please revert me for any clarification.

  • Report Designer with two Structure in Column

    Hi Experts,
Is not possible a Report Designer use a query with 2 structure in column ?
If  i need use two structure in the column, exist a workaround for this case ?
    Tks and best regads ...

    Unfortunately not.
You may try to work around to have set of virtual chars and key figures; but resposne time will not be encouraging.

  • Bad performance when deleting report column in webi(with "Design – Structure only")

    Hi all,
One of our customer has recently upgraded from BO XI to BO4.1. In the new BO 4.1, they encountered a bad performance issue when they were deleting a column in Webi(using "Design – Structure only" mode).
With “Design – Structure only" mode,  it took webi about 10 seconds to complete after the customer right-clicked a report column and clicked the "delete".  The customer said that they only need to wait for less than 1 second when they did the same in BO XI old version.
The new BO version used is 4.1SP02, installed in Windows Server 2008 R2. (Server with 32 core CPU, 32G memory)
This bad performance happened in both Webi web and Rich Client. (in Webi Rich Client, the performance is a little bit better. The 'delete column' action takes about 8 seconds to complete).
Do anyone know how to tune this performance in webi?  Thank you.
Besides, it seems that each time we are making change in the webi report structure in IE or Rich Client, webi need to interact with Server site to upload the changes. Is there any option to change this behavior?  Say, do not upload change to Server for when 'deleting report column', only trigger the upload after a set of actions(e.g. trigger when click the "Save" button).
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Eton.

    Hi all,
Could anyone help me on this?  Thanks!
What customer concerns now is that when they did the same 'column editing' action in BO XI R2 for the same report, they did not need to wait.  And they need to wait for at least 7-8 second in the BO 4.1SP02 environment for this action to complete.(data already purged, in structure-only mode)
One more information about the webi report being editing is: there are many sheets in the report(about 6~10 sheets in one report). Customer don't want to separate these sheet into different reports  as it will increase the effort of their end users to locate similar report sheets.

    Eton.

  • No drilldown option for Formulas in structure

Hi Experts, Could you throw some light on the following issue.
My char structure is as follows,I have a grouping done on GL and when i drill down I shd see the GL only for selections and not for formula i.e. the formula should not drilldown and show GL's.see the below example.
    Example,
    A - SALES(GL grouping)
    B - TAX &DUTIES(GL grouping)
    C - Formula (SALES  + TAX & DUTIES)
For summarised report ,the above display is OK but when I drilldown and see GL level data,is there anyway to supress and make the formula as static(no drilldown for formula).
Kindly guide me if there is any way out .
    Regards
    Raja Premsingh

I think you only want to see the values for key figures A, B and C in the result rows and not in the details when you have a drilldown on GL, am I right?
What you could do, is create a new calculated key figure to determine the number of GL's. You could use a formula variable with replacement path for constant 1 on GL, or created a a copy of key figure A with aggregation level GL and counting all values <> 0.
Once you have a column with the number of GLs, create a formula like ( number of GLs > 1 ) * key figure A. This way, only the result rows will show values.
    Kind regards,
    Alex

  • One Key FIgure in more than one column with different restrictions

    Hi,
I am using a key figure in more than one column with different restrictions, but restriction in one column is affecting the result in other column. What shall i do to make it independent from one another??

    Hi Pravender Chauhan,
If you want in Single column different value for different Rows based on same Key Figure, you can create Structure where you can define different logic for each row but using same key figure.
If you want to use different Key figures then you should have to Restricted Key Figure and for any calculation you can use calculated Key figure.
    Assign points if Useful.

  • How to insert data in a column with uniqueidefier data type

    Guys,
I need insert data in a column with uniqueidefier data type, when i am trying to that getting error.
error message says: "Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier."
    I have data in table a col1,col2,col3,col4 - col3,col4 has datatype as varchar and i am updating table b columns col1,col2 with table a col3 and col4.
Please guide how to do it.

    Hi,
Not any String can be convert to uniqueidentifier.
    1. you have to make sure u use a value which is fir to be uniqueidentifier
    2. Use convert or cast in the insert query in order to convert the string into uniqueidentifier
insert X ... convert(uniqueidentifier, 'string which fit to be convert to uniqueidentifier')
Please post DDL+DML for more specific help
DDL = Data Definition Language. In our case that is, CREATE TABLE statements for your tables and other definitions that are needed to understand your tables structure and there for let us to test and reproduce the problem in our server. Without DDL no one
    can execute any query.
How to get DDL: Right click on the table in Object Explorer and select script table as CREATE. Post these create table scripts here.
DML = data manipulation language is a family of queries used for manipulating the data it self like: inserting, deleting and updating data. In our case we need some sample data in order to check the query and get result, so we need some indert query for
    sample data.
If you post a "create query" for the tables and "insert query" with some sample, then we could help you without Assuming/Guessing. There is a reason that DDL is generally asked for and expected when discussing query problems - it helps
to identify issues, clarify terminology and prevent incorrect assumptions.  Sample data also provides a common point of reference for the discussion. A script that can be used to illustrate or reproduce the issue you have, will encourage others to help.

  • XML import for repetition, is repitition with this structure possible

If it is possible, what does the XML and or template structure have to look like, in order to support repeating sections of
    1. Chapter name (as a text)
    2. Table
    1. Chapter name
    2. Table
    1. Chapter name
    2. Table
    and so on...
Everything should be inside a text frame, in order to let the paragraph style of "Chapter name" always begin a new page. The text container is mapped to the xml element called "grp" in the example below.
I've imported in numerous ways with varying degrees of correctness, so if there is anyone that knows what I mean and how to tackle the problem, I would be very glad. I can work around the XML and the document in almost any way...
I only get it to work if there are sufficient number of chapternames and tables put out on the body page from start. I would like InDesign to create copies of the "template"...
But having just one "template" out on the body page, I get a result like this in the structure (and just the first one is mapped to the body page template, as you can see – the rest of them being empty unmapped XML brackets):
    Thanks,
    Andreas

I made a layout on the first body page, and then I imported into that.
Err, you mean a text frame, not a layout, right? OK, I haven't played with it that way, I'll take a look at it tomorrow (might be a while) -- if no one else ha solved it first.
(The tables are not visible in the structure, howcome?)
I believe that once a table is converted from an XML table into an InDesign table, it is no longer visible as a distinct XML object, just like two letters in a word are not visible in the structure. (I could be wrong on this).
Yes, I used CALS tables. Why? Because it was the default. I made a layout like you described and exported it to XML, cleaned up the XML,
and reimported it for my test. CALS was the default checkbox, so I went with it. I don't think it has naything to do with the structure question.
I didn't use cals tables in my own XML file, but ordinary ones, mapped by column.
Aren't those more annoying to use?
    Anyhow:
... but the repetition doing it my way does not work – as it does in your sample (and for me too, trying it), dragging the structure out onto the page.
So, is dragging it a good solution for you? Is your problem solved? Or does that not meet your needs?

  • Crystal report based on BW query with two structures

    Hi,
I use a BW query with 2 structures. In the rows there is a structure of restricted characteristic 0material. I used this characteristics several times in different rows to restrict these rows to specific products.
    Cars
    motorcycles
    Others
In the columns I have a structure of key figures. Every key figure is restricted to a specific time intervall.
So in BW the executed query looks like this:
Key figure 1         Key figure 2        Key figure 3
      Cars                   10                     30                         100
      motorcycles        20                   100                          30
      Others                30                    40                           39
If I use the same query in Crystal then I have access to the 3 keyfigures and to one structure element.
How can I ensure that the query is displayed in CR like in BW? I tried to work with crosstabs but I was not able to get the same display like in BW.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Create dynamic internal table with dynamic structure

I have an internal table itab1 that have 12 amount fields from period1 thru period12.  I need to create a dynamic table with dynamic structure for the  period column if the total amount of each column  is > 0.  Any idea on how to do that?
For example if my itab1 has 20 rows and the sum of period1 = 35, sum of period2 = 0, sum of period3 = 5, sum of period4 =0, sum of period5 = 2 then I need to create a dynamic structure for the field column that have the total > 0, i.e  structure struct1 have field period1, period3 and period5 only.  Then I will need to load the data to itab2 from itab1.  Can someone help.
Thanks.  I am on 4.7 and will upgrade to ERP 6.0 soon.

  • Blank columns with title

    Hi All,
How do I create a blank column with the column name in the report?
I tried with "structure-new selection" with the report name(Structure being Key Figures)- the system pops out an error message stating that it needs unique value  for each cell.
    Thanking in advance.

    Thanks Bhanu. It did work.
I did try query properties suppression zeroes for both rows and columns with Active =0 but it is not suppressing the zeroes.
    Thanks again.

  • Performance between two partitionned tables with different structure

    Hi,
I would like if there is a difference between two partitionned tables with different structure in term of performance (access, query, insertions, updates ).
I explain myself in detail :
I have a table that stores one value every 10 minutes in a day (so we have 144 values (24*6) in the whole day), with the corresponding id.
    Here is the structure :
    | Table T1 |
    + id PK |
    + date PK |
    + sample1 |
    + sample2 |
    + ... |
    + sample144 |
The table is partionned on the column date, with a partionned every months. The primary key is based on the columns (id, date).
There is an additionnal index on the column (id) (is it useful ?).
I would like to know if it is better to have a table with just (id, date, value) , so for one row in the first table we'll have 144 rows in the future? table. The partition will already be on the columns (id, date) with the index associated.
What are the gains or loss in performance with this new structure ( access, DMLs , storage ) ?
I discuss with the Java developers and they say it is simpler to manage in their code.
Oracle version : Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production

I mean storage in tablespaces and datafiles on disk.
Can you justify please and give me concrete arguments why the two structures are equivalent ( except inserting data in T(id, date, value))
because i have to make a report.i didnt say any thing like
two structures are equivalent ( except inserting data in T(id, date, value)i said
    About structure : TABLE1(id, date, value) is better than TABLE1(id, date, sample1, .... sample144)because
    1) oracle has restriction for numbers of column. Ok you can have 144 columns now but for future if you must have more than 1000 columns , what will you do?
    2) Restrictions on Table Compression (Table compression is not supported for tables with more than 255 columns.)
    3) store same type values on diffrent columns is bad practise

i remember i seen Toms article about this but now i cant find it sorry ((( if i found i will post here

  • Keep together gropus across columns

Hello! I'm creating a lot of reports with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010, and I'm unable to keep togheter groups across columns. This funcionality only works across pages.
I've benn searching a lot in this forum and others and it appears that it's impossible to do this. And it also appears that the problem has been there for many years and still no solutions for this issue.
This is a huge weakness for Crystal Reports, because displaying details in colums is very useful for many reasons, so I want to know if anyone has found any kind of solution for this and if there will be a solution soon.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi Gustaav,
    questions:
    1) are you referring to a Multi-Column report where you want to force the new group to start in a new column?
    2) if a group is longer than one column do you want it to start on a new column as well?
    3) if a group is longer than one column, do you want to have the group header repeated on the 2nd, 3rd... columns?

  • Add column with preq number to ALV grid in me53n

    hi all,
i am trying to add column with preq number (BANFN) to ALV with preq items in ME53N. it is not available in column set, when trying to add by "change layout" button - i dont understand why, when the strcucture MEREQ3211GRID contains it :-(
i also tried to add new field ZZBANFN into the structure CI_EBANMEM and after that, i could add the new field to ALV through change layout, but it was empty of course. so i implemented EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_001 from MEREQ001, but ZZBANFN is still empty, because this exit is not called when opening ME53N, but when clicking on tab "customer data" in preq item detail.
how to solve this? is there any exit that is called before displaying the ALV grid?

Here is some more detail. I included my code from the Enhancement.
    ENHANCEMENT-POINT MM06EFPO_POT_AUFBAUEN_02 SPOTS ES_MM06EFPO_POT_AUFBAUEN INCLUDE BOUND.
       ENHANCEMENT 1  Z_MM06EFPO_POT_AUFBAUEN_1.    "active version
      SELECT SINGLE zz_old_material FROM mara
        INTO pot-zz_old_material
        WHERE matnr = pot-matnr.
    ENDENHANCEMENT.
You will also need to change the layout in Item Overview to bring your field in.

  • What's up with file structure?

I just upgraded to a new Mac with Leopard and seem to have issues with the way the file structure setup on Leopard (opens or saves) files. In Tiger, if I wanted to open a file from a program (Illustrator) it would show the last folder I opened, but I could scroll left to see all folders listed and folders in other folders all the way back to the hard drive. In Leopard, it only shows the last folder and if I want to go back, I need to click the drop down and go back and then try and remember where the folder within a folder is. I like seeing all folders all the way back that gives the option to click on a folder where ever. Is there a way to set Leopards file structure like Tigers. Seems to be one more thing the Apple has done that I don't like. It causes more clicks and slows the process down.
    Mark

i'm not sure exactly what you mean?
Can I not post images in the forum? If I could I would show the difference, but I will try and explain.
In both Leopard and Tiger I see the three options for view. I use column view on each. In Tiger I can see the column of the folder I last opened and next to it is a column that the last folder is in along with all the other folders in that column and so on all the way back to the root hard drive with a scroll left and right to move.
In Leopard, it only shows a column for the last folder and next to it there is only the side bar with the Devices (root hard drives), Shared, Places and so on. I can always start over and if I am five folders over I will need to click five times to get to the location or three depending where I want to go. I can also click the drop down menu and go to the third folder back but can't see what's in it until I click it.
My setup in like this basically: Macintosh HD/business/customers (40 + folders)/dates (dates on design work in each customer folder)/revisions (edits of the designs)
So if I have worked on a file in Macintosh HD/business/customers (aaa)/dates (2/11/09)/revisions (edit3.ai) and want to open file in folder customer (fff), I do not see a column with customers listed where I can just look three columns back and click on customer (fff) to open that folder. In Tiger I can see all folders under each column..../business/customers/dates and so on.
I know it's not that big a deal, but I liked it better the old way. Can I still have this option?
