Drilldown and Multiple types of Counts
We need an operational analytics around Siebel Activities
Activities dimension are primarily
- Activity Type
- Owner
- Owner Supervisor
Activity Fact in our case comprises of
- Count #s
- Overdue #s [Count where Activity Status = 'Open' AND DUE_DATE < CURRENT_DATE]
- Due #s [Count where Activity Status = 'Open' AND DUE_DATE = CURRENT_DATE+ 1]
- Callback #s [Count where Activity Status = 'Open' AND DUE_DATE = CURRENT_DATE+ 1]
The Answer report should list as follows
Activity counts (Overdue #s, Due #s, Callback #s) should be listed for a call center Owner supervisor - This does not seem to be a problem
Drilling on Call Center Owner Supervisor, the report should show counts for each individuals or Owner under Call Center supervisor - This does not seem to be a problem
But the business is expecting one more drilldown, Ability to click on Individual or Owner and display Overdue Activity Id's, Due Activity Id's and Call back Activity Id's individually
Would appreciate your insight as to how to solve this. Can this be solved by Narratives? Can we show three drilldown, one for each count ? Please help
Hi,
Instead of using drill down you can create two diffrent drilled reports.On click of Owner supervisor navigate to first report containing individual or owner and respective counts.From that report navigate to next report which will have Overdue Activity Id's, Due Activity Id's and Call back Activity Id's.
Put necessary columns as is prompted so that context from parent report is passed to child report.
Thanks
Sandeep

Is it possible to have multiple page sizes and print types in the same pdf?
Is it really possible to have a pdf which has multiple pages and each of them have pages which are of different page sizes (e.g. letter, A4, A3) and print types (e.g. Simplex, Duplex)???
Thanks,
Phoenixyou can definately do different page sizes by using different master pages. You can set the paper type for each master page in the object>master page palette.

Error count based on business unit and Vehicle type
Hi,
i have a custom error idoc table which contains idoc no, business unit, vehicle type and error message.
Now here my requirement is to display the total count(Error count) of each message based on business unit and
Vehicle type and display it in the output list as shown below. what is the best way to achieve this as there will be number(atleast 6) of error messages available for a business unit based on vehicle type and there are around 15 business units overall for which i should display the error count.
buisness unit| Vehicle Type | Status | Error message | Error count
71320 WT10 51 Organizational channel missing 10
WT10 51 SMC Missing | 15
72000 WT20 51 Creation of vehicle not possible| 12
WT20 51 Status change not requested | 10
regards,
ManiHi,
Assign business unit level read access to your entity for which you have written the Report.
Assign the respective business unit to the user, in your case assign business unit Partner to user Partner
and business unit Manager to user Manager
Also use filtered view in your report if it is SSRS report.

Std Msg Type and Idoc Type to send multiple characteristics for equipment
Hello Experts,
I have the requirement to send all the assigned characteristics linked to an Equipment or linked to a Material, along with the all possible values BUT require only standard Message Type and Idoc Basic Type.
I found Message Type = CHRMAS and Idoc Type = CHRMAS04, BUT it contain information of ONLY one characteristic, not solve my objective (multiple characteristics in one Idoc)
Will you please provide me any standard Message Type and Idoc Basic Type that solve my above requirement?
Thanks in advance,
akgHello Experts,
Can you at least tell me, is there anything standrad that can fulfill my above requirement?
If not then I will proceed with custom developments; and in this case is there any complexity to transmit the custom Idoc?
Thanks in advance,
Thanks & Regards

When I open FF I get 1 XP window and multiple Win7 type windows. Why?
Ever since I switched to FF 4 and now in FF 5, when I open FF I will get 1 window in the WinXP format (no orange button) and multiple windows in Win7 format (with orange button). When FF crashes, I get the apologetic "couldn't restore these" window and it lists multiple empty windows. After I delete them from the restore window and restore my XP window everything works fine. Once I start accessing sites that use "kill windows" such as banks and brokerages, the windows start reappearing again. Can you fix this?
By the way the text in drop down boxes is vibrating in FF4 and FF5. Can you fix this too?1. I know how to get the orange button, that is not the issue. I am interested in eliminating the problem of having 20 or more windows opening whenever I start FF. By the way the "kill windows" predated FF4, but the multiple window problem started with FF4. I am running FF 3.x.x on another computer without this problem.
2. It seems that some major banks and brokerages open a "kill window" when logging out of their site. The term "kill window" is what appears in the blue band at the top of the window. The window contains no other information.
3. When I say the text is vibrating, I mean that it is jumping up and down vertically. This does not prevent making a selection, but it is annoying. -
Difference between line type and table type
hi,
can any one explain the difference between line type and table type . and how to declare a internal table and work area in BSP'shi,
Go through this blog, this might help you.
/people/tomas.altman/blog/2004/12/13/sdn-blog-how-to-do-internal-tables-in-bsp
People who have worked with ABAP for a while sometimes forget that the internal table concept is rather different than what exists in most programming languages. It is very powerful, but at the same time can be confusing.
In SAP it is possible to have a table which is the rows and a headerline which is the working area or structure which can then be commited to the table.
With a BSP, if we try to create an internal table within the BSP event or layout we will get the following error: mso-bidi-
"InternalTableX" is not an internal table - the "OCCURS n" specification is mso-bidi- missing.
class="MsoNormal"><![if !supportEmptyParas]>The problem we are seeing as an inconsistency has to do with the difference between classic ABAP and ABAP Objects. When SAP introduced ABAP Objects they decided to clean up some of the legacy syntax and create stricter rules. However they didn't want to break the millions of line of code that already existed, so they only implemented these stricter checks when OO is being used. Therefore you can declare a table with a header line in a regular ABAP program or Function Module but you can't have one with a header line in OO.
Because everything in BSP generates ABAP OO classes behind the scenes, you get these same stricter syntax checks. My suggestion is that you have a look in the on-line help at the section on ABAP Objects and always follow the newer syntax rules even when writing classic ABAP programs.
In a BSP when we need to work with a table we must always do the following:
1, in the Types definitions create a structure:
types : begin of ts_reclist,
mso-bidi- style='mso-tab-count:2'> receiver type somlreci1-receiver,
mso-bidi- style='mso-tab-count:2'> style='mso-tab-count: 1'> rec_type type somlreci1-rec_type,
mso-bidi- style='mso-tab-count:2'> end of ts_reclist.
mso-bidi- <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
but we must remember this is only a structure definition and we cannot store anything in it, although we can use it elsewhere as a definition for Structures(WorkAreas)
2, in our Types definitions (this is the best place for this one as we can then access it from many areas without having to create it locally) so in the Types definitions we must create a TableType:
class="MsoNormal"> types : tt_reclist type table of ts_reclist.
class="MsoNormal"><![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]> this TableType is our table definition and again we cannot store anything in it, but we can use it elsewhere as a definition for InternalTables
3, now that you have laid the foundations you can build and in the event handler, it is now simply a case of creating the InternalTable based upon the Table definition:
data: t_reclist type tt_reclist.
and creating the structure based upon the structure definiton:
<![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]> data: s_reclist type ts_reclist.
as described above, the structure becomes the work area and this is where you assign new values for elements of the table eg:<![endif]>
s_reclist-receiver = '[email protected]'. "<-- change address
mso-bidi- <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
mso-bidi- s_reclist-rec_type = 'U'.
and then once the data is in the elements of the structure, the structure can be appended to the internal table as follows: class="MsoNormal">
append s_reclist to t_reclist.
<![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
the internal table will then be readable for the ABAP function and can be applied for example as follows: class="style1"> style='mso-tab-count:1; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, mono;'>
class="style1">CALL FUNCTION 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1'
EXPORTING
style='mso-tab-count:2'> document_data = docdata
style='mso-tab-count:2'> DOCUMENT_TYPE = 'RAW'
style='mso-tab-count:2'> PUT_IN_OUTBOX = 'X'
style='mso-tab-count:2'> COMMIT_WORK = 'X' "used from rel.6.10
TABLES
mso-bidi-font-size: style='mso-tab-count:2'> receivers = t_reclist
class="style1"> <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
<![if !supportEmptyParas]>F inally, a comment from Thomas Jung,
<![if !supportEmptyParas]> when defining my work area for an internal table I like to use the like line of statement. That way if I change the structure of my table type, I know that my work area will still be OK. Second, your types and table types don't have to just be declared in your code. You can create a table type in the data dictionary and use it across multiple programs(also great for method and function parameters). I really push hard for the other developers at my company to use the Data Dictionary Types more and more.
Hope this helps, Do reward. -
Trying to send multiple types in a byte array -- questions?
Hi,
I have a question which I would really appreciate any help on.
I am trying to send a byte array, that contains multiple types using a UDP app. and then receive it on the other end.
So far I have been able to do this using the following code. Please note that I create a new String, Float or Double object to be able to correctly send and receive. Here is the code:
//this is on the client side...
String mymessage ="Here is your stuff from your client" ;
int nbr = 22; Double nbr2 = new Double(1232.11223);
Float nbr3 = new Float(8098098.809808);
ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(baos);
oos.writeObject(mymessage);
oos.writeInt(nbr);
oos.writeObject(nbr2);
oos.writeObject(nbr3);
oos.close();
byte[] buffer = baos.toByteArray();
socket.send(packet);
//this is on the server side...
byte [] buffer = new byte [5000];
String mymessage = null; int nbr = 0; Double nbr2 = null;
Float nbr3 = null;
mymessage = (String)ois.readObject();
nbr = ois.readInt();
nbr2 = (Double) ois.readObject();
nbr3 = (Float) ois.readObject();
My main question here is that I have to create a new Float and Double object to be able to send and receive this byte array correctly. However, I would like to be able to have to only create 1object, stuff it with the String, int, Float and Double, send it and then correctly receive it on the other end.
So I tried creating another class, and then creating an obj of this class and stuffing it with the 4 types:
public class O_struct{
//the indiv. objects to be sent...
public String mymessage; public int nbr; public Double nbr2;
public Float nbr3;
//construct...
public O_struct(String mymessage_c, int nbr_c, double nbr2_c, float nbr3_c){
my_message = my_message_c;
nbr = nbr_c;
nbr2 = new Double(nbr2_c);
nbr3 = new Float(nbr3_c);
Then in main, using this new class:
in main():
O_struct some_obj_client = new O_struct("Here is your stuff from your client", 22, 1232.1234, 890980980.798);
oos.writeObject(some_obj_client);
oos.close();
send code....according to UDP
However on the receiving side, I am not sure how to be able to correctly retrieve the 4 types. Before I was explicitely creating those objects for sending, then I was casting them again on the receiving side to retrieve then and it does work.
But if I create a O_struct object and cast it as I did before with the indiv objects on the receiving end, I can't get the correct retrievals.
My code, on the server side:
O_struct some_obj_server = new O_struct(null, null, null. null);
some_obj_server = (O_struct)ois.readObject();
My main goal is to be able to send 4 types in a byte array, but the way I have written this code, I have to create a Float and Double obj to be able to send and receive correctly. I would rather not have to directly create these objects, but instead be able to stuff all 4 types into a byte array and then send it and correctly be able to retrieve all the info on the receiver's side.
I might be making this more complicated than needed, but this was the only way I could figure out how to do this and any help will be greatly appreciated.
If there an easier way to do I certainly will appreciate that advise as well.
Thanks.public class O_struct implements Serializable {
// writing
ObjectOutputStream oos = ...;
O_struct struct = ...;
oos.writeObject(struct);
// reading
ObjectInputStream ois = ...;
O_struct struct = (O_struct)ois.readObject();
I will be sending 1000s of these byte arrays, and I'm sure having to create a new Double or Float on both ends will hinder this.
I am worried that having to create new objs every time it is sending a byte array will affect my application.
That's the wrong way to approach this. You're talking about adding complexity to your code and fuglifying it because you think it might improve performance. But you don't know if it will, or by how much, or even if it needs to be improved.
Personally, I'd guess that the I/O will have a much bigger affect on performance than object creation (which, contrary to popular belief, is generally quite fast now: http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-jtp01274.html)
If you think object creation is going to be a problem, then before you go and cock up your real code to work around it, create some tests that measure how fast it is one way vs. the other. Then only use the cock-up if the normal, easier to write and maintain way is too slow AND the cock-up is significantly faster. -
Photoshop cs6 running extremely slow on opening a file. have reset prefs and set type to none. have to force quit most of the time.
I'm experiencing the same trouble. Photoshop takes 5 minutes to open then runs fine.
I recently bought a new iMac AND updated to Adobe Master Collection CS6. My concern is that PhotoShop now takes 5 minutes to open. The Photoshop desktop pops up immediately, but the moment you click on a tool or try to open a file (no matter the size) results in the spinning wheel for five minutes before you can do anything. After that, Photoshop appears to work fine.
What I’ve done:
Ran Adobe updater
Reset Photoshop Preferences
Validated all fonts and removed any trouble fonts
Ran the font test
Set font preview size to none
Cleared the Photoshop type cache and system cache
Disabled Symantec Endpoint
Tried running with the GPU processor on/off and in basic
Tried opening Photoshop with optional third party plug-ins turned off (still took five minutes but this time I didn’t even get the Photoshop desktop view until AFTER the five minutes)
I’m wondering since I migrated the files form my old computer (and older versions of Master Collection) did something get corrupted.

I am following this weblog
IDOCs (Multiple Types) Collection in BPM
1.
In Step 4
Below mapping is for N:1 transformation. (Here input will be having three different types of Abstract IDOCs and target will be having Abstract Target File type)
(iv) MM_ISU_UKGAS_NOM_to_NOM_ABS"
when I tried to 3 idoc as sender and My Message Type as the receiver
I am getting the following error message
String index out of range: 0
so how can I do this message Mapping
2.
and in Step 3.
I have just mapped
Source Idoc 1 with Source Idoc 1
Source Idoc 2 with Source Idoc 2
Source Idoc 3 with Source Idoc 3
is it right way ?
thanks
manian
Edited by: manian on Dec 8, 2008 10:49 AMManian,
Multiline option should be on for receiver message .
Mapping seems to be o.k.

Toggling between single and multiple selection in a table
I am working on ADF faces. I need to switch between single and multiple selection in <af:table based on a button I select.
I cannot use switcher or rendered property inside <af:table. Only the first one is rendering the second one is not rendering based on the switch
<f:facet name="selection">
<af:tableSelectMany autoSubmit="true"
rendered="#{treeBean.multipleRows}"/>
</f:facet>
<f:facet name="selection">
<af:tableSelectOne autoSubmit="true"
rendered="#{treeBean.singleRows}"/>
</f:facet>
When I use inside the switcher, it doesn't like the parent.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vijay.I have probably misunderstood what your issue is. I do not know what your version of ADF faces is. Here is some sample code working with my version. Please check if your jdev has "rowSelection" attribute. If it has, please try my sampe code

Person DFF Context Value based on 2 criteria (Business Group and Emp Type)?
Hello,
We're implementing HR module into multiple business groups.
I need to define context value for DFF "Additional Personal Details" based on 2 criteria Business Group ID and Employee Type
Any idea how to do it?
Thank you
ElieHello Elie,
I am not sure on it,However have you tried creating a context with combination of Business Group and Person Type using merging,
business_group_id || "_"|| person_type_id And structures would be something like 80_2112 Business Group id = 80 and Person Type id=2112.
It may resolve your issue if this works out.

Saurabh -
Would a 347 MB file be slow? Auto save and auto type turn off?
I am doing an art inventory and add jpegs of the art. I don't resize them they range from 750k to 3MB. I guess if it is slowing the program down i should? It currently is 267 rows by about 18 columns.
Thanks in advance.
Oh can I turn off auto save and auto type? That may help. How do I do that?Done.
Enter Scrip Editor
paste the posted script
File > Save > as Script on the Desktop
Move the script to the folder :
Macintosh HD:Library:Scripts:Folder Action Scripts:
CAUTION, you will be asked to enter your pasword.
Create a folder to do the job. I named mine Normalized. I created mine on the Desktop where it's easy to reach.
Go to :
Macintosh HD:Library:Scripts:Folder Actions:
Double click the alias : Configure Folder Actions
Below the left column, click
navigate to select your new folder
Below the right column, click
select the script image - normalize400.scpt
After that, drag and drop a picture file onto your folder.
The original will be move in the folder Originals (isn’t it original ?)
and a reduced copy 400 x height will be stored in the folder Normalized images.
And now, here is the script :
--{code}
Image - Normalize
This Folder Action handler is triggered whenever items are added to the attached folder.
The script rotates the image counter-clockwise (left).

Multiple physical inventory counts for same storage loc
We have a plant where the same SAP storage location is used for multiple physical locations (e.g. individual build stations). We would like to be able to count by physical area rather than by part number per se. So the goal would be to enter multiple counts against the same part and post differences only when all counts are done, as defined by the aggregate of the individual counts.
Is this possible? I tested it using MI31 to create phys inventory doc, then Mi04 for count 1 and MI09 for count 2, but received a message M7700 "Physical inventory for XX is already active"
Any ideas would be appreciated.How do you know in your SAP in which area the material is?
can you know this from MMBE or MB52?
if not, then I do not see any chance for MI31, except you just create one inventory doc for the entire location and make copies of the document for each area you have. after counting you have to consolidate each copy into one and post then the count in MI04. -
Definitions of record and table type
Im confused with the definition of record and table type. Below is my understanding, Please correct me if anything wrong. Thanks in advance!
Record type can only hold one record with multiple fields.
Table type is an array (multiple records) with only one field
Table type defined with %rowtype (table of records) is an array of multiple records with multiple fields.I am not sure that I understand what you are asking. I have not heard the term table type before.
However, I think a record type is more closely aligned to the %rowtype declaration. Maybe a collection is what you are looking for with the term table type.
From the Oracle 10g documentation:
%ROWTYPE
In PL/SQL, records are used to group data. A record consists of a number of related fields in which data values can be stored. The %ROWTYPE attribute provides a record type that represents a row in a table. The record can store an entire row of data selected from the table or fetched from a cursor or cursor variable.
Columns in a row and corresponding fields in a record have the same names and datatypes. In the example below, you declare a record named dept_rec. Its fields have the same names and datatypes as the columns in the dept table.
DECLARE
dept_rec dept%ROWTYPE; -- declare record variable -
What is the need of Table Types,
when there is Tables.
Even when iam using in the Abap Programs in se38..
iam not getting any difference..
Even i want to about the use of Line type
when there is the structure..
iam sap 4.7 they gave that Table type describe the structure and
functional attributes of an internal table.Way: 1:
Go to SE84 --> Select ABAP Dict --> Table Types -->
Enter the short names like ORDER wih leading and ending * on the Table Types Field. ---> F8
This will bring all related entries of Table Types(Line Types) having ORDER has a part of its Name.
Way:2:
If you know the Table Name, then go SE11 --> Putch in the Table Name --> Press Display
Now put the cursor on the Table Name field, press CNTLSHFTF3, on the WHERE USED LIST Pop up, Select only the TABLE TYPE Option and press EXECUTE.
This will bring the Table Types and Line Types.
SAP Table Types
I. Transparent tables (BKPF, VBAK, VBAP, KNA1, COEP)
Allows secondary indexes (SE11->Display Table->Indexes)
Can be buffered (SE11->Display Table->technical settings) Heavily updated tables should not be buffered.
II. Pool Tables (match codes, look up tables)
Should be accessed via primary key or
Should be buffered (SE11->Display Table->technical settings)
No secondary indexes
Select * is Ok because all columns retrieved anyway
III. Cluster Tables (BSEG,BSEC) Should be accessed via primary key - very fast retrieval otherwise very slow
No secondary indexes
Select * is Ok because all columns retrieved anyway. Performing an operation on multiple rows is more efficient than single row operations. Therefore you still want to select into an internal table. If many rows are being selected into the internal table, you might still like to retrieve specific columns to cut down on the memory required.
Statistical SQL functions (SUM, AVG, MIN, MAX, etc) not supported
Can not be buffered
IV. Buffered Tables (includes both Transparent & Pool Tables)
While buffering database tables in program memory (SELECT into internal table) is generally a good idea for performance, it is not always necessary. Some tables are already buffered in memory. These are mostly configuration tables. If a table is already buffered, then a select statement against it is very fast. To determine if a table is buffered, choose the 'technical settings' soft button from the data dictionary display of a table (SE12). Pool tables should all be buffered.
Table Types : A table type describes the structure and functional attributes of an internal table in ABAP. In ABAP programs you can reference a table type TTYP defined in the ABAP Dictionary with the command
DATA : itab TYPE TTYP.
