Driver for HP 1661C Logic analyzer

I'm looking for an instrument driver for an HP1661C logic anlyzer

Hi,
Unfortunatly we do not have a driver for that instrument at www.ni.com/idnet. We do have some similar instruments such as the 1650B 80-Channel Analyzer. These drivers could be a good place to start at when developing your own driver. We have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help at :
http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/development.htm
We also have a syndicate of third party vendors that specialize in National Instruments' products and services. Some of the vendors specialize in driver development. I would suggest contacting one of the Alliance members at:
http://www.ni.com/alliance
An instrument driver is a collection of functions that implement the commands necessary to perform the instruments operations. In short
, someone read the instrument user manual and implemented some of the functionality in a program for the end user. Instrument drivers are not necessary to use your instrument.
There are example VI's in LV on Instrument Connectivity. If you go to the Help menu >> Examples.. >> I/O, you will see a couple and Examples.. >> Fundamentals for File and String manipulation. I would suggest tweaking them to suit your application. Also the specific command that your instrument responds to can be found from it's manual.
Some useful resources for your application are
ni.com > NI Developer Zone > Development Library > Instrument Connectivity
http://search.ni.com/?col=alldocs&layout=TechResources&ql=a , to search examples and knowledge bases
Hope this helps!

  • I am looking labview driver for Tektronix TLA704 logic analyzer

I need this labview driver desperately, I am very appreciated if you have it and courtesy me a copy.
    Thanks

I did some looking around on the Tektronix web site.
Tek does not seem all that interested in supporting the
TLA704 in particular, or LabView(tm) for logic analyzers
at all. IMHO the Tek site sucks when you need to find
    information in depth.
I looked through National Instruments site too. Now on this
site it was easy to find what I was looking for. Good job.
Developing a LabVIEW instrument driver for a logic analyzer
looks to be a non-trivial task for anything more involved than
starting a capture and waiting for the data to log. Depending
on the driver it could be real slow getting a load of data from
    the logic analyzer.
It might be better to use the TLA programmatic interface
(TPI) to run the TLA704 by remote control over the Ethernet.
All the support for this comes with the analyzer software.
Though it's really painful to get it setup in Windows 98.
This way you could create a Windows program that runs
on your workstation to connect to the TLA704, set it up,
start a run, and download the data. Once the data is in
your workstation you can reformat for use by LabView.
I don't know that this would be easier than making a
LabVIEW instrument driver for a logic analyzer, but
at least all the software exists right now to control
    the TLA704 remotely.
    Charles.
I don't work for National Instruments,
or Tektronix or use LabView. But I use
    logic analyzers way too much.

  • Instrument driver for Agilent E5061A network analyzer

Is there a instrument driver for the Agilent E5061A network analyzer ? I couldn't find one neither on NIs Instrument Driver Network nor on Agilents site.
We are using Labwindows/CVI as development system.

Yes we are talking about the same driver, but i dont know why hp871x.c file was removed. However, hp871x.h and hp871x.fp are included.
Anyhow, look this comment into hp871x.cpp file:
In addition, if WIN32 is defined, _CVI_ may also be defined to indicate that the program is being compiled under LabWindows CVI.....
I guess it is not so hard to modify this source code (from hp871x.cpp to hp871x.c). Sorry for disturb you!!!

  • Hard drives for use with Logic

Anyone have any opinions on the best hard drives for both the project files, as well as extra external drives for keeping samples on? I'm pretty sure that at this point, my hard drives are creating more system locks than my processing speed.
According to the "activity monitor" my processing and RAM are definitely not working to capacity.
Is there a threshold where drive capacity gets too big and starts to affect performance, or does it really not matter?
    Thanks,
    -jeff

I've used a lot of lacies but I don't recommend them anymore and won't buy one the next time I get a drive. too many things have gone wrong with them over time, I have a hard time trusting them. I currently use a lacie 500GB d2 drive (the long one with triple interface) for my sound library and project files using FW800. so far so good, but it will be relegated to backup drive as soon as I get a g-tech drive.
I'm probably going to go for a G-RAID 500GB. I'm even considering getting an e-SATA one to use with my MBP using an e-SATA card.. I like the idea of having desktop-class data throughput. and also I've been eyeing off the liquid mix for my MBP, so having the firewire bus totally free for that would be not a bad idea at all..
I've head nothing but good reports about g-tech drives, the only bad thing is that there never seems to be any stock available, you always have to back order. maybe this is a good sign?
I'd second the opinion already posted that as far as firewire goes, g-tech are the best choice for serious work.

  • Does anybody have driver for HP8756A scalar network analyzer? thanks

or driver for similar HP equipments

    Hello --
Although we do not have a driver for the HP 8756A, you can submit a request for an instrument driver through our request database at http://zone.ni.com/idnet97.nsf/instrumentdriverrequest/. Your request may be considered for development. We try to develop instrument drivers according to popularity. Unfortunately, we cannot develop instrument drivers for all the requests we receive.
If you would like to try developing your own instrument driver, we have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help you in your development. You can find this information on our website at http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/development.htm.
    Hope this helps.

  • Driver for R3361C Advantest Spectrum Analyzer

I need labview driver for Advantest R3361C. Can you help me?

    Hello-
Unfortunately I was unable to find a driver for this instrument either at http://ni.com/idnet. This leaves you with one of a couple options. It may be possible to modify an existing driver to work with this instrument. Otherwise, http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/other.htm states a few options to obtaining a driver. Drivers are developed based on demand and popularity so the more requests, the greater the possibility that one will be developed. It would also be beneficial to notify the instrument manufacturer, they often have drivers for multiple programming languages.

  • Target drives for specific groups - Logical Disk Monitoring

I want to target different drives and thresholds for logical disk monitoring. I want to be able to place the server in a group and monitor the drives accordingly. Can this be done? How would you go about doing it?

couple of ways you can go about this:
    1. Place the servers into a group and apply the necessary overrides to the logical disk monitors
    2. If you don't want the same threshold applied to all the drives on the same server create a new group and add the  specific drives to the group and then apply the necessary overrides to the group for logical disk monitors.
    3. If you don't want the same threshold applied to all the drives you could also create a dynamic group ie all D: for servers and then apply the overrides to that group.
    example of this see: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/c2719fb1-9298-435a-8bf9-3c92d4b34f85/making-groups-of-logical-disk?forum=operationsmanagergeneral

  • Labview 6 compatible driver for HP89410A Vector Analyzer

Does anyone know where I can get a labview 6 compatible driver for an HP89410A Vectory Analyzer?
I have found labview 7 and labview 8 drivers for the hp894xx family of devices, however I cannot use them as I only have labview 6.
Barring a prewritten driver, how hard would it be to convert a labview 7 driver to make it compatible with labview 6?

The conversion is easy since there is a VI Tree VI in the driver. Since the driver was originally written in 1999 and has been up-converted to 7.0 and 8.0, saving it back down to 6.0 shouldn't be an issue.

I am looking for LabView 6i GPIB-USA-A driver for Agilent E7401A EMC ANALYZER.

    Hi,
There is a driver for this device available for downloading from the National Instruments Instrument Driver Network. Here is a link to the download page:
    Multi-Environment Certified IVI Instrument Driver
Unfortunately, however, this driver is only available for 7.0 and 7.1. Unless someone else on this message board has created one for 6i, you will need to create your own.
The other option is to upgrade to LabVIEW 7.1, which I highly recommend. There are many improvements over LabVIEW 6, including Express VIs, Event Structures, and many others. You can see the new funtionality of LabVIEW 7.1 with a free online demo version at this link
    Try LabVIEW 7.1 FREE Online
If you are interested in upgrading, you can call your National Instruments Technical Sales Representative at (888) 280-7645. Have a great day, and good luck with your driver search.

  • Instrument driver for Anritsu-MS2683A

    Hello,
I am new to LabView. Does anyone has the Instrument driver for Anritsu-MS2783A( spectrum analyzer).
I am having a hard time to get it.
    Thanks,

Ok. Seemingly, instrument driver for that model is not updated. As u can see only available driver is for MS2602A, which has been released in 1995. If there is no big difference between 2 models, i assume that u can use the driver of MS2602A. At least, it should be same for main features, but it is labwindows/CVi type. U might ask the venter which one of the NI certified drivers is suitable for ur instrument.

  • Should I combine two 1Tb drives into one logical 2Tb drive or use one 1Tb drive for system/apps and move /users to the other 1Tb drive?  (I'd like ease of b/u too.)

    Hello,
I have two 1Tb drives in my Mini, the first is full and the second one empty.  (I've been using the 2nd for Time Machine but the full source from dirve 1 soon has Time Machine complaining.)  I am contemplating whether to form one 2Tb logical drive from the two 1Tb drives or segregate their use, i.e. use the first 1Tb drive to hold the system and applications while moving the /users directory tree to the second 1Tb drive?
I'm assuming both are straight forward to do accomplish but have nagging doubts about segregating drive usage, will moving the /users directory tree to the second 1Tb drive:
    impact apps which might otherwise expect to see particulat fies and directories in specific user related locations on the system drive;
hinder backing up (by having to setup two separate Time Machine activities)?
Finally, is there a better 3rt option?
    Thanks,

    Thanks and sorry Allan,
The supplementary questions would arise should I NOT chose to combine the separate drives into a larger logical one but to keep one of the two drives for system/apps and the other for users data...  I assumed that segregating drive usagel like this might reult in issues with apps which might expect to see some user directories/files on the same drive as the system/apps.  similarly, with two physical drives, I'd be looking to managing separate Time Mchines.  (I have a few 2Tb pocket drives for backups.)
Final question - if I do combine into a single logical drive (for system, apps, /users ... the whole lot), would I have any problem getting this logical one working from a Time Machine backup?  I ask that this backup was taken from the 1Tb physical drive and now I'd be looking to put it back onto a 2Tb logicl drive.
    Thanks,

  • Hard drives for logic, what to look for?

Hi peeps, I'm looking at getting a new internal hard drive for my Mac Pro exclusively for my Logic 9 projects
obviously speed will be a factor in how many audio tracks I can use etc, but what other features are beneficial to logic? cache size etc
more importantly are there any drives out there that just don't play nice with logic, which are the ones to avoid at all costs?,
any positive recommendations of specific drives that are known to work well with DAWs?
    any advice would be great
    thanks, Robert

I've been using a 250GB Maxtor sense 2004. No problems with it. Gonna get a 1TB soon. Probably will be another Maxtor. Your milage may vary

where can i find a Labview driver for the "8990a PEAK POWER ANALYZER" it's not on NI's site.
if there is no driver maybe you can tell me the closest instrument that comes to this one from the list at,

    Hello,
It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.
