Drivers for over the air programming for labview in wireless sensor network

Hi all ,
In my earlier post, I had requested for information regarding the drivers for Wireless sensor network( WSN) in Labview. I was successfully able to configure my WSN using Labview. thanks to all for the support and help.
However I have a new querry now. I have developed a WSN testbed with more than 1 mote and more than 1 sensor. all the motes are spread out and they communicate with the base mote. the base mote is connected to the gateway and the gateway is connected to the PC where labview and moteview are installed.
Now I need to confure the motes ( ie load a software on the mote which is not connected to the PC) . Is it possible with labview ?
I mean does labview support this kind of a structure .? Say for ex i have a mote with id = 10 and that mote is one hope away from the base mote ? can i still configure that mote remotely ?

Hey anilhk,
When you say "load the software on the mote" do you mean actually reflashing the firmware on the sensor? If so, there is currently no functionality for this in the Crossbow driver. LabVIEW is certainly capable of doing this, but in order to get the functionality, you may have to program it yourself. The Crossbow driver source code is available to view and using the programming documentation from Crossbow you could make modifications to the driver for your own use.

Where to find the drivers for Labview 6.1 or 6.x

I use LabView 6.1 in our labs and due to that we have many old LV programs written on 6.x I can not use newer versions of LV.
But when I try to find the instrument drivers (Agilent 33250A arbitrary waveform generator) the only available drivers are for LV 8.x or 7.x.
So my question is where do I find the instrument old drivers for LabView 6.x?

For existing drivers (not recently developed), you can send an e-mail to [email protected] and request LV6.x drivers.

Here are some suggestions:
1) Check the manual the Keithley manual to see how to configure the RS-232.
    On some models you need set Factory defaults to USER and turn on the RS-232.
    Also there may be a setting for SCPI which you want on (probably on by default).
2) On your PC - open Device Manager. See if a COM port exists and is functional.
     You must get this working before continuing.
      You can set the COM port parameters by right clicking and selecting Properties.
     (On some PCs the onboard ports can be disabled in the BIOS)
3) If step two was OK, open MAX (Measurement and Automation eXplorer).
    On the left side, click on Devices and Hardware.
    Click on Serial and Parallel.
    Go to the COM port you found in Device Manager.
    Open a VISA Test Panel.
    Now I don't have one I can look at right now, so this is general idea:
   Configure the COM port to match the Keithley settings (should be OK if step 2 worked)
   Go to the (I think) Input Output tab (you want to send a command)
   The command string input should already have a *IDN? entered, if not, type it in.
   Click on the Query button to send the command and check the response.
   If you get an ID string back (Company name, Model, FW Version ...) then it works.
   (Disregard an error saying it did not get enough charcters back.)

i think nokia are stopping the over the air updating, due to phones dying because of low battery etc. its better to do it on pc anyways

If it does not, what other ways do I have to upgrade firmware besides using Windows software like the PC Suite?

It totally depends. The servers are getting slammed. Bunch of people trying to download at the same time.
Anecdotally, it took me about 20 minutes.
Give it time, keep trying, should eventually work.
Ways you can maybe speed it up - use iTunes, get off wifi and do a hard connection via ethernet.

The only ones I know of and have used are iFiles, Dropbox, and Aji Reader. My Yahoo Calendar also syncs with the native iphone calender app over the air.
Pardon my ignorance, but the iFile and Aji Reader apps require a wi-fi connection. I'm not sure that constitutes an OTA app or not.

Which files are you trying to run.
If the files are created in LabVIEW 7.1 version and you want to open them in LabVIEW 7.0 then you can post them in this thread.

TV Guide on-Screen not working over-the-air

Just recently revived a 42HL196 (see thread "Red light flashing on 42L196"), the first TV I've repaired that features TVGuide On Screen. I was all excited about this until reading on the web that Rovi, the owner company of TVGuide service, phased out over-the-air (antenna) transmission of TV Guide data earlier this year. This explains the fact that even with the set programmed for antenna service and connected to AC over the last couple of weeks, the TV Guide function shows "in progress" for everything but the time setting, which I had set manually. Rovi will supposedly also phase out the cable based service, leaving only the web based TV Guide, which of course, requires an internet connected TV.
So here's the question; any other 42HL196 owners out there using over-the-air (antenna) notice the loss of TV Guide, and if so, have you contacted Toshiba support about it? I submitted an email request but their reply was that I should phone their support number. Before going that route, I'm checking this forum for any owners that may already have dealt with this. It doesn't help that the user manual for this set says next to nothing about TV Guide on Screen; some other Toshiba TVs with this feature appear to have a full section in their manuals covering it, but not this one. The set has version 37 software and I don't know if this is the latest. Since this TV has a network connection, I was sorta hoping that maybe there is a software update that would make the TV retrieve TV Guide data over the internet rather than from the antenna/cable input.

IPad asserts it is syncing to Exchange over the Air!

I have and iPad and iPhone running os5.
I have an iCloud and Gmail Mail (imap) Mail accounts.
Looking at the sync options (info) in iTunes show that for my iPad,
contacts and calendars are being synced:with a Microsoft
Exchange account over the air!
I don't have Sync Address Book or Sync iCal Calendars checked.
This message does not appear with the iPhone.
At one time I did have an exchange account but that was
at least 6 months ago....
What the heck is going on, am I holding my iPad wrong?

Can multiple iphones with multiple itunes accounts be synced to one mac keeping apps seperate over the air?

We have about 20 iPhone's in our environment and syncing and updating them has become a real chore lately. Everyone has their own iTunes account and apps that they use. Is there a way that they can be synced, backed up and updated over the air (not iCloud) to the same MAC? Because we are in the financial sector we will not be able to use iCloud. Should we look into some sort of private cloud and if so; any suggestions on how to accomplish it would be greatly appreciated.

We have several macs, several ipods, a couple of iphones, several itunes store accounts. So far no problem. You might have to share passwords if you want to share content. I think iStore accounts can only be used on up to 5 computers. We have 7, so have to be a little careful about that. I don't think there is a limit on how many iDevices can be used with one account. I also don't think there is a limit on how many accounts can be used on a single computer (might be wrong about that). You have to be logged into the iStore to download content, and your computer has to be registered with the account to use the content, but once it is on, and registered, syncing to an iPod is not a problem (you do not have to login in again for each account the content was purchased from). I'm just glad I only have two kids, and one wife - things could get trickier in a big family with . . .
