Im using Condition Suppressing for columns
I have taken Year, Period and Scenario in Column
In Col A: I used User POV for Year, Actual as Scenario and User POV for Period
Condition Suppression1: Not Suppress if Member Name Year Equal to ActualYear(Sub Var for CurrYear)
Condition Suppression2: Not Suppress if Member Name Year Contains Previous Year1(Sub Var for Previous Year)
Condition Suppression3: Not Suppress if Member Name Period Equal to ActualPeriod (Sub Var for CurrPreiod)
Condition Suppression4: Not Suppress if Member Name Period Contains to PreviousPerid (Sub Var for Previous Period)
In ColB: I used Same as Col A for Year and period and Scenario will be Prompt for user.
Condition Suppression1: Suppress if Member Name Year NotEqual to ActualYear(Sub Var for CurrYear)
Condition Suppression2: Suppress if Member Name Year NotContains Previous Year1(Sub Var for Previous Year)
Condition Suppression3: Suppress if Member Name Period NotEqual to ActualPeriod (Sub Var for CurrPreiod)

  • How can I use ViewObject in Reusable Validation Rule ?

I read chapter 9.6.1 of ADF Developer Guide 4GL, "Creating View Objects at Runtime for Validation". In our system there is a validation that can use ViewObject, e.g :
SUM of outstanding AR cannot exceed the Credit Limit of the Customer.
This rule must be applied to more than one entity :
    - During Order data entries
    - During Invoice Creation
    - ..and some more..
So I think about create a Reusable Validation Rule
    (Like Steve recommends on : http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2005/07/21/recommendedValidationStrategies.html. => DateRangeRule.Java )
And within this Reusable Validation Rule, I use View Object to do SQL based validation as explained on chapter 9.6.1 above.
How can I do that ?
    Thank you for your help,
    xtanto

The ADF Toy Store Demo 10.1.2 version contains a reusable rule that uses view objects. If you google for "ADF Toy Store Demo 10.1.2" you will find it. Its a validation rule in the FwkExtensions project in that demo that validates state abbreviations for a country code.

  • How to restrict user to post in GL a/cs thru validation rule ?

    Hi Experts,
I want to restrict an user to post transactions for tds related gl accounts.is that possible through Validation rules.
Actually i created a step and under that i configured prequisite, check and message.
In "prerequisite" Company code = xxxx and user name = fffffff
in "check i configured, all restricted GL accounts
    In "message" -
GL account restricted to post by user fffffff
But still the problem is not yet solved as the user is able to post transaction in that GL accounts.
    Plz guide.

    Hi Neeraj,
    Thank you for the response.
Xtely.i have done the same.created an authorization groupp and assigned the group in GL account master data(control data tab) and even the group contains the users who are authorized to post into these GL accounts.
But sorry, the problem not yet solved.
    Anyother solution?
    waiting for the another response.

  • STOP POSTING TO PROFIT CENTER BY VALIDATION RULE

Dear all gurus, I am being asked by my user how to stop posting into a profit center. After searching the forum, i found an answer :"For blocking the posting to profit center, use validation rule with a check that (Profit Center=12345)->FALSE"
I do not know how it works. Can any gurus please share with me step by step in details?
Please help i am really need this solution as soon as possible and many thanks in advance for the help rendered.
    Best regards,
    Yew

    Hello,
You need to create the validation in GGB0
You will have pre-requisite, check and message.
Then assign the validation rule in OB28.

  • Validation rules applied to data migration templates at import

    Hi everyone!
First post here for me, so please bear with me if I missed something.
My company has just started the initial implementation of ByDesign. We come from a set of disparate and partially home-grown systems that we outgrew a few years ago.
As part of this initial phase, we are basically re-creating the data on customers, suppliers, etc. since none of our existing systems makes a good source, unfortunately. We will be using the XML templates provided by ByDesign itself to import the relevant data.
It has become clear that ByDesign applies validation rules on fields like postal codes (zip codes), states (for some countries), and other fields.
It would be really helpful if we could get access to the rules that are applied at import time, so that we can format the data correctly in advance, rather than having to play "trial and error" at import time. For example, if you import address data, the first time it finds a postal code in the Netherlands which is formatted as "1234AB", it will tell you that "there needs to a space in the 5th position, because it expects the format to be "1234 AB". At that point, you stop the import, go back to the template to fix all the Dutch postal codes, and try the import again, only to run into the next validation issue.
We work with a couple of very experienced German consultants to help us implement ByDesign, and I have put this question to them, but they are unaware of a documented set of validation rules for ByDesign. Which is why I ask the question here.
So just to be very celar on what we are looking for: the data validation/formatting rules that ByDesign enforces at the time the XML data migration templates are imported.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Best regards,
    Eelco

    Hello Eelco,
welcome to the SAP ByDesign Community Network!
The checks performed on postal codes are country specific, and represent pretty much the information that you would find in places like e.g. the "Postal Codes" page in Wikipedia.
I recommend to start with small files of 50-100 records that are assembled of a representative set of different records, in order to collect the validation rules that need reactions based on your data in an efficient way. Only once you have caught these generic data issues, I would proceed to larger files.
Personnaly I prefer to capture such generic work items on my list, then fix the small sample file immediately by editing, and do an immediate resimulation of the entire file, so that I can drill deeper and collect more generic issues of my data sample. Only after a while when I have harvested all learnings that were in my sample file, I would then apply the collected learnings to my actual data and create a new file - still not too large, in order to use my time efficiently.
    Best regards

  • Bringing back an old password validation rule

    Good afternoon
On our old 4.6C system, there was a password validation rule that stated the first three characters of the password cannot occur in the same order in the user ID. This rule was removed when we upgraded to ECC 6.0
While the users hated that rule, that rule was a SOX requirement at our company and I would like to have it back. Before I resort to programming user exits, is there a way to reactivate or at least simulate that rule? I cannot use USR40 because not only does it effect all users on the system, it only works on the second logon and not at validation time.
If programming user exits like EXIT_SAPLSUSF_001 is my only option, where can I get the password at logon time? From my understanding, SAP does not store this in a system value or even a global variable or table to prevent the recording of passwords. While this is a valid security reason, it would solve the resurrection of this password role through programming.
    Please advise.
    Kind Regards
    Moggie

    Hi Moggie,
    > Pending the result of the contract programmer's research, placing a 3 character prefix of each new user ID in table USR40 is looking like the best option, though I do hate to place that kind of check for all user IDS when only one ID really needs that validation rule.
A problem with that will soon arise when you have for example 10000 user ID's and want the users to have the opportunity to use strong pass-phrases (not just pass-words). Additionally, the passwords are now case-sensitive but the user ID is not. A pass-phrase for users such as "The_D0g_&_Cat_r_FAT" would go undetected even if you have any "THERON's" in the system, but why should it not be allowed? It's a good one!
Users will soon notice that only passwords which are very cryptic can be used, and they will start writing them down on Post-It's.
While that is going on... the "real sinners" who dish out weak or the same initial / reset passwords (like "INIT1234") or administrate the users for whom passwords don't change (like "RFC4PROD") will not have any further "idiot-proof" controls as it is only a warning, which is intentional.
    > If the passwords are cycled regularly, adhere to profile values in the instance that encourage strict password rules, and are kept private and secure, it is not a compliance issue to the auditors.
    There you have it.
Tell them that. Even if they do use the first 3 bname characters as the first 3 CAPS_ON password characters, they won't be able to do it for long anyway if the password rules are appropriate...
Incase you are not aware of it, please also take a look at (and search here and SAP notes for) infos about instance parameter login/password_compliance_to_current_policy (e.g. SAP Note 862989). With appropriate minimum password rules (not overkilled - because the system must still be able to generate compliant wizard-passwords!), you will catch the bigger risks than any one 'BSM?????'s in there somewhere....
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Validation Rule & Report

    Hi,
In our Application, FDM is loading data into HFM database even if the validation rule fails.
As per my understanding, FDM should not load data into HFM, if any one of the validation rule doesnot succeed.
Is some settings need to be enabled to perform this check ?
    Can anyone guide me.
    Thanks,
    Siva

    Hello,
The validation report is part of the 'Check' fish (4th fish). The data is already done loaded at the Export/Load fish (3rd fish)
The purpose of the Check fish (and the report it produces: Validation Report) is to verify the accuracy of the data that was loaded.
    Thank you.

  • Validation rules problem

    Hi,
I am trying to create some validation rules, the rules works just fine for me. I am struggling with the "Other Source Dimensions Members" column in the Validation rules definition. As I understand this column is that I can filter out specific data that should be used in this validation. In my case I want to filter out specific entities.
To select those entities I would like to either use a property from my entity dimension or where entity is not equal to a specified value...
    What I have tried:
    ENTITY.DIMLIST_PPC<>""
    ENTITY.DIMLIST_PPC="X"
    [ENTITY].properties("DIMLIST_PPC")="X"
I can't get any of above to work the only thing I can get to work is to use for example:
    ENTITY=ABC123
it would also work for me to use
ENTITY<>XYZ123 but I can't get that to work either.
Would really appreciate any input/ideas on this.
    I'm on BPC 10 MS SP15.
    Brgds
    Mattias

    Hi Mattias,
sorry to confirm you that "Other Source Dimensions Members" field does not support properties also in 7.5 version.
So if you are not able to filter these entities using another dimension (e.g. ACCTDetail) (all dims condition separate by a comma) I think you have to use some script.
    Regards

  • Validation Rules Wildcards

Good Evening (a really busy one for me :p )
is it possible to use wildcards on validation rules?
    Thanks
    Francesco

    Another question:
why I'm unable to retrieve calculated data on validation rule while I haven't any problem with the other 2 data retrieving modes? I'm sure the required fileds are correctly set up...

  • Custom validation rules

Using adf/bc with jdev 10.1.3.3. I've created a custom validation rule class according to the instructions in the adf guide. In that class, I've defined just one property, along with its getters/setters. I've registered my rule in the business component project and associated the rule to an entity attribute via the entity object editor. My problem is that I don't see any way for me to set the property/value of the property that's defined in the validation rule class. For example, in the SRDemo app, in the entity editor for ServiceRequest, if you highlight Validation in the left pane then select the AttributeMustExistInViewRowRule for the Status attribute and click the Edit button, you can set various property values that have been defined in the validation rule class. These values appear to then be updated to that entity's xml file. When I'm in my entity object editor and i've assigned a validation rule to an attribute, I can type in the error message text in the Edit Validation Rule dialog, but it says there are no properties to edit! I guess I haven't wired something together quite right? Note, I have not created the customizer and bean info classes for the design time aspect of this stuff. I assume that you do not absolutely need these classes to create and work with a customr validation rule? Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

ok, i figured out the problem. The property/value fields in the Edit Validation Rule dialog will not appear until you've actually compiled the custom validation rule class. I had tried to create the validation rule class, register it with the bc project, and assign it to an entity attribute all without first compiling the class. I stumbled upon this 'fix' in jdev's help, which leads me to another question. For the help topic entitled Creating Custom Declarative Validation Rules for Oracle ADF Business Components, the instructions have you create a class that implements JbiValidator and provide implementation for the method vetoableChange, from which you typically call validateValue. The adf guide's example has the custom validation rule class that extends AbstractValidator and implements JboValidatorInterface. In this example, you provide implementation for the validate method. What's the difference between these two approaches and when should I use one over the other? Thanks.

  • Snapping to ruler guides

Does anybody know why I can't seem to snap an edge of an object to a ruler guide.
I figure its one of the three.
    1)A bug in CS3
2)User error - an option is turned off someplace.
    3)Adobe never thought it.
I am really hoping its #2. But from the help file it looks like #3. I have no problem snapping with a point. But there are times that a guide is easier than the align tools. Though I am getting more use to them all the time.
    Silk

    > I suspect it's because finding the extreme edges of a complex shape, especially a masked shape, is complex, so it's too difficult to program
Difficult to program? It's difficult to program a bounding box, and have that bounding box snap to guides? Other programs don't seem to find that difficult.
    > the fact that Illustrator's guides respond to the mouse...is much more powerful and versatile.
More "powerful and verstatle" than what? I certainly do not find Illustrator's snaps to be "more powerful and versatile" than FreeHand, CorelDraw, or Canvas. In fact, I often find Illustrator's snap behaviors downright unreliable unless you are working at a high zoom level.

    Not able to prompt errors.
    Hi,
Your error message are not displaying because u does not made Message-Resoucrce property file (Resource Bundle) when you make it .
    give it entry in
    struts-config.xml
    <message-resources parameter="ApplicationResources" />
    and
define key and corresponding error message to key in this ApplicationResources i.e
    #Error Resources
    label.search.ssNum=Plz Enter correct ssNum
