  • Dropbox Document won't Close

    Running Dropbox v 2.1.1 on my original iPad (iOS 5.1.1)
    Have a series of password protected PDFs in my dropbox - scans of passport, driver's license etc
    When I open one, no problem until I try to close the document - unable to do so.
    It remains open (& unprotected) on my iPad even if I quit DropBox (Hit the Home Button).
    And on reopenong Dropbox, it is still open.
    Unable to open any bars beneath the document to access a close function.
    On my Iphone, the document closes when you tap on the Left-Arrow Dropbox icon at the top of the screen.
    There is no such icon on the iPad version.
    Appreciate any tips!
    ...John
    PS  When I open DropBox on my iPhone or Mac Pro, the document is not open - remains protected in the folder.

    Did you ever get an answer to this question ? I know its been over a year since posted. But I too have the same question. The only way to close is to sign off the program on the iPad. And maybe tat is what they intended. Thanks

  • HT4942 pages document won't open on ipad or icloud

    I have created a document in pages on my ipad.
    All of a sudden after switching to another document and then trying to switch back, on my ipad which wasn't connected to the internet at the time, I could no longer open my document in Pages.
    I message popped up saying document won't open.  I tried making a copy of it and the copy had the same error message when I tried to open it. I tried emailling and exporting it in the ipad Pages app but it froze up when trying to do it and didn't work.
    I logged onto icloud and I see the document there but it won't open. I get a message that says "Document Can't be downloaded, please try again"
    Is there any way to recover this document?  It is so frustrating because I can see what I wrote is still there in the thumbnail - but I just can't get the actual document.

    It isn't complicated if you don't use it. Like Apple.

  • Apps won't close on iPad 2 running iOS 8

    Since updating my iPad 2 to iOS 8, apps won't close. The iPad becomes unresponsive to anything but the app I'm using. Home button doesn't work for tapping or double tapping. I can only restart the iPad. I've performed a full restore, but that made no difference. Is there anything I've missed?

    I assume that you did restore as new and did not use a backup. If you haven't done that, give it a try. But do backuo first in case it does not do any good so that you can restore the backup.
    I don't think this will do anything but it can't hurt to try it, reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. No data is lost but all device settings have to be entered again.

  • My ITunes won't sync my ipad and closes down in the middle. I have Windows 7 Ultimate. How do I fix this problem?

    My itunes won't sync my ipad and closes down in the middle of the attempted syn. I have windows 7 ultimate. Any ideas about what to do?

    If the steps above do not resolve the issue, attempt to sync with iTunes while logged in as a new admin user. Follow these steps to create a new administrator user within Windows:
    From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
    Open User Accounts.
    Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process.
    Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu.
    Log in to the newly created user account.
    If the error does occur in the new user account, the issue may be caused by content downloaded or created on the device, such as podcasts and voice memos. Removing content from the device may address the issue.
    If the error does occur in the new user account, the issue may be caused by content downloaded or created on the device, such as podcasts and voice memos. Removing content from the device may address the issue.
    If these steps do not work at all, I would suggest calling AppleCare at 1-800-275-2273 (assuming your iPad is stilll within support or has an AppleCare Protection Plan) and let them know you have already tried all troubleshooting steps per TS2830.

  • Why won't dropbox documents print via bluetooth to a pima ip100

    Why won't dropbox documents print via bluetooth to a pixma ip100 from a Mac Pro.  The ip100 prints gibberish continuously until it is unplugged.  There is no other way to stop the printing.

    Pages can save documents to PDF format, but does not open them natively. Use iBooks or one of the many free apps available for that purpose on the App Store.

  • Dropbox force to close on ipad

    Dropbox app on some of the iPad Air has been not functioning recently and I needed to re-install the app to make it working again. As soon as I tapped on the dropbox icon, the app would pop up with a blank page and then shut itself off in one 3rd of a second. After a hard boot (held the Home and Turn off button together) and clearing all caches and cookies, the app still would not work. I wonder if this has to do with the iOS. In fact, the same situation happened on iOS 8.0.2 and 7.1.2. Also I made sure that's the latest version of dropbox app is installed on my iPad Air (wi-fi+cellular type). Has anyone heard of this case? And how should I deal with it?

    I was only able to power off with this method, but ipad still kept the apps open.  I want to force a single app to close so that I do not have to use so many 5 finger swipes to get to the apps I want. Is there another way to accomplish this?

  • Dialogue box says ipad hasn't been backed up but box won't close and it won't let me access settings to turn off cellular so I can use wifi to back up.  How do I close the box?

    Dialog box won't close and let me unlock to access settings.  How do I unfreeze it>

    Try a reset: Press & hold (continue to hold) both the Home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears. Release the buttons and the device should boot normally.

  • Pages won't open on ipad 1

    I am trying to access an excel file in my dropbox, but pages won't open on IPad 1. Any ideas? I shut it down, then turned back on. No difference.

    Double tap Home button and delete Pages from multitask-bar.
    Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
    Note: You will not lose any data.
    Try again with Pages.
    If no joy, delete Pages and redownload again.

  • How do I retrieve documents from iCloud on my iPad?

    I have just gotten an iPad and want to use it to retrieve documents already created on my MacBook Pro and stored in iCloud. I have set up the iCloud account on my iPad and turned on Documents & Data in Settings. How do I login to iCloud from my iPad and retrieve a stored document?

    You would need to use an app to do so, such as one of the ones mentioned here: http://meetingpool.net/blog/2013/06/17/six-apps-to-view-and-edit-office-document s-on-iphone-and-ipad/, but I'm not sure which, if any, can access documents stored in iCloud.
    I personally just use a free Dropbox account to access Office documents.  You can upload them to your Dropbox account, then view them from within the free Dropbox app on your iPad.

  • Suitcase won't close.

    Hey! Ever since I installed the latest update to osx, my imac won't close down because Suitcase 10.2 refuses to shut down. A window comes up telling me it won't respond and asks me to manually close it. Is there a way around this?

    Hi, arty.
    Not sure if this applies, but it was the only thing close I could find for you in the Extensis knowledge base: "Suitcase stops responding on Mac OS 10.4 Tiger."
    Otherwise I suggest you either:
    • Try the Extensis Forums.
    • Contact Extensis Product Support.
    Questions about third-party applications are often best addressed by first using the vendor's support options, i.e. searching their support documents on their Web site or by contacting the vendor directly.
    Good luck!

  • X won't close applications

    Hi All -
    Got a brand new MacBook Pro here. I have been playing with the new stuff and navigating my way around. However, found a quirk that I am not happy about. When I am working with a few windows up, the red X will not close the window. I have an iMac and a PowerBook - and I have never had this problem on either of those computers. Only the new one.
    I will click on the red X (with a wireless mouse) - I can click, click, click all I want. It won't close. I have used the mouse pad as well. Same issue.
    I just checked and I'm all up to date. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know why this is happening?

    I'm having exactly the same problem. It doesn't happen often but when it does I find that if you click on the top of the window in question and drag it then click the X it closes.
    Although the effect of the problem is very minor, especially if you can close the window after dragging it a little like I can, but it's a problem that shouldn't be there.
    And yes I'm on a 6 month old Macbook Pro unibody. I'm using the mid-2009 15" version with the single bottom panel and user non-removeable battery.
    I'm also suffering from the intermittent touchpad mouse click problem many people have experienced.
    As the problem with the red X button is so infrequent it's difficult to test using another user account as has been suggested. As sometimes I can use the laptop for a session and not experience the problem. Other times it can occur many times. Setting up a new account to test it is only viable if you were to us that new account for all your computing needs instead of your actual account.
    I'm wondering if this problem is related to software currently installed on the machine and running in the statusbar. I recently did a full format to try and fix this and some other problems and I didn't see the problem occur again until I copied my documents and application settings across. I currently have the following software open all the time in my statusbar, so if anyone else has this software installed and have the same problem we could be onto something.
    Simplyfy Media Server
    Caffeine
    Logmein
    Evernote
    Time Machine
    Bluetooth (enabed)
    Connected to Wifi
    I'd be very interested to see if any fellow suffers are running the same software as me. To repeat... I did not notice the problem after a full format and install until I started to load software and settings back in. I did not reinstate previous OS settings, only library settings for 3rd party software.
    I too am up to date and this problem only occurred in the past few months.

  • InDesign won't close files

    Hallo everybody,
    I'm new her at InDesign-Scripting-Forum, but I have a great problem, and hope there is somebody out who can help me:
    My problem is that InDesign won't close files which have been opened.
    Just a little Javascript (I have reduced it to the minimum):
    var myFile="1.indd";
    // Open the file
    var myDoc=app.open(File(myFile));
    // Close the file
    myDoc.close(SaveOptions.no);
    if(app.documents.length > 0)
            alert("Still " + app.documents.length + " files opened");
    If this script starts from InDesign Javascript Panel, there are no problems or errors.
    InDesign will open the file (1.indd), and closes the file, and no alert will appear.
    But.... if the Javascript ist copied to the InDesign "startup script" folder, so that InDesign should
    run this script on InDesign Startup,the alert will appear.
    If you are running the script in a loop, just like working with 10 files of a current directory,
    InDesign will show alert of 10 opened files at the end.
    So.. at the end of the script, I want to move the (opened and closed) file to another directory.
    But when InDesign "says" the file is opened, I cannot move or rename the file.
    (It is only possible when running the script manually by the Javascript Panel).
    Can anybody help me, so that I can close the file, or that InDesign will close the file
    when running as a "startup-script"?
    Thanks very much.
    Martin.

    I have 8 MB of RAM. I restarted all the software, but not my computer.
    It is in the left column that I am having the problem.
    There was a previous discussion thread where a user on Mountain Lion was having the same issue, but it wasn't resolved in that discussion thread either.
