Dropped datafile can't be removed from database

I have a new dba on my team that mistakenly added a datafile to a tablespace in the wrong directory. When attempting to remove it he offlined it and then tried to drop it. It would not drop. He deleted the file from the file system. I am in archivelog mode and tried to recover datafile but no success.
Oracle 10.2.0.4 on solaris 10 Any ideas?

To re-create a datafile for recovery:
Create a new, empty datafile to replace a damaged datafile that has no corresponding backup. For example, assume that the datafile ?/oradata/trgt/users01.dbf has been damaged, and no backup is available. The following statement re-creates the original datafile (same size) on disk2:
ALTER DATABASE CREATE DATAFILE '?/oradata/trgt/users01.dbf' AS
*'/disk2/users01.dbf';*
This statement creates an empty file that is the same size as the lost file. The database looks at information in the control file and the data dictionary to obtain size information. The old datafile is renamed as the new datafile.
Perform media recovery on the empty datafile. For example, enter:
RECOVER DATAFILE '/disk2/users01.dbf'
All archived logs written after the original datafile was created must be applied to the new, empty version of the lost datafile during recovery.
If this does not work let us know your errors and problems.

I suspect that if you cannot locate the instructions on the proper way to remove EM that you can drop the owning repositiry user sysman from the database then cleanup any database parameters related to EM.
I would think the place to start would be the EM (Grid Control) installation manual for your version of Oracle and platform.

Can not get data from database

hi all,
    there is a problem , when i write like below :
SELECT * FROM bsis INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_temp
          WHERE bukrs = p_bukrs
            AND hkont = p_hkont.
p_bukrs , p_hkont are all on the selection screen , and p_bukrs = 1200 another is eq blank. i can not find any data , but with the same condition i can find some data in database , when i debeg i found that p_hkont is initial.
    when i write like this :
SELECT * FROM bsis INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_temp
          WHERE bukrs = p_bukrs .
this time i can find the data like the database.
    so , does someone know where the problem is , why i can not get data ?

if u r using bukrs and hkont as parameters in selection screen then
SELECT * FROM bsis INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_temp
WHERE bukrs = p_bukrs
AND hkont = p_hkont.
this will work.
if u r using then as select-option then the above does n't work.
bcoz select-options work as internal table bcoz of that u have use the query like this
SELECT * FROM bsis INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_temp
WHERE bukrs IN p_bukrs
AND hkont IN p_hkont.

[nQSError: 46115] - Admin Tools: can't import table from database .

Need your help, i am using Bi Administration Tool, and i try to import tables from database,but encounter issue:
(1)."File->import->from database...",select connection type as OCI 10g/11g, type TNS Name,User Name and Password,then click "OK".
(2).select table "BI_DATA",and then click button "import",it show prompt:"Failed to perform requested action".
(3).i try to click the symbol "+" on the left of table "BI_DATA", it show below prompt:
[nQSError: 46115] No Unicode translation is available for some of the input characters for MultiByteWideChar().
is there anyone can help me? thanks.

Datafile need to be removed from 11g1 db

Hi all,
I'm in a situation to remove the wrongly added datafile from the database as the datafile is no longer present at OS/level.
Database mode: archive log enabled.
can I remove the datafile using the below commands?
Difference between the below commands.
ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE <datafile name> OFFLINE DROP
ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE <datafile name> OFFLINE

Find out,the datafile belongs to which tablespace. Then,
If a tablespace contains multiple datafiles, and you just want to drop one or some of the datafiles and keep
the remaining datafiles together with the objects and contents, the objects or data must be exported for the
affected table space. Once exported, the tablespace can be dropped with the command
DROP TABLESPACE <tablespace name> INCLUDING CONTENTS AND DATAFILES;
If one or more datafiles is missing after a recovery process or accidental deletion, you can use
ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE <datafile name> OFFLINE DROP
command to make the datafile offline so that database can starts up after which the troubled tablespace can be dropped

If you already have notifications set on some threads you will still get emails from them. Click on your username at the top, then under 'Actions' in the right sidebar, select "'Manage email notifications.' This will show the threads you've set up notifications on in the past. Select those you want to stop and click the 'Remove Selected Notifications' button at bottom.

IPod can't be removed from computer and unable to shut down windows

Nowadays, my ipod hangs rather frequently, but i thought it's just because it's rather filled up.
When i tried to connect my ipod to the computer and opening itunes, nothing works. everything just hangs. i tried to open ipod as a hard disk from my computer but it couldn't open. So i tried to shut down the computer and it couldnt be shut down. i had to restart it. When i tried to remove hardware safely, there was no response.
after restarting the com and replugging the ipod, the same problems abound. now, i can't even see ipod in my computer as a hard disk.
what is wrong? My ipod is abt a yr and a half old and nothing of this sort has happened before.

Mysterious, unauthorized DirecTV Pending Orders that no one can seem to remove from our account

Such a long story - I'm hoping that posting here will get this solved since 3+ calls to Verizon customer service as well as a call to DirecTV can't seem to fix the problem.
Background: A pending order is showing on our account. Verizon customer service has traced it to two DirecTV orders, placed in September that WERE NOT AUTHORIZED by us. We have no idea where they came from or how they got there. These pending orders have caused us to continue to be billed for premium services we canceled (Sports Pass) and are prohibiting us from enrolling in Verizon Connections.
Current situation: I was given two master order numbers (by Verizon) and told they can't do anything, I needed to contact DirecTV. Upon calling DirecTV and being transferred to no less than 4 departments, I was repeatedly told "there's no order number tied or your name" (of course, I didn't place one) or that the order numbers Verizon provided were invalid.
I've now been billed for Sports Pass for four extra months. I want these pending orders CANCELLED and can't seem to get anyone to do it. I didn't even place them in the first place so I'm really concerned about how they were attached to my account.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Can 'SUBSCRIBE' be removed from photo template pages in iWeb??

I am using photo template pages on my website (designed in iWeb 08). My site is an artist portfolio site so the photo template pages work well for dealing with all the art images I am posting.
One problem: there is a subscribe button on my pages which lets people subscribe to my iPhoto library. I cannot figure out how to remove it.
Any ideas on this?

Click on the Inspector at the bottom of your photo page, then click on the Photos Inspector (just to the left of RSS).
Next click on the Photos button, then uncheck "Allow visitors to subscribe".
The Subscribe button will disappear from your page.

Transfer Orders visible in LRF1 -Why , can they be removed from there

Some of them are in Comfirmed State
Can we remove them in such a way that they won't be visible in any Queue

Incidentally all the TO's which are visible are Unconfrimed , I could have suggested User to confrim by LT12 but issue is among all 10 items in TO , 9 items are deleted by LT15 , One item Remains to be Processed hence it is visible in the Queue
Also , overall Indicator is NOt selected in TO Item level

I'm going to say "Nothing".
OS X standard install in total is around 10GB. In addition to that, all the Logic samples and loops, which I guess you want to keep, are going to be a good few gigs.
After that, it's your documents.

Malicious File Email.Phishing.DblDom-86 Can't Be Removed from Backup

Hi. My anti-virus has detected in the Mail app the malicious file called Email.Phishing.DblDom-86. It may or may not be harmful but it's better to delete it to have peace of mind. OS X though because it's on my Time Machine backup it says, even if it's already in Safe Mode. I'm using ClamXAV. Any solutions? Thank you in advance.

Quit from the Mail menu of the Mail application first.

If you can locate the file and zap it with the delete file function of Cocktail, that would solve the problem.
If you can't locate the file, locate it first with Find Any File before trying to zap it with Cocktail.

Which archivelog files can be safely removed from OS

Hi,
I didn't used "delete input" option when backup the archivelog files. So all archivelog files still remain on the file system. How can I identily which archivelog files I can delete using the command
"RMAN>change archivelog '/u04/arch/arch_xxx.arc' delete; "
where xxx is the seq I need to make sure it's safe to be removed.
I need to make sure "restore archivelog all validate" command will still report successful afterward. The total size of archivelog files is over 20GB and I'm running out of space now. Thanks.

The only way to delete your archlog is do not do a cross check archivelog all. Bec that will invalidate your archlogs. We have a rentetion of 28 days and we dlete archlogs after everybackup using delete input. While doing cross check we use "cross check completed before 'xxx'" and then it still keeps active in repo.
