DS and RFC 3062 Password Modify extension

Hi,
I tried to use Samba ( 3.0.10 ) and Sun DS ( 5.1 and 5.2 ) to
work together, but Sumba needs Password Modify extension
for some password change purposed induced by win clients.
Here is problem, because none of Sun DS's doesnt support this
extension. Is possible to patch or update DS's to enable this
extension based on RFC 3062 ?

Idealx smb ldap tools works well, but if I use "smbpasswd"
it tells me that "password change extension isnt supported by
server". I have look into samba's source code and there is
strict requirement of password change extension
( oid = 1.3.6.1.4.1.4203.1.11.1 ). Smbpasswd loops over extensions
supported by server and if doesn't find above extension it
exited prematurely.

Assuming you know the current (mistaken) passcode, go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock.  The iPod  will ask you to enter the current passcode.  When you do, you will see a button to enter new passcode.

  • Logical system and rfc destination

    hello all,
what is the difference between logical system and RFC destination?
thanks for ur help in advance.
    regards,
    vikas

    Hi,
In any ALE scenario u need one sender and one receiver system.
Logical systems are just logical representation of these systems but in case of RFC destination u specify technical parameters for those systems like IP address and username and password to connect to that system.
Thus when u create port i.e.we21 u specify actual RFC destination for the system to which u want to connect and when u create partner profile for that logical system u specify this port so when u want to send data to this logical system i.e receiver system port will be used which in turn has RFC destination which will be used to connect to that system.
In simple terms logical systems are logical representation of any system and RFC destinations are physical/techinical systems.

  • I have a new email address but when I try to open apple ID my iPad automatically opens the old email and says my password is incorrect. I can't get around it.

I have a new email address but when I am asked to sign in with my Apple ID for Apple store my iPad automatically shows my old email and rejects my password. How do I get around this?

I kind of agree with Philly on this one.  If you get a new email address, there is no need to establish an entirely new account to use that address.  You just need to modify your account to show the new email address.  This way all your purchase history and rights to purchased apps stays in place.  Creating a new iTunes/Apple account each time your email address changes really doesn't make sense in my opinion.   I only point this out for future searchers who end up on this thread.

    hi
For rfc sender adapter we hv to do some settings .Please chk whether this settings are well configured or not.
    a) RFC destination
    b) RFC channel in the XI directory
This weblog is a response to a few question about the basic configuration of the RFC sender adapter
that were posted on the XI forum (and also on my e-mail)
So here we go, basically we have to configure 2 things:
    a) RFC destination
    b) RFC channel in the XI directory
    RFC destination:
    1. To create the RFC go to TCODE: SM59
    2. Create new destination of type T (TCP/IP)
    3. Make sure you select Registered Server Program option before writing your program ID
    4. Write you program ID (remember it's case-sensitive)
    5. In the gateway host and gateway service write the values of your "Application system" - business system (not the XI server)
    7. No configuration in the J2EE administrator nessecary
Now we can proceed to RFC channel configuration:
    1. Enter your Application Server
    2. Your Application Server Service
    3. Enter your Program ID from the RFC destination
    And we're done:)
Now you can test the RFC destination in SM59 to see if it works.
    Please chk this following link.

  • IDOC Adapter and RFC Adapter

    Hi experts,
Q1. What are the configurations steps (Transaction codes) required at R/3 and XI while sending the IDOC to XI? Please provide the list of TCodes required at both sides. if any weblog is exists which provides detail explanation on IDOC scenarios plz provide the path.
Q2. While sending the IDOC we need to generate partner profile and port. How many types of port exist and wht each port represents?
Q3. In RFC Sender Adapter we need to create RFC port in R/3 and there we specify Connection type as ‘T’ which TCP/IP……why we use connection type T instead of 3 (which represents connection type as R/3). While communicating with SAP systems we need to specify the connection type as 3.
Q4. How many types of partner profiles exist and wht each type represents?
Q5. How to transport design, configuration objects and SLD objects from Development system to Quality system. Please provide me the steps to transport the objects?
Q6. Once the objects are transported a .tpz file is created wht is the purpose of the file and where it will generated? Suppose if I’ve transported the namespace from Dev to Quality system then at quality side to which SWC this transported namespace is assigned. Do we need to create any SWC at quality system side?
    Cheers
    Faisal

    Hi Abdul,
for the first one u need to create a logical system and assign that logical system and need to create a port and partner profile and distribute the system,, for that follow this blog
    Steps
    SAP XI
    1) RFC Destination (SM59)
    a) Choose create.
    b) Specify the name of the RFC destination
    c) Select connection type as 3 and save
    d) In the technical settings tab enter the details SAP SID/URL and system number#.
    e) Enter the Gateway host as same details above SID/URL.
    f) Gateway service is 3300+system number#.
    g) In the Logon /Security tab, enter the client user & Password details of Destination system.
    h) Test the connection and remote logon.
    2) Create Port (IDX1)
    a) Select create new button
    b) Enter the port name as SAP+SID (The starting char should be SAP)
    c) Enter the destination client.
    d) Enter the RFC Destination created in SAP R/3 towards other system.
    e) Save
    3) Load Meta Data for IDOC (IDX2)
    a) Create new
    b) IDOC Message Type
    c) Enter port created in IDX1.
    SAP R/3
    1) RFC Destination (SM59)
    a) Choose create.
    b) Specify the name of the RFC destination
    c) Select connection type as 3 and save
    d) In the technical settings tab enter the details SAP SID/URL and system number#.
    e) Enter the Gateway host as same details above SID/URL.
    f) Gateway service is 3300+system number#.
    g) In the Logon /Security tab, enter the client user & Password details of Destination system.
    h) Test the connection and remote logon.
    2) Create Port (We21)
    a) First Select Transactional RFC and then click create button
    b) Enter the destination port name as SAP+SID (The starting char should be SAP)
    c) Enter the destination client.
    d) Enter the RFC Destination created in SAP R/3 towards other system.
    e) Save
    3) Create Partner Profile (WE20)
    a) Create New
    b) Create the Partner no. name as same the logical system name of the destination system.
    c) Select Partner type LS
    d) Enter details for Type: US/USER, Agent, and Lang.
    e) Click on the + button to select the message type.
    f) Select Partner no. and LS which ever create above.
    g) Select Message type
    h) Select Process code related to the Message type.
    I) save.
In SLD – System Landscape Directory
TS for R/3 (Logical system):-Assign the client name created in R/3 as Logical system Name.
Ts for Third Party (Logical system):-
BS for SAP R/3 (Logical system):- Assign the client name created in R/3 as Logical system Name.
BS for Third Party (Logical system):-Enter the XI logical system name.
    In Transaction SALE
Define and Assign the logical system name.
2.& 3 ) for the 2nd question the answer was in above u need to create the partner profile and port.
port can be created as HTTP Port and RFC port which are used to communicate with the R/3 server and depends on the requirement we need to choose the port..
    4. partner profile creation depends on ur scenario, it is a custmized one it purely depends on the customer requirement, there is no specific partner profiles exists in R/3.
    5. For transportation u may choose File level transport or CMS, if u trnasfer through File level it is very easy to maintain and reimport in the production server,, just while exporting from the development server a .TPZ file was created and import this .TPZ file in the production server this gives the entire objects of IR and ID, but when u deal with SLD instead of .tpz there u will be creating .zip file, so u neeed to reimport the file in the production server..
    6. The .TPZ file will be created when u export the objects either in IR and ID..., so as i explained in the above point it will go top the export directory of development server and import in production server with IMPORT directory..

    Kishore

  • RFC Status: Password logon no longer possible - too many failed

    Hi,
We use the workflow for purchase requsition approval and it work fine until recently where the workflow event trace (SWEL) reported the following message
RFC Status: Password logon no longer possible - too many failed.  I also use t-code SM59 to reset the passowrd for Admin for the RFC destination WORKFLOW_LOCAL_100.
It still have the error RFC Status: Password logon no longer possible - too many failed.
    How to resolve this ?
    Best rgds,

    Hello Eric,
First find out whether WF_BATCH is a system user or not?
You can verify in SU01 and you can unlock the user on the initial screen.
Password can be provided in SWF_RFC_DEST ( Setting up RFC Destination) and synchronize the system for further use.
    Thanks,
    Sudhir.

  • BDC and RFC

dear all, may I know what is the different between BDC and RFC?

    Hi,
    <b>
    BDC:</b>
Batch Data Communication (BDC) is the process of transferring data from one SAP System to another SAP system or from a non-SAP system to SAP System.
    Features :
    BDC is an automatic procedure.
This method is used to transfer large amount of data that is available in electronic medium.
BDC can be used primarily when installing the SAP system and when transferring data from a legacy system (external system).
BDC uses normal transaction codes to transfer data.
    Types of BDC :
    CLASSICAL BATCH INPUT (Session Method)
    CALL TRANSACTION
    BATCH INPUT METHOD:
This method is also called as ‘CLASSICAL METHOD’.
    Features:
    Asynchronous processing.
    Synchronous Processing in database update.
Transfer data for more than one transaction.
Batch input processing log will be generated.
During processing, no transaction is started until the previous transaction has been written to the database.
    CALL TRANSACTION METHOD :
This is another method to transfer data from the legacy system.
    Features:
Synchronous processing. The system performs a database commit immediately before and after the CALL TRANSACTION USING statement.
Updating the database can be either synchronous or asynchronous. The program specifies the update type.
Transfer data for a single transaction.
Transfers data for a sequence of dialog screens.
No batch input processing log is generated.

    <b>
    RFC</b>
    Remote Function Call:
RFCs are requests that an SAP component sends to invoke functions on remote systems, or calls that remote systems initiate to invoke functions on an SAP component.A process that can accept RFCs from SAP components. This allows SAP components to access functions in external systems. In SAP BC terminology, the process is called a Listener. Listeners are one or more threads on SAP Business Connector that wait for incoming requests from SAP components. Listeners are named and register with an SAP gateway to indicate that they are ready to accept requests. Listeners can accept RFC or tRFC requests.
Transactional RFC (tRFC) and Queued RFC (qRFC). tRFC is used mainly to transfer ALE Intermediate Documents (IDocs).
    Transactional RFC:
If an error occurs during a synchronous remote function call, the system cannot tell at what point the error occurred (most crucially, whether the function module was actually processed in R/3 before the operation failed). Restarting a failed call is therefore a dangerous thing to do, since you risk duplicating a completed function call.
To alleviate this problem, you can use transactional RFC, which guarantees that each function call you issue will only be executed once, even if you submit it repeatedly to the R/3 System. The system implements this safeguard by assigning a unique transaction ID (TID) to each transaction that you submit. When you attempt to process the transaction, the system checks whether that TID has already been processed. If it has, the transaction is ignored.
    Queued RFC:
When you use transactional RFC, you cannot guarantee the order in which the function calls will be processed in the system (it is quite possible that one call might overtake another). For cases where you need to specify a particular processing order, you can use queued RFC, which is an extension of transactional RFC. In qRFC, you place each function call in a logical queue. A function call cannot be executed until all of its predecessors in the queue have been processed. Queued RFC calls are processed asynchronously.
RFC is an SAP interface protocol. Based on CPI-C, it considerably simplifies the programming of communication processes between systems.
RFCs enable you to call and execute predefined functions in a remote system - or even in the same system.
RFCs manage the communication process, parameter transfer and error handling.

  • What is the diffrence between BAPI and RFC and business object

    Hi Experts,
Can anybody tel me what is the diffrence between RFC and BAPI , and also what is ther relation with business object?
    Thanx in advance.
    Nilesh Hiwale

    Hi,
BAPI's are associated with Business Objects and also they are RFC enabled.
But RFC's are the FM's which can be called from external systems, those FM's can be used in many places based on the applications..
    Check these Links
whats the difference between BAPI and RFC??

I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S.  I have an iphone 4.  It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I tell if the email is genuine?

Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it).

  • Difference between BAPI and RFC?

    Difference between BAPI and RFC?
also where to use BAPI and where to use RFC?

    Hi,
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
Reading instances of SAP business objects
GetList ( )  With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
GetDetail()  With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method.  BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. For example, if, after sales order 1 has been created, a second sales order 2 is created in the same transaction, the second BAPI call must not affect the consistency of the sales order 2. After completing the transaction with a COMMIT WORK, both the orders are saved consistently in the database.
    Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
    Change( )
The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
Delete( ) and Undelete( )  The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.
The BAPI Undelete() removes a deletion flag. These BAPIs are instance methods.
Cancel ( )  Unlike the BAPI Delete(), the BAPI Cancel() cancels an instance of a business object type. The instance to be cancelled remains in the database and an additional instance is created and this is the one that is actually canceled. The Cancel() BAPI is an instance method.
Add<subobject> ( ) and Remove<subobject> ( )  The BAPI Add<subobject> adds a subobject to an existing object inst! ance and the BAPI and Remove<subobject> removes a subobject from an object instance. These BAPIs are instance methods.
