DTD file?
Hello,
I got one DTD file from Client and i exported that file in external definition.
when i check the message tab in external definition there is no message available.
I tired to import the external definition, its giving error as Shipment has no message.
Thanks and Regards,
Chinna
choose DTD as External format
Selection Options in Messages List Box:message from DOCTYPE.
A dtd can be referenced by other dtd.It is only possible to reference external definitions with the same namespace.see The External References tab page which lists the references found in the document .

Error while running forge - Could not open DTD file
Hi,
I have a simple application created in Endeca,facing below error when I run baseline_update.sh
FATAL 09/04/13 22:26:42.491 UTC (1378333602491) FORGE {baseline}: Error in file 'file:///../../endeca/apps/Sample/data/processing/Sample.analytics_config.xml' (line 2, char 58): An exception occurred! Type:RuntimeException, Message:Could not open DTD file 'file:///../../endeca/apps/Sample/data/processing/analytics_config.dtd'.
Initially Forge was running error free, only changes we made were :
1. Ingesting multiple XML files.
2. Changed match mode of dimensions to Autogen
Forge is unable to open any of the DTD files, for testing removed DTD reference line from Sample.analytics_config.xml.
Forge fails again " FORGE {baseline}: Error in file 'file:///../../endeca/apps/Sample/data/processing/Sample.cral_profile.xml...................................."
Regards,
ShruthiI've seen this type of error before when Forge is configured to read multiple files with spec *.xml. Is that how you've configured your record adapter? This configuration then collides with Forge XML config files merged into the same data/processing directory.
From memory there's a couple of solutions for this - one might be to give the files a common name prefix if that's feasible, e.g. _data*.xml. You could use a sub-directory to separate the files, but you'd need to modify your copy scripts. -
How to paste DTD in XML file. (not reference to .dtd file)
Hello!
I create XML file using DOM. How can I create DTD on the top of the file?
I need the DTD, not a reference to it. So the next method won't work.
transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.DOCTYPE_SYSTEM, "Resources\\Settings\\projectFile.dtd") since it is paste a reference to .dtd file. It means that if user moves XML file to other place he need to move .dtd file also, and I don't want this method. I want paste next DTD
<!DOCTYPE project [
<!ELEMENT project (component*) >
<!ELEMENT component ANY >
<!ATTLIST component id ID #REQUIRED >
]>from the .dtd file on the top of my XML file. How can I do this?
Thank you.I've found that by opening a inputstream to the XML file and wrapping it to filter the DTD out altogether and passing that inputstream to JAXB does the trick.
this seems actually faster, since it doesn't go off on the net to look for the dtd!
is this not catered for already somewhere??
thanks, -
/bc/bsp/sap/smart_forms/smart_forms_xsf.dtdHello Gurus,
Requirement
I have a requirement to send the SMARTFORM pdf attachment in the form of a mail. It means the user will be able to look into the content of the PDF attachment of a smart form in the body of the mail. I found this standard program SF_XSF_DEMO which does exactly what I want. I can very well use the coding provided in this program to acheive what I want - send content of PDF attachment in the body of mail.
Issue
When I execute the standard program SF_XSF_DEMO I am finding that it is sending the mail to the email id specified in the selection screen of the program. The Mail is stuck in SOST where it is showing the email having data in required format - with logos, tables lines etc. But when I send the mail to the email id out of SOST it is received and I find there is formatting issue.
The logo is not in the right place, the tables are not dispalyed but only the contents of the tables are displayed. It is not formatted in sequence. It is a continuous text.
Then I found a PDF document
http://www.erpgenie.com/sap/netweaver/images/SAP%20Smart%20Forms%20XSF%20-%20XML%20Output%20for%20Smart%20Forms%20for%20SAP%20Web%20Application%20Server%20610.pdf
which explains step by step ways of working of this program. It also explains how the DTD <Document type definition> is used for this purpose.
Question
Please throw some light on how the DTD file to be created in the path bc/bsp/sap/smart_forms/smart_forms_xsf.dtd.
I have content of the DTD that should go in to this path but how to upload it???
I appreciate your help in advance.
Regards
RamI would like to know how the document type definition given in the PDF at page 25 and 26 can be uplaoaded as a DTD file in the required path,
/bc/bsp/sap/smart_forms/
The file to be put is smart_forms_xsf.dtd.

How to get rid of .dtd file in XML file?
If there is "<!DOCTYPE xxx SYSTEM "xxx.dtd">" in a XML file and there is no xxx.dtd file, there will be wrong while parsing in Java using JAXP, and the function: setValidating(false) is no use. I can't modify original XML file containing "<!DOCTYPE xxx SYSTEM "xxx.dtd">" and Maybe I have not that xxx.dtd file.
Please tell me how to solve it if you know, thanks a million.You're stuck. You've either got to find that .dtd file, or remove the line from the XML. Your only other option is to reimplement the DTD file so that the XML can use it, or you can just redo everything

XML Validation using custom DTD file
Well, I thought that my problem is about to be a trivial one, but now, I don't think so. I have to develop XML-based protocol over HTTP. XML Document doesn't contain any reference to DTD, but I have some DTDs. I want to validate my XML messages in real time and I want to find some library that allows to do something like that:
SomeXmlValidatingParser s = new SomeXmlValidatingParser(InputStream dtdFileStream);
for(;;)
InputStream is = message.recive();
DocumentObject = s.parseAndValidate(is);
}So, the issue is to pass my custom DTD file (it is already loaded to memory) into validating parser.
So, which library have such functionality? And if there are some, could you be so kind to advice some of them?Well, I've just realized that JDK 1.5 has standard way to validate XMLs using XSD schemas. Ok. But look at the sample
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<xs:import namespace="http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace"
schemaLocation="http://www.w3.org/2001/xml.xsd" />
<xs:element name="birthdate">
<xs:complexType>
<xs:sequence>
<xs:element name="month" type="xs:string" />
<xs:element name="day" type="xs:int" />
<xs:element name="year" type="xs:int" />
</xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>
</xs:element>
</xs:schema>Every time I process this schema, it goes to w3c.org... And I wonder if it cause some problems if I delete
<xs:import namespace="http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace"
schemaLocation="http://www.w3.org/2001/xml.xsd" /> -
How to convert cXML dtd files into xsd format and use them into BPEL application
Hi,
In my BPEL application I have to use cXML dtd files by converting them into xsd format.
I have used 'Microsoft Visual Studio' for converting cXML.dtd file into xsd format, for this 1 dtd file I am getting three xsd files (cXML.xsd, cXML1.xsd and cXML2.xsd).
Please check this once and let me know
1. why I am getting three xsd files for one dtd file,
2. how can I use cXML.xsd file in my application, do I ll have to use all the three files in my BPEL app and
3. what should I include in main xsd file (cXML.xsd) to import other two xsd files.
kindly check this once and let me know your suggestions .
ThanksHi,
While downloading the cXML dtd there will be example xml files. Using this xml's we can generate xsd.

I've done XML for a while but I've never used DTD files before. Now I'm tryign to parse a XML file
that has the following tag in it:
<!DOCTYPE Obj SYSTEM "s4.dtd">
The parser keeps giving me this exception:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: File "s4.dtd" not found.
I have placed the file s4.dtd in the same directory as the xml file. I'm using JBuilder (please don't say that was my first mistake!! (-:) and I've put a copy of the file in my "Working directory" but I still get the same error. I've tried specifying an absolute path in the xml file in different ways like this:
<!DOCTYPE Obj SYSTEM "c:\xml\s4.dtd">
<!DOCTYPE Obj SYSTEM "c:\\xml\\s4.dtd">
<!DOCTYPE Obj SYSTEM "c:/xml/s4.dtd">
but they don't seem to make any sense to it.
Please help!!!!The DTD needs to be in the same file as the XML file if you are going to specify it that way. You say you did that, so that probably means the parser can't determine what directory the XML file is in. Perhaps you passed the parser a FileReader or something like that? At any rate, the problem with your other attempts at fixing the DTD reference is that it is supposed to be a URL. Try something like this:
<!DOCTYPE Obj SYSTEM "file://c:/xml/s4.dtd">
(You may need file:/// instead of file://, experiment with that too.) -
DTD files as external Definition
Hi ,
Read lot of threads on this which are having same problem ,some of them got solved none of them posted how did they succeded on those.
i am getting error like Name "ds:Signature" is incorrect, when i tried to inport the .dtd file as external definition,so I did try converting dtd file to XSD ,it is creating the 3 xsd files and none of them are valid each one of them are error.But however the DTD file is valid .
Using Invoicedetail DTD file for my scenario.
you can download the file from http://cxml.org
Please let me knw on this.
Thanks,
MadhuHi,
Here are the errors for the 3 xsd's
1. Value 'ds:Signature' is not allowed for attribute 'ref'.
Hint: A valid value would be 'xml:lang'.
Error location: xs:schema / xs:element / xs:complexType / xs:sequence / xs:element / @ref
2. Value 'ds:Signature' is not allowed for attribute 'ref'.
Hint: A valid value would be 'xml:lang'.
Error location: xs:schema / xs:element / xs:complexType / xs:sequence / xs:element / @ref
3. Value 'xades:Identifier' is not allowed for attribute 'ref'.
Hint: A valid value would be 'xml:lang'.
Error location: xs:schema / xs:element / xs:complexType / xs:sequence / xs:element / @ref
these errors are coming in xml spy when i tried to validate .
Thanks,
Madhu

How to convert DTD files into XML(template) by using Java ?
I am a beginner to java,and want to convert a random DTD file
into a XML template(having no data).
any guys can give me some suggestions ?
thanks very muchDTD allow you to validate a XML file.
To do so, you can use API such as dom or xalan.
To transform an XML file from a vocabulary A to vocabulary B, you have to write a XSLT style sheet, and use xerces to perform the transformation.
Using tools such as XSL-FO, you can transform your XML into PDF. -

I don't know what ".ecs" files are, but it sounds that you may need to create / use D3L dtd's.
