Duplicate Cal. Yar/Month with offset on row 2?

I'm have a query/report with say Profit Center in the Rows and Qty and Cal. Year/Month (0CALMONTH) in the Columns. Very simple and works just fine.
But now I want to add an additional Dill Across with Cal. Year/Month offset by 1 year.
Something like this -

and how can it show the profit center in same column...

above display is proper , as it brings the profit center for both month in adjacent cellsss...

Hi Experts,
We have a bex query on virtual provider with only one column in it i.e 'cal year / month'. I'm having the problem with this column.
In the excel output of this report the cal year /month is displaying in this sequence.

It seems there are some records of "cal year/month" with value 01/0000 02/0000 03/0000 04/0000 05/0000 06/0000 07/0000 08/0000 09/0000
2 possible solution:
1) Check the data again, you may simply filter them by restrict the cal year/month to the specific value (01/0000)
2) restrict the cal year/month, only allow 2008/8 + value in the result.

Replacement path variable with offsets

Hi experts,
I have the requirement to report receivables (open items) historically by fiscal year / period.
More precisely, each period should show the open items that are open at the end of the period.
Example:
001.2010 (shows open items from 31.01.2010)
002.2010 (shows open items from 28.02.2010)
...etc.
The idea is that the user enters a fiscal year/period using a manual entry variable.
The open items should be calculated as follows:
KF: Amount
Posting Date <= Variable
Clearing > Variable or unassigned
Variable is a replacement variable that is replaced by attribute "Date To" from the user entry Variable (Fiscal year period)
E.g. if the user enters 008.2010, then this value is automatically replaced by 31.08.2010.
Generally this works.
However, to view the values for the last 12 months, a structure is needed consisting of 12 elements with offsets in order to show the 12 months prior to the selected period (e.g. 001.2010 - 002.2010 - 003.2010 ....etc.)
The problem is that the replacement only considers the user's variable entry and ignors the offsets.
Example:
User enters 008.2010.
In the column strucure I show 3 months 006.2010, 007.2010, 008.2010.
Then all columns would show items open on 008.2010 - the offsets are ignored.
Any idea, why this happens and how it can be resolved?
This problem has given me a headache for days.

The user should be able to enter a fiscal year / period and

take an e.g.
u have characteristic say ch1
u want to restrict it with replacement path variable
first of all create a variable var1
click what it is based upon for e.g. 0calday, 0material etc.
make it user entry variable
select single or multiple entry
make it mandatory
save it and hit okey
click on ch1
right click and say restrict
in new window create a new variable
give its name and technical name
processing path is replacement path
go to next tab of replacement path
select several ooptions
replace variable with another variable
select a variable called var1
change the offset length and offset start with different parameters.
hit okey
this way u have restricted ch1 with replacement path variable var1
now when u run report u have to enter value of var1
which will then further feeded to ch1
this way u can create replacement path variables at lots of instances and then u can always feed the value from var1 at different time
make sure as this ur requirement is date
try to use 0calday as reference infoobject all the times....

How to select Months with in a date range

I am working on a report which will list out Month wise totals in each row.
How should i select the Months with in a date range and do the sum ( User may select the date range for N number of years also. Example : 01/10/2000 to 01/01/2010 )

Customer Exit Variblae with Offset

Hello Everyone,
Can any one tell me whether we can use offset on Customer Exit Variable or no?
I have
Variable 1. Calmonth_01 in first Column which is also input varialble.
Variable 2. Calmonth_02 is second Columnt which is Exit Variable on which offset is not applied.
From third Column i m using second variable with offset.
According to me it has to work. but i m report it is not working.
Plz help.

Hi,
If you have any Input Variable on 0CALMONTH and based on the input month if you want to display the reports either + or 1 Months then you can use Off Sets it will work, no need to go for Customer Exit Variables.
1. Create a User Entry Variable on 0CALMONTH eg name of variable = ZMNTH
2. Restrict the Keyfigure with ZMNTH in column one.
3. Restrict the Keyfigure with ZMNTH-1 in column two, it will display Previous month data based on Input month
4. Restrict the Keyfigure with ZMNTH+1 in column three, it will display next month data based on Input month
Steps 3 & 4 are using Off Sets only.

Problem with offset length

Hi,
i have a problem with offset length please see below code and suggest :
data: content_new LIKE soli-line. "It has a length of 255 charecter
content_new = 'MTE:SD0\nwssd01_SD0_00\CPU\CPU_Utilization'.
content_new = content_new+4(251).
it is giving result:
content_new = SD0\nwssd01_SD0_00\CPU\CPU_Utiliza "it is removing last 4 charecter of UTILIZATION also
while i need :
content_new = 'SD0\nwssd01_SD0_00\CPU\CPU_Utilization'.
can anyone plz help me?

You can find string length first. Subtract length by 4, Then use like new = str+4(len), use condense if required.

Compare turnover actual month with previous month on monthly based report

Hello Gurus,
please help me with the following requirment:
In have a monthly based report with key figure 'turnover'. Now I want to calculate deviation turnover actual month vs turnover previous month from last year. How to handle this?
Example:

Hello voodi,
it doesn't work. With offset function it shows the turnover only in the columns from last year. I need the turnover from last year in the columns from this year. Any ideas?

Which Time variable should use compare this month with last month

We want to calculate the increaed number of employees according to one action reason e.g. Entry to company compare with last month. In this case we have to use time variable in BEx query designer. Now can see 0calmonth has serval variable available.
1) Should we use [0CMLMON] for last month and use offset for this month like [0CMLMON]-1 or [0CMLMON]+1 or use variable [0RSTTCM1], which variable should we use for this month and last month? Do we need to create variables by manually?
2) Then using calculated KF to calculate the increaed number of employees, is this logic correct? If it is wrong, please info.

Hi,
For the comparison of last 2 months data, you can use two Restricted Key figures with reference to 0CALMONTH and it is better to use only customer exit variable for both RKF's.For the Last month use offset value as -1.

While running the webi report Cal.Year/ Month Prompts list of vales showing format as MM.YYYY (01.2014) in Applet version.
and running the same report with HTML version, Cal.Year/ Month Prompts list of vales showing different format as MMM.YYYY (Jan.2014).
I have checked at bex Q level Cal.Year/ Month variable have List of values MM.YYYY (01.2014) format.

In BEx , variable values shows both text and key and when value selected it only show key in the entry field box .- Yes, bex variable and characteristic defined display as KEY.

How to copy a record with an Automatic Row Processing (DML) ?

I want to duplicate (to copy) a record.
I have a form, with an Automatic Row Processing (DML), looking for the PK stored into an item named P26_ID and populating the values into the corresponding items of the form.
I have an Automatic Row Processing (DML) which permit to update, delete and modify the row.
So far so good.
I thought it would be good if I calculate a new value for the PK and stored it into the P26_ID.
Then I thought the Automatic Row Processing (DML) would see that it is a new value for the PK and would "decide" insert a new record.
But it does not work like that. I thought it was because the item P26_ID is database column type; so I switched to another item named P26_ID_NEW and put this new pk into this item. I then created another Automatic Row Processing (DML), triggered by this button, and which will look into this new item. It does not work either.
Where do i go wrong ?

Assuming that the 'Duplicate' function is available only when the page is in 'Edit' mode, ie. a record has already been loaded into the form you can do the following to duplicate this record
1) Define a button named 'Duplicate'
2) Set the target of this button to be 'URL'
3) Set the URL for this button to be

Report grouped by month, need months with no data to appear.

In my report, I have the data grouped on a formula field that concatenates month and year, so all of my months are returned in order with summary data for the months in headder along with the group name. The details are supressed.
I have two issues.
1) I need the headders to show up for all months, even months with no data. I've had a similar issue in the past, which I've worked around, but I was grouping based on a finite ordinal set that existed in my database. I simply let in a little more data than I needed, and supressed the extra rows. This isn't going to work here.
2) I need the zeroed data points to appear in a graph. Right now, the graph just ignores months that don't exist in the dataset, and as a result the time scale isn't an accurate representation of the actual data trend. ie: if Jan was 13, Feb was 0, and March was 13, on the graph, the line is continuous from 13 to 14. For a user who isn't paying attention to the axis would miss that there is actually a zero in there.

MY system folder, including hidden folders are littered with duplicate folders and files with the suffix (from old Mac) How do I remove them

I have a Macbook Pro running Leopard 10.5.8. I had a problem with my my operating system (my fault, I moved a file I shoudnt have) couldnt boot up but was able to boot up from a backup. I managed to repair my original system except now all the system folders, including hidden folders are littered with duplicate folders and files with the suffix (from old Mac). For the most part the dupes are an exact copy, but not always. I want to remove them to free up space and cant imagine duplicate folders in the /system/library are not hindering my computer. But I dont know where to start and am afraid of doing irreparable damage. Any ideas

Problem with offset values

Hi Experts,
I have a problem with offset values. I have create a variable on OFISCPER, it's characteristic value, indivdual value, mandatory and ready for the input. I need to show the varibel period and the l previous period and so on till 12 periods. I used the offset values (-1, -2, etc.) but when I execute the query I can show just the variable period and the period previous I don`t see. The query is based on multiprovider and don´t has filters. Can anyone help me?

You may nt need to have 12 columns in the query designer.
You could include the keyfigure and restrict it to the variable and create the offset for the 12 periods

Want to print the whole month with or without overtime for each employee

I have Oracle forms/reports10g R2, Below query returns employee overtime correctly but I want to add the whole month with it in simple words if one employee have overtime for five days in a month I want the query to return the whole month including five overtime days for each employee and let say if we have ten employees query return whole month for each employee either he have or overtime or not how can I implement this in report it becomes agony for me, anyone please suggest a solution.

Thanks for reply, I think I didn't explain as I should, I want to print Overtime report for each employee let say employee A123 did overtime for five days in DEC than what I want is to print report for employee A123 for the whole month means when I print report blank cell should come where A123 don't have data (I mean other 25/26 days).
