Duplicate Email Forms When Dragging PDF

Don't know if this happens to other computers, but I can repeat it at will on mine....
Create a document and save it as a PDF onto your desktop. Close all windows, then drag the PDF onto the Mail icon in the Dock to create a new email message with the PDF attached to it.
On my system, with several different PDF files, when I do this, I get an email form with the PDF attached to it...and another blank email form just behind it with no attachment.
For some reason, dragging the PDF onto the Mail icon in the Dock creates 2 mail forms.
Anybody else seeing this?

unfortunately it DOES happen to others... there is another longer thread here about the problem. no solution found yet.

  • Problems with links/email addresses when viewing PDF in browser ONLY

    Hi,
I have just sent a pdf document with an email address in.  There appears to be a strange issue: if that pdf file is downloaded and viewed in Adobe Reader the mailto links behind the text email addresses work as normal ([email protected]).  However, when that pdf is viewed directly in the browser (Chrome on Windows 7) using the built in pdf viewer all the double letters in the mailto are removed (eg. [email protected]), however the text itself is unchanged.
There are two examples of this in two situations, both double letters.
I've just tried a test with '[email protected]' as the test address.  Again, the mailto link shows as "mailto: [email protected]".  Removing the first double letter, but keeping the second!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

Sorry, you will have to complain to Google about this; Adobe has nothing to do with the Chrome PDF viewer.
Or configure Chrome to use the Adobe Reader plugin: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • Auto Calculate Forms when opening pdf

I have a PDF that has form boxes that I created in them. I also have an Access Database that is pushing values to these forms. The numbers are populating all of the cells correctly. My issue is that when I open my file some of the form boxes that rely on other form boxes are not calculated when I open the PDF. I need to manually go into the field, delete the number in the box, hit enter, then the number is calculated. Is there any way that I could calculate my forms when I first open?

How are you populating the fields from the Access database, exactly?
In any case, you can use the calculatNow document method to update. Just place the following line of code in a document-level JavaScript, outside of a function definition:
    // Update the calculated fields
    calculateNow();

  • Reader XI pops up when dragging PDF file to email

System: Windows 7.  Three windows are involved in this scenario:
    1. Some document or other in Adobe reader XI, in the background
    2. Windows Explorer on one side of the screen
    3. New Outlook email being composed on the other side of the screen.
Sequence: I've found the PDF file that I want to send to someone, so I drag it from the Windows Explorer window to the Outlook window to attach it to the email I'm writing.  If my mouse pointer goes over any open Reader XI window, that window immediately pushes to the front, obscuring the email window which I was aiming for.
Of course there are many workarounds for this, but the behaviour is both annoying and unnecessary.  If I want to drop the PDF file in an obscured reader window, I can hover over the icon in the taskbar to bring the window to the front.  This "me, me, me!" behaviour of Reader XI is crass.

  • Trying to duplicate a form in a PDF

I have multiple PDF files that I have merged together and use as a sales tool.  I would like to create a form to put in the top corner of the page where I can fill in the pertinent data.  I can obviously do this for one page, but is there some way to make the form show up on all the subsequent pages as well without copying and pasting multiple times?  Thanks!

  • Thunderbird doesn't work as default email client when sharing pdf attachments. Works fine if Mail is the default client

With Tbird set as the default email client, whenever I try to email the pdf, a message pops up that the default client can't handle sending the attachment. It works all the time if the native Mac Mail software is the default client..
This forces me to save the pdf file, go to Tbird to send a message and then have to find the file in the folder structure to add as an attachment.

My PDF software is Adobe Acrobat. So what is wrong with your Thunderbird software I must ask!

  • Duplicate Email Alarms When Syncing Multiple Computers

I have iCal set up on multiple computers, a desktop and a PowerBook. Both are syncing via .mac, which is ideal because I can add an event on either computer and it updates both.
This however causes a problem. Email alarms from both computers end up sending me the same reminder. Resulting in my inbox receiving the same alert several times.
How can I stop email alarms from but one computer?
What adjustments do I need to make?

  • Email form - new field

    Hi Gurus!
Is it possible and if so how to add new object/attribute or just new field in email form (t-code CRMD_EMAIL) ?
    Regards
    Piotr

    Hi Piotr,
You must create a structure in SE11 t-code, and assign it to a new scenario (for example) in the path indicated by Dipesh.
Then, on your email form, choose the scenario you created for it. It will make available the fields that you add in your structure to your email form. Drag it to desired position in e-mail form.
Then, to fill those values, you are right. You must implement CRM_IM_ADD_DATA_BADI and method CRM_IM_BPSELE.
There, the fields that you dragged into your email form will became available at changing parameter ct_att_values.
All you have to do is to fill each line of that internal table by looping them, according your logic. Something like this:
          LOOP AT ct_att_values ASSIGNING <line>.
            CASE <line>-name.
              WHEN 'ZCRMST_EMAIL_FORMS-USER_ID.
                <line>-value = sy-uname.
              WHEN 'ZCRMST_EMAIL_FORMS-OTHER_FIELD.
                <line>-value = lv_other_field.
            ENDCASE.
          ENDLOOP.
Hope that this helps you going a little further.
    Kind regards,

  • Someone sends me a PDF form when I fill it out and email it back to them they receive it blank-why?

Someone sends me a PDF form when I fill it out and email it back to them they receive it blank-why?

All the fill-in PDF forms I've used are read/only. Meaning that whatever you fill in does not get stored and saved back with the file.
As Linc suggests, you will be creating a new PDF, that will not have fillable fields but that will contain whatever you filled in.

  • Error message when submitting PDF form

I am very new at using Adobe Acrobat so I don't really know what I am doing. I created a PDF form for my site. I set it up to submit to an email. When I tested the form and hit the submit button I got this error "An error occurred while creating the file 'C:\WINDOWS\FORMS\FRMCACHE.DAT' in the form directory." Any help on what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Andrea

To submit by e-mail, the client computer has to have MAPI active for the e-mail clients. Also, you do not want folks to submit a full PDF, but just the FDF or XML form results. Those can be opened in the form on your machine. One of these issues are likely related to your problem.
Be aware that you likely designed the form in Designer, not Acrobat. There are form tools in Acrobat, but many folks just hit the Forms menu and then find themselves taken to Designer. Once in Designer, you can no longer do editing in Acrobat.

  • Changing the name of the form when attached to an email

    Good Day All;
I am wondering if there is a way to change the name of an attachment when the email button is clicked.
    Let me explain.
I have designed a form that will be emailed from one are to another and when the email button is clicked the email attachment is named (example)  “_150s2140t32f8b0iu.pdf”. Of course this is a meaningless name. I would like to somehow change this to better represent the name of the form.
    Thanks for any suggestions
    Thanks
    Chomp

    Hi Chomp,
It sounds like you are clicking the email button when in Preview in LC Designer. When the form is being Previewed it is given a temporary name. If the form is opened in Acrobat directly, does the email button attached the form with the proper/full name?
If you want the form to be given a named based on user's inputted data, then you will need a trusted function (.js file) on every user's computer. See this discussion: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2266799#2266799.

  • Email Form in PDF format

I've created a form in LC Designer 8.05. I want users to be able to fill out my form and send the data back as a pdf. I've looked over the forum and tried using the an Email Submit Button and editing the XML Source, but then my button doesn't work. I also tried using a regular Button and a Submit control using the mailto: protocol but that's not working either. It only works when I use the Email Submit Button and an XML attachment. Anyone know why these two solutions are working for me? Thanks.

Hi Cat --<br />I was finally able to resolve my issue.  Here's my notes.<br /><br /> <br /><br />Email buttons<br /><br />Form data is sent in XML format by default.  To change format to PDF, you must edit the XML Source.<br /><br />If you do not see the xml source tab, right click on the 'Design View' tab and select 'XML Source'. The tab should appear.Select the 'Design View' tab, and within the document, select the 'Submit Email' button. Now select the 'XML Source' tab. You should see the line for your email button control highlighted. <br /><br />Start looking down the code from here until you find a line that reads: <submit format="xml" textEncoding="UTF-8" target = "blah blah blah...<br /><br />Change the format from "xml" to "pdf", save the document and test it. It should now send the form as a PDF rather than xml. <br /><br /> <br /><br />Now, open form in Acrobat Professional. Select the 'Advanced' menu option. Select the 'Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader', and save the file. <br /><br />Open your file and test again. If you are running the form in Reader, and do not go through this process, you do not have save rights to the form in Reader. This allows the form to be saved, and ultimately, sent as an email. <br /><br />Jenny Fain<br />Windows Administrator<br />City of Roswell IT

  • Can I have Email Recipients of a PDF Form Complete via Smart Phone Email?

    Hello Adobe PDF Forum,
Is it possible to have email recipients of my PDF form complete via their smart phone email platform?  If so, could you step me through the 'how to' process in making this possible for my recipients?
Thank you!  Have a great afternoon.
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
Your recipients can use the free Adobe Reader mobile app for iOS or Android to fill out PDF forms via their smart phones. They can download the Reader mobile app from Features | Adobe Reader mobile app. Then, when they receive an email from you with your form attached, they can open it directly from the email client into the Reader mobile app and fill it out. Easy!
Please let us know if you have additional questions.
    Best,
    Sara

I would like to send a sapscript form as a pdf to a mail recipient using the BCS interface.
