Duplicating format in all columns of table.

In Pages, when I'm working with tables, is there a way to set all cells to have same format? at the same time? opposed to going through EACH cell and changing the font and alignment to be the same in each cell? You can't highlight the entire table.  Each cell has to be formatted separately.
Thanks.
This explanation seems quite complex: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18661840#18661840
There certainly must be an easier way to do this.

Hi Pamela,
What type of formatting do you want to do?
Here's a sample, showing format changes made to a whole table and to a single row within that table. Steps listed from memory.
Open new Pages WP document from Blank template.
Insert a table, accepting the default 3 col x 4 row with 1 header row format.
Click on cell A1 to select it. Shift-click on cell C4 to add all cells to the selection.
Set text to Marker Felt, Wide, ?? (don't recall the size I set)
Enter the 'data' (I used cell addresses) into each cell.
Result to step 5 shown above.
Click cell A1 (twice, if necessary) to select that cell.
Shift click cell C4 to add all cells to the selection.
Set text to Menlo, Bold Italic, 18, deep blue (column 2, row 6 in the color palette).
Click the "Center Text" button to center (horizontally) the text in all cells.
Use the Fill color well (right side of Format bar) to set the (cell) fill colour to a lighter shade of blue (column 1, row 9).
Result after step 10.
Click on cell A1 to select it.
Shift-click on cell C1 to select all cells in row 1.
Set the text to Arial Black, Regular, 24.
Set the Fill colour to the blue in column 2, row 9.
Result aftr step 14.
Note that you do not need to select ('highlight') the whole table; you need to select all of the cells to be changed, using a click to select one cell, then a shift-click to select all cells between the first and the one in which the shift-click is done.

Barry

  • Selecting all columns from table in a model query

I have written a model query which joins 4 tables, applies some rules and returns updated rows by selecting 4 columns out of this. Currently it works fine because all 4 columns are from MODEL aliases. Now I need to select 16 more columns in the same query but none of these columns is added in MODEL aliases. When I tried selecting these columns I got oracle error ORA - 32614. Can someone please guide me to include these columns in the same model query?
I tried couple of options but no luck. Here are those options for ready reference:
    1. I cannot nest existing model query into another select because there are no columns avaiable to join in output of current query to map with other records.
    2. I cannot include all 16 columns in MODEL aliases because some of these columns are actually output of user defined functions.
I am using Oracle database version 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0.

Thank you Avijit for your reply. There is a syntax error on the ON in this part of the statement which I don't know how to fix - I tried messing around with another INNER JOIN but am not confident that I'm doing the right thing:
    SENAlertType.SENAlertTypeIDONClassMember.ClassMemberStudentID
Thanks for your help! I will need to do some more bedtime reading on joins.

  • Formatting Critical Tasks (Text in Table) not applying across all columns

    All,
I am working on creating a schedule from multiple smaller schedules.  A few of these schedules had manual text formatting which I overwrote manually (selecting cells and changing text color).  Now when attempting to apply text styles to the critical
path the text styles will not apply to all Critical tasks or all columns visible.  I'm guessing I caused problems by manually changing the text color but I don't know how to fix it.  Please help!

All of the manual text formatting and re-formatting in cells has changed the default formatting in the Gantt Chart View.
Rather than fiddling with it, the best way is to recover the original formatting of the Gantt Chart View, and then if you want to modify it make a copy of that view, name the copy something like "AA Gantt Chart 01", and then format the text and bar
styles (not individual bits and pieces of cells and bars) of your new view. Include the "AA" or an underscore or something similar as part of the name so that your new views always go to the top of the list and you can always distinguish them
from the original ones that came out of the box.
Use the organiser to recover the original Gantt Chart View by pulling the Gantt Chart View from the global template. Now, MSP will not allow you to over-write the Gantt Chart View in your file while that view is the active view, so you will have to switch
to another view while you do it. Switch to the Tracking Gantt View, then File, Organiser. You see all of the clean stuff on the left hand side and all of the stuff in your file on the right.
In the future, leave the original views as they are. Also, leave the original tables, filters, groups, reports etc alone and if you need modified/customised versions of them make copies and change the copies. This is just good housekeeping. Also, do not
copy modified/customised views from your file into the global template ((or you will poison the well).
Hope this helps. Please mark as answer.

  • Column and table formatting challenges

Am switching form microsoft word to pages and experiencing some challenge:
    1.
how do I format specific text only to be in 2,3 or 4 columns but not the entire page?
    2.
how do I insert a table in a table cell, or text box in a table cell, or if that's possible how do I format specific text in a table cell (not everything) to display over 2 columns? I remember doing all of this formatting manually back in the days of wordstar for DOS, and pages 09 ought to offer some improvement I would hope.

You can use tabs. Pages is mostly simpler than Word, with some extra features, and a whole lot cheaper. There is some comfort that Pages can do things that Word can't and in some cases, not all, do the same tasks simpler.

  • All columns of all table in one schema

    Hi

which view i should use to count all cloumns of all tables in particular schema?

A data conversion means you should actually know what are the columns used for, not how many they are.
one more question that count include hidden columns
what is hidden column used for ? I can not see those columns in actual table.See here an example :

  • Is there a way to match all columns in a table?

    Oracle 11.1.0.7:
Is there any way to say match all the columns of Table A with Table B? For eg:
    Table A

    name
    Table B
    id
    name
Is there a way to say match all the columns with similar column in other in a select instead of doing "where A.id = B.id and A.name = b.name"? I am trying to write a compare script to test that replication is indeed doing the right thing.

While I was doing the comparision I found that if column x in Table A has "null" and same column x in table B has "null" and if I do "where A.x = B.x" then it doesn't return the row. I am not sure why. Does "minus" work the same way? That's because NULL will never equal any value (including NULL) and NULL will never not equal any value (including NULL). That is
NULL = 1 is unknown (which maps to false)
    NULL = NULL is unknown
    NULL != 1 is unknown
    NULL != NULL is unknown
If you want to compare columns that may have NULL values, you need to use IS NULL and IS NOT NULL or use the NVL function to map NULL values to a non-NULL but impossible value, i.e.
    WHERE (a.x = b.x OR
            (a.x is null and b.x is null))or
    WHERE nvl(a.x,-17) = nvl(b.x,-17)assuming that -17 is not a valid value for either a.x or b.x

  • ADF FACES: af:table not rendering all columns

I'm using ADF EA 17 with myFaces 1.0.9 on JBoss 4.0.1/JVM 1.4.2_07-b05. The af:table is embedded within an af:panelgroup (being body of af:panelbox).
The af:table is not rendering all columns (only last 2 out of 8 cols total). The model behind the af:table is a java.util.List. Debugging shows that the list is filled up with beans correctly and that each of the properties of such a bean corresponding to a table column are also set correctly.
Strange thing is that sometimes all columns are rendered ok. Especially if i make heavy changes on the jsp (e.g. removing all but 2 cols from the af:table) and dropping it into the .../jboss/server/../tmp/deploy/tmpXYZ-exp.war directory. Restarting JBoss results in the old behaviour. Also closing browser and re-opening it yields to the missing columns again.
I've set breakpoints on the bean properties representing on table column and i can see, that the getter methods aren't called (all but those 2 that get rendered finally)
Table has multiselection enabled with 1 command button.
This happens with both IE 6 and Firefox 1.0.4; no oracle, myFaces exceptions visible on console or any log file.
Has anybody made same experiences so far or an idea what the problem really is ?
    best regards,
    Christoph.

I've tried it also with a plain af:table without any surrounding af:panelgroup or/and af:panelbox. Same result.
The bean holding the table-model (the java.util.List) is in session-scope. the table-model is update by an actionListener fetching values from an EJB. Could the session-scope be a problem ?
Potential candidates from my point of view, that might cause trouble here:
--) Caching (i've seen that sort of "CachedRenderers" are used
    --) partial page rendering
    --) multi-threading issue.
--) or any silly mistake of mine :-)
    best regards,
    Christoph

is there any other way to find the name of the columns which have been marked as unused?Don't think so, and you would not be able to do much about. You won't be able to reference it, you won't be able to un-unuse it, and you would even be able to add a new column having same name.
Why are you using SET UNUSED in the first place?
