Dutch Map from Photoshop to Flash

Hello everyone,
I encountered a problem.
I made a map of holland in Photoshop and made a sepirate layer of each province (background is transparant).
I load it in Flash and now I find out that the selection of each province is square.......
meaning some provinces are unclickable after turning them into buttons because they cover eachothers space.
I tryed saving all provinces sepirate as .gif and .png but it doesnt change a thing (except it being more work).
Anyone got a suggestion for me?
Thanks in advance!
Ferdi

You don't want to copy and paste into Flash. You need to import the picture to the stage.
If you don't want the background, don't sve it as a PSD but rather a GIF with a transparency where you cut out objects.

  • Copying Bitmaps from Photoshop to Flash

There are a few things I really miss or find quite annoying when copying Bitmaps from Photoshop to Flash.
Life could be so much easier, but well, as so often, it isn't, because:
Why is the alpha channel discarded? I mean you can copy whole Ilustrator-Selections to Flash, but you can't copy an alpha channel in a bitmap from Photoshop
What about this (stupid) dpi-inclusion? Flash is a pixel-based application. It does not really help if you find a bitmap in the flash IDE library which natively has odd dimensions like 273.45 x 81.28 and you aren't able to change that in the properties. you could as well just delete this bitmap again, because bitmaps with odd dimensions and DPI don't really help in Flash (well this may be another case with bitmaps which are a part of a whole collection like when importing AI-content. But for a single bitmap?)
Is there at least an option to turn-of the DPI-conversion for single Bitmaps?
I think otherwise the DPI settings for the flash document and the settings in the PSD document should match. But that would be really tedious.
I always use a freeware program like irfanview to lose the extra DPI information which is just a big annoyance in many situations.
    Well, that's about it

No, sort of. If you can live with the text EXACTLY as it is in
Photoshop, kill all the layer except the text and save as PDF from
Photoshop. Place the PDF in InDesign and it will retain its vector
properties and formatting. You will not be able to edit anything.

  • Importing From photoshop to flash

After importing from photoshop to flash to create a website, the background image that i had within photoshop was set to 1304x700 pixels but when i imported it into flash the image changed to the canvas size that i had made the document in photoshop which was 1000x700 pixels.  Now i can change the size of the image when it has been imported into flash to 1304x700 but it obviously messes up my pic quality.
Can someone please help me lol im new to this. I might go mad shortly, ive tried importing it three times now.
Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me.

  • Not so sure can copy pattern from photoshop into flash professional cs4

whether can i copy pattern from photoshop in flash

app.activeDocument.fullName.fsName will get you the full path to the file but if the document has not been saved it will throw an error.

  • Help loading an image from photoshop into flash..

I have a script written that will take an image open in photoshop, save a copy of it (as a jpeg), and I want to
open that file in a new flash window that I open. The property app.activeDocument.full name does not actually return
the full name, it returns "~/Desktop/Pictures/fileName.jpg", instead of "C:/Users/me/Desktop/Pictures/fileName.jpg".
I know I can do an image import from flash, but I would rather pass the information directly to the flash.
How can I pass the absolute file path to the flash from photoshop?

app.activeDocument.fullName.fsName will get you the full path to the file but if the document has not been saved it will throw an error.

  • Converting from photoshop to Flash

I do cartoons with photoshop but i want to add sound to them
but for this I need flash but i cant convert those files to
    flash

    tboparis,
you can export from P'shop in a number of formats that flash
can import - but retaining layers is
not supported - maybe now that Adobe aquired Macromedia that
will change (hint hint if Adobe reads
    this).
There is a plugin called PSD2FLA:
    http://www.medialab.com/psd2fla/
I have it and it wors great. A little pricey for some but it
has saved me hours and probably days of
work - so it was worth it for me.
otherwise you can, if you have Fireworks, open the PSD in it
and then save as and open that file in
Flash - i cant remember exactly how but i was able to retain
layers going through Fireworks once -
but transparency was hit or miss (mostly miss).
Other people have reported importing PSD files via quicktime
    - but i have never had any success with
    this.
Google may be your friend here.
    hope this helps

  • Importing layer groups from photoshop to flash cs4

    Hi everyone,
I have about 5 layer groups in Photoshop and in each of the groups/folders there are some layers with some text and other layers with isolated images and also layers with some layer styles. When I import this file into Flash I need each of the layer groups to be imported as a flattened bitmap image. I don't want any of the text to be editable or to have any of the layer styles intact. So if there are 5 layer groups in Photoshop, I just need five bitmap images in flash. I've tried doing this but it still imports the layers separately. I know I can flatten the groups in Photoshop but I want to keep this file editable.
Does anyone know how to do this?
    Appreciate any help.

    Harry Kunz wrote:
Then why not flatten it (BUT not save it) and import it into flash THEN revert the photoshop file (CTRL+Z) so it will still be editable version?
Yeah I know that's an option but I just thought there might be a quicker way, but maybe not.
    Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • Moving image from Photoshop to flash

I am a complete newbie to both softwares. I have cut out part of an image in photoshop that I want to import into flash. The image has the chequered background on it, which suggests that I have cut the areas I don't want out. The image is a .psd @66.7%(Layer0,CMYK/8*) whatever that means. I have tried copying it with the rectangular marquee tool and pasteing it into flash however it is bringing in the corners black which I have cut out and want to be opaque.
Is there any other way to do this so that the corners that I cut out in Photoshop do not come into flash as being a black background?
    Many thanks

You don't want to copy and paste into Flash. You need to import the picture to the stage.

  • Importing a Layer Shape from Photoshop to Flash

    Hi Guys,
I have a layer in photoshop that is shaped like an triangle, and I want to make it so that in flash when I hover over it, it changes to an 'active' version that is brighter, however whenever I try to import the layer (I've tried saving it as .bmp, .png etc) I can get it to import without the background, but the imported file is still a square (the image size). Essentially I need just the exactly outline of the layer, which is a shape, versus the entire size of the image, can anyone help?? Thanks!

There are only two options that I know of. You can redraw the triangle as a Flash object. Or, you can break apart the bitmap and remove the background parts of the image.

  • How do you transfer pen tool drawings from Photoshop CS2 to Flash CS3?

I tried to copy and paste it but that didn't work.
I didn't want to redraw the entire picture in in pen again in Flash (so that I could later animate the drawing), so I was wondering how I could transfer the pen tool drawings from Photoshop to Flash?

    helpmepleaze a écrit:
I have an old laptop with Photoshop elements 5.0 and wanted to move that program to my newer PC but the program was too old so I bought and loaded Photoshop Elements 13 on my PC.  To import my photos from the 5.0 I did a full backup on a flash drive and then loaded the pictures to the PC with 13.  The pictures are there but none of my collections from 5.0. I read the manual and said I was supposed to be prompted to convert old catalogs.  I was never prompted and do not know how to transfer my collections in my catalog from 5.0 to the 13.
What you are doing is not only to install a newer version of PSE, it's also to migrate to a new computer.
The general solution is to do a full organizer backup on an external drive and do an organizer restore to the new computer (or new drive).
Use Backup, Restore to move catalog | Organizer | Elements 6 or later
The problem is that since PSE5 is an old version working with a different database engine, you must first use a conversion utility to create a PSE13 version.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/elements-organizer/kb/convert-organizer-catalog-elements-13-64.html
So read that paper carefully, do the backup restore and conversion as described.

  • Flash CS4 import shape from Photoshop CS4

    Hello,
    I'm using flash CS4 on a Mac.
Does any one know how to properly import shape objects from photoshop to flash. The problem is when I import shape objects from photoshop it turns the shape into a bitmap masked out by the photoshop mask. This forces me to then manually go and recreate the shape object in flash.
I have tried many settings but to no avail. Any help, suggestions, or even tell me they have fixed the issue in CS5 or CS5.5.
    Thank You, Jacob

Have you updated Flash to 10.0.2?
Is the Illustrator file very large/insense number of vectors involved?  (ie: if you watch Activity Monitor, does the memory usage grow until things disappear?)
How large/intensive is the FLA you're working on?

  • Importing Images into Flash CS4 from Photoshop 7

    Hello,
I've created an image in flash, basically the image is a ring which has then been divided into 3 equal segments, each segment exists on its own seperate layer with and has a transparent background. I want to make ach of these segments into a button on flash, so I've imported them across and converted them into buttons, however the problem I have is that when it gets imported into flash, it creates a box around each segment which is what flash sees as the full button, this means when you roll over a blank piece of the segment flash recognises it as rolling over the button. Is this just an inherent problem from importing from photoshop into flash or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks
    Sean

    Check the settings:
    Edit/Preferences.../PSD File importer...
And then load the *.psd file without the background.
And certainly there is no change in flash...

  • Imported graphic from Photoshop is pixelated

I have a problem when trying to import any graphic file, even a .psd file, in flash pro. The problem is that when imported, the graphic gets pixelated and the edges of of the graphic does not look smooth (not curves but pixelated lines). Interestingly the problem only occurs when I test the movie, but while editing it the graphic looks fine.
I am using windows and have flash and photoshop cs5. How can I transfer my graphic from photoshop to flash without the pixelation of the curved lines? Thanks.

To add to what Adninjastrator said, You could also think about creating vectors in Photoshop as most games use vectors because it doesn't pixelate no matter what size

  • Photoshop and Flash

I heard that is possible to have photoshop help out with
projects and even movies. My friend has an early version of
photoshop, and I was wondering he could do to contribute to some of
    my movies?
Can someone give me a few examples?

Your question is still a little weird to me - I have never
heard it asked before - let's start with
some obvious questions: what version of flash do you have? If
you have CS3 then integration with
photoshop is easier with the PSD importer.
As to what photoshop can do with Flash - absolutely nothing
based on how you worded the question -
photoshop is what it is, and flash is what it is - photoshop
    doesn't "do" anything "with" flash.
But I think you might be asking what can you do when you
combine these 2 programs as far as making
images and then animating them in flash...? Is this the
    question?
It's hard to say because people have been importing images
from photoshop into flash for so many
years and for so many different reasons that the answer is
    simply...anything your imagination can
    produce (for the most part).
Jib Jab imports body parts from cut up photos for animation
in flash while a photographer will build
a flash gallery with XML in flash using images that were
saved from export (or any graphics editor).
Really hard to answer your question because it is like asking
can images be used in flash when they
can and it has been practiced for years and millions of
websites already online showcase this. Best
bet is to go to a site like www.thefwa.com and see for
    yourself.
    hope this helps.

  • Slightly distorted aspect-ratio (and missing alpha channel) when copy/paste from Photoshop

Maybe this is an old topic (but I didn't find anything on google or this forum):
When I copy images from Photoshop to Flash, the aspect ratio of the bitmap gets distorted. A 728x90 Bitmap becomes 727.6x90 (and so on...). The dpi is set on exactly 72 on both programs. Is there any way to JUST get a 1:1 pixel copy? (except using another program like Irfanview as a "man-in-the-middle")
Although I selected "32 bit color w/alpha" in the clipboard settings of Flash, the alpha channel seems to get discarded when copying from Photoshop. Shouldn't it at least work with Photoshop? I mean, it's an Adobe product after all and maybe the most commonly used together with Flash.
Would just be nice if a copy-paste between PS and FL was an easier thing.
I know there can also be a pixel-aspect somewhere (like used for video productions and wide-screen), but I didn't find settings for that anywhere.
I still use Flash Professional CS5.0

I'm on windows7 with CS5.5 and transparency and size are copied over just fine. You answered what would be my first question, 72dpi. How about the image mode. Are you using RGB 8bit?
I've had lots of issues with the OS not handling transparency very well also, such right-click on an image on a website that you know is a PNG and has transparency, then paste it into photoshop, the transparency isn't saved.
The route that always works (but is a PITA) is of course to save it as a PNG with transparency and just import it.
