DW 8 Manage Sites Window Problem

I started an earlier thread on this and realized my question
was misleading so I started a new thread.
Let me be more accurate about what's happening. The Manage
Sites window opens fine. When I click the New... or Edit...
buttons, it takes about 20 seconds for the Site Definition window
to open. When using the Edit... button it makes no difference which
of my sites I'm trying to edit. All current sites and a new site
all go thru the same delay. The other buttons - Duplicate, Remove,
Export..., & Import... - all work normally & immediately.
I'd sure like to resolve this problem.
Thanks,
Jim

Are all of your sites on your local computer, or are they on
a remote,
shared network drive?

  • Manage Site window is empty

    Hi!
Usually, when DW 8 start, it shows the default site files
    hierarchy.
This morning it appears display the computers drives and
    network mapping.
When clicking the menu > site > manage sites, it
appears empty, while usually had at least 5 definitions of sites.
Can any one say what happened and how to restore it?
    TIA

Then you either didn't define a site, or there was a windows
    Registry hiccup
    and it disappeared.
    You mentioned the Files Panel.
Are there Files in the DW Files Panel??

  • Remote and Local Site Sync Problems

I have a customer who is using Dreamweaver CS4 on Mac OS X. Dreamweaver is setup to have a local site as our development server(win 2k3) and the remote site as our live web server(win 2k3). The folder structure on both the development and live web server is the same. When you view the path in the manage site window of dreamweaver it shows both remote and local site listed as /Volumes/www/Data. When dreamweaver connects to both of these to sync the files nothing happens since it sees them as the same place.
I have looked in the /Volumes folder on the customers computer and two listings appear for the servers www and www-1. This is not what dreamweaver shows and if you repoint the link to the www-1 folder it just changes back to www.
I have tried to create alias' and symbolic links to distinguish one folder from the other however nothing I seem to change has any effect.
If you use finder on the machine it can distinguish between the two folders I just need to figure out how to make dreamweaver do the same.
Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately no I do not have a solution. I was not able to find out at the time and the problem went away with the migration to a content management system for our web server. Also the Develpment team changed hands and the new people all use windows machines.
Good Luck trying to find a solution.

  • Problem with profiles in the site window

    Hey everyone,
I've been looking all around the web for this and couldn't
    find it.
I have a major problem with DW site window, more specifically
the profiles: it is way too slow !!!!
    1. When i change from a site to another one, it takes up to
    10 sec.
    2. When i want to change the settings of a site it takes up
to 20 sec to open the properties window...same as when I want to
    add a new one.
    3. Sometimes, the login/pass of my FTP acount is forgotten
    and i need to re-enter it !
All the rest is fine and works perfectly as usual, so it may
not look as my PC is involved...
I've tried to uninstall and re-install DW but it does not
work as the profiles may be stored somewhere else and as soon as I
open my new DW, the sites are in !
Can anyone could tell me where are stored those profiles so I
could try to dump all about this and re-install DW.
    Thanks

  • Manage Sites Dialog Box Screen Redraw Problem

Using Dreamweaver CS6.0.1 on Mac Mountain Lion 10.8.2. When I open the "Manage Sites" dialog box, certain parts of the box are not visible unless I wave or click my mouse on that portion of the screen. Really sick of this. Also text entry into design view in Dreamweaver is maddeningly slow. I've got a fast Mac Pro with an SSD and 48 GB of RAM. Seriously would like to find the answers to these problems.

I have Dreamweaver CS6 on a MacBook Air with 4GB of RAM running OS X 10.8.2, and don't experience the problems you relate. However, there are some people on Macs who have been experiencing problems with 100% CPU and slow typing. Apparently these problems have been fixed in the Creative Cloud 12.1 update. If you're not a Creative Cloud subscriber, a fix should be coming shortly. See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1100065.

  • CS4 to CS5 Manage sites problem

I have about 20 sites in the DW CS4 manages sites area, when I go to open sites in DWCS5 some of them do not show up in that manage sites folder.
    Any help?
    rd

Yes, I poked around and did this just before I saw your reply and it worked. What is also happening is
I have the CS4 and CS5  creative suites on my main hard drive. My plan was to go over all the new features in CS5 and then delete the CS4 versions. I notice that i get a lot of crashes as I close out any CS files. I would think this would be because of a preferences and double files and I just need to make sure now that before I delete DW4 from the drive that ALL my settings, prefs and passwords from DW4 are in DW CS5. Is there any other files I should back up before doing this?

  • Problem mit ThinkPad Power Manager Desktop Windows 8.1 Thinkpad W530

    Hallo Zusammen

  • IPod Photo 60G and Windows problems

I am unable to connect my Photo 60G iPod to my current computer.
I can connect it successfully to my laptop, so I know that the fault is not with the iPod or the iPod cord. I can connect my daughter's rather elderly 10G iPod to this current machine successfully, so I know it isn't this computer or the iTunes software.
What I can not do is connect the 60G iPod. When I do, the iPod gets the 'Do Not Disconnect' icon going but then computer usually freezes before opening iTunes and I can only sort it out by shutting off the machine. If I open iTunes first and then connect it, the iPod does not show up and sometimes the 'Do Not Connect' icon comes on and sometimes it doesn't.
If I leave iTunes closed, attach the iPod and then try to access it via the iPod updater in the Programs menu, it either freezes the machine as above or it gives an error message saying I need to restore my iPod (which I clearly don't, as not only is it working perfectly, it also connects fine to the laptop.) In all these instances, if I try to eject it from the USB port by clicking on the icon in the tray to bring up the 'eject safely' box, it will bring up the initial box and then freeze before bringing up the second confirmation box. In all these freezes, it ties up the machine so badly I have to turn it off at source. It will not even allow me to close down using Task Manager.
The iPod does generally show up in Windows, if I get that far and it doesn't freeze the machine before. Often it will then freeze the machine if I try to look at it in Device Manager or Windows Explorer.
I have done the following things to resolve the problem:
    1) Completely removed iTunes and the iPod Updater (numerous times), cleared out all their crap from the seven zillion places it goes on the machine, and re-installed cleanly using only the most up-to-date downloaded versions of both (plus, of course, have also tried the old versions, just in case.) In all instances, my daughter's small iPod works and mine doesn't.
    2) Tried the iPod on every single one of the USB ports on the machine, just in case one wasn't working. (They all are.)
    3) Followed the instructions on these two pages on this site to resolve the problem:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61711
    4) I searched Google Groups, where I found a reference to one problem I was having with the iPod updater which said it could be traced to an issue stemming ultimately from Apple's lack of understanding of the Windows platform and that the software couldn't cope with multiple drives or things not being on the C: drive. I do have my hard disk partitioned and formatted as drives C and D with everything defaulting to D. I would have expected Apple to have fixed this problem by now, as the was in March, so I made sure I have only the latest software, but this hasn't made any difference. I also tried specifically installing it to the C section of my drive but this didn't make any difference either. I suspect this may be a red herring, as if it were a genuine issue, I wouldn't expect my daughter's iPod to work either.
I don't want to be confined to only downloading music to my laptop, which is very old and slow and has a small hard disk. The problem seems to be very specific to the iPod 60G and I'm trying to figure out how it is different from the smaller iPod my daughter has and how to resolve it.
    Any suggestions?

The battery will not charge eithger. I have left it in a computer and ab outlet charger both for 1 hour, but no juice is going to the iPod. Is the cord dead? Or is the battery messed up? What is going on?

  • Sites (in manage sites) missing AND folder unreadable?

All right, so I finally had the dreaded disappearance of all my sites in the "Manage Sites" section of Dreamweaver (CS4/Mac). I've read the notices and see now that it's a bug that's never going to be fixed . . . and, of course, I didn't back up the .ste file 'cause I just didn't see it coming.
That said, I went to start redoing the sites and started by opening the "Files/Assets" window in DW . . . then ran into a strange problem.
All our web sites are stored in the "WEB SITES" folder in the "GRAPHICS" folder on our "BIG HARD DRIVE."
However, when I went to open up some pages in our stored sites, the "GRAPHICS" folder, in the Dreamweaver menu, doesn't show up as a Folder . . it's shows up as a 0k file.  I can go to "file open" and navigate to the GRAPHICS folder, no problem . . .and all the files are there and open up. However, I can't access it through the manage sites part of the "files" window.
    Is this making sense?  I've attached a screen capture . . .
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Stu

I'm pretty sure that they are all lost if you hadn't backed
    up all sites
    previously.....
it's all kept in the registry somewhere, but difficult to
    retrieve I
    believe.
You may find this tool very useful from now on -

  • System Crash - Manage Site?

My processor fried but fortunately no files were lost. I have
mounted the drive that held all the necessary data for the site I'm
working on in a temporary machine. I still have the folder
local_sites, that has all the various folders and html pages
intact. Do I need to use the "manage site" function and create a
"new site" in order to continue working on my project. (local_sites
prior to the crash was in my d: drive...after mounting the drive in
the temp computer it is ow located in the H: drive)
    Help appreciated - David Bird

OK, easiest is to recreate. What's the complicated answer?
I have a similar problem... but I really would like to
restore the information if it is available somewhere, because I
have many sites that will be hard for me to recreate, because they
have non-std setups and because of my poor memory of these sites I
    touch once a year.
Where in the registry is the site definition stuff stored?
    Can I restore it?
My situation is that our server was rebuilt with a new domain
and new domain users created, plus a windows "genuine" fix was made
on my PC, which didn't completely reinstall the OS, but it's more
like a repair, according to my IT guy. My old domain user documents
and settings were saved. Don't know if the registry was backed up
or if it's now too late!
    Thanks!

  • No WebApps in "Manage Site Features"

We have a standalone Sharepoint Foundation Server, Windows 2008, 64bit.
I have installed the Office Web Apps, everything was going fine, no error or such. Even the Products configuration wizzard gave me no errors.
After installing i saw in the "central administration", that the services where already started (in "manage services on the server"). Same at "manage service applications". Everything already was there for excel, word and powerpoint.
My problem is, i cant activate the features on my sites now, because on the "manage site features" i cant see any sign of the WebApps.
I can't open any of the files. In word, there is just a blank site with a header there, telling me in which path i am atm. In Excel i get the message: "An Error have occured. Please try again" I can see the ribbin above tho, but file wont open.
Any idea what i can to or what maybe the mistake is here?

  • Dreamweaver CS6 Hangs Upon Exiting "Manage Sites"

Anytime I edit an existing site or add a new site under "Manage Sites" and click "Done", Dreamweaver will hang with the spinning beach ball for 5-6 minutes.  During that time the app is unusable.  A pretty bad bug.  After the hang time, the app works fine.
    Help?

    I have the same problem.
    Windows 7 x64, 12GB Ram, Dual Xeon 2.66 processors (12 threads)
    Dreamweaver CS6 v12 build 5808.
It will freeze for 3-4 minutes and it is unusable. Then it works as normal. Seems to freeze when I open a file, save or switch between files in the app.
I tried to Disable Dreamweaver's Resolve To IP Address feature:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/hang-opening-document-dreamweaver-cs5.html
    it did not help.

  • My solution (or so I thought) to Power Manager/CPU throttling problems!!!

I have found a solution to all my Power Manager/CPU throttling problems!!! Though there is some good and bad news.
    {EDIT: The problem has NOT been fixed, even after latest PowerManager (3.62) and BIOS (1.30) versions. Pretty much ignore anything I say below as the problem is still occurring. You can see my full post here: http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/W520-Speedstep-not-working-properly-on-battery-...}
Good news:  I have NONE of the throttling issues or inconsistent CPU frequency problems I was having before on AC or battery power.  Everything, including TurboBoost on battery works! It is completely fixed! (I have no idea how this factors into Lenovo’s statements that TurboBoost is disabled on battery “by design”. There is at least one other post from someone else that also reported TurboBoost was working for them on battery)
Bad news: I don’t really know which one of the many things I tried actually worked. I am sorry I wasn’t more methodical about recording what I did and checking results, but this was my last ditch effort to get this fixed on my own without sending the system in for repair and frankly, I didn’t think it would work. Now that it has worked, I’m hoping my steps can help others.
For anyone interested, here’s what I did… and before anyone says something like “That has nothing to do with managing power/cpu, why would that help?!… etc., please keep in mind I’m just stating exactly what I did. I am aware some of the steps may not be relevant, but who knows… We all know how weird PC’s are sometimes, even the smallest, oddest thing may resolve a problem. So anyway, here goes.
**IMPORTANT** Not sure how many noticed, but there was a new version of Power Manager released a few weeks ago, 3.62. The PM driver seems to have stayed the same. That alone could very well be the sole fix, I’m not sure. You may just want to completely remove PM and PM driver and install the latest version before trying any of the steps below.
1)Made a complete system image via Windows built-in backup feature
2)Disable any 3rd party fan/CPU control utilities (Throttlestop, etc). Make sure they are also not going to run at startup or from a   scheduled task
3)Remove Power Manager Driver, then remove Power Manager software
    4)Reboot to Windows
5)Remove all traces of the Power Manager drivers/software directories (think it was something like C:\readyapps and C:\drivers.) **For some odd reason after I did this, my wireless stopped working but it resolved itself by the time I was done with these steps, strange
    6)Reboot
7)Access BIOS and reset all settings to default
8)Boot into Windows, downgrade to BIOS 1.25 [UEFI: 1.25 - 8BET44WW / ECP: 1.14 8AHT32WW ]  via the Windows flash utility. I wanted to downgrade all the way back to 1.06, but the software would throw up some error for any version prior to 1.25 and wouldn’t proceed
9)Reboot to Windows; make sure system booted w/ out issues
10)Reboot again, access BIOS, reset to defaults again
    11)Shut down system
12)Disconnect AC power. Remove main battery. Access and disconnect system backup (a.k.a CMOS) battery under keyboard. Discharge residual power in the system (there are various ways to do this, but you could just leave the battery disconnected for a few minutes).  Visually inspect the system for anything funky…my system had a slightly but noticeably loose CPU/GPU heat sink/fan assembly power connector.
    13)Reconnect backup battery.
14)Reconnect AC power but leave main battery disconnected.
15)Power on. Should get a message indicating “checksum error, system time reset” or something like that.
16)Reboot to Windows. Verified still okay.
17)Downloaded latest BIOS version, 1.26. This time I burned the bootable BIOS flash CD instead of running it through Windows.
18)Restart and boot from disc, flash BIOS to 1.26. Once complete, restart. Verify BIOS set to defaults.
    19)Boot back into Windows.
20)Install latest Power Manager driver (1.62 ), reboot if/as prompted. Install Power Manager (3.62), reboot as prompted.
21)Boot into Windows, verified Power Manager was active and working. Verified TurboBoost was working. Restarted system a few times and played around with Power Manager for a bit to see if the different power plans worked and retained the settings, all the while monitoring the Intel TurboBoost utility and PM’s own “power gauges”. Let system Sleep, changed power sources, resumed, etc. Everything was working great.
22)Shutdown, reconnect main battery. Booted into Windows. Again, fiddled with Power Manager for a bit, switching between power plans and AC/battery power. Still worked great.
    23)Success!
That’s it.  Again, this is not a guaranteed fix guide. These are just simply the steps that I took on my system that resolved the problems many of us are having. Hopefully it will work for others.

    (PM driver)  http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/83ku14ww.exe

I rebooted.... then I went into bios (1.26) and set everything to default... then restarted saving changes...
Since I prefer not using optimus I changed the display settings in bios right after saving the default settings...
Not sure whether or not you really had to go into bios... but everything seems to be working...

    Hi,
You are getting the error because the printer name is greater than 40 characters.
The SAPLPD can only recognize printer names with 40 characters or less.
From the log, i believe you are using the printer BKC_7THFLR_HPCOLOR3800 ON THMUMGDCPS01 (FROM BKCDT1017) IN SESSION 11
but the SAPLPD is recognizing only till BKC_7thFlr_HPColor3800 on THMUMGDCPS01.
Try to change the printer name .. it will work
