DW CS3 Rollover and IE 7.0

I created a simple rollover menu using Insert/Image
Objects/Rollover Image with Dreamweaver into a sliced Fireworks
table. The Firefox Browswer displays this perfectly but IE is
WEIRD.

Any advice what to do to fix this?
Thanks in advance

I thought I did do this within Dreamweaver. I simply used the
dialogue box when creating the rollover image.
Here is the code:
<td><a href="aboutus.html"
onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"
onmouseover="MM_swapImage('1','','images/back2/aboutUs-2.jpg',1)"><img
src="images/header1/aboutUs-1.jpg" alt="About Us" name="1"
width="95" height="24" border="0" id="1" /></a></td>
<td colspan="2"><a href="mychoicechart.html"
onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"
onmouseover="MM_swapImage('2','','images/back2/my-2.jpg',1)"><img
src="images/back2/my-1.jpg" alt="My Choice Chart" name="2"
width="178" height="24" border="0" id="2"

<td colspan="2"><a href="store.html"
onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"
onmouseover="MM_swapImage('3','','images/back2/wholesale-2.jpg',1)"><img

<td><img src="images/header1/header1_r2_c7.jpg"
alt="" name="header1_r2_c7" width="20" height="24" border="0"
id="header1_r2_c7" /></td>
<td colspan="2"><a href="links.html"
onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"
onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image32','','images/back2/our-2.jpg',1)"><img
src="images/back2/our-1.jpg" alt="Our Favorite Links"
name="Image32" width="162" height="24" border="0" id="Image32"
/></a></td>
<td><img src="images/header1/header1_r2_c10.jpg"
alt="" name="header1_r2_c10" width="18" height="24" border="0"
id="header1_r2_c10" /></td>
<td><a href="contact.html"
onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"
onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image33','','images/back2/contact-2.jpg',0)"><img
src="images/back2/contact-1.jpg" alt="Contact Us" name="Image33"

I will try another way and not call the image '1' etc.
Thanks.
I have produced many rollover images as well and am baffled

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Crashed, and now will no longer start back up again..

    I was working on a project today using Cs3, I've had it since spring and it always worked fine until tonight when i was editing a project.. In the middle of my editing the program unexpectedly froze than crashed...
    I then tried to restart it and i got this message which popped up in 4 windows..
    " Sorry a serious error has occurred that required adobe premiere pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project" i then hit ok and it exited completely, i tried to open it again, same thing..
    so then i restarted my computer and i got a different message that said something like i wasn't aloud to use the program anymore and had to reinstall it or cal adobe tech support... so i put the CD in and re-installed it and got the same message when opening the program up again "serious error messages" I then went to the CS3 updates to update it back to version 3.2.0. But still continue to get the error message.
    so something must have happened during my edit that caused it to stop working, but i have no idea what it could be. I even tried to do a System restore..which also got a error message....thanks vista...
    anyways..i can use some help, thanks
    :edit:
    i tried to reinstall Premiere Pro 1.5 since Cs3 was an upgrade.. I reinstalled it then reinstalled Cs3 again, and i still get the "serious error Message" so that didn't work...

    Ok i looked at the Troubleshooting site Eddie gave me, and tried to answer the questions as best i could.
    Never used any Adobe Beta software.
    I freed up a lot of space off of my hard drive, i only had like 5GB-10GB left, but it still worked when having such low space
    I did a disk clean up as well as disk defragment, and moved a lot of high GB files over to my second hard drive. i have over 27GB of free storage left now, its a 150GB hard driver. should i have more?
    I Tried holding down the Shift button, but didn't help
    I tried to open up Encore Cs3 which came with Premiere, i barely ever used this one, but its funny how this wont work either. I think i used it once before and it worked. But it old how none of my Cs3 Programs. never installed On location.
    also this isn't a pirated copy or anything, i bought it as an Upgrade from Amazon back in the spring. Upgrading from Premiere Pro 1.5 which also wasn't pirated, i got that as a gift.
    My older version of Premier, 1.5 still works, and my older versions of Photo shop (CS?) and After effects (6.5) still work. So that's good. Just having a problem with Cs3 :(

    i bought the photoshop cs2 cs3 cs5 and lightroom and lightroom 4. i can't install on may new macbookpro 13inch?

    On which operating system are you trying to install these Adobe apps?
    Please specify the operating system name and version.
    If you have purchased new Macbook Pro, then you should have atleast Mac OSX 10.9 or later. However, i doubt you will be able to install most of these apps on it as they are pretty old apps except CS5 & Lr4.
    Still you can give it a shot and check.
    What happens when you try to install them?
    Do you get any error message? An error screenshot or full text of the error, should be helpful.

  • I am steaming - Thru CS3 - CS4 and now CS5 Fireworks is crap

    All through CS3, CS4 and now CS5 Fireworks on 3 different machines Windows XP, Windows Vista and now Windows 7... simply is a crappily written app. And I have been using Fireworks since Macromedia and these problems have only appeared from Adobe.
    Is it to drive folks to Photoshop? After working on it for about 30 min you get 'low on memory' 'internal error'... it is unconscionable that an application that is so expensive can be written so appallingly. And when you run through the forums you just get tons of complaints about the shoddy code at Adobe.
    All of the computers are stacked with 4GB, this one has 16GB on a blazingly fast Phenom Black but that's not the killer... no other app crashes. Not the little $5 dollar apps, not anything. It is so frustrating. Can't someone buy this place and straighten it out!!! Macromedia was known for ridiculously great code and features.
    Had anyone solved this problem... I here if you login in as Donald Duck it might go away. What kind of nonsense is that?
    Help!

    don't get so steamy. I am on your side and I actually met Adobe marketing VP in Australia and told him that his CS ****, mmm I mean suite is worthless on a Mac at least. He couldn't care less. They don't fix things they market "upgrades" so idiots like you and me will keep on spending. I for instance use Adobe and Macromedia products since mid 90s' and I must say that nothing has changed for me since FW3 or 4 and Photosop 5.5. Illustrator should always stayed simple but they managed to make it so fat it barely moves. Flash also became something it wasn't intended for and it's days are numbered by HTML5. Adobe Acrobat? you must be kidding. I still don't know what the F this is all about. and so on and so on....
    You will grow out of it eventually like I did. It doesn't worth it. Believe me. Just "upgrade" if you must have some feature. I think DW and Flash are the only products that need to be upgraded because of the industry it's linked to (web). the rest are just tools that still do what they did 10 years ago. they are only "integrated" now.
    There are other tools you can use, not many but there are or simply don't upgrade!!! this is the best way for you and I to tell Adobe what we think.

  • Fonts in Indesign CS3 View and Save But Will Not Print

    Hi - this thread has been going a bit elsewhere but I have a bit different symptoms. Just updated from 6.5 Pagemaker to CS3 on a new Vista system. Indesign shows my collection of over 300 fonts, which are installed in the Windows Font folder (and available to and working in all my other programs)and it previews and saves documents with them correctly. But when I go to print I get the famous "font not installed" message. I check the pull down - and they are all there on the command bar. But when I go direct to the folder - only one arial font is there. OK, so I try copying, or moving the font files from the windows folder to the Adobe Fonts folder, and Vista won't let me. It grays out all option paths. HELP! And please, after reading the other threads - don't tell me I have to go in and rename each of these 300 fonts. Actually, I am not a programmer and have not the least idea why this is but for the cost of this software - there must be a patch? Or, I hope - it is simply that I am doing something myself very dumb? PS - I have Microsoft Word and Office 1997 on the system so its not the "2003 or newer" answer - as well as fonts I have purchased both before and after 2003 or 2006! Help! I'm dead in the water here. Mike P.

    Hi Guys - here are the answers to your questions...
    1- I have no font manager installed that I am aware of - I have all the Adobe CS3 Indesign, Photoshop and Utlitites - but unless it came packed in there, I just loaded straight over a new computer with a new Vista.
    2- I tried to export to eps or PDF and print - same thing - it showed the font correctly, named it corectly, but then when I hit the button it came up "font missing" and refused to save or print.
    3- I did not delete any files, but Dominic - I did a search and could not find adobefnt.db or fntnames.db on the computer? Is it possible I need to find these on the CS3 disc and copy them in? Under what folder?
    4- when I click on the fonts under font find - again, they are correctly viewed and named, but the path comes up empty. No clue as to where they are housed. And they are not in the empty Adobe fonts folder.
    Thanks guys. Anything here helpful?
    Mike P.

  • Indesign CS3, 5 and 5.5 are installed, but only CS3 will open

    Indesign CS3, 5 and 5.5 are installed, but only CS3 will open. CS 5 and 5.5 versions seem to be opening but then "quit unexpectedly." Any ideas on how to get 5.5 to open and to be default version? Thanks!

    OS 10.6.8, we are in a college marketing office, and another in the office has the same setup, also with the 3 versions of InDesign. He's not having this problem. This has been a problem on this iMac since 5 and then 5.5 were installed.
    What happens is that when you open the applications from the dock or applications folder, 5 and 5.5 seem like they're opening, but then the "quit unexpectedly" message. Here are screen shots: Thanks for any clue to this odd behavior.

  • File size comparisons, InDesign CS3, CS4 and CS5?

    Hi, all.
    It seems there was a trend for several major releases where each time Adobe released a new version of InDesign and InCopy, average file sizes grew by 20% or so from the old release to the new release, at least back in the older CS days. Has this trend continued, such that file sizes in CS4 are substantially larger than file sizes from CS3, and CS5 files are substantially larger than those from CS4?
    Adobe, of course, wants to keep writing functionality that will keep the user community coming back to buy in to upgrades. The added functionality sometimes comes at a cost beyond the price tag. If file sizes are larger in a newer version, then page saves over a network or to a database are likely to be slower, and user productivity takes a hit while users are waiting for files to be saved.
    Has anyone done any testing to build the "same" page in multiple versions of InDesign to understand what the effect is on the file sizes? I'm specifically interested in the file sizes between InDesign CS3, CS4 and CS5. To be meaningful, the test page would have to be at least moderately complex, with a couple of photos, multiple text elements and so forth. By "same," the page wouldn't take advantage of new functionality in newer versions but would be saved as a native page of the current version, though the file sizes may be bloated by the new functionality like it or not.
    If you've done any testing along these lines, I'd like to hear more about it.
    Thanks.
       Mark

    The overall structure of ID's files have been exactly the same for -- as far as I can see back -- CS. No change at all, in there.
    There have been significant additions to the 'global' spaces; stuff like InCopy user data, table styles, object styles, and cross references. Each of these add a major chunk of data to each file, whether you use it or not, plus a few bytes per object (again, whether you use them or not -- ID also needs to know where you did not use them, that's why). I think these might be the main source of 'global' file size increase (a single object style in one of my files, for example, eats up a healthy chunk of 11,482 bytes).
    For the rest, all new stuff like 'span columns' is a handful of bytes per paragraph style. Tracking changes may very well double the size of text runs -- but 1 character takes up 1 byte of storage (plus perhaps some overhead of indicating its 'tracking' status). Any single measurement unit always uses 8 bytes at least (for example, the left inset for a column span -- even if it's not used, or set to 0pt).
    I think we're talking about a couple of K's here (oh -- perhaps a max of a hundred or so), in a file format that has been designed around the concept of "disk pages", each 4K big, meaning that sometimes adding one single character to a text box increases the file size by 4 K.
    Your idea of comparing the size of a file created in CS3 against the same saved as CS4 and as CS5 is certainly feasible -- I might try it some time, just to confirm it's purely the extra 'new objects' data that accounts for the size increase and to confirm my guesstimates of the number of Ks involved.

  • What is rollover and its concept in sql server ? And what is the concept of IAO?

    would someone please tell me what is rollover and what is its concept?
    another question is what is IAO in sql server?
    Thanks in advance
    sqlfan

    Hi sqlfan,
    Question 1: what is rollover and what is its concept?
    In SQL Server, when we set a maximum file size for a trace file there is an option called rollover. The file rollover option causes SQL Server to close the current trace file and create a new file when the maximum file size is reached. With the file rollover
    option on, the trace continues until it is stopped by some other means. And we can disable the file rollover option to stop the trace after we have reached the file size limit. For more information about this option, please refer to the following article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191206.aspx
    Question 2: what is IAO in sql server?
    Base on my research, IAO may stand for Information Awareness Office (IAO), which is created in response to the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, is a branch of the United States Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA) that aims to gather massive amounts
    of intelligence through electronic sources in order to help avert terrorist acts in the future. It may not have direct relationship with SQL Server.
    If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.
    Regards,
    Jerry Li

  • I give up! Can I send someone the ID CS3 file and print file for Help

    I have done everything I possibly can (given I am no where near expert), and can not figure this printing out.
    I have a food menu that is on 11 x 17 (will be tri fold) ID file with a border. The border is a "Placed" PSD file into a separate ID layer.
    Even though it looks perfect on the screen, I can not get it to print properly using an Epson Stylus 1400 series printer (wide body).
    The border does not print correctly.
    I can (and will if you want), print the menu to a file and send it to someone (along with the ID CS3 file and PSD file) to see if someone can tell me what stupid things I am doing.
    I also believe I can print to a file, then bring the printed file up on the screen and do a Snagit Screen Grab to upload to pixentral.com If this is possible, you will see how the border did not print correctly. I would also take a screen grab of the ID CS3 menu file so you can see how the border is perfect.
    I am hoping someone with a wide body printer can load 11 x 17 paper and try to see what I am doing wrong. I am printing it on 11 x 17, landscape, centered borderless stock and it looks good in preview mode.
    Any and all help would be appreciated. At least I don't have those OOLLM phantom lines like I did on my last plea for help.
    Bob

    Hmmm.
    Looking at the last picture, I see what is going to be a bit of a problem for you, I think. Do you really have a thin red line around the outside of the yellow border?
    Here's how bleeds work, and why they are set up the way they are. Printing, and more importantly, trimming, is done on mechanical equipment. Paper sizes may or may not be entirely uniform in a stack, or there may be minor alignment issues when jogging the stack, or there may be dust build-up, or any number of other little things that conspire to keep a stack of prints from being 100% perfectly aligned with each other, or a cutter setting may be off by a few thousandths of an inch making the trim larger than intended. In such cases there is a possibility that color intended to run all the way to the edge of the page may in fact stop short of the trimmed edge, leaving the paper showing.
    To hide this, and that's all you are doing, hiding misalignments, areas of color at the edge of the page are extended beyond the page boundary, typically 1/8" in the US, so that the excess color will fill what would otherwise be a blank area after trimming. InDesign Allows you to set up a "Bleed Area" in the document setup, which adds a colored guide around the page for easy reference, and also allows you to check the "use Bleed Area" checkbox in the print dialog so you don't need to specify it manually.
    Now for why that narrow red line is a problem, if it is really there. Printing presses typically can maintain sheet to sheet registration that is very accurate, but desktop printers are often off by as much as 1/16" in either direction from sheet to sheet. Further, there can be some paper stretching during the printing process, and the aforementioned dust build-up or slight errors in cutter setup, which can cause the paper to be trimmed slightly inside the intended mark. Also consider that if the paper is cut outside the mark on one edge, it will be cut the same distance inside on the opposite side.
    So, if you have a thin line on the edge of the page, you need to be very accurate in both sheet-to-sheet registration AND in cutter setup or you risk cutting off the line on one or two edges completely, and leaving more than you planned on the opposite edges. The thinner the border is, the greater the risk of cutting it off, and the more small differences in position will show. (The difference between 1/16 and 1/8 is much more obvious than the difference between 1/16 and 3/8 )
    As a corollary, jobs that bleed need to have a safe zone, or "live area" that is smaller than the page dimension by at least the amount of the bleed allowance all around so that trimming at the outside of the bleed on one edge doesn't end up cutting off something important on the opposite edge. The easiest way I can think of to visualize this is to think of trimming as if you were putting an open frame the finished size on top of the print, and you move it around so that the hole exposes more on one edge while hiding the opposite edge the same amount.

    I have a PC running Windows XP (yes an antique) with CS3 Photoshop and InDesign and lightroom 2 (yes all antiques). I have acquired a PC running Windows 7 with no programs. I also have a MacBook pro  with full CS5 suite. The programs were already loaded with I got it as a gift. Question 1. If I find serial numbers used to download programs to the old PC, can those CS3 programs be put on the newer PC. Question 2. I really want to put CS5 suite on PC machines. Is that possible? Especially since my MacBook is showing some hard drive problems.

    You should be able to get the CS3 programs installed and running on the new pc since CS3 is spec-ed for Windows 7 Service Pack 1.  Downloading the programs does not require a serial number.  You can find them here:  Download CS3 products  but you will need the serial number to activate the programs.  You might be able to find that thru your Adobe account online.
    You will not be able to install the CS5 Mac version on a PC and you won't be able to trade it to a PC version either due to it being an older version.  Trades are allowed only for the latest version (CS6)

    Hi
    I want to use the function DrawArt of AIDrawArtSuite.
    To use this function, I must have an AIDrawArtGWorld or an AIDrawArtAGMPort or an AIDrawArtAGMPoirtV6 object.
    With CS6 SDK, this suite provides a mean to instantiate an AIAGMPort.
    With CS3, CS4 and CS5 this function doesn't exist.
    On MacOS X, I can build AIDrawArtGWorld.
    On Windows, I don't know how to do it.

    Can i install CS3 Indesign and Photoshop on mac OSX10.8.4? Or do I have to update and can I purchase updates from Adobe? If I can, how much are they?

    Yes, should be no problem.
    According to the box that came with my copy of CS3 the requirements are "PowerPC G4 or G5 or multicore Intel processor, Mac OSX 10.4.8 or above.
    I loaded it onto my new Mac running Mountain Lion with no problems at all and it runs perfectly. InDesign used to crash occasionally under Tiger but has never crashed under Mountain Lion.

  • Owners PS CS3/4 and LR 2.x raw processing

    Bearing in mind the number of issues being reported about LR 2.x.
    Which would be the preferred program, for owners of both PS CS3/4 and LR 2.x, in carrying out their raw conversion, ACR or LR Develop Module.

    I'm using Lightroom 2.2 with Photoshop CS3. Since I started using this combination I find that I use ACR very little, at least directly. But when I transfer images from Lightroom to Photoshop ACR actually "interprets" the raw settings even though it does not open directly. Fortunately, ACR 4.6 will read all of the fine point to adjustments although there is no way to modify the new ones like the adjustment brush and the gradual filter. As Photoshop continues to evolve and new features are added, my version of ACR is going to fall behind.
    You may not be aware of this, but Lightroom 2.2 behaves a little differently when you have Photoshop CS3 or later. Lightroom will pass the raw image data directly to Photoshop without first creating the TIF image. That's where Camera Raw comes into play. As my Photoshop continues to fall further behind I will find it necessary to export TIF images in order to pass the Lightroom edits on to Photoshop. But that doesn't bother me.
    Personally, I think if you are satisfied with your present workflow everything should be just fine. It's just that the workflow can be a little smoother if you have the current version of the Photoshop as well.
