DW Uploads HTML Header only ??

I have been using Dreamweaver MX2004 for a few years to
maintain a school web site. It has always performed well but
recently I find that when I upload an HTML and check it on the web
site, I find that the file only contains the HTML header
information!
In order to test this I have produced a new, very basic HTML
file in DW with only a single item of text in it, but this still
appears on the web site as just the html header information.
However, I can upload files using a basic FTP program
(coffeecup) with no problems.
Please help
Dave

Sure looks like they are set up the same.
In DW, create a file with a nonsense name, and upload it.
Then look at the
files found in the /web/ folder. Do you see this nonsense
named file there?

  • Powershell, design manager, uploading html file not creating associated master page file

    I am uploading a xyz.html file through powershell for 2 site collections, when .html file is uploaded and published it automatically creates xyz.master file. It is working fine for not publishing sites collection only, for publishing site collection .html file
    is uploaded successfully but it is not creating associated .master file. If I close powershell console and run again it works successfully.
    another interesting thing I noticed that if I specify "spadmin" account which I used to install sharepoint as  site collection primary administrator, all works well, currently I am using "spsiteCollection" account for primary site collection
    administrator and I am having above mentioned issue.
    powershell script is also running with spadmin account.
    I have ensured .html is checked in and publish properly, If I manually unpublish and publish .html file it creates .mater file. What could be the issue?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about upload html file to master page gallery.
    I have used the PowerShell contains in the codeplex to upload the files to master page gallery, it works without any issue.
    https://uploadmasterpages.codeplex.com/
    You can check your PowerShell with this article, or use this bat file to upload directly to check whether it works.
    Thanks,

  • Is there a limit to amount of code that can be added to the HTML Header?

    I've got several javascript functions in the HTML Header section of the page attributes. I recently added another function and now receive an HTTP 404 Not Found error at runtime when navigating to the page. When I remove the function the error is gone. I don't think there is anything wrong with the function because even when I copy and rename an existing working function, this error occurs...as if I've exceeded some size limit. Any ideas?

    I now have a better understanding after reading this thread: Javascript as static file or on filesystem?
    As the post indicates, there are essentially two ways of including a .js file:
    1) upload as static file to the workspace or application and refer to it using the #APP_IMAGES# or #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# tag.
    2) put it on the webserver as a file on the filesystem under the images directory and refer to it using the #IMAGE_PREFIX# tag.
    For now (since I don't have permissions to the file server directory) I have created a .js file and uploaded it as a static file in Shared Components. I referenced the file as below, but when I go the page at runtime, none of my functions are being utilized. Is it because the web server is not using this static file yet because of caching? Does it need to be restarted in order to start using the uploaded js file?
    <script type="text/javascript" src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#apex_selection_criteria_page.js">

  • Limit to HTML Header text in APEX Page

    I have an APEX page that has a fairly large amount of javascript in the HTML header. After I added some more, the page blows up. Is there a limit to how much you can add. It doesn't look like Page 0 has the limitation. Is there one one on either?
    What is the best way around this? Adding the individual page javascript to Page 0 or creating a .js that gets included on that page only.
    Thanks!

    Large page sizes will DESTROY your perceived performance. High performance apps go way out of their way to improve page load times by:
    - Minifying or compressing javasript
    - Making sure it is cache-able
    - Loading the minimum amount of javascript you need for the page to function, then "lazy loading" (background loading) the rest
    - Lazy loading all of the JavaScript files you need for the app on the login page or first page to cache them
    - Using gzip compression in the app server
    - Using a Content Delivery Network (CDN)
    - Reducing HTML size using CSS and other techniques
    - Reducing the number of network requests for images using CSS sprites. (more info here: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/04/27/the-mystery-of-css-sprites-techniques-tools-and-tutorials/ )
    Storing JavaScript in the head of the page flies in the face of almost everyone of those concepts. Have a look at this if you have time:

  • JLabel with HTML visible only for the first time

    I've implemented a really simple applet:
    public class TestApplet extends JApplet {
      @Override
      public void init() {
        try {
          SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(new Runnable() {
            public void run() {
              JPanel topPanel = new JPanel();
              topPanel.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
              getContentPane().add(topPanel);
              JLabel labelHello = new JLabel("<html>Hello World!</html>");
              topPanel.add(labelHello, BorderLayout.NORTH);
              JLabel labelHelloNoHTML = new JLabel("Hello World - without html!");
              topPanel.add(labelHelloNoHTML, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
        } catch (Exception e) {
          System.err.println("Couldn't initialize GUI");
    }And there are two html pages, both having the same applet and a link referring to each other:
    index.html
    <html>
           <head><title>Applet</title></head>
           <body>
                  <div><a href="link.html">Link</a></div>
                  <div>
                        <applet hspace="0" height="375" align="left" width="600" vspace="0" mayscript="" alt="GetJava" codebase="./"
                        code="com.test.TestApplet" name="TestApplet"></applet>
                  </div>
           </body>
    </html>link.html
    <html>
           <head><title>Applet</title></head>
           <body>
                  <div><a href="index.html">Link</a></div>
                  <div>
                        <applet hspace="0" height="375" align="left" width="600" vspace="0" mayscript="" alt="GetJava" codebase="./"
                        code="com.test.TestApplet" name="TestApplet"></applet>
                  </div>
           </body>
    </html>Now when I navigate to index.html the applet shows correctly both labels but in case I jump to link.html the applet shows only the second label i.e. Hello World - without html! . This seems to be specific to Java version 1.6.0_21 and 1.6.0_22, it was working properly in 1.6.0_17. Is anyone else experiencing similar issue or am I missing something?

    I am having this exact same issue. I have a JLabel with <html> for superscript in my JApplet. The first time I run my applet it displays fine. All subsequent times (refresh the page, or close the tab then open again) the JLabel with <html> doesn't show. This issue does NOT occur in the Eclipse Applet Viewer, but does occur with Google Chrome9 and IE8.
    I spent forever checking my methods and changing things trying to figure out why all the other labels show. Never would have guessed <html> in a JLabel would make it not display. This is terrible bug. Please fix ASAP.

  • Is there a CLI version of upload.html

    The subject says it all. Is there a CLI method that is the equivalent of the Blob upload utility - something that can take a pointer to a directory, say Solaris_10/Product or a list of local patches, and upload the contents into a defined channel? (I know Perl / C & Java ... I don't know python)
    The upload.html utility has the unfortunate requirement that I stay connected, and lynx doesn't support javascript, so I cannot do it that way, but if there was a command line version - then I can "set it and forget it"
    Thanks

    The command line interface for UCE, uce_cli+, can upload files using the "-upload_files" option. However it can only upload a single file so you would need to run a directory listing through a looped script.

  • Should there be a difference between javascript in HTML Header vs js file?

    Application Express 3.2.1.00.10
    I'm finding that IE shows javascript errors when I refer to functions contained in a js file (uploaded as static file) referenced in the HTML Header versus copying the exact same code and keeping it in HTML Header. I can't seem to pinpoint it. Could it be that the APEX javascript API's (e.g. htmldb_Get, $x, $v, etc) that I reference in my functions will not work in external js file?
    The HTML Header is:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#my_file.js></script>
    {code}
    but if i copy the code out of the file and change the HTML Header to this i get some kind of errors:
    {code}
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    .....all my functions here
    // -->
    </script>
    {code}

    Hello,
    >> Could it be that the APEX javascript API's (e.g. htmldb_Get, $x, $v, etc) that I reference in my functions will not work in external js file?
    No it couldn’t. First, the APEX JavaScript APIs are also stored in external files. Secondly, the origin of the JavaScript code shouldn’t matter, it’s the actual code that count.
    You didn’t specify any error message you received so it’s to pinpoint you problem, but in general, the main difference between external JavaScript code and a inline code is that external code can’t use substitution strings in the format of ‘&ITEM.’ (because the APEX engine doesn’t get the chance to perform the substitution). Other than that, the code should be identical.
    You mentioned a specific APEX built-in JavaScript functions. You should also check that these libraries are loaded correctly into you page.

    Arie.

  • HTML HEADER - SIZE

    Is there a limit on javascript you can put in html header?
    This is what I am doing. I write code in textpad and then copy into html header (for alignment... that way its easy to debug). I added some code and try to save but its not allowing me to save. And then I subtracted.. added code.. (many times) and in present scene i came up with this question.
    I dont really think that could be the case.. but just wanted to make sure before I start touching other pieces of application and settings.

    Hello,
    Ok there is no javascript issue.
    Your window is opening to http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=&APP_ID.:2:::::MYNAME: . notice the &APP_ID.
    Your substitution tag &APP_ID. will not substitute in a js file. Only if it's in the page so what you are going to want to do is provide the url as a parameter in your onclick on the page like this.
    onclick="openpage('http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=&APP_ID.:2:::::MYNAME:')"
    So that that proper substitutions are happening.
    This was pretty easy to figure out on the popup page all I had to do was right click on the page and look at the page location. It's one of the first things you should do when you go to a broken page as many times as in this case the url was just wrong.

    I want to upload HTML code from an existing site and then revise in Muse. Is this possible?

    HTML files from an existing site cannot be reused in Muse as Muse works only with files having extension as .muse.
    However, you use apps like Dreamweaver to edit your existing HTML files.

  • Page Attribute HTML Header on Page 0

    Why is there no HTML Header section on Page 0? Seems that this would be an ideal place to define my page stlye to apply to all pages. I'm trying to increase the font-size to 14 for all my pages. Instead of doing it on each page, I thought it would more efficient to do it on Page 0, but I don't see an HTML Header section. Perhaps there's an easier way that I'm missing?

    Hi -
    You could add another css, but the cheap way is to download the existing css, find the class or classes that include the font size you'd like to bump up, and edit the css to change them. Then upload the changed css back up to your app.
    BTW a web development tool like the free Web Developer extension for Firefox (there are others) can be invaluable for identifying how css is styling a given object on your web page.
    Good luck.

  • Page 0 : HTML Header : Javascript

    Hello,
    I've written a little bit of Javascript that pops up a custom window.
    Now, I can put this in the html header of an individual page and it works.
    However, I thought that I could put this in the html header of page 0 and it would then be inherited by every other page in the application.
    This would then mean if I needed to change it, I could change one reference, as opposed to one reference per page.
    It would also mean I could keep all my javascript in one place.
    This doesn't work for me, does this mean that only page items are inherited onto every page?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Page 0 will not replicate JavaScript code in the HTML header page or the On Load section. It will replicate JavaScript code within a region's HTML header or footer.
    However, I don't think using page 0 to make JavaScript code available to all pages is the right way to go. The "best practice" is to maintain an external JavaScript code file, and load it on every page using the page template. This is the technique the APEX builder using to load its built-in JavaScript functions. In the Header section of your relevant page template, just add something similar to the following:
    <script src="/i/javascript/MyScripts.js" type="text/javascript"></script>This will give you all the benefits you mentioned in your post.

    Arie.

    Jesh:
    I have made the following modifications to your app to get it to work as I thing you need it to.
    1) Changed the source for the HTML Buttons Region(note use of id vs name for the Buttons)
    <script>
    function hilitebtn(val) {
    //gray buttons
    $x('graduate').style.backgroundColor='gray'
    $x('distance').style.backgroundColor='gray'
    $x('career').style.backgroundColor='gray'
    $x('photo').style.backgroundColor='gray'
    //AJAX call to get project-ids
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=GETPROJECTS',0);
    get.addParam('x01',val)
    gReturn = get.get();
    var arr=gReturn.split(':');  //dump into array
    get = null;
    for (i=0;i<arr.length;i++) {
    // alert('val=' + arr);
    if ( arr[i]==5)
    $x('graduate').style.backgroundColor='red';
    if ( arr[i]==6)
    $x('distance').style.backgroundColor='red';
    if ( arr[i]==7)
    $x('career').style.backgroundColor='red';
    if ( arr[i]==8)
    $x('photo').style.backgroundColor='red';
    </script>
    <table cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' border='0'>
    <tr><td>
    <input type='button' id='graduate' value='Graduate'>
    </td>
    <td>
    <input type='button' id='distance' value='Distance'>
    </td>
    <td>
    <input type='button' id='career' value='Career/Tech'>
    </td>
    <td>
    <input type='button' id='photo' value='Photos'>
    </td>
    </tr></table>
    2) Defined the application process  GETPROJECTS as DECLARE
    IDS varchar2(1000);
    l_act_code varchar2(100) :=4;
    begin
    IDS:='';
    l_act_code := wwv_flow.g_x01;
    for x in(
    SELECT ACT_CODE,PROJECT_ID
    FROM ASQ_CONTACT
    where ACT_CODE = l_act_code)
    LOOP
    IDS := IDS || X.PROJECT_ID|| ':' ;
    END LOOP;
    HTP.PRN(IDS);
    END;
    3) Changed the 'onchange' event-handler on p1_act_code to be 'onchange=hilitebtn(this.value)'
    4) Added the JS to the HTML Page Footer <script>
    hilitebtn($v('P1_ACT_CODE'));
    </SCRIPT>
