DWM + useless gap patch not creating horizontal gaps

Can anyone give me a hand with the uselessgap patch? I'm using version 5.9 found here: dwm.suckless.org/patches/uselessgap.
I've applied it but it doesn't seem to be making any gaps horizontally. This is the only patch I've installed thus far. Here is what the patch is producing:

One of the goals of the DWM devs is to keep DWM's base source code at  2000 single lines of code or fewer.  Anytime you see a patch in which lines are inserted or replaced beyond the 2000-line mark, the patch was probably built against a previously patched DWM configuration.
So Unia probably built that patch against the rest of his configuration; that is, he may have other patches to his config that were intended to be applied before that one, which would move the relevant code to a different point than where it exists in your dwm.c file.  Usually, if only one or two hunks fail in the patching process, you can just open the target file (dwm.c in this case), do a search to find the lines the patch file mentions, and insert or replace them manually, then try building DWM to see if it works properly.  Give that a shot; learning to patch DWM by hand is a good skill to practice, and since there are only a few characters in this case, it's as good a test case as any.

  • ScrollPane will not create Horizontal Scrollbar

    Hi,
    I have a JTable that I add to a JScrollPane. The Vertical scrollbars show up fine but I can't seem to get the horizontal scrollbars to appear. Is there something that I am doing wrong or is there a way to force the scrollbars to appear.
    Thanks!
    public void drawContractPanel() {
    SearchEvent searchEvent = SearchEvent.getInstance();
    searchEvent.setDealerList(dealers);
    searchEvent.setStatusList(statuses);
    String [] arrayDealers = searchEvent.getSelectedDealers();
    String [] arrayStatus = searchEvent.getSelectedStatuses();
    summaryTableModel.setQuery(arrayDealers, arrayStatus);
    contractTable.setSelectionMode(ListSelectionModel.SINGLE_SELECTION);
    contractTable.setPreferredScrollableViewportSize(new Dimension(694, 135));
    saveAdapter = new SaveAdapter();
    contractTable.addMouseListener(saveAdapter);
    contractScrollPane.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(800, 140));
    contractScrollPane.setBounds(24, 340, 800, 140);
    contractScrollPane.setVisible(true);
    summaryTableModel.fireTableChanged(null);
    getContentPane().add(contractScrollPane);
    getContentPane().invalidate();
    getContentPane().validate();
    }

    You may be running into the problem of having the table resize the widths of the columns in order to make it fit into alloted viewport size. Try this line of code to make sure that the table columns remain at their preferred size.
    contractTable.setAutoResizeMode(JTable.AUTO_RESIZE_OFF);If The widths of your columns are larger than the viewport of your scrollpane, this should give you the horizontal scrollbar you are after.

  • PE12: how can I create a gap in timeline?

    In Expert timeline, is there a way to create a gap, so that copies of other clips on the timeline can be copied into it without covering other clips?
    The objective is to insert a series of very short-duration copies of various clips to create a section with multiple quick changes from one image to another.
    I have been using a workaround (insert black screen, then copy and paste clips from the timeline over it) but this is very tedious and inefficient, adding extra steps to the process.
    I have so much stuff in the timeline that lassoing and dragging everything back and forth is even less efficient.  And sometimes causes crashes.

    VDOS,
    Thanks.  This would be good but I have a ton of stuff on the timeline and when I do a lasso-drag operation half the time the program crashes.  Also I'm trying to avoid all the selecting and dragging--very time consuming.
    Actually for my specific question I found the answer last night:
    1. Copy clip(s) that need to be copied onto different a timeline location (Ctrl-C).
    2 Put CTI at target location on timeline,
    3. Shift-Ctrl-V
    This will copy the clips to the CTI location, sliding everything to the right to make room.
    As you note, if you have anything on any other track PE12 will chop it up and shift it, which I have learned the hard way.  So I have had to remove the sound track, to be put in later.  I consider this to be very poor design; there are countless situations in which the sound track is essentially background music which has absolutely no specific connection to any specific scene or clip, and failure to allow for an override of the synchronizing feature is very poor design.
    It seems that to simply create a gap for whatever reason, maybe the quickest way is
    1. Put CTI at target location for gap
    2. Create Black Screen
    3. Insert Black Screen to Timeline.  Everything will slide right to accomodate.
    4. R click Black Screen, choose Delete.  Screen will be deleted, leaving a gap.
    5. Clear Black Screen from Project Assets (to avoid filling up that area with useless junk).  Or leave it if you think you'll use it again.
    This can be a convenient marker for quickly finding some area or clip that you need to work on later.  Or for indicating areas that you want to export later.

  • Why inserting audio creates a gap in my video ?

    Hi,
    I try to insert a short audio mp3 bakcground music in my work.
    I try to insert it several times because it is short and I need it repeat.
    So I insert it once at begining of my work. When I insert it a second time, it will create a gap between the end of previous audio piece, and its own end.
    Why on earth does it does this ? Why audio can break video ? This turns me mad, please tell me how can I insert audio files without destroying my video ?
    Thanks,
    Uglook

    Are you trying to put it onto the Audio 1 track? If so after the insert (that creates the gap) you will need to break the video/audio link by right-clicking the audio track and selecting 'Unlink Audio and Video'. With the link broken you can then move just the video clips to fill the gap.
    If you are not already using the 'Soundtrack' track for something else that would be the better place to add your mp3 clip.

  • Why does pan and zoom create a gap in the video?

    I am using pan and zoom to move around still pictures with Premiere Elements 10.0.
    When I create the frames and pans in the picture and return to the timeline, PE has inserted a blank gap after the next cut in the video. The pictures are on a separate video track. The gap is just gray and I can't delete and close the gap. When I right-click the gap the Delete and Close Gap popup button is grayed out and cannot be clicked. I'm being very careful to make all of the hold durations plus the pan durations for all frames add up to be the exact length of the original still picture I'm using. Nothing I try seems to get around this problem.
    Any suggestions will be greatly apprecieated.
    Thanks.

    I do not recall reading of a Bug in the program, that would create a gap. It would be more likely, that something is being done in the editing, that is creating the gap.
    Having a Title on a Video Track "above" the Clips (Video, or Still), is the normal method of doing an overlay Title, that will appear above the Clips, and display as a superimposition of the Title over the Clip.
    Now, when editing, one can control how the editing operation affects existing Clips on the Timeline. For instance, if one wishes to edit, or add material, and have that "ripple" all the existing material, then that is the default editing function. If they, instead, wish to have the edit, or the additional material "replace" Frames in the existing material, then this is done by holding down the Ctrl modifier key. It all depends on what the user requires to happen.
    Good luck,

  • Soundbooth creates a gap in mp3 files

    I've listened to these original files over and over in Quicktime and iTunes and there is no gap. After opening in SB (CS4) there is now a gap and  a  repeating segment: http://96.0.181.107/soundbooth.jpg
    Playing and listening to the mp3 in SB, there is clearly now  a gap and repeat segment (marker 3.2)
    Tried just deleting the gap but I don't know how to match up the repeating section (SB beginner)
    What gives? Why is SB creating this gap in some files (not all)  and how to avoid it?
    OS 10.8.5 | 2 2.66Ghz dual core intel xeon | Soundbooth CS4

    This is a random anomaly. I used to see it on my MacBook running Snow Leopard and with CS4 and CS5. I never was able to dstermine a cause, but I always worked with "scratch files" so when it happened, I could go back to the original and start over. I haven't seen it yet with Audition, but I haven't done nearly as much editing with Audition as I did with Soundbooth.

  • Return key not creating a new line when using the horizontal text tool

    Going through the adobe after effects 'classroom in a book' examples - when writing a line of single line using the horizontal text tool pressing return does not create the next line underneath, the cursor stays on the same line?
    Anybody out there had this problem?

    Hi Bill
    Thanks for replying!
    My OS is windows 7. I think it is the first time I have needed to put more than one line of text in an after effects layer. I am new to CS5.5 - after effects and I'm going through an adobe tutorial  'classroom in a book' series book.
    I thought about using a paragraph text box as you suggest but could not find the function in the tools menu.
    I have since tried clearing the cache out and restoring default layout but with no joy.
    I have used the return key for multiple line text in premier pro and it works perfectly ok.

  • Deskjet F4480: what causes horizontal gaps when printing from the web?

    I just installed a Deskjet F4480 printer. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.  Printing a word-processing document works just fine - no problems.  Printing from a web page, however, produces horizontal streaks or gaps in the print.  The bottom of some lines is clipped off.  How can I correct this?

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for the suggestion, I tried USB, Ethernet and FAXing in a document.   All three print with the horizontal gaps.    The funny thing is that the copy (both color and blk/white) print out just fine.     I've run the available maintance functions serveral times, with no improvements.       I wound up purchasing another Canon Printer, because of being a need to print bind.   But would still like to get this one working, as I was very statisfied with it.
    Thanks, Roman...

  • Sequence creating large gaps than expected

    Oracle 11g, windows server2008
    Hi
    How can I find out which table columns used a sequence in my database (in past 2 or 3 days for example)
    This is needed because the sequence increments by 1 BUT while doing a query on table column which use this sequence, it was found that large gaps are being produced in between the numbers in the table column using this sequence.
    The cache is 20 .
    We dont need consecutive numbers, just curious why the sequence is producing bigger gaps than expected.
    What are the reasons for  the sequence cache being cleared, other than shutdown,rollback&export/import of the database?
    The gap is not uniform , sometimes there is a gap of 20.. sometimes 17 or 100, i.e uneven numbers with no pattern..and while searching the codes,packages etc, to see where the sequence is being used, its only this one table column  but there culd be some other column using this, so would like to know that and that could be the reason why the sequence is having large gaps like this.
    (E.g. for producing a 100 records, it used 1000 numbers etc..)
    Thanks very much

    You have the syntax for turning on the audit, the same reference manual that documents that also documents how to turn it off

    Here's a bit of fatherly advice to help you in your career.  When you are given a clue like a particular sql statement, or mention of a feature like 'audit', spend a bit of time in the documentation to see what you can learn of it - before coming back and asking more about it.
    =================================================
    Learning how to look things up in the documentation is time well spent investing in your career.  To that end, you should drop everything else you are doing and do the following:
    Go to  docs.oracle.com.
    Locate the link for your Oracle product and version, and click on it.
    You are now at the entire documentation set for your selected Oracle product and version.
    BOOKMARK THAT LOCATION
    Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what is available here. Take special note of the "books" and "search" tabs. Under the "books" tab (for 10.x) or the "Master Book List" link (for 11.x) you will find the complete documentation library.
    Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what kind of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
    Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what kind of information is available there.
    Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
    Do the same with the Utilities manual.
    You don't have to read the above in depth.  They are reference manuals.  Just get familiar with what is there to be referenced. Ninety percent of the questions asked on this forum can be answered in less than 5 minutes by simply searching one of the above manuals.
    Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
    - *Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual*.
    - Take a look in your alert log.  One of the first things listed at startup is the initialization parms with non-default values. Read up on each one of them (listed in your alert log) in the Reference Manual.
    - Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files. Go to the Network Administrators manual and read up on everything you see in those files.
    - *When you have finished reading the Concepts Manual, do it again*.

    The product images on certain websites i go to on my ipad do not appear (ie. gap)? I never had this problem before...what could be causing this?

    Thanks for your input however, what I don't understand is that some of the product images do appear on the site but not all images? The first 10 product pics appear but then, it's just the product descriptions after that with no images? I find it strange that it used to work on this particular site (mainly Gap and Old Navy) and now it doesn't? I do a lot of online shopping there so it's unfortunate. I contacted their online support and they said to download the Opera Mini App but that didn't work...I see even less images? If I visit the site on my Ipod Touch or my Macbook, I see all images, no problem? Not sure what the problem is?

  • Newbie Question: How to create a gap between header and wrapper?

    Hi everyone,
    My wife and I are trying to figure this one out. We have tried double clicking on the wrapper in the "All Rules" menu, adding a top margin to the wrapper in the "Box" submenu, as well as changing the positioning of the wrapper in the "Positioning" menu, but this made both the wrapper and header move down. How to I make the wrapper move down while leaving the header in place, so as to create a gap in between the two? Thansk so much!

    As snake states, a link to the page would be best. Usually margin top is what you would set. So if your wrapper is below your header, you would set the margin top in the css for the wrapper to be what you want the gap to be.
    Usually a wrapper or container is what is holding the whole site, but this doesn't sound the case here. So something like this in your css.
    .wrapper     {
        margin-top: 25px;
    You would probably add the margin-top:25px to the existing css for that page.
    If you can provide a link to the page, the very helpful people would be able to solve this for you rather easily.

  • Adding audio suddenly creating video gap

    I'm working on a slide show and it was going really well until today. The video is finished, with transitions, effects, etc., and I've been adding audio over the past couple of days. Today, I added a couple of songs and they did fine, then I added another one and it caused a gap in the video. When I go to the video line and right-click the gap, the "Delete and Close Gap" is greyed out so I can't use it. The gap doesn't "match" the audio--it starts about halfway through the audio and then ends where the audio ends. This is really frustrating, as I can't see anything different about this section of the project from the rest of it. (same file types, etc.) Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can correct it? Thanks!

    Steve--Thanks so much--of course that worked like a charm! :) I can always count on you to know right away what I'm doing wrong!! I do have one more question--why did the ripple feature only kick in towards the end? I had 1 hour and 6 minutes of audio tracks that didn't cause any of the ripples, then it seemed to happen out of nowhere. I don't *think* I was doing anything differently up to that point. I'm mystified! But also very, very thankful to know the cure--I'll be doing some last minute touch-ups and then I'll be ready to burn this one! Yahoooooo!!!!! :) Take care, Tina

  • Accounting document not created in J1IH transaction

    Hello All,
    We have a situation where additional excise is posted for a vendor through J!IH transaction.
    The excise JV is created but the accounting document does not get created.
    During transaction J1IH diex (additional excise) system has posted one document .It creates an entry in rg23a part2 entry but accounting entry is not created. it shows the accounting document number but when we are seeing detail of that document in FB03 system throws and error message "Document does not exist in fiscal year ."
    We have checked for the document number ranges, GL account determination.
    Is there any program to release the accounting document?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Vinod P

    Hi Mr.Farooq,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I understand that we can post a manual FI document with the values in the excise JV. My doubt is whether this will affect any further updations to the material part2 registers which can happen as there woudl be no link with the Excise register.
    Additionally, in our case, the accounting document number has got generated and is seen in the report - RFBNUM00N.(report for internal Document number Gaps).
    Are you aware of any program which can help me run the database updation alone to create the FI document, as the excise JV and part2 registers have been updated already?
    Or can we cancel this excise and create a new document altogether? Since the accounting document has not been created, can we cancel the excise document?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Vinod P
