Dyanmic date maintenance for running a report

Hi
My technical team has  developed a custom report which deletes some orders. While running the report it asks for 'date of last change' and asks for 'from date' and 'to date'. So that I can schedule the report to be run everyday, I wish to maintain a dynamic date in both the fields. When I try to save the variant and in 'Selection Varaibles' I can set the a dyanmic variable for only for 1 field 'from date' and selection variable does not give an option of storing a selection variable for the second date field 'to date'.
I want the report to run everyday with the date range changing everyday.
Is it possible or I will have run the report manually everyday changing the date range manually?
Thanks
Sandeep

Hello,
Create a variant for the Program/Report which you are running.
While creating a variant maintain following...
e.g.
For Variable From Date, Maintain the Selection Variable as D for Dynamic Date Calculation, Name of Variable as Current Date (select it from the list which you will get after pressing F4).
For Variable To Date ... maintain selection variable as for Dynamic Date Calculation, Name of Variable as Current Date (select it from the list which you will get after pressing F4).
While Maintaining the selection Variable you get 2 options
1) T for Table Variable from TVARVC
2) D for Dynamic date calculation
Select as per your requirement.
While Maintaing the Variant for the program, following column names appear, as per your requirement set the values for it.
Selection Scrns
Field name
Type
Protect field
Hide field
Hide field 'BIS'
Save field without values
Switch GPA off
Required field
<b>Selection variable</b>
Option
<b>Name of Variable (Input Only Using F4)</b>
In your case you will require to maintain the Selection variable and Name of the varianle for the field name( e.g. from Date , To Date etc.)

  • Stored Procedure used as a data source for an Apex report

    Just wondering whether anyone has used a Stored Procedure as the data source for an Apex report. An option to select Stored Procedures(s) as the data source does not appear within the IDE (only displays Table, Views, Functions).
    Do you have to return the definition of the Stored Procedure via a function ... if so, how is this done ?
    Thank you.

    Welcome to the forum: please read the FAQ and forum sticky threads (if you haven't done so already), and update your profile with a real handle instead of "920338".
    When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
    <li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
    <li>Region/item type(s)
    With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.

    Do you have to return the definition of the Stored Procedure via a function ... if so, how is this done ? When asking a question about "reports" it's firstly essential to differentiate between standard and interactive reports. Standard reports can be based on tables, views, SQL queries, or PL/SQL function blocks that return the text of a SQL query. Interactive reports can only be based on a SQL query.
    "Stored Procedures" are therefore not an option (unless you are using the term loosely to describe any PL/SQL program unit located in the database, thus including functions). What would a procedure used as the source of a report actually do? Hypothetically, by what mechanisms would the procedure (a) capture/select/generate data; and (b) make this data available for use in an APEX report? Why do you want to base a report on a procedure?

  • Dynamic date parameters for a scheduled report that runs every day

    I have a report that has input parameters for a start date and
    end date. The report will be scheduled to run once a day at a
    scheduled time. I need the report to automatically set the start
    date and end dates when the report runs at the scheduled time.
    When the report runs at the scheduled time, the end date needs
    to be set to that time and the start date needs to be set to 24
    hrs before the end date. I want the start and end dates to roll
    forward automatically when the scheduled report runs each day. I
    don't want any user intervention to change the start and end
    dates every day. How can I do this in a report ?
    Also, since the report is scheduled to run each day, I want the
    output to be saved to a unique file name each time the report is
    run as each day's report will report on the data only for that
    day. How can I get the report to save to a unique file name
    automatically each day ? Again, I don't want any user
    intervention where they would set the output file name manually.

    Try adding the following in the beforereport or beforepform
    trigger, before the RETURN clause (TRUNC gets rid of the time
    component of the date):
    :p_date_from := TRUNC(sysdate) - 1;
    :p_date_to := TRUNC(sysdate);
    :desname := 'REPORT'||TO_CHAR(sysdate, 'DDMMYYYY')||'.txt'

  • Trying to change the data source for a Crystal Report.

    <p>The method below represents my best attempt to programatically change the data source of a Crystal Report. The goal is to have a routine that will update the data source for reports after they have been distributed to production servers. So far I have not been successful in saving the report back to the CMS. No exceptions are thrown, but when I view the Database Configuration of the report in the CMC nothing has changed.

    <p>Justin,</p>
    <p>
    Thank you for the reply. Time constraints have not allowed me to post back to this tread
    till now. I will try your suggestion. My assumption is that <i>Save the report back to the
    info store</i> refers to <span class="code">IInfoStore.commit(IInfoObjects)</span>.
    </p>
    <p>
    I'm afraid that I do not understand why I don't want to change the report client document,
    or why <i>successfully exporting the report with the new login/password</i> is not what I
    want to do. Any explanation on that statement would be appreciated.
    </p>
    <p>
    I did find a way to accomplish my goal. It involved adding the SSOKEY property to the
    logon property bag. Below you'll see my revised code which modifies the report logon and
    server. I have no idea what
    this does, and SAP support has not been able to tell me why it works. However, what I
    discovered is that if I changed the report option, <b>Database Configuration -> When
    viewing report:</b>, in the CMS to <span class="bi">Use same database logon as when report
    is run</span> from <span class="bi">Prompt the user for database logon</span>, then the
    SSOKEY property had been added to the logon property bag having an empty string as its
    value. This allowed me to successfullyupdate and save the modified logon back to the CMS.
    </p>
    <p>
    So I took a chance and added code to always add the SSOKEY property with an empty string
    as its value, and I could then successfully modify and save the report's logon info
    and server. Again, I don't know what this means, but it has worked so far. If anyone has
    some insight or comments, either are welcome. Thank you in advance.

  • Saving the data fetched for scheduled Crystal Reports

    We have requirement to schedule report generation . An rpt will be provided as input to scheduler and whenever the schedule is triggered , the rpt should run to fetch data from database (without viewing the report ) and save rpt with fetched data on the file system in rpt format. Is there an API in SDK that provides this functionality?

    "Scheduling" is available only in CR Server or BOE suite of products. You can "export" the report to disk instead. This will run the report to fetch data and save it to disk with data. Here is an example code:
    import com.crystaldecisions.reports.sdk.*;
    import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.*;
    import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.exportoptions.*;
    import java.io.*;

              try {
                   //Open report.
                   ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
                   reportClientDoc.open(REPORT_NAME, 0);
                   //NOTE: If parameters or database login credentials are required, they need to be set before.
                   //calling the export() method of the PrintOutputController.
                   //Export report and obtain an input stream that can be written to disk.
                   //See the Java Reporting Component Developer's Guide for more information on the supported export format enumerations
                   //possible with the JRC.
                   ByteArrayInputStream byteArrayInputStream = (ByteArrayInputStream)reportClientDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(ReportExportFormat.PDF);
                   //Release report.
                   reportClientDoc.close();
                   //Use the Java I/O libraries to write the exported content to the file system.
                   byte byteArray[] = new byte [byteArrayInputStream.available()];
                   //Create a new file that will contain the exported result.

  • Trying to programmatically set the data-source for a Crystal reports report.

    I've got the following existing procedure that I need to add to in order to programmatically set the data-source (server, database, username, and password) for a Crystal reports report.
     I added the connectionInfo parts, but can’t figure out how to attach this to the existing

  • Authorization object for running a report in background

    Good day experts,
    I tried running a report in background, I choose immediately so that it doesn't have to be scheduled. But when I checked it in my own jobs, It remains at scheduled status. When I tried it on my admin account, It works and with status finished. It seems to be an authorization problem. What object could I be missing with my user account? I tried S_TCODE SMX and SP02 but still not working.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi karshbax,
    What you're looking for is authorization object S_BTCH_JOB. You need authorization for field JOBACTION = RELE.
    In future use transaction SU53. It shows last error authorization error, so if this is authorization problem then after try of manual releasing of job you'll find in SU53 precise info what went wrong.

  • Data Maintenance For Pooled Table

    Hi,
    I have to make table maintenance for pooled table T052S , Can I make table maintenace , if I have access key, is it feaseable, as I have some requirement , which is to be done.  or is there any other method by which user can maintain this table except through SPRO.
    thanks
    bobby

    We're on ECC 5.0 here and this table already has a maintenance transaction defined - OBB9.
    This is how SAP sets up maintenance for a lot of the config tables:
         Define a Maintenance View - e.g. V_T052S
         Define a Maintenance Dialog
         Define a transaction variant on SM30
    A user can be given maintenance access for only OBB9

  • Issue with date formula when running a report on the 1st day of the month

    We have a formula that compares last month data against last year last month, the report runs on the 1st of every month although the report errors when it tries to run in January being the first month of the new year it tries to look for a month begining with Zero instead of looking back at decemeber which would be 12.
    Does anyone any solutions for this issue?
    Thanks,
    Chris
    Example of some formula's we have tried but none seem to work.
    if {@MonthName} = "December" then year({CDCCHD.CDOPDT}) in year(currentdate)-1 to year(currentdate)-2 else year({CDCCHD.CDOPDT}) in year(currentdate)
    OR
    (if {@Last Full Month Name}= "December" then year({CDCCHD.CDOPDT})= year(currentdate)-2 or
    {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in lastyearytd else {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in lastyearytd or
    {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in yeartodate)
    OR
    ({CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in dateserial(year(currentdate)-1,month(currentdate),01)-1 to dateserial(year(currentdate)-1,month(currentdate)-1,01) or
    {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in lastfullmonth)
    OR
    if {@monthname} = "December" then {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in dateadd("m", -28, (currentdate)) to (currentdate)-14 else {CDCCHD.CDOPDT} in dateadd("m", -14, (currentdate)) to (currentdate)

    Chris,
    Give these formulas a try...
    Beg of Last Month
    DateAdd("m", DateDiff("m",#1/1/1900#, CurrentDate) - 1, #1/1/1900#)
    End of Last Month
    DateAdd("m", DateDiff("m",#1/1/1900#, CurrentDate), #1/1/1900#)
    Beg December of Last Year
    IF DatePart("m",CurrentDate) = 1
    THEN DateSerial(DatePart("yyyy",CurrentDate) -2, 12,1)
    ELSE DateSerial(DatePart("yyyy",CurrentDate) -1, 12,1)
    End December of Last Year
    IF DatePart("m",CurrentDate) = 1
    THEN DateSerial(DatePart("yyyy",CurrentDate) -1, 1,1)
    ELSE DateSerial(DatePart("yyyy",CurrentDate), 1,1)
    Note that the "End" formulas produce a value that shows midnight of the following day that you would normally expect to see... For example, if you are expecting to see 12/31/2009, it will show 1-1-2010.
    The reason is that the formulas come out to be midnight of the day shown... So a range of 12/1/2009 - 1/1/2010 will include 12/31/2009's data but none of 1/1/2010... (12/1/2009 - 12/31/2009 would actually cut off 12/31/2009).
    If for some reason your data is stored w/o time values then an adjustment would need to be mande.

  • Master data maintenance for two plants

    Dear All,
    there are two plants having same materials on both plants. sohow can we maintain aster data for both plants,
    should we create MICs for both plants,
    and inspection plan for both plants

    But you are then making the same product using 4 different methods!  That is terrible from a quality perspective.  If I'm a customer I don't want to have to worry about what plant made it.  It totally goes against having standard specs.  Quality should be consistent across plants.  You can manufacture it however you want, but the quality control, i.e. the tests and specs used must all be the same across all plants.  Its one of the reasons SAP is designed the way it is.  (One exception may be if a country requires a specific test for a product that other countries don't.)
    As far as changing specs and adding/deleting characteristics, those aren't things that should be changing very much.  Testing and specs should be pretty static data once it is created.  Coordinating changes shouldn't be that difficult.  Even when using separate plans you still need interplant coordination. The last thing you want is to wind up with 4 different specs being used across 4 different plants.
    It also means anything like COA's or certificates have to be managed much differently with a much higher level of maintenance.  Using any features of batch management are almost totally wiped out.   You could maintain separate plans and utilize the same MIC's however and use batch management.  But using separate MICS would really hurt the usage of batch classification.  Comparing quality between plants becomes much, much harder.  Reports can't be consistent.
    My biggest objection is not that you would want to do this. I can understand that there may be a unique sitiation out there that requires separate plans and maybe separate MICS as well.   But you told the poster that it was required to use separate inspection plans at different plants.
    I know not everyone sees and knows everything about everything.  I certainly don't and I've made mistakes.  But if we are going to post advice and solutions, we need to try and make sure it's correct information.

  • How to create the generic data source for Labour costs report in BI (actual& plan costs)?

    Hi,
    There are COOM data source which may suits your needs.
    please check data source
    0CO_OM_WBS_6
    0CO_OM_WBS_3
    Base tables are COSP and COSS.
    Check about coom data source, if not suitable then go for custom data source.
    About table cross verify with your source team.

  • Download to Data option for Hyperlinks on Reports

    Hi,
    There is a column called OrderNumber which will display its values in the form of hyperlink. On Master Report Page, it is taken from a fact called Orders.OrderNumber which when clicked leads to Details Report on a new window where the value need to be passed to another factOrderDetails.OrderNumber. This was only possible by using Dashboard Url in the column formula field of Order Number. The problem is with Download Data option which shows hyperlink formula instead of value in that column.So the original value is lost. This doesnt happen when it is downloaded to Excel or Downloaded to Excel 2000.
    Is there any possibility that when using Download to Data, the hyperlinks shows it values rather than formula of the hyperlink.

    Think about why Excel was created. In the old days, you could only pass data files in their simplest form and applications were need to parse the data. Text files, csv files, etc. were without format. Just data. Excel came along because people wanted all the formatting to go along with it, including being able to know what a hyperlink is. The files are larger because they include more information about the source file. Today, when passing Excel files are too large to do, one option that may still be available is to download in a csv file for the very reason that the file is smaller. It is smaller because you don't get any fancy stuff like nice formatting. But that is why your hyperlinks aren't coming across either.
    If you want the hyperlinks, use Excel.

    Is there any  standard logical data base which gives all the required fields mentioned above? since i am not SD consultant i am not sure whether i have to take only above tables exactly or not
    there are certain logical databases like SD_ORDER,SD_SALES_DOCUMENT which has tables VBAK,VBAP,VEDA but i am unable to join remaining tables  VBREVE and VBREVK with those logical data bases
    Please provide some valuable suggestions on this.

  • Custom code dll as a data source for an SSRS report

    I'm trying to create a report which relies on using some custom code written in VB.net. I am using the custom code to access the Server Management Objects SMO API in MSSQL 2012. I am able to supply an MSSQL object name (a database table
    for example)and then return a list of dependant objects using the dependency walker class (stored procedures, triggers, UDF's, other tables etc.) which rely on the parent object if you will. I am able load the results into a dataset in the custom code. My
    question is how can I get that dataset to be consumed as a data source and appear in my report. I've read many articles on how to use scripts to supply values for various report property settings. I just haven't seen an example of using a dll
    to supply a dataset. I am assuming it is possible. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Cheers

    Hi mdmck,
    According to your description, you want to create an SSRS report with custom code as data source, right?
     To use custom code in Reporting Services, we need to add a reference to your custom assembly, create a new CodeGroup for your custom assembly, and then grant full trust permissions. For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
    Open the report that will reference the custom assembly.
    On the Report menu, click Report Properties.
    In the Report Properties dialog box, click the References tab.
    Under References, click the ellipsis (...) button that is next to the Assembly name column header.
    In the Add References dialog box, click Browse.
    Locate and then click the custom assembly. Click Open.
    In the Add References dialog box, click OK.
    In the Report Properties dialog box, click OK.
    If the custom assembly requires more permissions than the default Execution level permissions, we need to create a new CodeGroup for your custom assembly, and then grant full trust permissions.
