Dynamic blocks within the WebUI. Is this possible?.

CRM 7.
We currently have about 14 user specific blocks within the Online Factsheet. We also have the same in the PDF Factsheet.
Some of these blocks show data in Metric (Kg, Cm's etc) but there has been a request to show data in Imperial format (Lb's and Inches etc), which is still used in the U.S.
Using the WebUI and within an Account there's an option under the 'More' tab to display either an Online factsheet or a PDF Factsheet. Does anyone know how I can control the entries in this pull-down tab?.
With regards to the Factsheet itself, I have two options open to me. The first to create another Factsheet which has the fields and column headings defined in the view config, or use the same factsheet/component/views and dynamically change the column headings and fields, which sounds harder.
The PDF Factsheet is easy to deal with as it's just a Smartform, so I can copy it  and change it specifically for the Imperial format.
Has anyone done anything like this before, and perhaps give me the benefit of their wisdom?.

I debugged the process and can see this line is providing the text on the tab. However, the method is making a low-level call to get the details from some message class/table, but I can't identify what this message class/table is.
But it looks like it's the sotr_edit transaction, as you mentioned, that controls this. I'm not that familiar with this OTR process though and the transaction is not that intuitive. I assume that I just need to somehow add new entry, with my own Z package.

I had already modified table CRMV_PRN_CONTROL via sm30 and had changed the values for the Fom name and class/interface from CRM_ACC_ACCOUNT_OVERVIEW_PRN to ZCRM_ACC_ACCOUNT_OVERVIEW_PRN for the form name and from CL_UIU_PRN_ACCOUNT to ZCL_UIU_PRN_ACCOUNT for the class/interface against all the roles.
However, I know want to add another form name and class/interface as I have TWO user PDF Factsheets to use, depending on which item the user chooses from the Tab.
Any idea how I can control this?.

  • How to start a browser from an action within the WebUI?

    Hello experts,
    Within CRM 5.0 we have implemented an action (if_ex_exec_methodcall_ppf~execute) to start a web dynpro by directly calling its url. This is done by using the method call cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute and works fine. However, we've just upgraded to CRM 7.0 and within the WebUI environment this method raises an exception. Apparently it only works when started from the SAPgui. I have also tried calling function call_brower but with the same result.
    I have thought about how to "get back" to the WebUI environment from the coding but the problem is that I have no handle or entry point to any view or window. In other words the PPF-method is totally unaware of the WebUI.  A static get_current_window method e.g. would come in handy.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    In the meantime I've found the necessary classes to interact nicely with the WebUI and they all provide static methods to get an entry point. I am able to navigate based on a newly created generic outbound plug with the following coding:
    lr_nav_descr = cl_crm_ui_descriptor_obj_srv=>create_ui_object_based(
      iv_ui_object_type   = 'Z_GESPREKSVERSLAG_OP'
      iv_ui_object_action = if_crm_ui_descriptor_object=>gc_action_display ).
    The actual navigation can now be started with the navigation service:
    lr_nav_service = cl_crm_ui_navigation_service=>get_instance( ).
    lr_nav_service->navigate_dynamically( lr_nav_descr_col ).

    Works perfectly fine for me with the latest Reader version (11.0.09).
    You write that it worked "before"; before what?  An update?  Update from what version to what version?

    i don't have any experience with DLNA TV's but i recently moved my iTunes library to a NAS. streaming content to airport express remote speakers and TV2 works great. however, i have all my gear hardwired to my time capsule (except the airport express) so i'm not sure how well streaming e.g. HD movies to TV over wifi works.

    Put the Old drive in an external notebook drive enclosure. Install the SSD in your computer. Boot from your Old drive's Recovery HD:
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Clone Lion/Mountain Lion using Restore Option of Disk Utility
         1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu then press the Continue
             button.
         2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
         3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
         4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it
             to the Destination entry field.
         5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
             the Source entry field.
         6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    Destination means the New SSD. Source means the external Old hard drive.
    Set the new Startup Disk to the SSD and restart the computer.
    This process clones both your old OS X volume and the Recovery HD volume to the SSD. You can use a similar process to clone the SSD to the new hard drive you will install.

    As far as I know there is no US cell carrier that allows pay as you go with an iPhone. You can purchase an unlocked iPhone 4S at an Apple Store and try it with a non-supported carrier.

    Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"?  There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.

    The above can get pretty complicated.  You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

  • Dynamic query structures with restrictions - is this possible

    Hi experts,
    We have a client that has hard coded query structures, much to our chagrin.  These structures change quarterly and because the structures are used across several queries and workbooks, I need to find a new solution that will makes the dynamic and can be updated in production.  We have investigated the use of hierarchies for this, and unfortunately this will not work.
    Also, their queries are locked down in production, so all changes must transport from Dev to QA to Production.  This setting is mandated from the parent company, so changing this is not possible.
    Question:  Is it possible to write a WebDynpro or ABAP program that will allow users to change these hard coded structures?  What tables would be used for this?   I'm hoping we can create custom tables that dynamically populate the structures of the query, but I have doubts this can be done. 
    I suspect this is a stretch, but I'm hoping somebody might have attempted this. 
    Any ideas would be appreciated.  We're proficient in BI so any suggestions would be great.
    Example structure:
    P&L Structure
    Revenue ......................(restricted on Revenue GL accounts)
    Out of Pocket Revenue.....(restricted on Out of Pocket GL accounts)
    Total Revenue...................(total of the Revenue and Out of Pocket Revenue from above)

    ...to put a maintainable table in front of the users can be as easy as creating a  'parameters' cube and putting an input ready query on it. Lots of other options, such as a simple custom table and a gui based form to maintain, but I've used exit variables looking up values from custom parameter cubes a great deal in planning applications.
    Another alternative may be to add a new attribute to your gl accounts to indicate the nominal reporting group, and base your variable exits or row structures on that, leaving your users simply to mainain their GL Account Mastre data as required.

  • After reset manually restore all the content - is this possible?

    I had to reset my ipod because it wasn't recognised anymore. Beforehand I manually copied all the content of the ipod to an external HD. After the reset I copied the whole lot back but in the menu system of the ipod nothing seems to be there. Does this mean that manually backup/restore is not possible or do i have to do something else?

    i had to do the same to mine just the other night after attempting and failing with ipl. before i restored my ipod i explored the drive and opened the hidden folder ipod system i believe it was. I copied 3 folders: Music, Itunes and the album art. Once i restored my ipod a just copied these files back. I had all my music back and it was like nothing had changed.

  • Detect print program name from within Sapscript. Is this possible?.

    We have a situation whereby for the single and group delivery we have two print programs printing to one Sapscript form. This is exactly what we need, with one exception being the title. What I would like to do is detect the print program and change the title accordingly. Does anyone know if this is possible?.

    Hi Jason,
    hhhmm, the obvious answer sy-repid is of course bogus, because that would contain the program from the SAPscript environment. I wonder though if sy-cprog is of any use - probably not, but was too lazy to test this...
    In general though I'd recommend though to use some better marker than program name. E.g. don't you have any existing global field that can be used (e.g. are you using the same delivery type, same output type, ...)? If you don't have one, maybe you should consider putting a global variable in both print programs that you fill to indicate which type you're processing.
    In theory you could of course determine the program name, even from SAPscript, with the help of a ABAP form routine that evaluates the call stack and returns the program name of the print program. Or you could evaluate TNAPR as suggested by the previous poster, but I'm not sure if that's available by default (like the NAST record); I thought not, but my memory might serve me wrong. If not, I'd personally go with the markup variable (ideally existing content, if not available new one) as this seems the cleaner approach.

    I was at a course last week and remembered that the course giver mentioned that you can get a photo slide show or an imovie to move in time with the music? anyone know how to do this, I think he was clickig the space bar or command I am unsure!!!!

    That would have to be a manual thing as there's no built in mechanism to change the photo to the music.
