Dynamic date in Archiver query

Hello,
I'm trying to set up a scheduled job in Archiver to remove old revisions higher than 20 and older than 2 months.
I can get the results I need if I hard-code the date, but I'm looking for a way to put (current date - 2 months) into the Archiver Custom Query Expression box.
Here's what I have so far:
dRevRank > 19 AND
dInDate < {ts '2009-08-16 00:00:00.000'}
Anybody know a way to make the second line dynamic based on current date, (i.e. sysdate-60 in an Oracle DB)?

Ockam's Razor on this one. You can just put the Oracle syntax right in the Custom Query window.
dRevRank > 4 AND
dInDate < {ts sysDate-860}
I was thinking you'd need Idoc or something else in there, but nope.

Tricky dynamic date variant in ABAP query

Hello All,
In an abap query there is a date field in the selection screen with from & to values.
I am trying to create a dynamic variant that will fill the following data into those fields:
From date: will be left blank
To date: will show today's date - 90 days
For example, if today's date is 01/12/2006 the variant should fill the following data into the fields:
From date: <blank>
To date: 01/09/2006
I have tried all the methods I know with dynamic dates calculation in the variant definition but did not manage to create such variant.
Any help will be very appreciated and points would be rewarded generously !

If the "from" date is meant to be left blank (beginning of time) and the "to" date is some date plus or minus number of days from today, you use the "current +/- days" dynamic date calculation format as was mentioned earlier. Likewise if the "from" date is some date plus or minus today's date, and the "to" date is infinity -- you only need the one Dynamic Date calculation.
To do this, first don't think about this as a date range, think of your Dynamic Date calculation as if this were a single parameter and not a select-option. You are really saying "my date is anything LT/LE this date" or "my date is anything GT/GE this date" -- not a range
In the Save Variant screen, find the desired date select-option and:
1. Choose in column "Selection Variable", a "D" (Dynamic date calculation)
2. Use F4 in the "Name of Variable" column
3. Find "Current date +/- ??? days" or "Current date +/- ??? work days" in the popup, as appropriate
4. For "I/E" (include/exclude) column select as appropriate
5. For "Option" column, choose "LE", "LT", "GE", "GT", "NE" as appropriate
6. After clicking green check mark, enter your plus or minus days (and factory calendar if using work days).
7. Finish saving your variant.
8. You may not see your changes in your variant until you back all the way out of the variant and then redisplay it. You'll see a greyed out date along with the symbol matching your choice (LT, LE, etc.)
Unfortunately if you don't have infinity on either end of the date you are limited to 999 days differences as far as I am aware. If that is the case you can populate TVARVC table with parameter or selection variables, maintain them with STVARV transaction by hand, or use an ABAP program in batch to regularly calculate the values. Then you can reference the TVARVC values in your variant instead of the Dynamic Date calculation.
If someone knows a way to bypass the use of TVARVC for date ranges that are more than 999 days apart please let me know. TVARVC works well but it is extra effort whereas Dynamic Date calculation would be much easier to maintain if the date range could be made larger than 999 days.

Dynamic Date (from to) to Archive Workitem

Hi, I would like to kown if is possible create a variant with dynamic date in field End Date? I´m trying this, but when I select a dynamic date -180 days to system puts the date on the first field, but I would like to have the End Date filled from 01.01.2008 to 24.04.2010 (today - 180 days).

It depends on what version you have in your system. When defining the variable, follow the following steps:
- Highlight the date row (just for ease of use)
- Under the "Selection Variable", click F4 and select D (for dynamic)
- Under the "Name of Variable", click F4
- In the drop down screen you get, scroll all the way down
- You have three options you can use:
    1- Current date - xxx,current date + yyy
    2- Date - xxx, Date + yyy (work days)
    3- (Beginning of mth-xx months, end of mth+yy months)
- Pick any of the three options
- In the xxx field, put a positive number; say 180 (for the first two options) or 6 (for the third option)
- In the yyy field, put a negative number; say -30 (for the first two options) or 1 (for the third option)

Hi Planung,
For deletion of data SARA transaction is used. Also deletion indicator is required to set for the documents which you are not using. Use the bapi BAPI_DOCUMENT_DELETE for deleting the documents which are set with deletion indicator.

Creation of Dynamic Date Variables to be used in WebI reports

What we are trying to achieve is to create 4 optional filters (Current Day, Current Week, Last Week, Last Month) on 4 different dates which will allow the users to use them in WebI reports.
When using an optional SAP Customer Exit variable in BEx and creating a Universe on top, the filter becomes mandatory (i.e. the whole Universe is filtered by the SAP Exit, irrespective of whether the filter is used in the WebI report). Even if the filter is flagged as optional at the Universe level, it still behaves as mandatory.
If each filter becomes mandatory then we'll have to create 16 different Universes (for each optional filter and date combination)! This is not feasible.
I've seen in other posts that MDX Statements are not currently supported for Universes base on BW and SAP Exit should be utilized.
So with the existing BO version, is it possible to create optional dynamic date variables or is that a product limitation?
We are on XI3.1 SP3 FP3.1

In BEx, I would create this query very easily using the "Amount" key figure twice in my results and restricting each with a different SAP standard out-of-the-box delivered variable. For your reference, the variables in BEx are: 0FPER and 0FYTLFP.
If I expose these variables in my OLE DB for OLAP query, they are not transfered into the universe, but rather act as filters on the entire universe. I've seen in documentation that only "Ready for Input" variables can be transfered as options into the universe which is not something that I have seen mentioned in this thread.

The only work around I can see is to require users to enter the current fiscal period and have the BO reports filter based off that user entered value. This is unfortunate as the entire purpose of SAP Exit variables is to avoid having to require user input at report time.

Can we set the dynamic data source when using getReportParameters() ?

I have a report where one of its parameters refers to a list of values (LOVs). This list of values is an SQL Query type. When the data source used in the report is defined in the BI Publisher server, I'm able to get the report parameters using the getReportParameters() function in my application. However, if the data source is not defined the function throws an exception, which is understandable.
I decided to dynamically set the data source so that even if the data source used by the report is not defined in the BI Publisher server, it still will be able to get the LOVs for the parameter. I tried setting the JDBCDataSource of the dynamicDataSource for the ReportRequest object that I passed to the getReportParameters() function. Please see the sample code below:
reportRequest.dynamicDataSource = new BIP10.BIPDataSource();
reportRequest.dynamicDataSource.JDBCDataSource = new BIP10.JDBCDataSource();

I was expecting this to work as this is what I did to dynamically set the data source before calling the runReport function. So, my question is -- can we set the dynamic data source when using getReportParameters() ? I tried this both in versions 10g and 11g. It does not seem to work on both versions.

report_id column of apex_application_page_ir_rpt can help us uniquely identify each saved report.
We can assign this report_id value to a page item and this page item can be put in the Report ID Item text box of the Advanced section of the Report Attributes page of the IR.
This should load the saved report identified by report_id and you can get rid of javascript

I have archived SAP FI data ( Object FI_DOCUMNT) using SAP standard process through TCODE : SARA.
Now please tell me can I acees this archived data through the PBS add on FM : '/PBS/SELECT_INTO_TABLE'.

Dynamic change in the query name based on user input

Hi Gurus,
In a scenario, country appears as a user input variable.When the user specifies his country, the same query displays <b>Business trends</b>' data pertaining to his own country and rest of the world(international) in two tables.The reports are developed using Web application designer.
Can the name(description) of the query be changed so that the user input value for country gets dynamically reflected in the query name like <b>Business trends:Selected country vs International</b>?

ya this can be done by text variables. create a text variable( replacement path on the country infoobject) by going to the query properties on the description.
if the user enters country value then it will be displaed on the description of the query .
assign points if useful .

Thanks for the reply. Its solved now. For anybody if interested you can set the dynamic email address either i) having it as part of payload - In this case use the xpath to query the payload varaible ii) use identity service - follow the following steps
1.Create a user in Application enterprise manager/also you can use a existing account, if u are creating a new one assign the correct role
2. In either case edit the user-properties.xml(bpel/system/services/config) file for the corresponding user and add an attribute called email
3. Bounce the server for this changes to take effect
4. In the notification properties in the to address use ids:getUserProperty and pass the attribute name

Hi Bandana,
When you say dynamic date, are you refering to the system date on which the BEx query run?
If so, there are SAP Exit variable available which can be used to retrieve system date at run time.
Try using 0DAT variable which will return the system date at run time.

How to diasable Data Edit in Query Builder?

Is there a way to disable Data Edit in Query Builder in Dev6? When QB was part of Discoverer as Browser it was possible via BROWSER_PROFILE. The QB now ignores this neither it have any table instead. There is note in help that the feature is disabled by default and admin should have to enable it, but, seems, it is occasionally left from previous releases.

What did you mean the “string”? What did you want to do to use the string parameter?
Did you mean managed properties?
If you mean the managed properties, you can just select the managed properties in the query builder, the query builder would automatically generate the path.

Dynamic Aggregation Using BI Query Wizard

Hi,
Is it poosible to perform dynamic aggregation using Oralce Query Wizard. In other words , is it possible to change/filter the dimension members of a particular dimension and recalculate the aggregation with out changing the fact/dimension table contents.

Hi,
Not sure exactly what you are tying to achieve. However, if your data is stored in Analytic Workspace objects then you can recalculate data via OLAP DML programs or models dynamically from within a BI Beans application. The AW environment is always attached in read-only mode as a default. Hence, you can change the data during a session and then dump the changes when the user exits the application.
From within a relational environment it is very difficult to create the same approach since it is possible a commit could be issued. Unless you mark the required tablespaces as read-only. In which case you could execute PL/SQL procedures to recalculate data. However, not sure how you would resolve the refresh of any related MVs

Scheduling WebI reports for Dynamic Date Ranges

Our Env is BOBJ XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.5 integrated with SAP NW BW 7.02 EPH1
We are trying to schedule few WebI reports which can be used on ad-hoc basis as well. Some reports need to get data from starting of the month to today (like MTD) and few are with dynamic date ranges.
In case of relational universes i used to do Magic Date as mentioned here : http://www.dagira.com/2008/07/21/using-a-magic-date-value-in-prompts
But for OLAP Universes i have written a MDX filter prompt as :

We are getting MDX erros because IIF can only return numeric values. So are there any other approaches for dynamically scheduling the reports or can the above MDX prompt be modified to make it work ?

When we schedule the WEBI report we use the BEX query with a variable based on a customer Exit .

In order to avoid providing a hard coded date restriction in the BEX query we want to have a flexible date range solution (e.g. data from 1.1.2011 until yesterday).
Is the folloing scenario possible:
Scheduled webi report with a hard coded date e.g. 1.1.1900 (for the BEX variable)
The BEX query should return the data from 1.1.2011 until yesterday (dynamically) if date = 1.1.1900
else it should return the data (for the e.g. adhoc reporting)
Is a customer exit like this possible ?
Pseudo code:
IF date = 1.1.900 then return sysdate-1 else return entered date
For a relational universe I always used a magic date condition

Dynamic Data in Xcelsius Dashboard via ExcelXML Map?

Hello,
I am trying to create a dashboard with a grid with a variable number of rows and columns. The data is given to Xcelsius through an Excel XML map i.e. I have given an XML source to an Excel file and then have imported that excel file into Xcelsius.
I am able to see dynamic data changes within the pre-specified dimensions (i.e. from the first import). For example, if I have a 4X5 grid and change the text in the first row and first column, then Xcelsius will reflect this. However if I add an additional row with data in the xml file, I am not able to see this, even if I resize the the grid so that it has room at the bottom to be filled in.
Does anybody have any experience with this/can anyone point me to specific articles? I have followed the instructions given in the Tech Tips article, but this only applies to data within a specific structure, while I want to change the structure itself.
In short, is it possible to do dynamic structures in Xcelsius?

Hi,
Please go to Data>Connections>Excel XMl maps under usage tab please check if you have set the options "Refresh on load" or "refresh every".
If not, please select the refresh option and save the xlf file and then try to create a dashboard again.
