Dynamic Discover - Nav Types

I've created a new DLL for my custom navigation type and placed it into Dynamic Discovery.
During the page load, I can see in PT Spy that the DLL was loaded. However, when I go to the subportal manager, I can't choose my new nav type. Any ideas on what I might be missing?
Is there someplace where you can speciify how many nav types to load on the nav types manager page?

Did you add a new constant to com.plumtree.portalpages.common.uiparts.NavTypeConstants or otherwise give your navigation a unique ID and name? The INavTypes.GetID method and INavTypes.GetName method must return a unique ID and name, respectively.
Hope this helps,

  • How to dynamically discover runtime properties of app server within webapp

    Hi friends,
    Does anyone know if the Servlet API provide any methods to dynamically discover app server runtime properties such as which http and https ports the server is listening at?
    It's not the same as ServletRequest.getServerPort() which only give you back the port the incoming request comes from.
    I want to be able to say redirect user requests to https, WITHOUT in advance knowledge of the https port configured for the app server, which means no hardcoding of the port number.
    Thanks very much for help.

    You could always add a web resource collection to your web.xml and specify the transport guarantee to be integral.

  • Dynamic UI control "type"

    Hello,
    I am attempting to find the best way to handle the following situation:
    I have a form with two elements: a drop down list and an input field. The drop down has multiple values.  Based on the value selected, the input field will need to be bound to a specific context attribute.
    A simple application of this would be a drop down with two values:
    Carr ID
    Conn ID
    If Carr ID is selected, I'd like the input field to be bound to an attribute of type s_carr_id so that I get the appropriate search help.  Just the same, if the user selects Conn ID, the input field would be bound to an attribute of type s_conn_id.
    I don't know if dynamically assigning attribute types is the right way (or even possible).  I know work arounds (such as multiple input fields bound to individual attributes of the correct type that I would manipulate the visibility of per the drop down selection) but I'd like to see what the general input on this is.
    thanks in advance.

    I contemplated that however considering the user can select as many values as the like from the drop down (that is, they can change a selected value many times before submitting) I would be creating multiple dynamic fields and having to juggle the visibility etc the same as I am doing now with static fields.  I am not sure what this gains for me at all.
    I was hoping for 1 static field element who's bound attribute type could be changed.  I think I'll probably just be going with x forms where x is the number of drop down choices with only 1 visible at any time.
    Thanks for your input.

  • Fpga: dynamic mode vs type def for FPGA ref

    What are the differences for dynamic mode and type def for FPGA referenece?  When should I use which?  Is there a scenerio when I should use neither?
    Kudos and Accepted as Solution are welcome!

    So, you can still create a Type Def of a Dynamic Interface Refnum... That sounds confusing I know. Basically, my design flow is generally as follows:
    Develop initial FPGA code.
    Create a Control or Type Def with the FPGA Interface control configured for my FPGA VI.
    Develop my host, and use the Type Def in all of my subVIs.
    If I need to edit my FPGA code, now I only have to update the control in the typedef to propagate my interface changes to all of my subVIs
    Basically, every project I do has a FPGA Reference typedef for use in my host VI.
    Attached, you can find a (incomplete) sample project of mine that does this.
    Cheers!

  • How to create an new array from dynamically discovered type

        public static Object toAdjustedArray(Object source, Object addition,
                                             int colindex, int adjust) {
            int newsize = 0;
            Class componentType = null;
            if (source.getClass().isArray()) {
                Object[] arrayIn= (Object[])source;
                componentType = arrayIn[0].getClass();
                newsize = arrayIn.length + adjust;
            else {
                System.out.println("error in ArrayUtil");
            Object[] newarray = new Object[newsize];
            copyAdjustArray(source, newarray, addition, colindex, adjust);
            return newarray;
        }This methods take an array as an input an append new value(s) to it.
    I can get the component type of the array (i.e. the class of the array's member). But how can I create a new array of this component type (i.e doing something like componentType[] newarray = new componentType[newsize])?
    CU Jerome

    I fanally found a walkaround trick for my problem.
    Their is no way to create an array of a certain type (dynamically dsicovered) in CLDC. But what you can do is to use the instanceof method to determine the type of your array and in a big if statement create the right array.
    Here is the final code:
        public static Object toAdjustedArray(Object source, Object addition,
                                             int colindex, int adjust) {
            int newsize = 0;
            if (source.getClass().isArray()){
                Object[] arrayIn= (Object[])source;
                newsize = arrayIn.length + adjust;
            Object arrayElement = null;
            if (addition.getClass().isArray()){
                Object[] temp = (Object[])addition;
                arrayElement = temp[0];
            else{
                arrayElement = addition;
            Object newarray = null;
            if (arrayElement == null){
                newarray = new Object[newsize];
            if (arrayElement instanceof org.hsqldb.Index){
                newarray = new org.hsqldb.Index[newsize];
            else {
                newarray = new Object[newsize];
            copyAdjustArray(source, newarray, addition, colindex, adjust);
            return newarray;
        }

  • [JPA-Newbie] -- JPA 2 for dynamic/custom entity types (database schemas)?

    Dear forum members:
    Still being new to JPA and having worked through the JPA2 spec as well as a good Apress book for learning the JPA concepts, I am currently wondering if my current, rather dynamic application scenario can be realized in JPA 2 in an easy way.
    The simplified app scenario is like the following:
    Suppose there should be a JEE6 web app that allows endusers to publish articles. There is a generic "Article" type with some common/default attributes such as
    - author : String
    - pubDatetime : String or own.DateTime
    - title, subtitle, articleText : String
    Additionally, a privileged group of endusers should be able to enhance this generic "Article" type by custom attributes during runtime (i.e., dynamically) and via a web interface. Additional attributes could be
    - articleTopic : ArticleCategoryEnum
    - rating : Float
    - comments : List<String>
    I guess the intention should be obvious and btw. not uncommon.
    My remaining main question basically is:
    * How could such a scenario be implemented in JPA 2 the best way?
    Due to the topic's importance importance for me, I'd be very grateful for any help or other productive tips/hints.
    Thank you very much in advance.

  • Support for file tag in XSLT to create dynamic pages  - Gallery type 'Flash'

    Based on my understanding, when you export, LR Web engine looks for transformer.xslt by default if the gallery type is HTML. It allows to use <file name="outputfilename.html"> tag in this transformer.xslt to create new files.<br /><br />But to my knowledge I don't see the above defaults working if the gallerytype is Flash. Why? I don't understand why LR is restricting the Flash based galleries from creating dynamic output files via XSLT.<br /><br />I tried setting xmlTransformer file name to transformer.xslt in galleryInfo.lrweb and leaving xmlPath to blank but this doesn't seem to work. If I give some dummy XML name, it creates the xml in that name, but ignores creating new files I mentioned in the <file> tag in xslt.<br /><br />Can someone please explain if there are any alternates or if possibly fixed in the next release ?

    Are you the one who commented out the code you're looking for ?//String desc = StringFactory.getString(attributes.getValue("desc"));You just have to modify you AttributeObject class to hold a new field : String description. And then, it's up to you to create a new constructor or a new setter method.
    Btw, this is not a Swing related question.

    when I try to check in dynamic converter template (Dynamic Converter Admin -> Check in existing template), the drop down of template types never gets updated with templates types, it just sits on "Loading values...". • Dynamic parameter with 'type-ahead' capability

    Hi,
    How do I create a dynamic parameter that will return a drop down list of over 11,000 records in alphabetic order that I can then select the value I want by starting to type in the value.  For example, in a list of cities of the world I want to select 'London' so I type in an 'L' and the list moves to the first city starting with an 'L', I then type an 'o' and the list goes to 'Lo' etc.
    At the moment only 30 values appear in the drop-down list and I can only enter the first letter.
    I want to use this value as the parent for a cascading parameter.
    Thanks, Colin

    The dynamic parameter does not have the functionality to 'type-ahead' and go to specific values in the list in that manner. The most you can do is go to values that start with a specific letter and scroll through them. This behavior is occurring by design.
    By default, Crystal Reports will only return the first 1000 unique values for a dynamic parameter. This can be changed through a registry entry.
    For information on changing the values retrieved for the dynamic parameter, you can refer to the following Business Objects Note.
    - Go to this link
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/advancedsearch?cat=sdn_ossnotes&query=&adv=true
    - Search for the Note: 1218588
    When using a dynamic parameter, the limit will be a combination of all the values return at each level to reach the total number of records returned. Also the more records that you return to the dynamic parameter, the longer it will take to retrieve the data from the database.

  • Dynamically create document type Item Attribute using WF_ENGINE.AddItem API

    Hi
    Is WF_ENGINE.AddItem API , supported to create document type Item attributes dynamically ? If yes how do we set the display name of the attribute. If no then is there is any other method to dynamically create document tyoe item attribute?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If the document is stored on a file system, then I would replace the message body with a PL/SQL document which includes links to the files as straightforward URLs. There would be no need to include them in the Workflow in any way. For example, I recently worked with a client where all the (file) attachments made within eBusiness Suite were then migrated into Oracle Universal Content Management and the attachment was replaced with a URL to the new document. Any notifications now just reference the URL link to the document within the document management system in an HTML notification. While the processing is going on, the user is given the list of files that exist as attachments, but no links because the document is being processed by the management system.
    If the attachments are going to be stored in Workflow as documents, you won't be able to change the display name though - display name is set for the attribute on the message, not for each specific notification. Changing the value of the display name for the message would impact all notifications that use that message, which isn't what you want.
    What you need is to dynamically build the notification (either using PL/SQL or OA Framework) and include a list of attachments in the notification. This may be a direct link to the document (either in a document management system or on a file system somewhere) that you can render as a URL, or a link to code that can retrieve the document from the database and serve that to the user. This is not a straightforward piece of work.
    If this is purely internal, you might be better off having a custom form / screen which displays the different documents, and link to that from the notification. Or you could link to a standard form for the transaction and have the users pick up the attachments directly from the transaction.

  • Dynamically change data type of a field

    Hello,
    I'm trying to dynamically create a SQL statement which will insert record sin to my SQL data base.
    I dynamically bring field name sand values. then concatenate them in a string and then Execute the SQL string in a native SQL eXEC statement.
    It all worked fine till I used signle quotes for all field values.
    but now I wante dto insert a field of type "Money" is SQL which is nothing but AMount/currency in SAP.
    Now If I remove this quotes it is working fine. but If I have a negative number the "-" sign comes in the end in my abap code and gives a short dump in insert statement.
    now I wante dto make that variable dynamic in to currency rather than String.
    Please let me know how Can I change it dynamically.
    EG: w_field_value = 3000.25-  (value in SAP / w_field_value is of TYPE String)
    Before I concatenate this , I wanted to change its type to AMOUNT ...
    thanks.

    Just Use the field Symbols.
