Dynamic field in header - rtf template

Question

I have a report that page breaks on entity. I am required to display the relevant entity in one of the header rows that repeats on each page of the report(table property/ow option 'repeat as header row at the top of each page' is checked).
I tried assigning the entity to a variable within the for each entity loop, and then retrieving it to a field in the header, but it doesn't display outside of the loop (displays fine within the loop). Code I used to create/retrieve the variable is below.
<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Entity_Name', ENTITY_SEG)?>
<?xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Entity_Name') ?>
Is there anyway to achieve this?

I solved this issue by XML. <?sum(//Total_of_Begining_Balance_ID14[../CategoryCodeGl022_ID9="1101"])-sum(//Total_of_Begining_Balance_ID14[../CategoryCodeGl022_ID9="1102" ])?>
But one question still confuse me. In the first line, I use Conditional Region and it works. But after I use XML in Advance windows in the second and third lines, when I still use Conditional Region in the forth line, it doesn't work any more. The same situation occurs on all the lines beneath third line....
