Dynamic filters print (pdf)

Hi
In our print web template we have an information field that shows us
dynamic filters including key figures and structures.
Is it possible NOT to show the key figures and structures, but everything else ?
Kind Regards
Steffen

Hi,
per default the template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT is used for the export. If you want different items to appear in the exported PDF file, you can define your own export template and maintain this template for the PDF command.
Best regards,
Janine

  • Hide Dynamic Filters list criteria

    Hello Dear Experts,
    I would like to ask you whether it is possible and how can i hide the Dynamic Filters list criteria from a BW Portal (Web) report when exporting this or broadcasting this by email in pdf format???
    I mean about the first page of the output report which includes the settings & dynamic filters & key figures used in the report.
    Great Thanks in Advance...!!!!
    Kind Regards
    George

    Hi George
    There are two options:
    1. The default template for portal display is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN. In this, there is a web item Info field.
    This causes the static, dynamic filters to appear on the report on a click on Print button.
    The option is to copy 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN to a new web template. Change the new template for not displaying this on click of Print button using the command option. Then use the new template as default template in SPRO. This will make it applicable for all the queries run on portal directly. Remember, for changes to take affect J2EE engine should be restarted.
    2. If this is only required for few queries, then the best approach is to create the template for each report and publish them.
    However, if the look and feel should be similar to other reports, then copy 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and make changes to print command. The default template need not be changed here.
    Thanks
    Sri

  • JRE Crash with 1.5.0_13 related to printing & PDF export

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem : JRE 1.5.0 (updates 6, 10 and 13 tried) crashes under my software. The problem is encountered with printing / PDF exporting functionality through JFreeReport. Issue is encountered only with dualcore computers. Fortunately the issue isn't encountered with 1.6.0 anymore but I'd still be interested to find some workaround to make the software run with 1.5.0 also (It would be nice not to require users to have 1.6.0) Problem has been detected with both Win XP SP 2 and Vista.
    First I was suspicious because we are using one JNI library but removing that didn't help so that shouldn't be the case.
    After some searching I found a couple of JVM bugs that were marked as duplicates for http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6186524 . Those were related to 2D things and hence printing, fonts, exporting and with some cases dualcore computers were mentioned. However, that bug should be fixed in 1.5.0_10 but upgrading to 1.5.0_10 (or 1.5.0_13) didn't help so it can't be the actual bug.
    Error log, if somebody can make up something: (This error log was got when running through Eclipse with JRE set to 1.5.0_13 but error has been encountered also when running straight with just one JRE (1.5.0_XX) installed to computer.)

    This looks like [bug 6754141|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6754141] in the just-in-time compiler. If you have a support contract you can escalate this to get a fix in a jdk1.5.0 update. Alternatively, there do not seem to be any reports of this in jdk6, so you could try a recent jdk6 update (e.g., jdk6 update 17).

  • Dynamic Images in PDF and Escaping Special Characters

    I used the following to create my own PDFs with dymnamic images:
    http://marcsewtz.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html (Dynamic Images in PDF - What 32k Limit? )
    I have installed this application on Oracle's free workspace to test.
    The issue I am having is that when there is a special character in the description, such as <>'"& then the the PDF will not open. I have tried using the dmbs_xmlgen.convert to convert the description but haven't had any luck.
    I'm a complete novice with xml. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Glen

    I have been able to find a solution, but it's not completely perfect. I have changed the "description" field as follows:
    XMLCdata(replace(description,''&'',''and'')) description,
    The characters greater than (>), less than (<), single qoute('), and double quote (") can now all be in the description and will not cause errors. For some reason, I couldn't get the & not to give an error no matter what I tried, so I just replaced the & with the word "and". This solution will work for my needs, but it would be nice to be able to get the & to display.
    Does anyone know of a way to get the & to display correctly?
    Thanks again,
    Glen
    The complete code I am using is below:
    declare
    l_print_layout clob;
    l_xml_data clob;
    begin
    -- load print layout from database
    for c1 in (
    select layout from eba_pdfimg_layouts where id = :P1_LAYOUT
    ) loop
    l_print_layout := wwv_flow_utilities.blob_to_clob(c1.layout );
    end loop;
    -- generate XML data
    for c2 in (
    select dbms_xmlgen.getxml('
    select
    id,
    file_name,
    mime_type,
    XMLCdata(replace(description,''&'',''and'')) description,
    -- description,
    blob2clobase64(image,''Y'') image
    from eba_pdfimg_images
    ') xml_data from dual
    ) loop
    l_xml_data := c2.xml_data;
    end loop;
    -- download print document
    wwv_flow.g_page_text_generated := true;
    apex_util.download_print_document (
    p_file_name => 'image_demo',
    p_content_disposition => 'ATTACHMENT',
    p_report_data => l_xml_data ,
    p_report_layout => l_print_layout,
    p_report_layout_type => 'rtf',
    p_document_format => :P1_FORMAT

  • Saving A Dynamic Rights Enabled PDF as a Static PDF

    I'm searching for a solution to saving a dynamic rights enabled PDF order form as a state image once the user has completed the order form.
    I can do so via the Print Form button if I have an Adobe PDF print driver in my print list. But, if no print driver is available for Reader 9 users to download and add to their print list, the only option seems to be "File > Save As" and that will render a PDF file that is still dynamically active.
    The client wants the file to lock information before they submit it. They want to avoid a situation where someone could tamper with order information after the fact. Any suggestions on how I go about making this happen quickly?
    I have to launch a set of forms next week. Your assistance is very much appreciated!

    There's another post dealing with this that may be helpful, I've posted a link for you below.

  • MacBook won't print PDF files, it states The process "pstopdffilter" stopped unexpectedly with status 1

    Question: MacBooK won't print PDF files, after selecting print it states; The process "pstopdffilter" stopped unexpectedly with status 1. I am currently using a HP Deskjet 4400 series printer and it works fine with all our other lap top computers. Thanks for any help.

    The pictwpstops filter on OS X machines, converts the job to straight Postscript before the normal CUPS filters get it.
    If the Adobe APPs have a choice of what kind of PS to send, like Binary or ASCII, try toggling that setting to the opposite of what it is.
    Though, if a reboot fixed it then likely the problem was a remporary bit flip, which may or may not happen again.

  • Printing PDF files in jdk1.4

    Has anyone been able to print a pdf file in jdk1.4? If so...could you please provide some sample code. I have been able to print just about every DocFlavor except PDF. Thanks.

    Hi,
    I've been on a project for the past several months, and we are trying to do the exact same thing. We dynamically generate pdfs, and then wish to print them to a network printer. The problem is that the printer does not specify the "pdf" docflavor. So I guess the long term solution will be to wait for Adobe or someone else to write a java print service plug-in for printing pdf files. The work around that we used in the mean time was to invoke gsprint (part of the free ghostview) from a command line within java to print a specified pdf file. This does not however let one specify advanced print options such as "stapling", which one would be able to do if using the java print service from java1.4.
    if you find anything else out, please post to the forums...

    Hi
    Can anyone suggest me some libraries to print pdfs using Java Applets. I have tried using the SmartJPrint library but its giving me error when I try printing pdfs using applets.

    SmartJPrint web applets have changed recently and works to be fine every time. You might try these links for printing of existing pdf, pdf viewing, pdf print, pdf silent printing from a command line or silently printing a pdf from a browser page.

    Demo that print a PDF from a browser page silently.
    [This demo printing control parameters as part of the PDF url. Interestingly this pdf print demo from browser works for a remote PDF URL that dynamically generate a PDF and then prints to the printer. In this demo you have the option to enter your URL that is either a PDF or a PDF generating URL that eventually generates a PDF and then prints.]

  • Printing PDF forms to an impact printer

    Greetings,
    I hope I've found the correct forum for this question.
    We are having difficulty printing PDF forms to an impact printer.  We are required by regulations to print to multi-part forms from our GTS landscape, which is going live soon.  Since Adobe is the direction SAP is headed with forms, we have been utilizing ADS.  However, the need for impact printing has presented a problem.  Has anyone utilized PDF printing to an impact printer?  I'll list some details in case it will help.
    Printer: Lexmark Forms Printer 2590
    Backend Print Solution: HP Output Server on AIX
    SAP GTS: NetWeaver 7.0 SP17 w/ SLL-LEG 720 SP7
    Our printer has printer languages of Epson Emulation and Personal Printer Data Stream (PPDS).  Neither of these are included in the standard device types for PDF as specified in OSS Note 685571.  I do not see an appropriate XDC file to copy and modify.
    Has anyone else run into this issue and found a resolution?
    Many thanks for your assistance.
    Wesley Tollett

    the PortName should be changed accordingly.
    if you are using printer port , commonly lpt1, you should change it to lpt1
    ur command line could work , i think
    i've tried it locally in my machine, it works fine.

  • Issue printing PDF Packages

    I'm having issues printing PDF Packages.Clients have contacted us stating that our PDF Packages don't print properly. Essentially they were only able to print the "coversheet" and nothing else. I ran some test scenarios and noted that PDF Packages print feature behaved differently depending on several criterias:
    how it was viewed (ie: desktop, Firefox browser, IE browser)
    what Adobe Reader Plugin
    what command was used to access print feature (ie: file>print, ctrl + P, print icon)
    So far I've noticed that Adobe Reader utilizes two versions of the Print Dialog Box. The first one shows four choices for "Print Range" (All, Current View, Current Page, Pages...) seems to always be misconfigured and does not print as intended. The second one I've noticed seems to limit your Print Range choices (All, Current View) which usually works.
    This seems to be an Adobe bug. This Print Bug exists on both Acrobat 8 and 9, and the bug may or may not exist depending on how you view the "PDF Package" (ie: Desktop, Firefox, IE).
    If you open the PDF Package on your desktop and view via Adobe Reader for the most part it prints as expected for "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents". Although the "Print Range" is misaligned (ie: "Print All" behaves as "Current View", "Current View" behaves as "Current Page".
    If you open the PDF Package on a browser with an Adobe Reader plugin, a different scenario occurs.
    You might experience that you're locked into printing only the "coversheet" of the PDF Package.
    And again your "Print Range" might be misaligned.
    In Adobe Reader 8, a dropdown appeared when you selected "File>Print" or the "Print Icon". The dropdown then gave you an option to "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents". Which basically provided you an option to print the entire "PDF Package" or choose to print only a section of the "PDF Package".
    In Adobe Reader 9, the option to choose between "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents" was removed.
    In fact I started to document the instances to see if its an isolated issue and it looks like it fails to print (as intended) 60% of the time. Of the 40% that does print as intended... it looks like half the time the "Print Range" is misconfigured.
    Also, I've noticed that Reader utilizes two different "Print Dialog" boxes.
    The testing scenario I set up was that you can print in three different ways:
        1. File>Print
        2. <ctrl + P>
        3. <print icon>
    Three ways to view the PDF package:
        1. Download PDF Package & view on your desktop via Adobe Reader
        2. View PDF Package on Firefox w/ Adobe Reader plugin
        3. View PDF Package on Internet Explored  w/ Adobe Reader plugin
    My computer is using:
    XP Pro SP3,  Acrobat Reader 9
    I've also spot tested on:
    XP Pro SP3, Acrobat Reader 8
    Vista, Acrobat Reader 8
    Any Ideas?

    Hi Greg,
    Since this is sytem defined settings that you are trying to implement, I presume that the INI changes ought to be done in FSISYS.INI rather than the FSIUSER.INI.
    Apart from that most of your INI changes look fine as we are also using pdf as our Output type. Please find the INI change swe have implemented in our system for printing pdf.

  • Report Rendering (Print & PDF) trashes report that looks fine on screen

    Since installing SQL Server 2012 SP2 CU3 (11.0.5556) a number of reports look fine on screen but when printed or exported to PDF the format is totally altered so that either many blank lines are inserted between lines, or lines are squashed together. It
    doesn't affect all reports. Reports (both affected and not affected) use Tablix with both Row Groups and Column Groups. There is no obvious consistency between those reports that are affected.
    All of our SQL Server instances are hosted on VM-Ware virtual servers.
    I've raised the issue via Microsoft Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/1063641/report-rendering-print-pdf-trashes-report-that-looks-fine-on-screen
    Any thoughts or workarounds? Is this a bug?

  • Dynamic Images in PDF Report

    Hi,
    I want to create Badges from employee table (ID, NAME, JOB_TITLE, PHOTO). I downloaded and installed a demo application "USING DYNAMIC IMAGES IN PDF REPORT". It works fine with smale images < 20K. I'm getting the following error for images > 20K :
    "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: raw variable length too long"
    it seems like a buffer problem.
    could you pls help to solve this problem
    Thanks,
    Ribhi

    Hi Carsten
    That was exactly* I was looking for. Maybe I should Google more in German ;-)
    The main problem was that I defined my image outside the first repeating group (that doesn't repeat, it's always just one object) - the first group is followed by 7 more.
    Just like the "Name" (that's positioned outside the group in the document header), I positioned the image above the table representing the group.
    Doing that, the "Name" is filled correctly, the Image only when the Output Format is Excel or HTML - not Word or PDF ... makes no sense but that's tje way it is.
    After moving the image inside the group....it works great!
    (One more thing...the image size is fixed to the image you use as "dummy". Is there any way to make that more flexible, because now some scaling happens...)???
    @Trent: That was the way we initially did it, but when the size of the row exceeds 32K...you know what happens.. And even with a small image the 32K limit is hit easily
    The way I use it now (very similar to Carsten's description) there is no limit....
    Thank you all!
    Roel
