Dynamic HTML Content in iFrames of a BSP application

Hey Folks,
I am currently having to build a context sensitive URL, which is built dynamically and accordingly load the page within a given view during runtime. The URL points to a simple HTML page.
The application whcih is embedded in the view is a BSP application. The BSP application comprises of an iFrame which should hold the value of the URL built, within the attribute "src". Is there a way in which the value of this attribute "src" of the tag "iframe" can be populated during runtime for BSP applications?
Please do let me know of your thoughts on this.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Puja.

@Rodrigo,
Did you make sure you have included the end tag ? am not sure about this, but maybe you would need to include the htmlb page extension too?
<%@ extension name="htmlb" prefix="htmlb"%>
@Others,
My problem is that the BSP in question has been generated by a framework, the content of which i need to tweak programatically.
I forgot to make a mention of the crutial aspect that, the Page Type of my BSP application is 'View'. I could have used the oninitialization event to my convinience , had the page type of the application been 'Page with Flow Logic'. I do not have the various event processing options such as 'onInputProcessing' or 'OnInitialization' or 'OnLayout' here which I can work upon.
Has any body worked with BSPs of type 'View'. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Puja.

• HTML content sits on top of Flex application

I'm trying to load a PDF document in my AIR application using the MX:HTML component. When a popup opens, the HTML component's default behaviour is to hide the content when a popup opens and reappear when the popup disappears. This is what I would expect.
However if the HTML content is reloaded while the popup is open, the HTML content is reappearing automatically and sitting on top of the popup.
I can replicate this behaviour using Flex SDK 4.6, 4.11, 4.12 and 4.12.1.
Is this a normal behaviour? Is there a way to stop this from happening?
Here is some working sample code:

<s:WindowedApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
creationComplete="maximize()">
<s:layout>
<s:VerticalLayout/>
</s:layout>
<fx:Script>

import flash.utils.setTimeout;
import mx.managers.PopUpManager;
import spark.components.TitleWindow;
private function openPopUp():void
var popup:TitleWindow = new TitleWindow();
PopUpManager.addPopUp(popup, this, true);
PopUpManager.centerPopUp(popup);
setTimeout(function():void{html.reload()}, 1000);

</fx:Script>
<s:Button click="openPopUp()" label="CLICK"/>
<mx:HTML id="html" location="http://www.energy.umich.edu/sites/default/files/pdf-sample.pdf" width="100%" height="100%"/>
</s:WindowedApplication>

Hi,
What about if you create a separate title window as: pdf.mxml

<s:TitleWindow xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
width="800" height="600">
<mx:HTML id="html" location="http://www.energy.umich.edu/sites/default/files/pdf-sample.pdf" width="100%" height="100%"/>
</s:TitleWindow>
And call the title window as:
private var pdfWin:PDF = new PDF();
private function openPopUp():void
PopUpManager.addPopUp(pdfWin, this, true);
PopUpManager.centerPopUp(pdfWin);
popup should be gone when you reload.
I hope this help.
Best,

• Internal table content not retained in statefull BSP application.

Hi Forum,
I have a statefull BSP application with two pages.I fill an internal table ITAB in the OnInputProcessing eventhandler of first page and then transfer this ITAB to second page , but when i navigate back from second page to first page , the internal table ITAB is cleared.I need the data in ITAB when i come back to first page.
The internal tables that i fill in the OnCreate eventhandler of the first page are intact but this ITAB that i fill in OnInputProcessing is cleared.
I tried using
runtime->keep_context = 1.
but it is not helping either...and i have checked the code carefully to ensure that ITAB is not cleared anywhere using CLEAR ITAB.
ITAB is declared in PAGE ATTRIBUTES using a tabletype.
What might be the problem?
Thanks,
Anubhav.

Hi Heth,
I carried out a small test application as follwos:
1)Filled an internal table ITAB_ZSCMG in OnCreate event of first page.
2)Filled an internal table ITAB_MATERIALS in OnInputProcessing for the OnClick of button event.
When my application was stateless the internal table ITAB_ZSCMG was initial in the OnInputProcessing event .
When i switched to STATEFULL mode , it contained data in the OnInputProcessing .
3)Crearted one more page SECOND.HTM.
4)in the OnClick event for button in OnInputProcessing eventhandler i navigated back to FIRST.HTM .
Found that all the internal tables were initial , although my page was statefull.
All these ITABs were declared using Page Attributes.
So i guess , a statefull application just means that DATA is retained between different eventhandlers of the SAME PAGE and not if we navigate from that page....
Hence in my case i have to transfer the ITAB back to first page again using SERVER SIDE COOKIES..
Please correct me if my derivations are wrong!!!
But the question still remains....
How to retain data after navigation?
Do we have a solution in BSP or we need to use SET/GET or EXPORT/IMPORT or COOKIES?
Thanks,
Anubhav.

• Dynamic html content in a movie?

Hi,
Can someone tell me if it's possible to dynamically load a
HTML file into a flash movie without opening the content
into a separate browser window? i.e. Load the HTML into a
container in the movie window itself. The actual HTML file name
itself could be hardcoded in the movie if that helps...
I'm totally new to Flash and Action Script but am a
developer, so will understand if you can even just point me to an
API.
Thanks in advance.
Brian

No. You would have to parse the html using the xml class (for
instance). Or use an extension (search for tablemaker) that does
the parsing (with restrictions like content can only be in one
table). By itself Flash only supports a small subset of the html
tags. You could use an IFrame but that is pretty much asking for
trouble. And, Flash isn't a browser...

• Updated HTML content not displayed

Hi All,
In webdynpro application, I am having an HTML file in the MIME repository which I am downloading dynamically and modifying its contents and placing the edited contents in ICM cache to display the URL. But I see that the changes I have made in the HTML file has not taken place even though I see in the debug mode that the chanegs are happening. In order to test i deleted the html file manually from MIME repository and uploaded it again , but even then it displays the old contents of the deleted HTML file. ANd it is not even taking the changes that are happening in the program dynamically.
Where is that it is going wrong?

If you place the dynamic HTML content into the ICM cache, then it should have a completely different URL than the original content from the MIME repository. It would only have the same content with the different URL if that is what you placed into the Cache. Generally the Cached URLs are GUIDs. Perhaps you should post your ICM cache upload code, because if the content is the old content from the MIME repository, then you are certainly doing something wrong in the upload.

• Junk characters display while using multipart with html content in Javamail

Hi All,
I have used Java mail API to send mail with attachment. To enable to attachment in mail and to do content formatting i have used multipart and html content type together.
My web application runs on apache tomcat 5.5 in MAC server. Java version is 1.5.
The Function which i have used for sending mail with attachment is as follows:
public void sendmailAttached(String to,String from,String host,boolean debug,String mailContent,String mailSubject,String cc,String attachFiles)

There is no "sendmail" method in the JavaMail API.
The debug flag is set using the Session.setDebug method, or by setting the Session property "mail.debug".
If you're using someone else's helper classes with JavaMail, they may provide another way to set it.

• Javascript error calling a bi 7.0 webapplication from a bsp application

Hi everyone,
This is the scenario we're facing a javascript error :
Enterprise Portal is calling a custom bsp application ( via an iview in the enterprise portal ) in the bi system with a parameter "template_id" and a value, which is the technical name of a bi web application.
The bsp application is evaluating the parameter by some custom code and creating a html page with a redirect or a maintenance message to the bi web application passed with the parameter "template_id".
The html link to the bi web application is created according to this documentation :
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/46/03d4ac801467e6e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
Purpose of the bsp application :
in the bi system there is a database table to maintain a flag for each webtemplate and infocube, which should not be called via the enterprise portal for a certain time ( some kind of maintenance switch ). The bsp application then decides to show a maintenance page for the called webtemplate or to send the redirect page to the client.
The process described above is :
working with the bi 7.01 sp7 in the bi ( enterprise portal sp22 ) in the productive system.
working in the Q&A system bi 7.01 sp8 with bi 3.5 web applications.
not working in the Q&A system bi 7.01 sp8 with bi 7.0 web applications.
The javascript error calling bi 7.0 web applications is :

Is there another way than a bsp application to use this custom maintenance function in the described system setup ?

Hello everyone,
we did some further analysis on this problem und we think we found the problem.
The error occurs while trying to execute the standard url for web templates inside a Enterprise Portal Frame, for example
https://XXX:XXX/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=XXX
While executing the URL a HTML-Page with some embeded Javascript-code is sent back to the browser.
In this Javascrip-Code, the method-call "dsmObj.registerAll" leads to a script error in Internet Explorer.
dsmObj.registerAll("pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex", "GUSID:6FC9SuhGDPIMMLwOdeHEIg--_7WQud13yeLJDz2kYoQFSg--", "1307605928212");
In SP7, the method "dsmObj.registerFullKey" is called instead of "dsmObj.registerAll". This has changed in SP8.
dsmObj.registerFullKey("GUSID:iBPvyska9*xE_JBalkQG2g--YyKv2C3NToP0I79Mw7EO8w--", "1307606479963");
The object "dsmObj" seems to reference the parent frame of the Enterprise Portal.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas how we can fix this?
Kind regards,
Matthias

• Transport data from Javascript file to BSP application

Hi,
How can we transport data from Javascript file that is stored in MIME repository to the BSP application that uses this Javascript?
To elaborate :
I have a BSP application which calls few functions from a Javascript file that is stored in the MIME repository. Now, i need to pass one of the values that is obtained dynamically in the Javascript function to the BSP application inorder to store it in DB.. How can I do this?
Thanks,
Vasuki

Hi,
you must only identify in which variable the javascript function stores the values. So you can enrich
your bsp application with such a function. Then you must transfer the value to a hidden input field.
This field content can be requested via request->get_form_field( 'name_of_the_field' ).
On the other side, check out, if ther is a getter function in this library.
Use firwefox with firbug plugin an set breakpoint in the javascript function to get an overview about the dom modcel.
Best regards, Stefan

• File Upload in BSP Applications and store in Application server

Hi we have requirement to store the attachments from BSP application into the external/internal storage space connected to application server.
I search for weblogs and all talking about File Upload in BSP Applications and store in MIME Repository.
But our requirement is upload and store(no need to read the file content) attachments from BSP page into file server, and then make a link back in BSP page to open.
I know we can handle documnets in R/3 using DMS, but our system is SRM.
Please give a suggestion and solution.
Thanks,
Giri

Hi,
I faced a similar problem some time ago (uploading a file via BSP, storing it to the application server and then linking the archived document to a business object.
Here is the coding I used:
when 'SubmitUploadFile'. "OnInputProcessing
DATA: data_fileupload TYPE REF TO CL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD,
l_filename type string,
l_archiv_doc_id type SAPB-SAPADOKID,
l_content type string,
l_file_ixos(100) type c value '/transfer/PV2/aus/IXOS/',
l_file(200) type c,
tbl_bin TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF tbl1024,
wa_bin type TBL1024,
l_xstring type xstring,
l_arc_doc_id type SAPB-SAPADOKID,
l_doctype type TOADD-DOC_TYPE,
l_filename_e type DRAW-FILEP.
upload the file from the BSP web interface (e.g. file C:TempSUTestPDF_SU.pdf)
data_fileupload ?= CL_HTMLB_MANAGER=>GET_DATA(
request = runtime->server->request
name    = 'fileUpload'
id      = ‘InputFieldFileUpload’
IF NOT data_fileupload IS INITIAL.
l_filename         = data_fileupload->file_name.
l_content      = data_fileupload->file_content.
l_content_type = data_fileupload->file_content_type.
ENDIF.
The uploaded file is returned as XSTRING, so we have to convert it to BINARY
(or STRING alternatively)!
l_xstring = l_content.
CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'
EXPORTING

PF_PATH  = l_filename_c
IMPORTING
PFX_FILE = l_filename_e.
write the uploaded file to the application server
l_filename = l_filename_e.
concatenate l_file_ixos l_filename into l_file.
open dataset l_file for output IN LEGACY BINARY MODE.
loop at tbl_bin into wa_bin.
transfer wa_bin-line to l_file.
endloop.
close dataset l_file.
store the uploaded file on the IXOS-archive
l_doctype = l_content_type.
CALL FUNCTION 'ARCHIVOBJECT_CREATE_FILE'
EXPORTING
ARCHIV_ID                = '2T'
DOCUMENT_TYPE            = l_doctype
PATH                     = l_file_arc
IMPORTING

ERROR_ARCHIV             = 1
ERROR_COMMUNICATIONTABLE = 2
ERROR_UPLOAD             = 3
ERROR_KERNEL             = 4
OTHERS                   = 5.
link the archived document to the business object ‘DRAW’
CALL FUNCTION 'ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT'
EXPORTING
ARCHIV_ID                   = '2T'
ARC_DOC_ID                  = l_arc_doc_id
AR_OBJECT                   = 'DRW'
OBJECT_ID                   = g_object_id_arc
SAP_OBJECT                  = 'DRAW'
DOC_TYPE                    = l_extend
EXCEPTIONS
ERROR_CONNECTIONTABLE       = 1
OTHERS                      = 2.
Remark: It´s vital to convert the uploaded file from XSTRING to BINARY. Otherwise the file cannot be stored/archived properly.
The archived document can then be displayed by inserting the (IXOS-web client-)link to the BSP page (e.g. http://193.228.208.78:4060/archive.dll/get?arc=2T&doc=44439F1B4F701E65E1000000C1E4D00A).
Hope this helps!

• Dynamic HTML homepage content

Hi, I'm just getting started with SharePoint 2013 and would like to have the Intranet homepage page content dynamically update based on another page library.
For example, I have a sub-site with a Pages library. Similar to the Content Editor where I could retrieve the latest x number of items, all I would like to do is display the page content of the latest page created in the sub-site. The only content I care
about is the page content which will be in HTML.
Is this possible and if so how? I'm using a Publishing site if that helps, it would be nice if I could do this with the out of the box SharePoint features and functionality.
Hope I've explained it well enough! Thanks

Hi Dan,
To display the page content of the latest page in the home page, I recommend to use iframe to dynamically display the latest page.
You can use code to get the URL of the latest page in Pages Library and then dynamically update the URL in the iframe.
Here are some links for your references:
SharePoint dynamically load content into an iframe:
http://dirty-dot.blogspot.kr/2013/03/sharepoint-dynamically-load-content.html
Iterate over Pages library and get each item's properties:

• Best practice for sharing html content on different group spaces?

How can html content be shared between several group spaces?
One way I have found is to add a html doc to ucm and then to add this doc as a iframe to a page.
Are there other ways, like adding on one group space page a html layout element and then to view this content in a different space. How could this be done, with an expression language reference?
Has someone experience in presenting the same html content on different spaces and can share how he does it. Any ideas are welcome.
Thanks,
Max

Hey Max,
Check out our technical whitepaper on Integrating ECM with Portal Technologies.
Our "Fishbowl Portlets" allow you to share any content - HTML, WYSIWYG user generated content, documents etc - in multiple contexts (portlets, web apps, etc).
This is one of the things that we showcased as the recent Collaborate conference in Vegas - WebCenter framework, UCM and the portlets surfacing the same items in different contexts - all personalization aware, configurable and end user/super user editable.
The white paper can be found here:

The only current way is to use an iFrame, or if you only need some html tags you could use the Text Layout Framework.
Here this is the iFrame approach:
http://code.google.com/p/flex-iframe/
If the swc do not work in Flex4 just use its ource code which works...
...it is basically based on this:

• Writing Html Content into PDF using JSP

Dear All,
I am using JSP to generate Employee payslip dynamically. Presently i am diplaying payslip as on-screen display.
Here i want to give option "Save as PDF". I am able to create PDF file using IText Libraries. i want to integrate HTML code into the PDF file.
Writing HTML Content (using HTML Tags) into PDF.

Well it is a difficult ask and i believe we are trying to re-invent the wheel
Just to make my life simple i could have choosen either sample API given below to serve my cause
1).[http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/] (Apache FOP one can simply write an XSL template of their and then substitute the values from respective DTO's by using XSL - XML transformations and can generate content in different formats which includes PDF aswell)
2).[http://jasperforge.org/plugins/project/project_home.php?group_id=102] (Just design a simple report template using iReport and create a jrxml files and write a small code snipett such that you can pass few details at the runtime and can export the report in different formats which includes PDF aswell)
3).[http://www.object-refinery.com/jfreereport/] (Is much similar to what jasper offers in order to compile these you can either use pentaho product IDE or BEA/Oracle Actuate report tools)
You can simply try searching for different examples for getting more help on using the respective API's
Hope that helps :)

• Is there a way to display external HTML content inside a SWF movie?

IE if i wanted to have an 800x600 flash movie that i could display cnn.com or something of that sort. Is it possible?

A second option is to display the HTML content over the top of the Flash content.
If is project is to be displayed as a Web page... it's all HTML anyway.... some of which may be Flash content, some that is regular HTML content. So it's not that hard to add in a little more regular HTML content.
In your Flash movie, leave a blank space with the exact dimensions/location of the HTML content you want to display.
Then using HTML/CSS z-indexing, stack the HTML content over the top of that blank space... making it LOOK like the HTML is a part of the Flash.
If you want to display part of another Web site like cnn.com, you could do that in an iframe.
Z-indexing info here:
http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_pos_z-index.asp
http://webdesign.about.com/cs/css/a/aazindex.htm
and the iframe here:
