Dynamic HTML link in webdb
I want to create a link from a drawing name in a report to a drawing file. The link is made up of a drawing name and revision which are columns on the report. Is it possible to do this with WebDB?
Example:
drawing number = 001-1234-25
revision = A
HTML link = ftp:/[email protected]/drawings/001-1234-25.tif orev=A ofile=001-1234-25.tif
thanks...
null
Yes. In the add PL/SQL code screen, add htp.anchor('link', 'displayname', null, null), the quote is single quote.

Hi,
i want to use the Spry Framework with dynamic loaded HTML.
To do so i load HTML in an div-Element and afterwards i call
'Spry.Data.initRegions(obj);', where obj is the object of the div
with the dynamic content.
I have set: 'Spry.Data.Region.debug = true;' and this shows
me, that the dynamic HTML is parsed in the right way, but i is not
written in the div-Element. I don't know why.
My test setup is based on the 'Hijax Demo - Notes 1' from
articles/data_set_overview/index.html.
At first the XML:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<notes>
<note id='a1'><![CDATA[<p>This is some
<b>dynamic content</b> for note
1.</p>]]></note>
<note id='b2'><![CDATA[<p>This is some
<b>dynamic content</b> for note
2.</p>]]></note>
<note id='c3'><![CDATA[<p>This is some
<b>dynamic content</b> for note
3.</p>]]></note>
</notes>
Here i have added the id-attribute.
Now the HTML / Spry:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
Transitional//EN" "
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="

<b>dynamic content with Spry</b>c3</p>
Everthings semms to be ok.
But the display won't change and the alert box says, the
content has not changed.
I don't know how to say, that Spry should display the right
content.
Sincerly
HaraldThe reason it doesn't work is a bit complicated, but it goes
something like this:
Spry maintains a list of the regions on the page after the
onload event fires. When you go and call initRegions from your
"Dynamic HTML" link, it finds your region that you injected
programatically and adds that to the end of the regions list ...
but, one of the things that initRegions does after it finds and
creates regions, is it tells all of the regions in the regions list
to update themselves ... since you basically have set up a region
in a region (nested) ... the outer region recalculates its internal
content ... blowing away your nested region container ... since
spry is holding a pointer to your inner-nested region container
node, it does insert your new content, it's just that your node
isn't in the document anymore.
That all said, if all you are trying to do is replace the
template code used in the region, you can do it this way:
function writeSpry(){
var obj=$('dynamicSpry');
// Break any ties between the data set and the current region
object:
dsNotes.removeObserver(Spry.Data.getRegion('dynamicSpry'));
obj.innerHTML='<p spry:repeat="dsNotes1">This is some
<b>dynamic content with
Spry</b>{dsNotes1::@id}</p>';
// Add a region attribute so the initRegions call can find
it.
obj.setAttribute("spry:detailregion", "dsNotes1");
Spry.Data.initRegions(obj);
alert(obj.innerHTML);
I'm not going to guarantee that this will work between
versions of Spry ... but allowing folks to change the template
inside the region is definitely something on our list of things to
do. There's also some refactoring work I need to do so that you can
call some method that will allow you to turn a dom sub-tree into a
region without triggering all of the regions on the page to update
themselves. -
HTML links won't display in Dynamic Text Field
I am loading external text files in dynamic text fields on my
webage. These texts contain html links (<a href="page.html"
target="_blank">Click Here</a> and I have "render as HTML"
on and "selectable" off in my dynamic text field. Also, I am
loading a CSS file. Not only do I not have a hand cursor, but I do
not even have any of the text from that piece of html code down.
What is going on with this? Please respond asap, as I have been
struggling with this for a day now. Here is the Actionscript for
loading the CSS:
var flash_css = new TextField.StyleSheet();
flash_css.load("styles.css");
flash_css.onLoad = function(success:Boolean) {
if (success) {
zloc_txt.styleSheet = flash_css;
} else {
trace("Error loading CSS file.");
var zloc_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
zloc_lv.load("zloc.txt");
zloc_lv.onLoad = function(success:Boolean) {
if (success) {
zloc_txt.text = this.content;
} else {
trace("unable to load text file.");
zloc_txt.html = true;
zloc_txt.editable = false;
_global.styles.TextArea.setStyle("backgroundColor" ,
"transparent");
_global.styles.TextArea.setStyle("border styles" , "solid");
Here is a sample of the text file code:
&content=<span class="headline">Northwest Arkansas
Locations</span>
121 Main St.
Russellville, AK 77801
(626) 111-1111<br />
<html><a href="
http://www.mapquest.com"
target="_blank">Click Here for Driving
Directions</a></html><br />
Thanks for the help,
ChuckThe error is here:
zloc_txt.text = this.content;
Even if you rendered the textfield as HTML, you still need to
tell flash that the variable you are inserting is HTML. Therefore
you need to use the htmlText property.
zloc_txt.htmlText = this.content; -
Struts - HTML:link tag with dynamic page attribute?
I am trying to use the html:link but the page value is dynamic (resulting from the bean within the iterate tag). The code below doesn't work - error. Is there a way to use all Struts tags and make this happen. Any ideas?
<logic:iterate id="myMenuForm" property="menuItem" scope="session" name="menuForm" > <html:link page="<bean:write name="myMenuForm" property="menuDisplayName"/>"> <bean:write name="myMenuForm" property="menuDisplayName"/> </html:link> </logic:iterate> Thanks,
mlvThanks for all your help. Based on all you your comments, it is now working
and I thought I would provide some details about how I got it working.
There are not that many examples within the Struts documentation.
id = unique name for the object that can be referenced within the iterate
tag.
name = is the Bean, in this case it's the ActionForm, that contains the List
object that will be iterated. In my case, I have a ActionForm that contains
a List property that contains all the menu item rows from the databse.
property = is the property name within the ActionForm that is the List
object. Links to the getter method
Within the <bean:write> tag you use the id name to get a handle on the final
object from the iterate tag and the property is one of the property values
within the bean that is contained within the List.
So in this case I have a ActionForm bean that contains a List property that
contains a collection of beans.
FormAction - bean
property menuItems of type List contains:
- row 1 = bean (with a property of menuDisplayName)
- row 2 = bean (with a property of menuDisplayName)
- row 3 = bean (with a property of menuDisplayName)
Here's the JSP code for the tag.
<logic:iterate id="myMenuForm" name="menuForm" property="menuItem" >
<html:link page="www.yahoo.com"/>
<bean:write name="myMenuForm" property="menuDisplayName"/>
</html:link>
</logic:iterate>Now I would like to make the <html:link> page attribute value dynamic from
the iterate bean. Therefore, you can make the url for the link dynamic If
you know how to do that, please feel free to provide some help. -
Displaying multiple dynamic html pages within a single Portal folder.
Hi all,
Question: How can I display multiple dynamic html pages that are linked to each other, within a single portal folder?
History:
I have a designer/web server application (PL/SQL packakges) on Oracle
8.1.7. Early in the development process we built it into WebDB2.2 and
used folders on the left side as a navigation bar and the contents of my packages on the right side. This was easy, WebDB used Frames.
Unfortunatley I could never automatically display a PL/SQL item in the folder area.
Now I need to integrate the application into Portal 3.0 not the early adopters version, the one with 9iAS (NT for now, Unix later). I have a page/content area divided into regions and a navigation portlet on the left side containing links to PL/SQL folders whose contents are displayed on the right side. On the right side I have (for example) a Queryview. When I click on any of the buttons (i.e. Find, New), I land in a new page outside of my portal folder. This page contains a dynamically built list (from one or more DB Tables) and of course the first column contains a list of links that bring you to the individual item. How do I set my links or configure my folder to display
within the portal folder area?Hi,
One alternate is, increase the size of your screen, for this go to the layout of your screen and increase it as much you want, and also the custom container size, so that no scroll bar will appear at least.
Other solution would be, as you said ALVs will be dynamical, it will be good to create buttons, or links on the screen based on the no of ALVs dynamically and on click of corresponding button call the corresponding ALV.
But i dont think this will serve, first check the first option.
Hope this helps u.,
Thanks & Regards,
Kiran. -
Can I use a report item as a parameter in an html link.
I have a report (build using the Query Wizard) that selects and
shows data from a database on a seperate system (via a database
link). The first column of the report gives an ID Number that I
want to use as part of an html link to display the full details
of the item.
So if the item on the report has a value of 123456 I want my
html link to create a url of http://system/plsql/show_details?
thingid=123456
Any ideas?We are using dynamic pages to accomplish that goal. The links
actually go to items/folders within portal, but it would be the
same thing.
I have found using the combination of links and reporting tools
to be very limited on the site when it comes to trying to create
links to things other than forms or other reports. That is
probably 90% ignorance on my part, but I have not been able to
accomplish this in any way other than a dynamic page.
Any suggestions on building a dynamic link within a portal
created report to a portal page/item would be appreciated.
I have also tried to concatenate in a <a href> tag in a SQL
Query based report, but generally errors. We have also created
a view that creats the link for us, that could be another option
for you, if the link is static.
Good Luck and hope my ramblings make sense.

Adding a html link to a carousel
i have followed a tutorial to build a flash craousel and have had no problems in building that. i wanted to add a html link to a section of the carousel but everything i have tried up to now has failed. All the information is passed through to the carousel from an xml file and everything works fine except for the link.
i have slightly modified the tutorial so i have an extra box on the information page which holds the web address for the site they are looking at in the portfolio. i have the address showing up but i cannot use the text as a link.
the box that i am putting it in is a dynamic text box which has been set up with the following settings
theLink.html = true;
theLink.htmlText = t.Link;
so as far as i know these are set to be able to handle html tags/code but they are not playing games.
i have tried to pass the link through to the swf file from the xml file with the following code but this just seem to break the whole application.
Link="<![CDATA[<a href='http://www.acmeart.co.uk/pip_new']]"
to view how i have the file working upto now please view the link below.
http://acmeart.co.uk/carousel
i feel the problem is not with the flash application but more with how i am trying to pass the html link over to the application from the xml file. i will attach the xml file to the post.What I had in mind was to place the link inline in your text. Something like this:
<item name="valley" full="assets/valley.png"
title='Book - CD ROM'
body='This product was a Shockwave holiday card. It began as a jigsaw puzzle. As the puzzle was solved, it opened and displayed the holiday greeting. <a href="http://www.amazon.com" >Purchase a copy.<a\>'>
</item>
The url is right in the text. The html markup is escaped as html entities. -
Afternoon all,
Can anyone help me with an issue I'm having with my first struts project, I'm learning as I go.
Anyway, I'm trying to create a bog standard hypertext link which passes a value back to a specified struts action. The flow of the application
is as follows:
1) search.jsp
User enters a name and postcode to search on, then click submit
2) searchAction
Struts action 'search' is called and does the search in a back-end db.
Each result found from search is created as a javabean (named resultsBean), and added to a list object. The list object is set as a request
attribute named 'SearchResults'.
The action is then forwarded on to another jsp page named results.jsp
3) results.jsp
The results.jsp page retrieves the list object from the 'SearchResults' attribute and loops through each entry
in the list and converts each entry to the 'resultsBean' javabean object.
Each resultsBean object has a getVirtualID method which stores a string value. This value is retrieved and a hypertext link is created which
passes this value on to another struts action named 'select'.
When this link is clicked on, the select struts action is called and the value passed as a parameter is retrieved.
This is the part I can't get to work, I can't get the link to render properly. When I click the link the select action retrieves
& lt;%= resultsBean.getVirtualID() & gt; as the value of the parameter 'vid' instead of the value stored in the getVirtualID method of the resultsBean.
Listed below is the code from my results.jsp page. If anyone can help me get this to work I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance,
Alex

<div id="column" align="right" style="width: 120px;"><%= resultsBean.getReferenceIcons(portletResponse) %></div>
<div id="column" style="width: 13px;"></div>
<div id="column" style="width: 22px;"><input id="<%= resultsBean.getVirtualId() %>" name="ckbox" type="checkbox" value="" title="tick to select for merging" style="border: 0px solid #ffffff;"></div>
</div>
<% }
} %>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<br />
<br />
<html:link forward="/searchpage">Return to search page</html:link>If you have part of an attribute dynamic, you need to make the entire attribute an expression.
ie instead of
page="/select.do?vid='<%= resultsBean.getVirtualId() %>'"
it has to be
page="<%= "/select.do?vid=" + resultsBean.getVirtualID() %>"
However for my approach, I would aim for zero scriptlets, and use the struts tags even more. For instance instead of an iterator, use the struts logic:iterate tag (or the JSTL c:forEach>
Also instead of div tags, I would use html table tags - <table> <tr><td> etc etc. Thats what its for right?
Here is at least some of it rewritten with struts tags.
I left out the div tags so I could focus on the "important" stuff.
<logic:iterate id="resultsBean" name="SearchResults">
<html:link styleClass="results" page="/select.do" paramId="vid" paramName = "resultsBean" paramProperty="virtualId">
<bean:write name="resultsBean" property="fullName"/>
</html:link>
<bean:write name="resultsBean" property="fullAddress"/>
<%= resultsBean.getReferenceIcons(portletResponse) %>
<input id="<%= resultsBean.getVirtualId() %>" name="ckbox" type="checkbox" value="" title="tick to select for merging" style="border: 0px solid #ffffff;">
</logic:iterate>I'm not entirely certain what you are doing with that checkbox at the end. They all have the same name, but no value. You couldn't identify at the server end which one was clicked.
Hope this helps some,

How to include HTML link in BI Publisher Report?
Hi,
I am trying to include an HTML link in a BI Publisher report. But I get the HTML Code, not the link.
I have put this in the Data Set SQL Query:
select id_constancia, rfc, apellido_paterno, apellido_materno, nombre, e_mail_empleado,
'a href="http://dbxserver.dbxprts.com:7778/pls/apex/f?p=134:1:::NO::P1_ID_CONSTANCIA:'||ID_CONSTANCIA||'">CITA</a ' as liga_cita
from geiq_constancias
where entregada = '0' and sust_rh = '0'
And I have included the field LIGA_CITA in the rtf template,
But I get this in the HTML output:
=======
Please clic on the link below to log into the system:
a href="http://dbxserver.dbxprts.com:7778/pls/apex/f?p=134:1:::NO::P1_ID_CONSTANCIA:1183">CITA</a
=========
(I removed the beginning and ending '<''>' to prevent the text to be shown as a link)
I have put the property "Make HTML output accessible" to TRUE in the report configuration, but nothing changes.
Does anyone know how to make this work?
Thanks.
FranciscoHi Francisco,
Note:
your xml should only have
<URL>http://dbxserver.dbxprts.com:7778/pls/apex/f?p=134:1:::NO::P1_ID_CONSTANCIA:1183</URL>
Show me your sample XML , i can help you.
What is your expected output ? PDF or HTML ?
here it is.
option1:
If the XML data includes an element that contains a hyperlink , then you can use that element to create dynamic hyperlinks at runtime.
a. insert hyperlink from word menu
b. In the Type the file or Web page name field of the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, enter the following syntax:
c. {ELEMENT_NAME_WHICH_HAS_URL_LINK}
where ELEMENT_NAME_WHICH_HAS_URL_LINK is the xml data element name
option2:
create a form field, you can add it
<fo:basic-link external-destination="http://www.google..com">
<fo:inline text-decoration="underline">google Link</fo:inline>
</fo:basic-link>
or
<fo:basic-link external-destination="{ELEMENT_NAME}">
<fo:inline text-decoration="underline">google Link</fo:inline>
</fo:basic-link>
or
<fo:basic-link>
<xsl:attribute name="external-destination"><xsl:value-of select="ELEMENT_URL"/>
</xsl:attribute>
<xsl:value-of select="LINK_NAME"/>

HTML Link -AS2 fine, AS3 weird behaviour
Hi Guys, I'm working on a project at the moment, and am
seeing weird behaviour with the way my swf handles html links
inside dynamic textboxes. When rendered as a AS2 file, the link
works on a release as expected. When its inside a AS3 file the link
will only work if the user right click and chooses 'open in new
window' was there a change in behaviour how AS3 handles these
links, or is there now an declaration needed to be made to allow
these link to have the old behaviour?
The project calls for xml data and embedded in that is a html
link. Originally I thought it might have been the way I'd formed
the xml so I tried with a hardcoded version instead (dynamic
textbox, add text -> highlight -> add link through properties
tab). But I still see the same behaviour between the as2 and as3
versions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.Actually, the ''href'' attribute is supposed to direct the browser to a new URL, etc., not run a script. Instead, use the ''onclick'' event attribute:
''<a onclick = “$('.div-feedback').fadeIn();”></a>''.
Happy coding! -

A dynamic partner link for very distinct services.
Hello,
Is possible to create a dynamic partner link for very distinct services. for examples 10 services has different operation names, inputs, outputs.
Thank you.Hello,
You could use an Oracle Services Registry ( UDDI ) to store the WSDL and dynamically select the needed WSDL.
Here is the general idea :

Partner Link URL/WSDL or Dynamic Partner link
We are using a service similar to CreditRatingService in orderBooking Tutorial as a partner link.
The partner has different test vs production service.
I was wondering during deplyment on production is it possible to specify the URL in config file or do I have to change the designtime location in jdev and then deploy it in prod.
Can experienced folks here point me to deployment best practices ?
Part2 : Where does dynamic partner link fit in ?JDeveloper is using ANT and is using a properties file during the compilation. You can change the properties when you want to deploy.

Dyn PL are usefully when you want to call multiple/various web services that all take the same payload, but are using different end-points and operation. This reduces the code to make for every interface an PL. -
