How could you generate an incrementing batch-number per set number of rows for a table in SQL?
The returned result set of the SQL query should show a preceding batch number per row set and incremented by 1 for the next row set.
Eg, you want to start the batch_number by 1 for the first three returned rows of the table and than increment by 1 for the next three rows.
The result set would look like:
BATCH_NO, TAB_COL1, TAB_COL2, TAB_COL3, TAB_COL4, ..

Many thanks guys, I would have never thought about these options.. Yes the reason for adding the preceding batch number has to do with migrating data from a source table where we only can grab small sets of rows at the time to bring across to a target table.

How to set number of rows in "Rows Per Page Selector" in Interactive Report

Hi Guys,
Is there any way to set the number of rows in "Rows Per Page Selector" in Interactive Report. By default it is set to 15.
I know one way is to change the number of rows when you are running the report and then set that as 'Default Report Setting'.
If anybody is aware of any other way, please let me know.

If you meant the amount of rows within the analysis item you can use following command within your analysis item:

How do I specify how many rows will be displayed when I publish a workbook as a Portal Portlet ? I tried to set the number of rows per page using Plus, but this is not reflected in the portlet.

Show alert in row of Report Region

Hi,
I've a report region containing say 30 rows and columns:
1. Error_reason
2. Error_code
3. Action (apex_item.select_list values 'No Action','Incorrect','Valid')
If 'Valid' is chosen then Error_code will be processed i.e. record will move to master table.
Now if already this Error_code is present in master table there is a validation process which runs when clicked SUBMIT and should show an alert showing a red cross next to the column Action for that row or mark the row red.
How can it be implemented?
Can I use apex_item.text(value 'X') with hidden=false from validation process where error_code is present in master table?
Please suggest ASAP.

Why do you need in the Submit processing when you can identify them when the report displays? You could even suppress the duplicated rows from displaying !

Setting number of rows and columns

How do I set the number of rows and columns of a table, say 2348 rows by 3 columns?
Then how do I quickly select the last row?
Also, if I enter a formula in row 1 column 2, how do I quickly copy that formula down to row 1435, or to the end of the column? Dragging seems slow and awkward.

The process that you describe is inefficient.
The efficient one is :
create a table
enter the formulas in a single row
delete the rows below.
Now, each newly inserted row will contain the formulas.
From my point of view, it's when this is done that it will be interesting to apply a script adding rows.
Here is a script inserting rows.

Thanks for the question and Destin Joy’s reply. Please try to add the filter in the dataset level rather than the data region
level. Detail steps as below.
1.
Double-click the dataset name in the Report Data window, click Filters in the left panel.
2.
Click Add button, choose Admission Date in the Expression drop-down list. Type in the Value textbox with the parameter name: @selectDate.
3.
Right-click the cell that your identified by the red circle, select Expression, type in it with:
=CountRows("DataSetName")

Dynamically set number-columns-spanned

Hi all,
I have a cross tab which has a dynamic number of columns. Each column has a header "Location" (which is determined by the data), but the table also has a master header "Volume" which should span all of the locations. How can I acheive this?
I currently have:
<xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="block" name="number-columns-spanned">2</xsl:attribute> Volumne
But this is obviously static.

How to set number of Rows of a table to be displayed based on user action?

Hi Experts,
I am getting data into the table. But only 5 records are displayed default. I want it to be a user selection.
If user wishes to see 10 records, then first 10 records should get displayed. If user selects 'n' records then 'n' records should get displayed..

And then for every column put a condition (Function returning boolean) like this:

where 1 in my case is the return lov value.
This is if your shuttle's return value is numeric and display value is varchar2. If both are varchar2 use instr as Howard suggested.
Its probably not as fancy as the Jquery one but gets the job done.

Dynamically set template for Print Quote report

We need to customize "Print Quote" in Quoting
As part of this we will be having 2 custom templates (will be related to data definition "Quote Printing", ASOPRT).
These two templates have to be defaulted based on the quote status - one for status "Approved", and the other template for other non "Approved" statuses.
How can this be achieved dynamically? (OAF CO customization / personilization)
There doesn't seem to be any setup for assigning different templates based on status.
Profile option "ASO: Default Layout Template" can be utilized to change the default template, but we need this template to be defaulted dynamically based on the Quote status.

Dynamically set number of sockets in parallel mode

I am new to teststand (been programing LabVIEW for a long time)
I know this is do-able but not sure where to implement it - hoping for an example.
Before the 'Test UUTs' entry point I would like a message popup;
- based on the user button pressed I would like to set the number of sockets to either 3 or one (three sockets when running in auto mode, one socket if running in manual mode) all within Parallel model (can't change models on the fly)
ideally I would like the entire thing encased in a loop that would ask "auto, manual, exit" so that a manual session could be run, and at the completion one or more sessions in auto mode before exiting.
SO WITHIN EITHER A MANUAL OR AUTO SESSION 'NEXT UUT' WOULD STILL BE AVAILABLE, and after exiting from next uut the outer loop would still allow switching session modes
the loop would need to be right up front so the number of sockets could be set before the mode options are loaded.
if there is an example of a modified parallel process model that has similar mods, I would be very gratefull,

Error while dynamically setting logo image in Crystal Report 2008

Hi,
We have embedded Crystal Report 2008 JRC in our web application which is an Enterprise Archive (EAR) deployed on WebSphere Application Server.
The RPT files bundulled in the archive displays a logo which is dynamicalli picked up by the RPT files from a configured location. Due to this the Report generation crashes when travesed to the sub reports/ groups within RPT. We have observed that this problem never occures if the logo is hard coded within the RPT files.
The report crashing causes another big problem, it crashes the Applciation Server too. This is major concern to us and we need a resolution to this problem.
