Dynamic Tab Access Control?

Is there a way to set up dynamic tab access control? For instance if I wanted a professor to only have Shared access to a particular tab in a course page is there a way to define the credential to indicate which tab they should have access to?
Thanks,
Jason

I haven't tried this, but I think you could create a new course template that uses the instructor and student roles, and set the access control option in that to allow an instructor shared access to a given tab. New courses based on that template would use the same permissions. I don't think there's any need to include access control information in the credential itself (as the credential is just used for authentication; iTunes U itself decides what you get to).
Or am I missing something in your question?

  • Adding tabs dynamically at runtime for a tab navigator control

    Hi,
    Is it possible in flex builder 2 to dynamically add the tabs
    at runtime to the tab navigator control, if we can add plz tell the
    procedure to do that
    thanks in advance

    Given that you had a tab navigator declared in mxml like
    this:
    <mx:TabNavigator id="myTabber" selectedIndex="0">
    </mx:TabNavigator>
    you should just be able to call the addChild method, passing
    the child tab containers. So for example, in some ActionScript
    event handler:
    var newTab:Canvas = new Canvas();
    myTabber.addChild(newTab);
    bear in mind I haven't done this by adding tabs, but have
    done tons with adding controls to an application at runtime using
    this method (DataGrids, Grid, GridItems, etc...)

  • [Dynamic Tabs UI Shell Template] Access AM from main page

    Hi
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1
    I have a doubt about UI Shell Template. I'm using this template and this user data map implementation to store user preferences:
       http://andrejusb.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/solution-for-sharing-global-user-data.html
    I use this solution because I need to share the user language in the view layer and the BC layer (some viewObjects depend of language)
    I have a use case where I need to change the user data map from a managed bean (the user changes your favorite language from UI). Because I use the UI Shell template with several BTF in ADF libraries I don't know how can I access the application modules of these BTFs or the DataControls from the managed bean in the main project that contain the home page based on the UI Shell Template.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi User,
    you need to look for customizing the UI shell template.

  • Dynamic Access Control : Suggested Value Claim

    Currently studying for my 70-417 Exam, there's one thing i don't fully understand and can't find any resources that explain it.
    A claim type can be created, from what I understand the "suggested values" are optional, these can remain empty like for example the department resource property.
    But why is there an suggested value option for the department?

    Hi,
    When we create a new claim type, in the Suggested Values section, click No values are suggested.
    But search for the department attribute in the Filter box and make sure that the
    department string is highlighted in the results. Add Finance and
    HR as suggested values.

  • Controlling the menubar and toolbar in Dynamic tab shell.

    Hi,
    I am using the Dynamic tab shell template in my application, and will load the page fragments (in a new tab) in the adf region embeded in the shell page as and when required. I have defined the 'menu bar' and the 'toolbar' with their items in the 'globalToolbar' facet of the template hence they are rendered in all the pages. My requirement is that I want to control the 'toobar' and 'menubar' from the page(fragment) I am in. That means, I want to 'enable/disable', 'show/hide' the menu items/toolbar items depending on the page fragment I have loaded. Is there a way to achieve this?
    Thanks.

    Sorry, it just works this way. I made a test page
            <af:pageTemplate viewId="/oracle/ui/pattern/dynamicShell/dynamicTabShell.jspx" value="#{bindings.pageTemplateBinding}" id="pt1">
              <f:facet name="copyright"/>
              <f:facet name="about"/>
              <f:facet name="navigation"/>
              <f:facet name="globalLinks"/>
              <f:facet name="status"/>
              <f:facet name="globalToolbar"/>
              <f:facet name="globalSearch"/>
              <f:facet name="globalTabs"/>
              <f:facet name="welcome"/>
              <f:facet name="innerToolbar"/>
              <f:attribute name="logoImagePath" value="/images/LOGO.jpg"/>
            </af:pageTemplate>and can see the image. You might not see the image at design time, but once you run the page the image shows up OK.

  • Dynamic Tab UI Shell - close tab action & number of open tabs control

    Hi,
    I browsed through the forum, but could not get hold of any concrete solution for the question on how to capture the close tab action event and perform some action on that?
    The below thread discusses my question but does not appear to have a proper solution
    Re: Dynamic Tab UI Shell: controlling the Close icon
    And one other question is, currently in the TabContext the number of open tabs is set to 15 limit. How can I override that such that I do not allow more than 7 tabs open at a time?
    Please help me with the above two queries. Thanks !
    Regards,
    SS

    Sorry for so much delay. Finally, got some time to play with the template and downloading the dynamicTabTemplate source code and overriding the closeIcon worked like a charm.
    Let me summarize what I did to help someone who is looking for this :)
    1) Downloaded the source code for dynamicTabTemplate
    2) Added and additional attribute closeTab to the template
    +<attribute>+
    +<attribute-name>closeTab</attribute-name>+
    +<attribute-class>java.lang.String</attribute-class>+
    +<required>+
    true
    +</required>+
    +</attribute>+
    2) edited the dynamicTabShell.jspx, closeIcon commanlink actionListener to be bound to "#{viewScope.tabContext.closeIcon}"
    3) Implemented the closeIcon method in TabContext
    +@Override+
    +public void closeIcon(ActionEvent actionEvent) {+
    CloseIconInterface bean = getBean();
    bean.closeIcon(actionEvent);
    +}+
    4) Generated the jar.
    5) Removed the oracle provided default dynamicTabTemplate jar and instead added my custom generated jar to the application
    6) Applied the new template
    7) Set all the attributes along with the new closeTab attribute. This would take the BackingBean name...example: <f:attribute name="closeTab" value="#{xxxScope.xxxBean}"/>
    8) Made xxxBean to implement CloseTabInterface
    9) Implemented the closeIcon method with custom code to confirm page close before removing the Tab.
    However like you said, i'll keep tab on future updates to the default tab template updates to not miss any bug fixes or enhancements.
    Thanks everyone who looked into this for me and Hope this helps someone else :)...Good luck !

  • Dynamic Access Control from PowerShell

    Hi Guys
    Please I need your help, I am working with AD Dynamics Access Control (AD DAC)  and Windows Powershell (PS), the Idea is create a menu for AD DAC in PS, Everything is OK but I have a problem when I create  a new  ClaimType, because from AD DAC
    windows  Menu you can select an AD Attribute and there is a Column naming  "Value Type" , but in my Script I Don't know how to get this to show in OUT-GridView, I dont know what is the correct property.
    My Code:
    Get-ADObject -SearchBase ((Get-AdRootDSE).SchemaNamingContext) -SearchScope 1 -filter *  -Property name, Ldapdisplayname | out-gridview -outputmode Single
    Sorry But I can't put my image here
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Change the -Property parameter to a wildcard and check the output. Once you know what property you need (assuming it is actually listed), you can add it to your current list.
    As for posting screenshots, you'll need to post in the current verification thread stuck at the top of this forum here:

  • Dynamic Tab UI Shell: controlling the Close icon

    Hi,
    When I open dynamic Tab in page, along with the Tab, close icon will appear to close the Tab.
    By default I have to show a Tab that should not be closed at any time.
    Could anybody suggest how to implement this?
    Thanks,
    Vinod

    The source code for the UI Shell is available here (search for .zip in the page): http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/uishell-093084.html
    Basically make your own cut of the shell, and add whatever functionality you want to the page template.

  • WRT 120 Internet Access Control Problem for itouch

    I've just set up my router. Cannot seem to control access to the internet for my son's itouch. The router recognizes it on the map as a wireless device part of the network, but it will not show up in the menu that allows for internet access control. My lap top shows up, but no itouch. I'm running Windows XP home premium edition - not sure if this makes a difference.

    Open the linksys setup page...Under the Wireless tab,Change the Channel Width to 20MHz only,Channel to 11 and click on save settings...Under the Advanced Wireless Settings,Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...
    On the I-Touch..Go to Settings>>>General>>>Reset>>>Now select Reset Network Settings.This will now reboot and restore you network connections.

  • Using Dynamic Tabs in 11gR2 doesn't seem to work.

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to use the Dynamic Tabs Template in an ADF 11.1.2.3 application using JHeadstart 11.1.2.1.28.
    According to the developerguide section 9.3.1. (Enabling Dynamic Tabs) it should be rather easy to do this.
    Set PageTemplate to : /common/pageTemplates/JhsDynamicTabsPageTemplate
    Set datacontrolscope to : Isolated
    Set Default group Usage to : Region with Page Fragments.
    Set Default group Region Access to : Common UI Shell Page.
    I use facelets as viewtechnology.
    Generating the application works fine.
    Running the application results in an error at startup :
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /common/regions/DynamicTabs.jsff Not Found in ExternalContext as a Resource
    The pagetemplate can't find the reference. The file is nowhere near /common/regions/DynamicTabs.jsff. I actually cannot find it at all.
    I can reproduce this behavior on two different workstations.
    All of the above works smoothly in 11gR1.
    I think it's a bug, at least it looks like it.
    What do you think ?
    Regards Luc

    Hi Steven,
    it is time for "Ripley's believe it or not" I guess....
    I am definitely able to reproduce the behavior.
    1) Create new ADF fusion webapp
    2) Create new ADF BC.
    2a) Connection = HR.
    2b) create EO, VO for Employees and Departments and also create default AM.
    No adjustments, everything default.
    3) Refresh Datacontrol palette to have new DC available
    4) Enable JHeadstart on ViewController project
    5) Create new Service Definition. Accept all the defaults.
    6) Go to application Definition and make the following adjustments
    6a) Set PageTemplate to : /common/pageTemplates/JhsDynamicTabsPageTemplate
    6b) Set datacontrolscope to : Isolated
    7) Apply, Save all and generate.
    During generation the /common/regions/DynamicTabs.jsff is not added to the project.
    Running the new application results in
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /common/regions/DynamicTabs.jsff Not Found in ExternalContext as a Resource
    Versions :
    ADF 11.1.2.3
    JHeadstart 11.1.2.1.28
    Windows 7 64bit
    And I also have the OraFormsFaces extension installed. Could that be causing the problem ??
    I do not use it in this project, but the fact that it is there and that it is available as in the New gallery ....--> JHeadstart --> JHeadstart OFF Generator indicates that OFF does influence JHS in some way ?
    Regards
    Luc

  • Problems using access control in sender agreement for SOAP adapter 7.1

    I am trying to use Access Control Lists to restrict user access to web services/interfaces which are exposed via PI. This can be configured via the Integration Builder Directory using the u201CAssigned Usersu201D tab of both Communication Components (Business System) and Sender Agreements.
    The configuration is via the above mentioned components. However, I understand that itu2019s the adapters which at runtime are responsible for actually applying these checks.
    I have been having problems getting the access control to work using a setup involving a SOAP adapter of type SAP BASIS 7.10.
    The symptom of the problem is that although the access control works as expected at the Business System level, any settings at the Sender Agreement level appear to have absolutely no effect whatsoever.
    I have confirmed that I have no problems if I use an adapter of type SAP BASIS 7.00. However, I really need to get this working on 7.1.
    I have looked on the SAP support portal but can not find any notes that relate to this.
    Has anyone else had a similar problem? And have you found a fix for it?
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

  • Access Control Rule Set deletion in GRC 10

    Greetings,
    Has anyone tried deleting rulesets or have experienced any issues while deleting rule sets in GRC 10. I have tried to delete them from SPRO as well as from Setup Tab in Access Control , however its not working for me . Even in SPRO , after chooseing the physical system and logical system infromation , it stays on that screen for ever and nothing happens.
    Any help or guidance here will be much appreciated.
    Thanks everyone for your valueable time.
    Vikas

    Hey ,
    There are no tricks or tips.  It was something stupid on my part.
    I Just had a look at the system again and found a function left in the system which was mapped to this Ruleset , so that was the only i was not able to delete the ruleset . As soon as i deleted that function , it worked .
    So i was able to delete the entire rule set after deleting all the risks and functions mapped to this rule set.
    Have a great day ahead ...
