Dynamic template report to evdre
Hi Gurus
I have few old reports developed using dynamic template of BPC. Now client want then to be developed ( converted ) in evdre.Kindly suggest me the various approach to this migration/conversion to evdre.

Hi SN,
As suggested, the dynamic templates are already created using EVDRE function. Just to make sure, expand all the rows and the columns of your template. In the cell A1, you should be able to see the EVDRE function. This means that the template has been designed using the EVDRE function.

Dynamic template report zero suppression
Hi
I have a report which was developed using dynamic template and it works fine. When I configure the zero suppression for row ( yes in control ) yes, it suppress the rows with zero in first column. So it suppress the row which has some values in second column but zero in first row. It does not suppress the rows if the first column has values but second column has zero.What I want ? to suppress zero only when all the columns ( 2 in my case ) has zero values. I donu2019t see any other configuration option in control. Can some one guide me how to suppress zero only when all the columns in any row is zero.

If both columns are part of the EVDRE (included in the column range and pulled from the server) then this is not the correct behavior. What version of BPC are you on (7.0/7.5, and support pack)?
If the second column is not populated with data from the server, then this could happen, depending on how you have built your EVDRE.
Can you provide more detail about how the columns are populated?

Dynamic Template report on multiple tab
Hi
I am trying to develop reports using dynamic template .Now I want another template on another Tab ( work sheet ) on same work book .Can any body suggest me how to do it ?
Let me explain in another way. I want multiple template reports on multiple tab of same work book.When I go to next new blank sheet , I don't get reporting option on action pane.

SNPerhaps you could solve this using existing Excel functionality as follows:
Right click on the worksheet name of the sheet with the existing report (eg. Trend)
Select Move or Copy
Choose the Create a Copy check box
Click OK
if building an EVDRE on the new sheet, you could type =EVDRE() then click on the Refresh Workbook button in the BPC toolbar. -
Cannot open a report I just saved via Save a Dynamic Template
Hi All,
I am on BPC 5.1 SP9, working in Office 2007.
The problem is happen sporadically, where I save a report using Save a Dynamic Template. Then try to open up the report I just saved, and the report does not open. Sometimes if I resave the report via Save Dynamic Templates, I can reopen up the report. If that does not work, I go back into Save Dynamic Template, and save it to a new name, and see if I can get the report to open.
The strange thing is I can save the report to my desktop, then go into BPC. Every time I open the report from my desktop it always runs.
Not sure if anyone has seen this before?Does your template have an Excel 2007 4 digit extension?
There is a known issue with BPC 5.1 sp7 or higher service pack and Excel 2007 format extensions (SAP Note 1347243)
Files with Excel 2007 Extension such as XLSX and XLTX, (saved and opened repeatedly via eTool -> Save / Open Dynamic Templates menu) may have issues where the template will not open.
The problem does not exist with BPC 70M sp3 or higher.
The note also has a possible workaround; suggesting renaming the template on the File Share Server and then opening the re-named template via Open Dynamic Templates menu.

REPORTS folder does not appear when refreshing dynamic templates
Hi all,
I got one issue when refreshing dynamic templates. For one application, the REPORTS folder does not appear under Eexcel folder.
It works well on my quality environment, but it fails on production server.
It seems there is no differences in security settings, SP version...
I already tried deleting Outlooksoft folder, clear and refresh local folder in client options...
I must miss something but I dont know what to check anymore.
Any suggestion is welcome.

I do not have issue with what you mention, everything is ok in Webfolder.
The problem is in the local folder of every user in My Documents folder.
There is a folder Outlooksoft there that is refreshed automatically after connecting to BPC.
Every reports under REPORTS\WIZARDS should be there. Users need to access this folder to open a specific report.
What is strange is that it looks that it works for some users, but does not work for some other users...
Might be security settings?

Dynamic template/layout creation in report for web

I need some info on how to create dynamic template in report 3.0,
I have to develope one report and it does not have a predefined

I worked on the same requirement but from a service perspective. So below are the activities I maintained to achieve this.
1. Create a service order template type (copy of std).
2. Maintain the copy control settings for both header and items to the service order quotation.
3. Create Service Order Templates and enter the commonly used items in the template. Release the service order template.
4. When creating a service order quote - at the item level, you can see the button "Copy from Template". Click on this
5. This opens up a pop-up where in you can search for all released service order templates.
6. Select the one you need, the items maintained in that order template is copied over to the service order quote.
So the user does not need to enter all the items manually. This is how you user order templates. Please note that it copied only the items, not the header details of the service order template.

Dynamic templates return #RFR# data
Hi Guys,
I have a problem on OUTLOOKSOFT 5, SQL2005 where all the dynamic templates (including Any by Any) on the server return a #RFR# error when trying to retrieve data on all reports. I also tried retrieving data through EVDRE, but Outlooksoft still returns an "ERRORS FOUND RETRIEVING DATA".
I can browse and process data on the cube successfully. I have processed all the dimensions and applications in Outlooksoft admin successfully...

How to create dynamic Invoice report based on Tax calculations

I have an invoice report requirement. There are multiple line items in invoice and each line item will have a tax % and discount associated with it. Discount has to be applied at line item level. Tax will be applicable on resultant amount which respect to tax share on total amount. Below is example

I have created a static rtf which does all calculations correctly. I have hardcoded 12.5 and 4 % tax values for calculations. But issue is that taxes are changeable in future so I want to create dynamic template which takes care for tax calculations. I thought of to create an array to store distinct tax values from XML data and then to perform calculation but don’t know how to do that.
Can some body help me out as this is very critical and urgent?
Note: Tax calculation can be done at line item level itself but there are some scenarios where additional discounts are there so tax calculation can not be done at line item level.

I installed SAP Integration Kit 3.1. Yes I installed the integration kit after installing CR.
I have uninstalled the earlier version and i have reinstalled CR with (12.3.0.601) version.
But still i cant view the SAP connectivity. can u tell me from which version they have included this connectivity option in CR.
If CR going to support SAP Table connectivity on specific version, what is that version.

Error while opening the dynamic Template

Please try the following:
Clear the client cache if the problem is with a single client:
In BPC for Excel, click the eTools menu and select u2018Client Optionsu2019.
Click u2018Clear local application informationu2019.
Click u2018Refresh Dynamic Temnplatesu2019.
This will force the client machine to download the templates again.
Change the template version for the Application Set (AppSet) if the problem is with multiple clients:
Launch the BPC u2018Interface for the Webu2019.
Select u2018Administrationu2019.
Select u2018AppSet Parametersu2019.
Find the TEMPLATEVERSION parameter.
Increment the value by one. For example, if the value is .103, change the value to .104 and click the Update button.
This will force all of the client machines to download the templates again.
Manually download the files:
These files can be found in two locations.
Check the local machine for the files:
Check the local paths on the client machine to see if the needed files are there. The local paths for these files are:
My Documents\PC_NW\<domain>\<user>\AppInfo\<applicationset>\<Application>\eExcel\Reports\Wizard.
My Documents\PC_NW\<domain>\<user>\AppInfo\<applicationset>\<Application>\eExcel\Input Schedules\Wizard.
The files should be:
DESCRIPTION.TXT
IMAGE#.BMP
TEMPLATE#.XLT (where # is the specific number of the file).
If these files do not exist, they can be copied over from a working system. If all systems are giving this error, the files can be retrieved from NetWeaver.
To find the files in NetWeaver:
Run transaction UJFS.
Expand u2018webfoldersu2019.
Expand the Application Set (AppSet).
Expand the Application.
Expand u2018eexcelu2019.
Expand u2018reportsu2019.
Expand u2019wizardu2019.
The files located in this directory should also be located in My Documents\PC_NW\<domain>\<user>\AppInfo\<applicationset>\<Application>\eExcel\Reports\Wizard.
To download all of these files, right click the u2018wizardu2019 folder and select u2018Download All Documentsu2019.
Once the files are downloaded, unzip them into the local directory.
go back to u2018eexcelu2019 from Step 5.
Expand u2018input schedulesu2019.
Expand u2019wizardu2019.
The files located in this directory should also be located in My Documents\PC_NW\<domain>\<user>\AppInfo\<applicationset>\<Application>\eExcel\Input Schedules\Wizard.
Follow Steps 9-10.
If these files do not exist in NetWeaver, they may not have been transported properly. If this is the case, go to the source system and download the files and then right click the folder in NetWeaver and select u2018Upload Document from PCu2019 on the destination system.

Dynamic template in EPM 10.0 version

I am creating a dynamic template where the Employees and Cost centers are two dimensions. Under employee dimension, cost centers have been added as properties as shown below:

i have designed the Employees dimension members in row n time in column. While creating the template i can see the only 2354 employees. My requirement is if i change the context member from 2354 to 2358 then only those employees must appear which are shown under their respective properties. i have already checked filter because of which i can see only 2354 members but i want it to be dynamic and also that if i select 2354 then only 2354 members must appear and vice versa. It should not be static.

EPMAxisOverride and EPMContextMember
Assuming you are using the first report on the sheet (default report), use the following:
Build the report, then on the same sheet as the report, enter the following formula (in any cell outside of the report):
=EPMAxisOverride("000",FALSE,"EMPLOYEE","CC='"&EPMContextMember("COSTCENTER")&"'")
Assuming your dimensions are named "EMPLOYEE" and "COSTCENTER". Also, assumes the cost center property on EMPLOYEE is named "CC".

Printing a Dynamic Template !!

I have a user requirement to print the Dynamic Template excel with the selected parent node (costcenter) and all the nodes below it one by one .
example :
Parent node = XX1
Child nodes XX2
XX3
TT3
YY2
QQ3
ZZ2
DD3
EE3
CC3
User requirement : when he/she selects the parent node XX1 and opens the Dynamic template and print it . It should also print the next level child nodes XX2 , YY2 & ZZ2 . Would like to know if this is even possible ? If yes , how can we achieve this ?

My User requirement is that he wants more flexible printing with dynamic report though its excel . He wants to select a top node ( member ) and be able to get the resultset not just for the top node selected but also all the nodes below in seperate excel Tabs . I am dont think its feasible. But then someone mentioned about E-publish and printing multiple reports . So my question ..is there a way we select the Parent node and it passes all the Subchild lvl1 nodes in separate pages of the same report and print them to pdf or printer ?
Any suggestions on Printing the reports will be much appreciated.

Inserting titles between multiple dynamic EPM reports
Hi,
I am currently working on some templates where there are multiple dynamic EPM reports with shared column dimensions and multiple dimensions in the rows. I am using EPM Add-in SP21 patch 1.
We would like to have a section title appearing between the reports, I have tried a number of methods but have not found a solution that produces quality results.
Methods tried:
1. A local member on the row inserted at the start of the second report. The local member text appears in the right most row dimension column which is not the right place for a title. Also the titles for the dimension rows are not copied.
2. Insert a dummy member and override the member name. There are a couple of problems with this method, subsequent dimension ID's are populated and local members are also applied to this member.
3. EPMInsertCellsBeforeAfterBlock. I only managed to get this to copy a single cell into the data columns, not the row dimension columns.
4. Use VBA to add a title. The API GetDataTopLeftCell will return the starting position of data in a specific report. This can then be used to insert text into the previous line as a title. The disadvantage here is that VBA is being used but it can be used to produce the required results though you need to handle formatting and any password protection within the VBA.
I imagine that this is quite a common requirement. Ideally I would like to solve this without resorting to VBA or some exotic workaround.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I want results similar to what I have achieved using VBA. Where I have one row for column titles, which I am copying using Excel formulas, these should appear on every column including the dimension columns. On the row above this should be a subsection title, in this example this is "Bezüger"
The screen shots contain two reports, one below the other with shared column axis. The second report has been shifted down by a couple of rows to introduce a break between the reports.
Using VBA I inserted titles onto two rows, with a section title above a repeat of the original column header.
The best that I have achieved using local members resulted in a title being on the right most column, and there being no way to put title column header above the dimension columns.
I have played around with all the options for the local member but find no way to make the title appear in the left most column.
In this screen shot, the local member is disabled, because I have replaced it with the VBA solution.
I hope that the updated screen shots make this clearer to you.

Dynamically colorize report lines
i want to color the report rows of a dynamically refreshed report like a status
green, yellow, red, ...
it will working with the column templates of the corresponding ppr report template.

i have created a user defined dimension called "items", but somehow this dimension didn't automatically appear in my "freeze dimension setting" in the dynamic templates. and when i tried to manually input "items" at the next available row in "freeze dimension setting", the override effect doesn't seem to work.
any input on this?
cheersI tested the template number 13, or the nested row expansion template in ApShell. I added a dimension called Items, and added 11 members. When I opened the template and went to the control panel the dimension is not in the list, so I added the dimension name and then entered my override value memebr of "Item1". The expansion had the correct data and worked.
What did not happen, wa sthat the current view bar did not change, it still shows "All_Items" as its member. This is correct, since the template does not control the current view bar. If I change the current view to "ITEM2", I still only have values related to "ITEM1" in the expansion. So, I am guessing that you expected the current view to change? Which it will not.
Just as a note for all who are interested, you may need to edit and add these dimensions in each wizard for each application and store them back to the repository for a complete wizard view. In version 7, we expect to release EVDRE wizards. The NetWeaver version has them as part of its ApShell and they are transferable to the Microsoft version.
