Dynamic time range for prompts

Hi
HOW can i get this one done ???
User must be able to select a Static or dynamic time periods based on a given resolution – For example, the user will be given a prompt like :Enter resolution: (choices will be among -Year, Month and Day) next prompt is :Enter offset
If the user selects Resolution = Month and Offset = 3 , the report will provide results for 4 months. i.e. current month and Previous 3 months,
If the user selects Resolution = Year and Offset = 2 , the report will provide results for 3 months. i.e. current year and Previous 2 years,
regards

Sorry, I don't want to offend you, but why do you want to make life so difficult?
Why don't you just add two prompts: one for year and one for month, both using an "in between" operator.
This can be done within a minute...
Regards,
Stijn

  • When setting the split-days to "every 15 minutes," the week and comparison views show incorrect time ranges for the day

    When I change the "split-days" interval time, under Options > Settings, to
    15, or every 15 minutes, the week and comparison views don't show the correct
    time range for the day.
    <P>
    For example, if I click View to display the calendar and then click Week to get
    a weekly view, the time range displayed is from 6:00 a.m.
    to 4:00 p.m. If I click Comparison to get a
    comparison view, the time range displayed is from 12 p.m.
    to 6:45 p.m.
    <P>
    In this example, should both of these views show the same time range, from
    9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.?
    No, the two views will not necessarily show the same time range. The time
    range for the comparison view will start at the beginning prefs time only
    if you have something scheduled (on any day of the week) starting at that
    time. For example, on one of the days during your week of comparison, if you
    create an event that starts at 9:00 a.m. and then open the comparison view, the
    time range displayed will start with 9:00 a.m.
    <P>
    Additionally, view times will expand past the configured settings if events
    span past the time range. That is, if you have an event that spans from
    5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the event will be reflected in the view, even though
    your time range may be set to go only to 6:00 p.m.

    Umm yes.
    The settings are stored in ''prefs.js'', so you could swap various copies of this file in and out.
    However, the system will load ''prefs.js'', then, if present, ''user.js'' , so you can set up just your changes in ''user.js'' .
    The sort of line you need to look for is like this:
    <code>user_pref("mail.server.server14.check_time", 10);</code>
    You'll need to do some research to identify which of your accounts is which.
    Search for the account's email address:
    <code>user_pref("mail.identity.id10.useremail", "xenos&#64;example.com");</code>
    Use the id number to locate the account number:
    <code>user_pref("mail.account.account29.identities", "id10");</code>
    Use the account number to find the server number:
    <code>user_pref("mail.account.account29.server", "server14");</code>
    Finally, you can then use the server number find the account's time setting:
    <code>user_pref("mail.server.server14.check_time", 10);</code>
    This last entry may not exist, if you have never changed the setting from the default 10 minutes.
    Do be careful with your typing and copy/pasting; if the file fails the syntax parser it will silently fail.
    And make sure Thunderbird is shut down when you do the swap. If it's open, it may overwrite changes, and in any case, it only reads the settings file when it starts up.

  • Dynamic Time Table For collage

    How To create Dynamic Time Table for collage.. plz tell me the Concept For this Question.. I need Argent

    Disclosure: I work for NIST, but not in the Computer Security Div. (the group that issues the certificates).
    Looking at the NIST list of validated modules, Lion's crypto module recieved its certification on 3/30/12, but I don't know if this applies to all apps or just the libraries.  It doesn't apply to 3rd party apps yet (note says it will be re-evaluated for that use).  I wouldn't think File Vault is a "third party" app.
    I'll post more if I find out anything.

  • How to build dynamic time series for the time dimension

    I am planning to build dynamic time series using rule file instead of manually.Please let me know if there is any property need to assign to enable DTS property for TIME dimension.
    Edited by: 844104 on Mar 14, 2011 3:37 AM

    In the load rule in the dimension build settings you would need to go to the tab dimension definition, choose the time dimension and right click on it. Select Edit properties. If you have not done so, set the dimension to be the time dimension. Then go to the generations/levels tab and set the generation names you need. For example if you want YTD, you would set the generation name to Year, if you want QTD set it to Quarter. You would set the number to the generation number that coorisponds to the generation. The DBAG has the list of names for all of the DTS members.

  • Turn off dynamic time series for a single account

    I have a gross profit % account that is "store data." When users enter differing percents on a data form in Jan, Feb, and Mar, using any of the standard time balance properties (Fill, Flow, Balance, etc.) the amount displayed in Q1 is incorrect. Is there a way to display nothing in Q1 for this one account? I do not want to completely disable dynamic time series because it functions properly for all other accounts.
    Thanks in advance for the help.
    Ryan

    there would be a lot of questions I would want to ask to answer this properly but let me cover some of the basics.
    1) I don't believe there is a magic time balance you can attach to that account that is "empty" at Qtr and Year
    2) You could hide the qtr and year in the form (unless the form also includes other accounts that show qtr and year)
    3) what is the correct math for the quarter you would want
    4) a) Probably the right answer is to create a calc that does the right math. My guess is Qtr and Year needs to wait to add up the amounts in another couple of accounts then do the division.
    b) you create a calc that clears the qtr and year for that account as another option
    but once you figure out which calc method you want to go with you then attach the calc to the form to run on save and the user shouldn't see anything wrong.

  • How to use dynamic time series in formula

    I have Time dimension with active Dynamic Time Series for Y-T-D.
    I'd like to use it in member formula - e.g. IF (@ISMBR("Y-T-D(Aug)")) - but this doesn't work as I get error message Unknown variable or member name.
    Any idea how to work with dynamic time series members in formula?
    Still using Essbase 6.5 X-(.

    As Glenn mentioned, I also don't believe you can reference a DTS member in a formula, you would have to calc the YTD. Take a look at the @PTD function to calc Period to date numbers, I believe this function was available in v6.
    Having said that, we're assuming you want to calc a ptd number, but your example was based on an IF @ISMBR(). So the question becomes what are you trying to do? Given what I assume your time dim looks like, what would be the difference between @ISMBR("Y-T-D(Aug)") and @ISMBR("Aug")

  • How to enable Dynamic Time Series?

    Hi expert,
    I tried to enabled Dynamic Time Series for an application, by go to Dimension Library, right click, select "Dynamic Time Series", then selected both YTD and QTD for generation 2 and 3 respectively, then refresh database.
    But found seems the DTS is not enabled, tried to use in in Smartview, but cannot retrieve anything. Is there any further steps I need to take to enable DTS? Please help!
    My HP application is on 11.1.2.1 and we use EPMA. Thanks!

    You should really only have to do what is documented at - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epma_admin/epma_dts_members.html
    This may be useful as well in Oracle Support - "Clarification on the Generation Level when Setting up Dynamic Time Series (DTS: YTD, QTD,..) for Hyperion Planning [ID 1334732.1]"
    Cheers

  • Issue in activating Dynamic Time Series - EPM 11.1.2

    I am trying to activate Dynamic Time Series for one of Planning Application. To resolve the issue of reserved words, we have named "Year Dimension" as "YRS" in Dimension Library of EPMA.
    However, in essbase outline the dimension name is still appearing as "YEAR". Due to this, YTD is not getting activated. Is there any specific place where one can alter the alias for a Dimension.
    Has anyone noticed a similar anomaly ? Any input would be highly regarded.
    regards
    Navpreet
    [PS : We are using EPM 11.1.2]

    Nope that didn't work, but I figured out the error. I was running the command on a client machine. When I run the command on the server itself, it works fine.. well, now I have issues with my POVs, but at least it's finding my .csc file.
    Thanks for your help John.

  • Creating Dynamic Time Series in Hyperion Profitability and  Cost Management

    I am creating Dimensions in Dimension Library for Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management. Please let me know if we can set Dynamic Time Series for HPCM.
    I can see DTS Manager option for Period Dimension in Hyperion Planning but this option is not available for Period Dimension in HPCM Application.
    Is there any other way to drill down upto weeks level or day level data in Time Series.

    I am also facing the same issue. Does we have any option to create Dynamic time series in HPCM. Please let me know.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 dynamic assigned ports for currently logged in users

    Hi,
    How can I find out currently allocated dynamic ports for a user in windows server 2008?
    From registry, I can see the dynamic port range for an application (1025~49151) and system dynamic port range is 49152~65534.
    However, I am looking for the dynamic port range for users currently logged into the server.
    Please assist.
    Thanks,
    Suranjit

    If you want to list all ports the server is currently listening on as well as the processes using them, netstat can help you with that.
    netstat -aon | find /i "listening"
    Where the -o will give you the Process ID, which can be matched up with the username.

  • Scheduling WebI reports for Dynamic Date Ranges

    Hello Everyone,
    Our Env is BOBJ XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.5 integrated with SAP NW  BW 7.02 EPH1
    We are trying to schedule few WebI reports which can be used on ad-hoc basis as well. Some reports need to get data from starting of the month to today (like MTD) and few are with dynamic date ranges.
    In case of relational universes i used to do Magic Date as mentioned here :  http://www.dagira.com/2008/07/21/using-a-magic-date-value-in-prompts
    But for OLAP Universes i have written a MDX filter prompt as :
    <FILTER KEY= "@Select(Debit Memo Date\Debit Memo Date LOV)">
    <CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION= "Between">
    <CONSTANT CAPTION= "IIF (@Prompt('Enter\Select DM Start Date: ','D','First day of Current Month\First day of Current Month',mono,free,not_persistent,{'First Day of Month'},,User:0)='First Day of Month','First day of Current Month\First day of Current Month',@Prompt('Enter\Select DM Start Date: ','D','First day of Current Month\First day of Current Month',mono,free,not_persistent,{'First Day of Month'},,User:0))"/>
    <CONSTANT CAPTION= "IIF (@Prompt('Enter\Select DM End Date: ','D','Date2\Today',mono,free,not_persistent,{'Today'},,User:0) > '1/1/2100 12:00:00 AM',''1/1/2010 12:00:00 AM'',(@Prompt('Enter\Select DM End Date: ','D','Date2\Today',mono,free,not_persistent,{'Today'},,User:0))"/>
    </CONDITION>
    </FILTER>
    We are getting MDX erros because IIF can only return numeric values. So are there any other approaches for dynamically scheduling the reports or can the above MDX prompt be modified to make it work ?

    Ingo,
    When we schedule the WEBI report we use the BEX query with a variable based on a customer Exit .
    There are good examples in
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/profile/Surendra+Reddy
    In order to avoid providing a hard coded date restriction in the BEX query we want to have a flexible date range solution (e.g. data from 1.1.2011 until yesterday).
    Is the folloing scenario possible:
    Scheduled webi report with a hard coded date e.g. 1.1.1900 (for the BEX variable)
    The BEX query should return the data from 1.1.2011 until yesterday (dynamically)  if date = 1.1.1900
    else it should return the data (for the e.g. adhoc reporting)
    Is a customer exit like this possible ?
    Pseudo code:
    IF date = 1.1.900 then return sysdate-1 else return entered date
    For a relational universe I always used a magic date condition

  • I currently use a Time Capsule for my wi fi. I would like to extend its range and have been looking at boosters. Is Airport Express the best booster solution when using the Time Capsule or is there a better solution?

    I currently use a Time Capsule for my wi-fi (2008). I would like to extend its range. While there are many boosters that can do the job, what is the best option? How is Airport Express as an option?

    The Time Capsule (TC) can have its wireless network extended by another TC, an 802.1n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), or 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn).
    If your TC is a simultaneous dual-band version, only another TC or AEBSn will be able to extend both radios. The AXn can only support one radio (2.4 or 5 GHz) at a time.

  • I have a time capsule and airport express one floor lower, the signal keeps dropping. Would an airport extreme give me a longer range for wifi?

    I have several computers. My equipment is upstairs in a house, apple time capsule and downstairs airport express. Lately the downstairs computer keeps disconnecting from the internet. Would replacing the airport express with and airport extreme give me a greater range for my wifi connections?

    Yes.  Question is... would the difference be enough.
    The extreme has a bigger & more powerful antena array. But if that alone still doesn't suffice, you also have the option to use the express to EXTEND from the Extreme.

  • How do i filter the records in analytic view by using variable/parameter for a time range

    i have a analytic view which has a output column as date type. i want the user who use this view have the control to decided the output records based on a time range (from x to y).
    i tried to create 2 variables, 1 for start_time, 1 for end_time. Ideally, i should have a expression for filtering data like this:
    $$start_time <= date_column <= $$end_time
    However, the variable windows doesn't seem to be feasible for the expression as above.
    Does anyone has the same problem and get it solved?
    Thanks!

    just figured out by my own. So the answer is using "variable" with "range" option.
    Making a variable, then set the "selection type" to "range".
    When preview the data, the variable input window pops up with operator on default "equal", use dropdown list to swtich it to "between", then you can enter the start_time and end_time as a range filter.
